disclamation: I do not own the 'Digimon' anime, nor do I own Walt Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty'. the only part of this fanfiction which I truly own is the fanfiction, itself.

Meanwhile in the forest with Kari, she is vocalizing a pretty little tune. The forest animals all recognize her as she walked by all of them, vocalizing like a songbird. Lots of birds join in her vocalizing and a few squirrels and some rabbits even joined her on her walk. Then, an owl wakes up from its sleep during the day just to join in with Kari's beautiful vocalization.

Kari is completely unaware of it right now, but her vocalizations are even being heard in the distance by a young man in addition to her animal friends. The young man is riding on his horse-like companion when he first hears Kari's vocalizations, but he gets a pretty good listening to of her voice.

Young Man: You hear that, Pegasusmon? Beautiful, isn't it? What is it?

The young man's horse friend, this Pegasusmon, has wings just like his namesake, and bears tiny orange batwing-like ears, hooves and a facial snout made of solid gold, a mane and a tail of a bleach blonde color, and is golden orange in color. He can even talk a bit.

Pegasmon/Pegusumon: I have no idea what you're talking about, T.K.. I heard nothing.

Pegasusmon tries to tell a little white lie to his human friend, but T.K. does not buy this lie.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Come on, let's find out.

Pegasusmon, however, is not as willing to go observe.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: I don't care how pretty you think it is, I don't wanna go see it, whatever it is. It's probably not even real at all.

The vocalizing just continues on T.K.'s ears, however, and he seems to be trapped by it.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Aw, come on, not even for a snack or two?

Pegasusmon suddenly gets into the idea with T.K.'s bribes.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: Alright, I'm sold. Let's go get a better listen to whatever it is.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Hup, boy.

T.K. and Pegasusmon are on their way to see what the beautiful sound is. They start to listen once again to it and at least hear where it was coming from. Unfortunately, however, on the way there, Pegasusmon flies up while doing a few figure eights. One of which results in his human friend, T.K., falling right off of Pegasusmon and right into the river. When the horse-like creature looks back upon his human friend, T.K. is seething in enough anger for that to simply dry him off from the river water.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: I'm_ really_ very sorry_ about_ that_ T.K..

But, T.K. is still far too seething in anger at his horse-like companion's figure eights. In fact, he is so angry with Pegasusmon that when the horse-like creature tries to help his human friend back up, T.K. only splashes some of the river water at poor Pegasusmon in his rage.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Now, there will be no snacks.

Meanwhile with the owner of the mysterious siren-like voice, Kari is still walking with her animal friends, when the forest animals' noble and just leader who resembles an Egyptian sphinx shows up just in time to greet the girl.

Forest Animals' Leader: Welcome back, my dear. Oh my, how you've grown.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh yes, Lady Nefertimon. In fact, I've been thinking a lot recently about my life and right now…

Kari then starts to sing.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): I wonder, I wonder, I wonder why each animal has a someone to sing to, sweet things to, a sweet little love melody. I wonder, I wonder if my heart keeps singing, will my song go winging to someone who'd find me, and bring back a love song to me?

Her animal friends bring some of the berries she was asked to pick as she sings this song. When she goes back to talking, Nefertimon and her other animal friends continue to revel in her loveliness.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): Oh, dear. Why do they still treat me like a child?

The owl follows after Kari to ask her who.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): Cousins Mimi and Catherine and Yolei. They never want me to meet anyone.

Kari then touches her foot to the river water as Nefertimon flies down to her.

Nefertimon: That certainly does sound like they treat you just like a child.

Kari just giggles in response to Nefertimon's words.

Nefertimon (continued): What are you so giggly about all of sudden, my child?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Because, my dears, I fool them. I have met someone.

Kari's owl friend asked who, once again.

Nefertimon: Indeed, who might you have met outside of the knowledge of even these three cousins of yours?

The owl continues to ask Kari who.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh, a prince.

Nefertimon: You don't say. Well, what exactly is this prince of yours like?

The birds all ask her the same question through their twittering.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Well, he's tall and handsome, and so romantic.

Nefertimon: And what do you do with him?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh, we walk together and talk together and just before we say goodbye, he takes me in his arms and then…

Nefertimon and the other forest animals get overly excited.

Nefertimon: And then what?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: I wake up.

The forest animals slump at the realization.

Nefertimon: Oh, so these encounters of yours are only…

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Yes, it's only in my dreams.

Nefertimon: That is quite a predicament.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: I know, my dear Lady Nefertimon. But they say if you dream something more than once, it's sure to come true because it has to mean something more than to only be a dream, and I've seen him so many times.

Nefertimon: Don't worry, my dear. This dream of yours might become a reality one day.

Kari begins, once again, to vocalize. A squirrel who happens to be on a higher branch when Kari is venting to herself and her dreams suddenly notices a cape being hung from a branch on a further away tree only to be joined by a hat. The squirrel gathers a couple more of the animals. It starts with the owl and two birds, and the owl comes up with a plan. Then, they all get the additional help of the two rabbits.

