Two months ago Yui Baker got a call from one of her old friends back in Japan. Her daughter Yuki our main protagonist had just gotten home from school when she was told that two would be leaving in a few days. "Your Baachan isn't doing so well," Yuki didn't know her grandmother as well as she'd like to. Both her grandparents on her father's side were dead, and Yuki met her Baachan twice and from what she remembered she was really nice and sweet and would offer her candies.
Yuki didn't hesitate she rushed to her room and started packing. Her mom needed to go home and she would help and spend as much time with her Baachan as much as possible. Calls were made and a week later the two were on a flight to Tokyo. Yuki could see how worried her mother really was.
She hasn't been doing the best. Her dad was a pro hero in America but died in a freak accident with one of the villains...no one survived. Yui told her that she was a lot like her dad, they shared a similar quirk. Her dad was able to do shadow manipulation. His hero's name was Shadow Man. He had many followers any a few fan clubs but Yuki knew he loved her mom.
Her mom had a small transporting quirk. She could walk through walls and reappear on the other side. She didn't want to be a hero, there were too many. And somehow with their love they made Yuki, she possessed traits from both her parents but mostly took on her dad's manipulation.
Yuki was able to use her shadow and transport to another area as long as there was another shadow close by. She couldn't go far right now but it was nice at night when she wanted to get a midnight snack and didn't want to wake her mom or get caught.
After two plane changed the two finally made it to Tokyo where a young ash blonde woman stood holding a sign that read Baker on it. Tears welled in Yui's eyes as she clutched her daughters hand and rushed them over to the woman. Behind the ash blond woman was a boy with identical hair who was grumbling arms crossed over his chest and a nice looking male with brown hair standing beside him.
"Mitsuki!" Yui cried letting go of her daughters hand to throw herself onto the woman. The two women shared a long hug, the other woman rubbing her hand up and down her moms back and giving her comforting words. Yuki wasn't sure what to do she looked around unsure of herself there were so many people here in Tokyo that she felt she might get lost.
"Suki this is my daughter Yuki," she heard her mother's voice echoed through her ears. Looking back she gave the woman with red eyes a kind smile and waved somewhat awkwardly. "Nice to meet you ma'am." she muttered in japanese.
"Yui she's so cute!" the woman gushed happily "And she looks just like you too!" Well yes, she looked almost exactly like her mom. Purple hair, small nose, heart shaped faces, plump lips, and whatnot. But the eyes were different. While her mom's were purple her eyes were Yellow. They practically glowed in the dark. Her eyes were definitely her father's and she loved it, she loved having something to remind her of him when looking at herself everyday.
"Yui, you remember my husband Masuro," The man with brown hair, square glasses and a light mustache gave a big smile and a wave walking forward to hug Yui then gave Yuki a handshake. "Nice to meet you sir,"
"And this is our son Katsuki." Yuki stared at the angry boy behind them glaring at us. "Get over here and say Hi!" Mitsuki growled glaring at her son.
"Why should I?! I'm not here to make fucking friends!" Yuki's eyes widen hearing his rough voice and language. Oh boy. If she talked like that to her mom, she'd be dead. "Why you little…!" Mitsuki smacked the back of Katsuki's head and forced him over "Be nice!" She gave Yui a small smile again "We can take you to our house so you can drop your bags off first. I know you want to see your mom."
Yui almost started to cry again. Yuki spoke up instead of her mother "Thank you Miss Mitsuki," her mom held her shoulders tightly to hold herself back "Go take their bags Katsuki."
"Why should I! They've got arms don't they?!" Smacking her son's head a few more times Bakugo Katsuki yanked Yuki's back out of her hand and stormed off toward the car grumbling under his breath about stupid old hag and her stupid friends being lazy.
The cab ride was sort of cramped Masaru took the front seat with the cab driver, while Yui and Matsuki sat in the back with the kids, Katsuki and Yuki squished together unable to move. "Get out of my way."
"I would if I could." she grumbled back having to be forced having this jerk of a boy around her age be in her personal bubble. "Here we go this is better." Mitsuki called pulling Yui into her lap almost as if she weighed nothing at all. Yui blushed furiously when the kids were able to scooch away from each other "Mitsuki you don't have to do that I-I could have just had…"
"Nonsense we used to sit like this all the time, don't you remember?" the ash blond woman giggled. The drive was a little more bearable but Katsuki and Yuki were still touching. When they reached the city portion of the drive Yuki practically threw herself over Katsuki to stare out the window. She has only ever been her twice but the sight never changed. It was incredible. The lights on the buildings, the people walking around; the shops, all of it was just incredible.
