disclamation: I do not own these characters, or even this plotline. the one part of this fanfiction I do own is the fanfiction, itself.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: But, King Susumu, still fearful of his daughter's life, did then and there decree that every spinning wheel in the kingdom should on that very day be burned. And so, it was done.
Mimi, Catherine and Yolei all watch the burning of the spinning wheels. Mimi seems to be fully aware that the simple act of burning all the spinning wheels will not offer Princess Kari any protection.
Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, those silly little…
Catherine Deneuve: Come now and have a nice cup of tea, dear. I'm sure it will work out somehow.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, a bonfire won't stop Laylamon.
Mimi Tachikawa: Of course not, but what will?
Catherine Deneuve: Well, perhaps if we tried to reason wiz her…
Mimi Tachikawa: REASON?
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: WITH LAYLAMON?!
Catherine is, however, still quite very optimistic that…
Catherine Deneuve: Well, she can't be all bad.
Mimi and Yolei, though, know just bad Lillithmon truly is and that she cannot be reasoned with, at all.
Mimi Tachikawa: Oh yes, she can.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Ooooh, I'd like to turn her into a fat, ole' pot toad.
Catherine Deneuve: Now, dear, that isn't a very nize zing to say.
Mimi Tachikawa: Besides, Yolei, we can't. You know that our magic doesn't work that way.
Catherine Deneuve: It can only do good, Dearest Yolei, to bring jhoy and happiness.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, that would make me happy.
But, Mimi still refuses to give up.
Mimi Tachikawa: But, there must be some way.
Then, out of nowhere, an idea seems to come to Mimi.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): There is.
Yolei and Catherine stand up from their seats upon hearing that Mimi might just have a solution to the curse.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: There is?
Catherine Deneuve: What is it, Mimi?
Mimi flies over to her sisters.
Mimi Tachikawa: I'm going to…
Mimi then shushes her sisters before she can get her idea out to them.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Even walls have ears.
Then, they all inspect the area to make sure that no one can hear them.
Mimi Tachikawa: Follow me.
Mimi then turns herself tiny. Catherine does the same, then Yolei follows. They all head into a tiny gift leftover from the celebration of the infant princess's christening. Mimi then locks the door to the gift behind her.
Inside, she talks to her sisters about the idea which came to her only a few minutes ago.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): I'll turn her into a flower.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Laylamon?
Mimi Tachikawa: No, no, Dear Yolei. The princess.
Catherine Deneuve: Oh, she'd make a lovely flowér.
Mimi Tachikawa: Don't you see? A flower can't prick its finger.
Yolei suddenly sees what Mimi is saying.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: It hasn't any fingers to prick.
Mimi Tachikawa: That's right. She'll be perfectly safe.
Yolei suddenly notices a flaw with the plan. Not only does Yolei notice a flaw with the plan, she also feels the need to point it out.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Until, Laylamon sends in a frost.
Mimi Tachikawa giggles at first.
Mimi Tachikawa: Yes.
But then, she and Catherine finally understand the flaw with her plan.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Oh, dear.
Catherine Deneuve: She always roo-ins your nizest flowérs.
Mimi Tachikawa: You're right, and she'll be expecting us to do something like that.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, what won't she expect? She knows everything.
Catherine Deneuve: Oh but, she doesn't, dear. Laylamon doesn't know any-zing love or kindness or ze jhoy of helping o-zérs.
Suddenly, a new idea dawns on Mimi.
Catherine Deneuve (continued): You know, sometimes, I don't zink she's really very happy.
Mimi Tachikawa: That's it. Of course. It's the only thing she can't understand and won't expect.
Mimi giggled at the thought of what she was thinking.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Now, now, now, we have to plan it carefully. The_ uh_ woodcutter's cottage. Yes, yes, the abandoned one. Of course, the king and queen are bound to object, but when we explain to them that it's the only way…
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Explain what?
Mimi Tachikawa: About the three peasant women raising a foundling child deep in the forest.
Catherine Deneuve: Oh, well, zat's… very nize of zem.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Who are they?
Mimi Tachikawa: Turn around.
Catherine and Yolei turn around just as Mimi has told them to and they are suddenly wearing peasant dresses. The only problem that Yolei has with hers is that it's green.
Catherine Deneuve: Why, it'z us.
Mimi nods to the sentiment.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You mean 'we' us?
Mimi nods to the sentiment once more. Then, she waves her wand and dresses herself in a peasant dress, too.
Catherine Deneuve: Take care of ze baby?
Mimi Tachikawa: And, why not?
Yolei decided to use her wand to at least turn her peasant dress a different color, more specifically pink.
Catherine Deneuve: Oh, I like zat.
Yolei, however, feels the need to remind her sisters that taking care of a child is not going to be any easy task.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, yes. But, we'd have to feed it…
Catherine Deneuve: And wash it, and dress it, and rock it to sleep. Oh, I love it.
Catherine is clearly on board with the whole thing, but Yolei has a few doubts that they can pull it off perfectly.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You really think we can.
Mimi's only concern, though, is simply protecting the princess from Laylamon.
Mimi Tachikawa: If humans can do it, so can we.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: And, we'd have our magic to help us.
Catherine Deneuve: Zat's right.
Mimi grows shocked that they actually think that they will be allowed to use magic while they are taking care of the princess. She shuts the door to the present tightly once more.
Mimi Tachikawa: No, no, no, no, no. No magic! I'll take those wands, right now. Oh, we better get rid of those wings, too.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You mean, live like mortals? For sixteen years?
Mimi Tachikawa: Of course, Yolei.
Yolei tries to fly away, but Mimi zaps her wings away before she can get very far. Yolei tries to reason with Mimi about the flaws of this plan of hers, too. All of this while trying to keep away from her sister, Mimi, who is trying to take her wand away from her.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Now, now, we don't know how. We've never done anything without magic.
Mimi Tachikawa: That's why Laylamon will never suspect it.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, who will wash? And cook?
Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, we'll all pitch in.
Catherine Deneuve: I'll take care of ze baby.
Mimi Tachikawa: Let me have it, Dear Yolei.
Yolei suddenly zaps Mimi's wings away, but this only provides Mimi with the ability to finally snatch Yolei's wand from her.
Mimi Tachikawa: Come along, now. We must tell their majesties at once.
Then, they all step outside of the present. Mimi magically returns to her normal size, but nearly forgets about Catherine and Yolei.
Catherine Deneuve: Mimi.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Mimi.
Then, Mimi notices that she has almost forgotten her sisters and uses the wands one last time to return Catherine and Yolei to normal size.
After telling the king and queen that it is the only way the princess can be protected, the three good fairies head out of the kingdom with the king and queen watching them.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: And so the king and his queen watched with heavy hearts as their most precious possession, their only child, disappeared into the night.
Catherine holds onto the infant Princess Kari tightly in her arms.
