disclamation: I do not own the 'Digimon' anime, nor do I own Walt Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty'. the only part of this fanfiction that I truly own is the fanfiction, itself.
Back at the cottage with the three good fairies, Catherine is still humming the jaunty little tune to her baking of the birthday cake. Catherine finishes putting on the candles and then lighting them and says…
Catherine Deneuve: Zere!
But, the cake is completely unsteady as it cannot even stand up on its own.
Catherine Deneuve (continued): Oop.
Catherine tries to hold it up with a broom, but it turns out to still be one soggy mess. The frosting even begins to fall off of the cake.
Catherine Deneuve (continued): Well, what do you zink of it?
Mimi and Yolei are on the other side of the room, and Yolei is quite annoyed with being the sewing mannequin. She is even more annoyed when she sees the way the cake is set up. Mimi also turns her own head to look at the cake.
Mimi Tachikawa: Why, it's…
Mimi has hoped to begin by complimenting it, but the nicest thing she can think of to say about it is…
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): It's a very unusual cake, isn't it?
Catherine looks at her work and finally notices the candles starting to fall off the cake along with it's frosting. She begins to get desperate while trying to put the candles back on the cake.
Catherine Deneuve: Of course, it'll be much stiffér once it's baked.
Mimi Tachikawa: Of course, dear.
Catherine comes over to look at the dress that her sister Mimi has made for Kari.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): What do you think of the dress?
The dress looks horrible, too, though.
Catherine Deneuve: Well, it's_ uh, i-i-it's not exactly the way it is in the book, is it?
Mimi Tachikawa: Oh, I improved it. But, perhaps if I added a few more ruffles_ ehm, what do you think?
Catherine Deneuve: Ehm, I zink so. What do you zink, Yolei?
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I think we've had enough of this nonsense.
Then as though she is not angry enough, the dress's hemline for shoulders flaps over her head.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue (continued): I think we oughtta think of our 'Chocolate Rose' and what she'll think of this_ this mess. I still think what I thought before. I'm gonna get those wands.
With that, Yolei marched right upstairs while leaving the mediocre cake and the horrid-looking dress to tear apart with Mimi and Catherine watching.
Catherine Deneuve: You know, I zink she's right.
Yolei suddenly comes running down the stairs with the wands in hand.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Here they are, good as new.
But, Mimi only worries at the sight of the wands.
Mimi Tachikawa: Ah-ah-ah deh-deh-deh-deh, careful, Yolei.
The sixteen years may almost be all over and they might need the wands now, but Mimi is still taking no chances. She takes a quick look around.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Quick, lock the doors. Catherine, you close the windows. Lock up every nook and cranny. We can't take any chances.
Yolei locks all the doors while Catherine closes all the windows and Mimi takes care of all the loose spaces. As soon as they are all finished with locking the room up, Mimi then hands each of them their wands with assignments. She hands Catherine her wand and assignment first.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Now, you take care of the cake.
Yolei comes to claim her wand and assignment.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: While I…
But, Mimi decides Yolei's assignment for her upon handing the pink fairy her wand.
Mimi Tachikawa:… clean the room, dear, and I'll make the dress.
Yolei wants to protest against being placed on clean up duty, but as Catherine puts it…
Catherine Deneuve: Now, hurry.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Oooooh, come on, bucket, mop, broom, Mimi says 'clean up the room'.
The bucket, mop and broom respond to Yolei's command and come to life. All three begin to help Yolei clean up the mess from the awful stuff the other two tried to make without using their magic.
Meanwhile in another corner of the room, Mimi prepares to make Kari's dress.
Mimi Tachikawa: And now, to make a lovely dress, fit to grace a fair princess.
Meanwhile in yet another corner of the room, Catherine is preparing the cake for the birthday party.
Catherine Deneuve: Eggs, flouér, milk_
Catherine suddenly realizes that she does not know how to direct cake ingredients very well. So, she decides to simply…
Catherine Deneuve (continued): Jhust do it like it says here in ze book. I'll put on ze cándelles.
With Catherine's rather impromptu instructions, the ingredients start to put themselves together to bake the cake. First goes in the flour, then the eggs join in, then some milk is poured into the mixture, then some other ingredients and finally the cake is ready to be baked.
Meanwhile in Yolei's area, the pink fairy takes the broom and gets the place all neat and tidy. She sweeps the dirt up, but when she sees nowhere to put it afterwards, she simply uses her wand to merely zap it away.
Meanwhile with Mimi, the green fairy starts to make the loveliest dress one would ever see on a human girl.
Meanwhile from Yolei's end, she begins to lead the mop into a well-executed dance around the room as it mops and cleans up the ashes from all around the fireplace hearth. Then, she leads her enchanted mop on a dancing journey while cleaning up the area around Catherine.
When Yolei makes it to Mimi's corner of the room, she notices something she does not like; the color of the dress that Mimi is making for Kari.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Oh no, not green. Make it pink.
The dress suddenly turns from an shimmering emerald green to a blush-colored tint of pink. Mimi becomes angry with Yolei for this.
Mimi Tachikawa: Yolei! Make it green.
Yolei decides to try to be a little more slick about her approach with turning the dress the color she wants.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Make it pink.
The dress then turns back from an emerald green to the tint of pink that Yolei wants it to be. Mimi starts to get rather unhinged with Yolei's attitude about the color of the dress.
Mimi Tachikawa: Green.
Yolei does not take this challenge to her sense of fashion lying down. So, she tries to pull it again…
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Pink.
Mimi stops Yolei from pulling it off, however, at the expense, though, of her own peasant woman clothes being turned pink by Yolei's magic. Yolei snickers at what she does pull off in messing with Mimi.
But, Mimi does not take this lying down either and hits Yolei back with the same kind of magic that turns Yolei's own peasant woman clothes green.
Pretty soon, an all-out fight breaks out between the two of them over which of the two colors their 'Chocolate Rose's' dress should be. A fight that does not go unnoticed, especially not by a little bat-like creature that shows up in the sky, and strangely enough during the middle of the day.
Bat-like Creature: Huh, flashes of green and pink in the forest glen. Now, there's something you don't see every day. I should probably go check it out, or my name's not Demidevimon.
Demidevimon then swoops down into the glen to notice a cottage in the middle of it. Then, Demidevimon notices the flashes of green and pink coming from the cottage are emanating from beyond the chimney, the one cranny in the cottage the three good fairies neglected to lock up. Demidevimon even gets blasted by a couple of the flashes of magic through the chimney.
Inside the cottage, the fight between Mimi and Yolei only continued and nothing gets done from either one of their assignments. The resulting mess of it all winds up with a color clash of green and pink on the dress.
Mimi Tachikawa: D'oh, now look what you've done.
Meanwhile, Catherine hears Kari coming back and shushes the two of them.
Catherine Deneuve: Listen.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: It's Rose.
Mimi Tachikawa: She's back.
Mimi and Yolei put their rivalry aside and return their peasant woman clothes to normal.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Enough of this foolishness.
Mimi then brings the dress to a chair just long enough to notice it still being a mess of clashing colors.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Make it green.
The dress then turns to it's original green color. Then, Mimi grabs Catherine just before she can finish lighting the candles so she lights them with her wand.
Mimi Tachikawa (continued): Now, hide quick.
Yolei, after getting the dishes all cleaned up and put away, notices the color of the dress is not the color that she wants it to be so she whispers to her wand to make the dress…
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Pink.
