Chapter 19: Rescued
Alex was in a house he knew too well. His father's house.
His father showed up from some side door and hugged him. Alex returned the hug unwillingly.
"I am glad you are here son,"
"Where are the little ones?" asked Alex.
"Upstairs, they are fine, we have great plans for you kids," said Alex's father.
"I get why you took Leo, but why did you take Tom's girl?" asked Alex.
"You don't know?" asked his father.
"Know what?"
"Tom as you call him, was our leader. The dark lord. She is lord Voldemort child," said Alex's father.
Alex's eyes got wide. Papa Tom as the little ones called him, their good, kind foster father was the dark lord everyone feared for years? That killed a lot of people? And Ginny, good, sweet Ginny, married him? And wasn't he supposed to be sixty or Seventy years old?
"Of course they lied to you, we will never do that. We hope that he will sober up from his so called love for the blood traitor Ginny Weasley and rejoin us," said Alex's father.
"Can I see the kids? They are probably frightened, they are very small, and you are all strangers to them," said Alex.
"Of course, of course, that may actually help, second floor, first door on the left,"
Alex nodded and went upstairs. They never bothered to take away his wand, not that he really needed it. Tom always said that he is a lot like Ginny, very intuitive with his magic and very powerful for his young age.
Alex went up the stone stairs and to the first room on the left on the second floor. It was his old room. The same room he escaped when he learned how cruel his father could be.
On the floor, behind his bed hid JJ and Leo. He wasn't surprised when the three years old girl took a stance in front of the smaller boy when the door opened, she was after all her parents' girl.
"Alex!" she called happily and warped her little arms around his legs as he picked up Leo.
"They took you too?" asked JJ.
"Yes and no. Don't worry about it, tiny." Said Alex.
He touched the door and sealed it. He tried the handle and was happy when the door stayed closed. Then he concentrated and reach out with his magic testing the wards and weakening them.
At the same time at the orphanage everyone were trying to figure out how to find the children.
"Are you sure he went there to help the kids and not to join the Death Eaters?" asked George.
"Yes. Do you know how he got to us?" asked Tom.
George shook his head.
"He escaped his father's house when he witnessed his cruelty. The ministry sent him to us when he did magic on the street,"
"Accidental magic, you mean," said Remus.
"No. He was cold so he lit up a fire in a small bucket in some alley. He used the word and the intent but didn't have a wand to direct the magic, and still the fire was only in the bucket," said Tom.
"Definitely like Ginny," agreed George.
Everyone smiled.
"O.k. back to the optional house. I think Avery's house is the logical one. Remote, easy to guard, and he was low enough among the Death Eaters that people may dismiss him to concentrate on a bigger fish," said Ginny.
"And Alex figured it out," said Lizzy.
"Probably. It's a house he knew, he assumed he will have the advantage even if it's against Death Eaters," said Tom.
"Will he?" asked Arthur.
"Some, but he is still just a child, and they are grown wizards. And he has the little ones with him too, that will make things difficult." Said Tom.
"Then let's go!" called Ginny.
"You are staying here, with Luna and Lizzy, and Arthur if he is willing," said Tom.
Arthur nodded.
"I am not staying!" said all three girls together.
"Creepy," mumbled Fred.
"Yes." agreed George.
"Ginny you are pregnant, and Luna, I want you to stay here to help with the kids and in case they sent someone again, Lizzy you are under the kids category," said Tom.
While Ginny and Luna agreed, Lizzy was fuming.
"I am not staying, not again. If I was out there, he wouldn't have been taken," said Lizzy.
"Or you would have been dead," said Tom.
"I AM NOT STAYING!" she shouted.
"Fine! You stick to Sirius, do you understand?" asked Tom irritated, he hated raising girls. While he agreed that girls are usually smarter and more talented than most people, raising them was a pain in his side.
"Yes." said Lizzy and went to stand next to Sirius that nodded at Tom.
"There is a small pub across from the house, and an alley behind the pub. Everyone familiar with it?" asked Tom.
"Yes," all agreed.
"How are you familiar with it?" asked Ginny, looking at Tom with a raised eyebrow.
"Another life darling, it's a magical pub," said Tom.
"I think the real question is how this little one familiar with it," said Sirius.
"Thanks," she grumbled when Tom and Ginny stared at her with opened mouths.
"We will talk about sneaking out when we will get back," said Tom.
"Snitch," mumbled Lizzy to Sirius as he took her hand and they apparated.
None of them said good bye.
"Something wrong with the wards. They are weakening and I can't fix them," said Bellatrix.
"That doesn't make sense," said Avery sr.
"It's your son. Must be, the wards started to weaken after he went to the kids' room, I knew he wasn't waiting for me because he wanted to join us. He came to rescue the kids!" called Bellatrix, rushing up the stairs.
"Alex they are at the door!" called JJ.
"It will take them time to unseal it, don't worry tiny." Said Alex and continued breaking the wards on the house, while thinking, 'hurry guys, I won't be able to fight them all alone'.
Just then all of the wards finally crumpled, and then Tom and his rescue team were there.
"No warding?" asked Sirius.
"It's Alex, he probably got them down. I told you, he is like Ginny," said Tom proudly.
"Let's go in then," said Remus.
And they did, some went from the back door, others from the front, taking down every death eater they came across.
If they could leave them paralyzed and alive they did.
They went up to the second floor.
Alex stood in front of the little ones when the door flew open and Bellatrix, his father and two other Death Eaters walked in.
Alex lifted his hand, and the two Death Eaters flew against the wall and were warped in ropes.
He turned to his father when he called "Crucio!" and Alex was screaming on the floor before he could try any other spell.
The little ones were crying on the floor behind Alex.
Suddenly it all stopped.
"Those are my kids. And I warned you, I look young, but my power is stronger than ever," said Tom, his voice velvety and powerful.
"My lord!" called Bellatrix, getting on her knees in front of him. So did Avery.
"We waited for your return, we knew you will like those kids to be the next generation of Death Eaters," mumbled Bellatrix.
"Voldemort is dead, never to return, those children are mine by blood and by choice, and are pure then any of us could ever be," said Tom.
He disabled Avery and turned to Bellatrix as she stood up and called "Avada Kedavra!"
"No!" called Alex and leaped in front of Tom his arms wide open.
Just as Ginny did when she was fifteen at the great hall when Bellatrix tried to kill her, Alex arms sent a golden shield that shattered on impact and threw everyone off their feet.
Bellatrix, the last death eater that wasn't captured tried to escape.
"Not this time cousin," said Sirius as they started to duel.
Spells flew all over the place until Bellatrix called "Avada Kedavra!" just as Sirius called "Expelliarmus!" the two beams of light hit each other and turned backwards. Sirius' curse came back to him, and he ducked, and it missed him, but Bellatrix curse came back to her and hit her in the chest, her triumphed smile still on her face.
"Hmm. Why did the spells did that?" asked Sirius.
"You two are blood, it's not always have that reaction, but sometime magic has a mind of its own when it comes to blood against blood," said Tom as he hugged his daughter to his chest.
"Good to know." Said Sirius in a frown.
"Let's just go home." Said Lizzy, carrying Leo on her arms.
They apparated out of the house and back home.
Later that night Arthur Weasley sent an owl to the ministry, letting them know about the location of the last free Death Eaters.
Some stuff I forgot to tell you.
Small bold writing = Tom handwriting.
Small regular writing = Ginny handwriting.
Big regular writing is the story. (Big bold too).
