disclamation: I do not own 'Digimon', nor do I own Walt Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty'. the only part of this fanfiction I truly own is the fanfiction, itself.

Wizarmon/Wizardmon: And so for sixteen long years, the whereabouts of the princess remained a mystery. While deep in the forest in a woodcutter's cottage, the good fairies carried out their well-laid plan. Living like mortals, they had raised the child as their own, and they called her 'Chocolate Rose'.

A/N: I know it's not technically 'Briar Rose', but I'm working with what I can.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya is now aged into a beautiful young girl of sixteen years old, and what a beauty she is. She even begins to sing.

Wizarmon/Wizardmon: On this day, her sixteenth birthday, the good fairies had planned a party and something extra special for a surprise.

The scene folds into whatever it is that the three good fairies are doing with their party planning.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, how about this one?

Mimi Tachikawa: This is the one I picked.

Catherine Deneuve: Oh, she'll look lovely in zat.

Mimi Tachikawa: Now, I've thought of a few changes here, here, and most of all here. With a shorter hemline, a few ruffles down the middle of the bodice, and something for a collar at the neck.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: We will make it pink, won't we?

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh no, dear Yolei. We'll make it green.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But…

Mimi Tachikawa: Of course, we'll need to make a few tweaks here and there, and…

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: How do we get her out of the house?

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, I'll think of something.

It is then that Kari makes her presence all too known to the three good fairies under the guises of peasant women.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Well… and what might you three dears be up to?

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Up to?

Catherine Deneuve: Up to?

Mimi Tachikawa: Up to?

Just when they are all expecting Mimi to think of something to say to Kari, the only thing Mimi appears to be able to do is begin stammering at Kari. Yolei, thankfully, comes to her sister's rescue and comes up with a plan to get Kari to leave the house while she, Mimi and Catherine can prepare for Kari's sixteenth birthday party in secretive peace. Yolei picks up a basket of roses, removes the roses from the basket and hands it to Kari.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: We want you to pick some berries.

Mimi Tachikawa: That's it. Berries.

Catherine Deneuve: Berries. Lots and lots of berries.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: But, I picked berries yesterday.

Mimi Tachikawa: We're already out, dear.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: So, we need more berries.

Catherine Deneuve: Lots and Lots more.

Kari seems to be OK with the order to get more berries, anyway, suspecting that the three of them have something planned for later.

Mimi Tachikawa: Now, don't hurry back, dear.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, don't go too far.

Mimi Tachikawa: And don't speak to strangers.

Catherine Deneuve: Au revoir, ma Cherie.

Mimi Tachikawa: Sayonara, Dearest Rose.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Goodbye, dear.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: So long, you three. I'll be back later.

When they are all finally done saying their 'good-byes', Yolei grows a strangely concerned look on her face. It is almost as though she…

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I wonder if she suspects.

Mimi Tachikawa: Of course not.

Mimi giggles.

Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Come on.

Mimi then opens up a trunk full of green fabrics.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: A real birthday party.

Catherine Deneuve: Wiz a real birthday cake.

Mimi Tachikawa: Yes, and a dress a princess can be proud of.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I'll get the wands.

Mimi Tachikawa: Yes, of course, you ge_

Mimi suddenly realizes what she is agreeing with from Yolei, and it shakes her to her core.

Mimi Tachikawa: The wands?

Catherine Deneuve: Oh non, zut alor! Sacre bleu!

Mimi Tachikawa: No magic! Remember?!

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, the sixteen years are almost over.

Mimi Tachikawa: We're taking no chances.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, I've never baked a fancy cake.

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, you won't have to, dear.

Catherine Deneuve: I'm going to bake ze cake.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You?!

Mimi Tachikawa: She's always wanted to, dear, and this is her last chance.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well…

Catherine Deneuve: I'm going to bake it fifteen layérs with pink flowérs wiz green leaves…

Mimi Tachikawa: And I'm making the dress.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, you can't sew, and she's never even once cooked.

But while Yolei is trying to be realistic, Mimi and Catherine are just being too optimistic for either one of their own good.

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh-ho-ho-ho, it's simple.

Catherine Deneuve: All you really have to do is follow ze book.