Katsuki grumbled a light red blush coating his cheeks at the girl for bursting in his bubble, he'd never admit it to anyone but he did find it rather cute seeing her reaction. Reaching a hand out he pushed her face off of him and back into her seat. "Get the fuck off me already!"
"Sorry," she muttered only somewhat.
Pulling up to the decent looking house the Bakugo's got out Masaru and Katsuki taking the bags inside. The cab pulled away again and drove them to the hospital. As soon as Yuki saw her Baachan she knew it wasn't good. She was hooked up to all sorts of machines she looked deathly pale, her eyes looked so tired.
"Baachan," she rushed to her grandmother's side like her mother had "Hi baachan," she whispered softly taking the elder woman's soft hand into her own. She felt the woman give a soft squeeze of her fingers.
"Yuki? Is that you dear?" she whispered unsure. "It's me Baachan," she stayed close giving the older woman a smile "I missed you Baachan."
"Mama, what happened?" Yui whispered softly clutching her mothers hand tightly. The older woman let out a pained laugh that ended up causing her to cough for a minute or two. "I slipped is all. Won't let me go home." she grumbled the last part to Yuki causing the girl to giggle a bit.
Her mother sighed with relief "I was worried."
"You worry too much dear, the doctor says I can come home in a few days." Mitsuki sighed with relief. "You had ua all worried there Mama," The older woman waved her hand dismissively smiling at her darling granddaughter.
"How else am I able to see my precious granddaughter?" she grumbled annoyed, Yuki snickered leaning forward to place a kiss on her cheek "I missed you too Baachan!" Yui huffed glaring at her mother.
"Mama your doctor called me! You almost had to have surgery!"
Baachan waved her hand again, "You worry too much, I'm not having any surgery. Now do me a favor and go get Yuki and me something to snack on. Mitsuki you can get us some tea these people won't listen to me when I ask for a nice cup of tea."
Yuki giggled again shaking her head she hasn't seen her grandma act this way. But she liked it "Mama!" Yui grumbled still not happy to be tricked by her mothers theatrics. "You shouldn't worry me like that Mama." Turning away with a giggling Mitsuki.
Yuki's Baachan grinned deviously "It's so easy to bother her." The room filled with laughter alerting some of the nurses walking through the hallway. "So tell me, how have you been. Tell me everything I've missed."
Yuki talked about her school and the few friends she did have. She showed her some of the pictures on her phone from her everyday life. Her Baachan cringed watching Yuki shadow travel from one spot and fall through the ceiling of another.
Mitsuki and Yui returned and Yuki learned what her grandmothers quirk was. Her Baachan had her cracking up on the floor with all the different impersonation she made. Eventually they were forced to leave but Yuki promised to come early the next day.
And that's how it happened over the next few days Yui and Yuki stayed at the Bakugo household. Yui and Yuki would wake up early and have breakfast with the family then go off to the hospital to stay with Yuki's Baachan. During the time there Yuki has a pretty good idea of where everything was. It was pretty funny learning that Yui and Mitsuki were childhood best friends and that when Yui moved to the states Mitsuki promised to always keep an eye on her mother. Going so far as to move into the house directly next door.
Yui was completely enjoying herself being back in Japan she felt so at home but worried for her daughters sake. Yuki had a life in America, friends that would miss her. And as much as she wanted to stay she knew they would eventually have to go back.
The doctor had stated that someone needs to be with her Baachan at all hours in case of another fall. The woman argued stating she was fine and that she didn't need no babysitter but Yui felt conflicted. She couldn't make this decision alone. She had to make sure Yuki would be okay with it. So after dinner Yui had sat Yuki down on the couch ready to have a serious talk.
"Momma maybe we should stay with Baschan I know your worried about her." Yui's words died in her mouth as she stared at her daughter confused. Did she hear her correctly? "Someone has to watch Baachan and we don't have the funds to pay someone to do it. I know ever since Daddy died you've been wanting to come home."
"Aren't you worried you'll upset your friends?"
Shrugging her shoulders Yuki smirked at her mother "Family's more important, besides I was talking to Katsuki and he told me that the best hero school in the world is here in Japan called UA. I'm going to enroll."
"Sweetie applications don't start for another four months…" she shrugged her shoulders again "I'm going to be one of the best hero's out there so while I'm studying you can take care of Baachan. Plus Mrs. Mitsuki told me that if we stay here you two can spend even more time together and I can torture Katsuki." One of the reasons why Yuki wanted to stay was because she loved torturing the jerk living up above them.
