Mimi then flies to the roof of the throne room to tell this information to Catherine and Yolei.
Mimi Tachikawa: Come on, we've gotta get back to the cottage.
Catherine Deneuve: Ze cottáge?
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: But, why now?
Mimi Tachikawa: I'll explain on the way, but we must hurry back to the cottage, now.
All three of them rush back to the cottage in the glen as quickly as they possibly can, but not before Yolei makes the time to put out the last of the lights in the palace. As they rush back to the cottage, Mimi explains the sudden need to get back to them on the way.
Meanwhile back within the forest that evening, Prince T.K. is riding along in the sky just beneath the trees' joint canopy on Pegasusmon's back and whistling to the tune of the mystery girl's song at the very idea of going to see his beloved where she lived.
As he nears the cottage, Prince T.K. feels more and more elated. He adjusts his hat and tries to look a little more presentable for the girl of his dreams. When he looks at Pegasusmon and waves his hands in the air while holding them together, Pegasusmon gives a nod of approval. T.K. knocks on the front door to the cottage and enters upon hearing…
Mysterious Female Voice: Come in.
T.K. takes a good look inside and notices that it's darker than he had imagined his crush's home to look like. Then as though things cannot possibly get any stranger than they already are, they do just that.
The front door closes on its own as though the cottage is haunted. Then, Prince T.K. starts to hear scary voices and feels things grabbing at him.
Finally, the owner of the voice he had heard outside just a few minutes ago presents herself as a witch… not just any witch, though. She is none other than Laylamon, the digital mistress of all evil.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Well, this is a pleasant surprise. I set my trap for a peasant and, lo, I catch a prince!
T.K. is completely angry with her as he is now tied up and gagged.
Laylamon cackles up an evil chuckle.
Lillithmon/Laylamon (continued): Away with him, but gently, my pets, gently. I have plans for our royal guest.
They even capture Pegasusmon and take him away against his own will, too. Luckily for the two of them and the three good fairies, someone happens to be watching them from a distance. Actually, it is an assortment of someones. The leader of the someones sees the way it happens, and she is enraged yet afraid.
Feminine voice: Did you just see that? They captured our lady's love.
An owl and several birds hoot and tweet at her about the whole thing.
Feminine voice (continued): Of course, I want to go after them, but that was the digital mistress of all evil, herself. She's the most powerful and destructive force in the land. I may be your leader, but even my strength is no match for her. We would need help.
Suddenly they notice a few mysterious lights come rushing in and looking like they're in a hurry. The figure with the animals steps out of the shadows and reveals herself to be none other than Nefertimon, the forest animals' leader, and finally heads towards the cottage to get a better look at the lights that have just flown into the cottage.
Nefertimon: Who do you suppose that was?
The owl among her forest animal followers hooted something to her.
Nefertimon (continued): No, they couldn't have any minion of Laylamon's. They were much too bright in appearance.
Nefertimon and her forest animals follow the three lights inside only to hear three women gasp at something or other.
Mimi, Catherine and Yolei gasp upon seeing a hat on the floor of their cottage. Mimi picks the hat up, and they all at once realize it was…
Mimi Tachikawa, Catherine Deneuve, and Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Laylamon!
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: She's got Prince T.K.!
Mimi Tachikawa: At the Forbidden Mountain!
Catherine just gasps at even the very mention of such a place.
Catherine Deneuve: But, we can't-we can't go zere!
Mimi Tachikawa: We can and we must!
Nefertimon and the animals of the forest all join them inside. The three good fairies hold out their wands prepared for whomever it is that has snuck into their cottage, but lower their wands when they realize that it is only Nefertimon and her forest animals.
Nefertimon: You know of the wicked witch, Laylamon, who took our friend's love?
They all nod to the sphinxlike creature who governs the forest animals, as she shines only light.
Nefertimon (continued): I think I might know someone who can help aid us in our rescue of this 'Prince T.K.' in time to be reunited with our friend.
Mimi Tachikawa: What are you after in this?
Nefertimon: I don't want anything in this; what if I said that to you? What would you think of me then?
Catherine Deneuve: I zink we should listen to what she has to say.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I don't normally agree with Catherine, but I can sense trust worth in this mysterious being.
Mimi Tachikawa: So, what exactly do you want from this rescue mission?
Nefertimon starts to turn a slight tint of pink at the question.
Nefertimon: Let's just say that this 'Prince T.K.' came to us with someone who immediately became as precious to me as T.K., himself, is to our friend.
Mimi Tachikawa: Are you possibly talking about…
Nefertimon: You are correct. I am in love with Pegasusmon, and I want save him, just as I hope to be of any help I can be in rescuing my friend.
Mimi Tachikawa, Catherine Deneuve, and Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Rose!
Nefertimon: Is that her name or is that just you call her?
Mimi Tachikawa: It is what we had called her through the time of which we raised her.
Nefertimon: So, you three are the three cousins we all heard about before.
Mimi Tachikawa: I'm Mimi.
Catherine Deneuve: My name is Catherine.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: My name's Miyako, but I prefer to go by Yolei.
Nefertimon: I am Nefertimon, ruler of these forest creatures.
The forest animals all present themselves to Mimi, Catherine and Yolei. Then, they began their journey to Laylamon's domain at the castle atop of the forbidden mountain in the darkest reaches of the land.
Mimi Tachikawa: No time to lose. We must travel to the forbidden mountain to rescue Prince T.K. so he can fulfill his destiny to marry Princess Hikari Yagami/Kamiya, better known as Princess Kari.
Nefertimon: Who is this Princess Hikari? I thought you said your supposed cousin's name was Rose.
Mimi Tachikawa: I said that it was merely what we called her during the sixteen years of which we raised her. Her real name and title is Princess Hikari Yagami/Kamiya, known to her friends as Princess Kari.
Nefertimon: Did you just say Kari, as in the Princess Kari?
The three good fairies all nod their heads.
Nefertimon (continued): You are right once again, one called Mimi. We must rescue Prince T.K. from Laylamon's clutches.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: You told us you knew of someone who just might be able to further help us.
Nefertimon: A friend of mine who knows his way around Laylamon's castle. A spy who works for the forces of good from directly inside of her castle as one of her highest ranking and most trusted minions.
Mimi Tachikawa: You know someone who pretends to be one her side, but is actually a spy for the forces of good?
Nefertimon: Under the cover of his rank as a minion of Laylamon's, he uses the name 'Wizardmon'. He pretends to be one of her only competent warriors, but in truth he is a double agent working to bring her down.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I've heard that name before, I've actually even met him once.
Mimi Tachikawa: Even you know him, Yolei?
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Know him?! He had me cornered one time until, for some unknown reason out of nowhere, he simply let me leave completely intact and unscathed. Guess his true status as a spy for the forces of good would explain why he just let me go that time. The only thing that's really bothering me about it is my curiosity as to who he possibly is a spy for.