Mimi Tachikawa: Up here, dear.

Mimi takes Yolei up onto the foot stool.

Mimi Tachikawa: You can be my sewing dummy.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Well, I still say that we oughtta use our magic.

Then, Mimi throws her green fabric over Yolei's head, and Catherine starts on the recipe for the birthday cake.

Catherine Deneuve: Flour; three cups.

She starts looking for the measuring cups…

Catherine Deneuve: Cups, cups, cups, cups.

… only to find that they are right in front her the whole time. Catherine starts humming a happy little tune to the idea of finally getting to bake the birthday cake.

Meanwhile with Mimi and Yolei, Mimi cuts a whole around the center of the fabric.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: What's that for?

Mimi Tachikawa: Well, it simply must have a hole in the bottom.

Catherine Deneuve: Zat is for ze feet to go s'roo.

Mimi puts the top of the fabric over Yolei's head.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: It's green.

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh yes, a lovely emerald.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, I think she'd look better in pink.

Mimi Tachikawa: Now, dear, we decided that green was her color.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You decided it was. I still think the princess would look so much better in pink.

Mimi throws the fabric back over Yolei's head and then ties a ribbon around it, while Catherine continues to bake the birthday cake… or at least try to bake the birthday cake by what it looks like.

Catherine Deneuve: Two eggs, fold in gently.

Catherine at first becomes confused by these instructions…

Catherine Deneuve: Fold? Oh, well.

But then, Catherine takes the 'fold in gently' instructions far too literally and simply folds the eggs into the batter, shell and all. Then, she shmushes them into the mixture and breaks them in the process by the sound of it.

Meanwhile with Mimi, Yolei and the dress, Mimi holds three pieces of the fabric over Yolei's head while cutting them open, and just in time, too, since just before that, Yolei states to Mimi…

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I can't breathe.

When Mimi cuts the fabric open, however, Yolei still struggles to get freed from the trap of fabric.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue (continued): Let me outta here.

Mimi pulls the dress's bodice hemline down to help Yolei out of it.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue (continued): It looks awful.

Mimi Tachikawa: That's because it's on you, dear.

Meanwhile with the baking of the cake, Catherine is trying to make a little more sense of the cookbook's instructions, but…

Catherine Deneuve: Now, yeast; one tisp.

Once again, Catherine becomes confused by the instructions from the book.

Catherine Deneuve: 'Tisp'?

Yolei clarifies the instructions to Catherine.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: One teaspoon, dear Catherine.

Catherine Deneuve: One teaspoon, of course.

Yolei starts to have doubts that this plan even can work out the way she, Mimi and Catherine are doing. Catherine continues to try to bake the cake. Mimi measures the dress while Yolei holds the measuring tape just up to her chin, and Mimi comments…

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, good gracious. Our child's grown.

Yolei starts to reminisce about the beginning of their journey in taking care of the princess.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Oh, it seems only yesterday that we brought her here.

Catherine holds a lump of the batter in her arms as she says…

Catherine Deneuve: Jhust a tiny baby.

Then, Yolei starts to cry and wipes her tears with the dress which she, herself, is the sewing mannequin for.

Mimi Tachikawa: Why, Yolei.

Catherine Deneuve: Whatever is ze matter, dear?

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: After today, she'll be a princess again, and we won't have any 'Chocolate Rose'.

Catherine Deneuve: Oh, Mimi.

Mimi saw the point behind Yolei's words and took it under consideration, but only acknowledged it as the truth in the end.

Mimi Tachikawa: Now, now, we all knew this day had to come.

Mimi, herself, did still start to tear up, though.

Catherine Deneuve: But, why did it have to come so soon?

Catherine started to tear up, too, before they all knew it.

Mimi Tachikawa: After all, we've had her for sixteen years.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Sixteen wonderful years.

All of them started to cry a little bit at the thought of their 'Chocolate Rose' becoming a princess once more.

Mimi was the first one to pull herself together when she remembered that they were all throwing a surprise birthday party for their precious 'Chocolate Rose'.

Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, good gracious. We're acting like a lot of ninnies. Come on. She'll be back before we even get started.