A chuckle escaped her mother's lips at the words she heard. "A-and your positive your okay with this?"
"Yeah!"
"Thank you Yuki."
"That's what a Hero does, they help those who need it most and momma you need to be here."
Over the next couple weeks Yuki was officially enrolled into Katsuki's school much to the boys annoyance. Everything in Japan was so different from back in America they taught thing differently but she understood. She even made a new friend. A boy with dark green hair who looked like a complete cinnamon roll.
Yui and Yuki eventually moved out of the Bakugo household and into her Baachan's next door. Didn't stop Yuki from joining Mrs. Mitsuki for breakfast in the morning. Katsuki thought she was the neighbor from hell something she took great pleasure in.
In school Yuki had gotten into many fights with Katsuki over his bullying towards Izuku. He might not have a quirk but she still liked him heck after he found out about her quirk she joked stating that maybe his quirk was hyper awareness when it came to everyone's power and figuring out the best way to beat them.
The applications to join UA came in and Yuki trained long and hard till she was sure she'd be accepted. She went on a run three times a day, hating herself in the beginning because she wasn't the best fan of cardio but soon found Izuku to be her running buddy in the morning and Katsuki to be her running budding in the afternoon. Mid day she would be by herself. Strength training was another area where she wasn't the best at. She somehow convinced Katsuki to spar with her and to put extra icing on the cake she told him that it was a way he could kick her ass for all the times she bothered him. With a little convincing from his mom Katsuki and Yuki became sparring partners and she could feel herself growing stronger and stronger.
The time for the test arrived faster than she thought it would. She thought she still had more time but soon enough she was running to the school and trying to calm her nerves. Yuki got a few looks because she didn't look Japanese but ignored it. Hyping herself up. "You better not fuck this up Baker." Katsuki warned cracking his neck with anticipation.
"You either. I plan on being the number one I'm going to need you as my side kick." Yuki teases getting a glare from the boy "IF ANYONES GOING TO BE ANYONES FUCKING SIDE KICK ITS YOU!" She snickers to herself already knowing she'd get that sort of reaction.
Okay so they were going to be fighting some robots it seemed. And it was based on a point system. Depending on the robot it could be between one point and three points. Meaning that all I had to do was take down as many as I could and ignore the zero pointer then I was a shoo in to get into this school.
As soon as the test started everyone and I mean everyone ran and it was a fight to get as many points as you could. Katsuki wasted no time in destroying as many as he possibly could. Getting to work Yuki fell backwards into her shadow only to fall into one of the shadows of the larger three pointer robot. Stomping her foot down she watched the shadow start to glow before the robotic creature disappeared from sight. A crashing sound could be heard as the robot she just sent away collided with a two pointer.
All was going good, she was destroying robots left and right gaining as many points as she could until the zero pointer arrived. It was bigger than the others, the biggest of them all. It was also causing the most destruction! Everyone was running away screaming terrified forgetting that this was a test. Someone was stuck under the rubble
She would die if someone didn't help! She felt a hard grip on her wrist tugging her another direction "Get your head out of your ass! Move it Baker!" Katsuki snarled rushing away from the robot.
"Someone's back there!"
"Who cares!"
Growling Yuki ripped her arm free and ran the other way. There wasn't much time bending down quickly she was able to toss the cinder blocks off the girl and haul her to her feet. "Come on!" glancing up I saw Izuku smash the zero pointer to bits! He saved her and Yuki as well she realized but at that height he could die. Thinking quickly the round faced girl started tapping the blocks and started to float her above. Stomping her foot down on the shadow the giant monster started to disappear. The round faced girl had enchanted a bunch debris creating steps! Izuku! If she couldn't save him Yuki would.
Jumping through the air she felt the force of Izuku's body slam into her own. Splaying her flat on her face with Izuku sprawled over her. They were okay. The three of them were all okay. She just hoped she did well enough to pass this test.
So this is new for me. I've never written a My Hero story and I feel the need to. I've had this idea stuck in my head for a long time and I just...I wanted to write it out and see if it gets any attention. I don't think it will but I have different scenarios running through my brain at different times through the series and I just needed to get this on paper more or less. And I'm sorry if it seemed sort of rushed during some scenes I didn't want to have to write out the entrance exam and get right into the story! I'm already working on the next chapter. So I guess please leave a review and let me know what you think. No pairings yet...well thats a lie. Its probably going to be a Bakugo and OC fanfic.
