disclamation: I do not own the 'Digimon' anime. I also do not own Walt Disney's animated classic of 'Sleeping Beauty'. I'm afraid that the fanfiction, itself, is still the only part of this fanfiction which I truly own.
Nefertimon, Mimi, Catherine and Yolei all make to the forbidden mountain by the next night. The three good fairies try to hide in plain sight by shrinking themselves down to the size of ordinary flies. Meanwhile, Nefertimon comes to the stable where Laylamon and her minions are holding Pegasusmon hostage. She sees her old friend, Wizardmon, tending to Pegasusmon's wounds as well his food and water needs.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: There you go, my friend. I hope you like your snacks to not be stale, and I brought you some fresh water that hasn't been contaminated by the sludge and mold around here. I know you prefer it to how you were treated when you and Prince T.K. first arrived here together this time yesterday, Pegasusmon.
Pegasusmon is more than grateful to Wizardmon's catering to his desires and aiding the healing of the horse-like creature's wounds.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: Thank you, Wizardmon. You're very kind. In fact, you are the only who has been this nice to both T.K. and myself during our forced stay in this prison of isolation. Within only one day, you have already become my favorite warden guard here. I will never forget your kindness to us both.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: A friend of mine once told me that a little bit of kindness, no matter how small or to whom, can go a long way. This friend taught me that all creatures have good inside them, although I have my doubts about Laylamon.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: That's another thing I notice in you; you don't refer to Laylamon with the title of 'my lady' like all her other minions. Why is that?
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: I am fully aware that I do not exactly look it, but I am not really on her side. I am only here to help my true employer who is another friend of mine bring her to justice for her crimes against the forces of good. But, you heard nothing of that from me.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: My lips are sealed, my newest ally.
Suddenly, the two of them hear a female's voice come from out of nowhere.
Feminine Voice: But, I don't know if I could handle keeping my mouth shut about this information.
Wizardmon grows fearful that it is Laylamon coming to punish him for not joining in on the celebration soon enough. But as luck still smiles upon him, it turns out to be someone else entirely. Nefertimon steps out of the fog and into their sight.
Nefertimon: Hello again, my old friend.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: I thought you were going to be Laylamon, looking to punish me for not joining the celebration.
Pegasusmon is quite happy to see his beloved here providing a light to cut through the fog.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: You're here.
Nefertimon: My love!
They start to fly to one another with shining tears in their heart-shaped eyes, but the chain which is connected to his hoof suddenly yanks on poor Pegasusmon as he starts to keel back down to the floor in agony.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Are you alright, Pegasusmon?
Wizardmon pulls the chain's iron band off of his hoof a little to make sure that nothing is too broken. Luckily, Wizardmon finds nothing but a sore spot on Pegasusmon's ankle.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon (continued): Bad news, you won't be able to walk for some time; good news, it will only be a few hours before you're all healed up, and you can still fly. Just don't push yourself too hard.
Nefertimon: Are you sure that he won't need a physician or any type of doctor, Wizardmon?
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: How do know this mysterious being, Nefertimon?
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: She was the first friend of mine I told you about, the one who taught that everyone has good within them.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: Is this true, Nefertimon?
Nefertimon: I know him, alright. I see he's still hoping for the chance to dropkick Laylamon off of her pedestal of self-lust.
Pegasmon/Pegasusmon: You'll need to get T.K. out of the dungeon before you can hope to help me, my darling Nefertimon.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: 'Darling Nefertimon', huh?
Nefertimon blushes at being called Pegasusmon's darling and then being teased about it by Wizardmon.
Nefertimon: Oh, shut up!
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: You stay here and tend to your boyfriend. I'll go help the prince. I'm expected to attend the celebration, anyway. I don't think that you will be able to handle it since you most likely came alone.
Nefertimon: I was in no way alone upon my arrival to the hell whole of a castle.
Wizardmon is surprised by this as Nefertimon puts her head over Pegasusmon's head. Wizardmon suddenly comes back to them to ask who came to the forbidden mountain with his old friend.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Let me guess, you brought your forest animal disciples with you?
