welcome, friends, to my second Digimon-styled fairytale of 'Takari-Sleeping Beauty'.
disclamation: I do not own the 'Digimon' anime or even the movie of 'Sleeping Beauty'. the only thing in this fanfiction I truly own is the fanfiction, itself.
The opening credits role in and the opening chorus begins to sing.
Chorus: I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, that gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam. And I know it's true that visions are seldom all it seems. But, if I know you, I know what you'll do; you'll love me at once the way you did once upon a dream.
Then, a jaunty little tune follows after the chorus. Then, the jaunty little tune suddenly takes a turn for the romantic. Then, the romantic musical theme turns into a marching theme. Then, the marching theme took a turn for the regal and started to sound as though it was meant for royalty.
The musical themes finally end as Wizardmon, the narrator, takes the stage and starts to read from the story book of 'Sleeping Beauty'.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: In a far away land long ago, there lived a king and his fair queen. Many years, they longed for a child, and finally their wish was granted. A daughter was born. They called her Hikari, 'Kari' for short.
Opening Chorus: Sweet Hikari.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Yes, they named her after the forces of light for she truly was the light of their lives. Then, a great holiday was proclaimed throughout the kingdom, so that all of high or low estate might pay homage to the infant princess. And our story begins on that most joyful day.
Chorus: On that joyful day, On that joyful day, joy, glory, now to our princess, we come bringing gifts and all good wishes to we pledge our loyalty and who. Hail to the Princess Hikari. All of her subjects adore her. Hail to the king, hail to the queen. Hail to the Princess Hikari. Health to the princess, wealth to the princess. Long live the Princess Hikari.
The guests of the assembly then start to march on into the king and queen's castle.
Chorus (continued): Hail, Hikari. Hail, Hikari. Health to the princess, wealth to the princess. Long live the Princess Hikari. Hail to the king, hail to the queen. Hail to the Princess Hikari.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Thus, on this great and joyous day did all the kingdom celebrate the long-awaited royal birth, and Good King Susumu and his Queen Yuuko made welcome their lifelong friend.
The heralds' trumpets sound to signify the arrival of the lifelong friend of King Susumu and Queen Yuuko, a recently remarried queen with a young son who are introduced by Elecmon, the reader of the attendees list.
Elecmon: Their royal highnesses, Queen Natusko, better known as 'Queen Nancy', and Prince Takeru, better known as Prince T.K..
Nancy and her son arrive to greet her friends and their infant daughter. Young Prince T.K. bows to his mother's friends.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Fondly had these monarchs dreamed one day that their kingdoms to unite. Thus, today would they announce that T.K., Natsuko's son and heir, to Susumu and Yuuko's daughter would be betrothed.
Queen Nancy and Queen Yuuko hug one another. Then, Nancy presents her son, Prince T.K., to Yuuko and her husband, Susumu. Then, Nancy sends T.K. over to take a nice, little look at the infant princess.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon (continued): And, so to her, his gift, he brought. And, looked unknowing on his future bride.
The herald trumpets sound once more, and then a light comes in through the room. The final invitees are arriving. Elecmon is ready to read the final names from his list.
Elecmon: Their most honored and exalted excellencies, the three good fairies.
Then, the three good fairies make their appearances to the floor one after another.
Elecmon (continued): Mistress Mimi Tachikawa,
Mimi Tachikawa is all dressed in forest green and beige. Elecmon continues with the other two that followed her.
Elecmon (continued): Mistress Catherine Deneuve,
Catherine Deneuve is all dressed in green and red, though mostly red. After Catherine, Elecmon introduces the last of the good fairies and the final guest.
Elecmon (continued): and Mistress Miyako Inoue, better known as Yolei Inoue.
Yolei Inoue is all dressed in pink and sky blue.
All three of the good fairies fly to the princess's cradle. They approach the baby princess and awe at her.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: The little darling.
Then, the three good fairies fly to the king and queen, bowing to them.
All three good fairies: Your Majesties.
Mimi Tachikawa: Each of us, the child may bless, with a single gift, no more, no less.
Mimi then flies back over to the infant princess's cradle.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Little princess, my gift shall be the gift of beauty.