A little bit later at the tree they spotted the cape from, the six of these forest animals go to gather up the clothes from where the cape and hat are when they hear a voice say…

Male voice: You know, Pegasusmon, there was something strange about that voice.

The voice is soon revealed to be none other than Prince T.K. Takaishi.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Too beautiful to be real.

Pegasusmon munches on a bush in a tree they are near.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: I told it was too good to be true.

Takeru 'T.K' Takaishi: Maybe it was some mysterious being like a wood sprite or…

T.K. does not get to finish, though, since Pegasusmon notices that his human friend's cape, boots, even his hat are suddenly walking away on their own.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: T.K., look out for your things!

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Here! Stop!

A little bit later and closer to Kari, the forest animals dress the owl and the two rabbits up as Kari's ideal prince. It goes well at first since Kari buys into it.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Why it's my dream prince.

She bows to who she thinks is her ideal man.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): Your highness.

Then, she goes up to her 'dream prince'.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): You know, I'm really not supposed to speak to strangers, but we've met before.

Then, Kari begins to sing to 'the love of her life'.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam, yet I know it's true, that visions are seldom all they seem, but if I know you, I know what you'll do, you'll love me at once the way you did once upon a dream.

Then, Kari begins once again to vocalize to her own song. The forest animals are quite enamored by her singing, and apparently so are T.K. and Pegasusmon, from within the nearby bushes where they appear to be watching her vocalize her melody. Then, she begins to sing again just as T.K. grabs his things back from the forest animals.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): But if I know you, I know what you'll do. You'll love me at once…

Then, T.K. starts to sing with her…

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi and Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya:… the way you did…

Kari suddenly realizes that her prince has suddenly spoken up and started to sing along with her song.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi:… once upon a dream.

Kari is startled to discover that her prince has been replaced by a stranger, albeit a very handsome stranger. Then, she takes a closer look at her 'dream prince' and realizes that he is only her animal friends pretending to be her dream prince just to make her feel good.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh.

Then as Kari starts to head over to her animal friends, she feels the handsome stranger grab a hold of her wrist.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: OH!

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: I'm awfully sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you.

Kari tries to get away from this strange young man, but he keeps holding her in his grasp.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh, it wasn't that. It's just that you're a_ a_

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: A stranger?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Mmm-hmm.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: But, don't you remember? We've met before.

Kari grows confused by this idea and does not know what T.K. is talking about.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: We_ we have?

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Of course. You said so, yourself. Once upon a dream.

Then, when realizing that singing her song might just be the only way to convince her that he is telling her the truth, T.K. starts to sing her song himself.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi (continued): I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream…

Kari at first protests, but then as T.K. continues to sing, she almost instantly warms up to him.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi (continued): I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam…

Then, a chorus starts to play for atmosphere between the two of them as T.K. and Kari start to dance together through the forest.

Chorus:… and I know it's true, that visions are seldom all they seem, but if I know you, I know what you'll do, you'll love me at once the way you did once upon a dream.

The forest animals all watched them with elated smiles on their faces. Pegasusmon joined them along with their leader, Nefertimon.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: I know this only happened between the two of them because your disciples stole my human friend's things to begin with, but I must say, my pretty little sphinxlike creature, this setting truly is magical.

Nefertimon: I agree with you, my stunning stead-like creature.

A/N: It looks like T.K. and Kari aren't the only who found love in one another.

But then, Nefertimon turns to face her forest animal disciples.

Nefertimon: But, as for all of you, I'm perfectly aware that you all meant well in bringing back those items and posing as Kari's dream prince, but it was still wrong to steal.

But, only the owl approaches Nefertimon.

Nefertimon (continued): Yes, I do agree that it couldn't have worked out better than this. In bringing the boy here, you all did so well, and I'm very proud of you all for it.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: Let's be quiet, now. My friend, T.K., is asking the girl something.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Who are you? What's your name?

Kari, however, seems so lost in her handsome stranger that she barely even hears what he is asking her.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Hmm? Oh, my name. Why, it's_ it's…

Pegasusmon, Nefertimon, and the forest animals all lean in hear their favorite girl finally tell the love of her life her name. But, then Kari grows worried by this for one reason or another.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): Oh no no no, I can't.

Nefertimon and all of her forest animal disciples are shocked by this.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya (continued): Goodbye.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: But, when will I see you again?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh, never_ NEVER!

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Never?!

Nefertimon and all of Kari's forest animal friends follow her away from the overlooking cliff.

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Well, maybe someday.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: When? Tomorrow?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: Oh no, this evening.

Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Where?

Hikari 'Kari' Yagami/Kamiya: At the cottage in the glen.

All of the forest animals follow Kari.

Nefertimon: I am truly sorry that this meeting had to end on such a sad note, but I must go with my disciples to aid my lady.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: But, perhaps you could tell us her name since you seem to know her.

Nefertimon: I have to confess that even I don't know her name.

Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: Why don't even you know it?

Nefertimon: She won't tell even my forest animals. She's simply been ordered to never talk to strangers by her three cousins who even we have never had the privilege of encountering.