Mimi waves her wand, and the gift of beauty is delivered to Princess Kari.
Chorus: One gift, beauty rare, brown of chocolate in her hair, eyes that shame the crimson rose, she'll walk with springtime wherever she goes.
It is now Catherine's turn to bestow her gift.
Catherine Deneuve: Tiny Princess, my gift shall be ze gift of song.
Catherine waves her own wand, and the gift of song is delivered to Princess Kari.
Chorus: One gift, the gift of song, melodies her whole life long. The nightingale's her troubadour, bringing his sweet serenade to her door.
It is now Yolei Inoue's turn to bless the infant princess with a gift from her of her own choosing.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Sweet Princess, my gift shall be the gift of_
Yolei is interrupted, however, when delivering her gift as the castle doors fly open via an incredibly strong wind. An evil theme plays in the background. Her interruption is none other than the evil fairy, Lillithmon who also went by the name of 'Laylamon'.
Catherine Deneuve: Why, It's Laylamon.
Then, Picodevimon AKA Demidevimon, her assistant digimon, flies onto her shoulder.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: What does she want here?
Mimi shushes them both. Laylamon then walks up to the king and the queens with both of their children. Queen Natsuko holds her son, Prince T.K., tightly in her arm for the young prince's protection.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Well, quite a glittering assemblage, King Susumu. Royalty, nobility, the gentry, and…
Laylamon then spots the three good fairies and chuckles over their attendance.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): Oh, how quaint. Even the rabble.
Yolei gets mad at Laylamon for calling her and her sisters 'rabble' and tries to confront her on it, only to be held back by Mimi.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): I really felt quite distressed at not receiving an invitation, your majesties.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You weren't wanted.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Not wan_
Laylamon just chuckles off the issue by pretending she is not even aware that she is not even welcome at the celebration.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): Oh dear, what an awkward situation. I had hoped it was merely due to some form of oversight.
Laylamon starts to turn right around.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): Well in that event, I'd best be on my way.
Queen Yuuko Yagami/Kamiya: And you're not offended, your excellency?
Laylamon then turns back around at this.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Why, no, your majesty Queen Yuuko. And to show I bare no ill will, I, too, shall bestow a gift upon the child.
Mimi, Catherine, and Yolei try to shield the infant Princess Kari from whatever trick Laylamon had in store for the child.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): Listen well, all of you! The princess shall, indeed, grow in grace and beauty, beloved by all who know her…
King Susumu and Queen Yuuko hold onto one another tightly to be prepared for whatever this witch has in store for their daughter.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): But, before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.
Queen Yuuko runs up to her daughter's cradle and holds the infant princess in her arms.
Queen Yuuko Yagami/Kamiya: Oh, NO!
Laylamon cackles wickedly at the curse she has just placed upon the infant princess.
King Susumu Yagami/Kamiya: Seize that creature!
The king's knights all assemble to capture the evil fairy.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Stand back, you fools!
Laylamon escapes into a puff of smoke and is soon followed by Demidevimon.
Even after the witch and her assistant are gone, the king and his queen are still worried for their daughter's future safety. King Susumu is angry at Laylamon, while Queen Yuuko holds infant Princess Kari tightly in her arms. Good fairy, Mimi, tries to comfort the two of them.
Mimi Tachikawa: Don't despair, your majesties. Yolei still has her gift to give.
King Susumu is suddenly hopeful that this could help enough to…
King Susumu Yagami/Kamiya: Then, she can undo this fearful curse?
But no such luck.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Oh no, sire.
Mimi Tachikawa: Laylamon's powers are far too great for us to undo.
Catherine Deneuve: But she can help.
Mimi and Catherine push Yolei forward to help with the infant princess's newly placed curse.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But…
Catherine Deneuve: Just do your best, dear.
Mimi Tachikawa: Yes, go on.
Yolei waves her wand and delivers a way to weaken the curse bestowed onto the infant princess.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Sweet Princess, if through this wicked witch's trick, a spindle should your finger prick, a ray of hope there still may be in this. The gift I give to thee; not in death, but just in sleep, the fateful prophecy you'll keep, and from this slumber you shall wake when true love's kiss, the spell shall break.
Chorus: For true love conquers all.