Nefertimon: Never would I risk their lives for something they would most definitely get hurt in even trying. I came here with three fairies.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Oh great, more evil fairies, as if Laylamon isn't enough trouble as it is.
Nefertimon: Wrong again, my old friend. The fairies I brought here with me are on the side of pure good. You'll know them all when you see them, but right now they are probably shrunken to the size of flies.
Wizardmon is puzzled by this statement of Nefertimon's about the fairies being that small, but he composes himself long enough to at least learn these fairies' names from his old friend.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Really, now? What might the names of these fairies be?
Nefertimon: Well, there's Mimi Tachikawa, then there's Catherine Deneuve, and finally there is Miyako Inoue, who prefers to be called by the name of Yolei.
Wizardmon is at first unimpressed by the names of these fairies that Nefertimon tells him…
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Sure, I'll help alright. I'm so sure that this Mimi, Catherine and Miyako AKA Yolei can…
… until the last name he lists in response to Nefertimon having told him about the three good fairies hits him like a brick to the face.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon (continued): Did you say Yolei? As in Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue? That's a name I haven't heard in quite a while. Alright, I'm sold. I shall help these three fairies in their endeavor.
Wizardmon eventually made it to the celebration where everyone else was awaiting him.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon (continued): I apologize for arriving this late for the celebration, Lady Laylamon. Please, I promise to make up for it by volunteering for guard duty. Then, I shall join you when it is time to feed the prisoner.
A/N: Sure, Wizardmon calls Laylamon by the title of 'lady' in her presence, but in all honesty, that is the only time he ever calls Laylamon by that title.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: You're still on probation, though.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Please, I'll start the evening by guarding the gates to make sure that no one gets in and when it's time to switch shifts, I'll be right back at the celebration. Then, I'll make it up you and you alone by joining you in your visit to see your prisoner so that I won't ever leave your side for the whole evening.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Why, Wizardmon, I know you're my newest minion, but you're still the most diligent of them all. I could've used someone like you in the years that we were searching for Princess Kari. I guess you must have a crush on me, don't you, lover boy?
Wizarmon/Wizardmon's thoughts: Not on your life, you wretched witch.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Obviously, I must be madly in love with you, my lady.
Just saying that sentence almost makes Wizardmon feel sick to his stomach, no matter how beautiful Laylamon is on the outside.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Thank you so much for the compliment, my loyal subject, but I think I would very much prefer to keep things professional between us, if you don't mind.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon's thoughts: I've never had so much desire to keep things strictly professional between anyone else and myself in my entire life. You may look beautiful, but you're so vain and arrogant that your personality traits repulse me beyond all reasoning.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: I'll be taking the next guard shift if anyone should wanna know where I am.
Then outside at the gate of the castle, Mimi, Catherine and Yolei are still the size of flies and trying to get into the castle, when they notice a guard at the gate. They try to circle back to avoid the guard, bob and weave, literally any maneuver they can think of, but they just cannot escape this guard's diligence. Just when said guard has the three of them in his sights, they hear a voice of some sort from this guard. They all look up to see it is, and Yolei recognizes the guard in question as…
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: It's you. You're the one who had me cornered that day and then let me go for an unknown reason. It's OK, you two. It's Wizardmon, the friend that our Chocolate Rose's friend told us about.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Alright, Yolei, enough wisecracks and pleasantries. Hurry up and hop into my cape. You'll be safe from my false allies inside of it. Then when we go inside, we wait for the right time and I take the three of you to the dungeon where Prince T.K. is being held. Then, you three break him out with your good fairy magic while I distract my false comrades at the celebration, giving all of you the time you need to escape with Prince T.K., Pegasusmon, and Nefertimon.
Mimi Tachikawa: We got the plan, Wizardmon.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: One other thing; Pegasusmon is currently injured, but it should disappear within a few hours from now.
Wizardmon makes sure to keep the three good fairies well hidden in his cape as he is relieved of guard duty and goes right back to the celebration of Laylamon finally achieving victory…
A/N: or so she thinks.
Wizardmon heads to Laylamon's side where she wholeheartedly greets him.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: You're just in time to join in on the celebration as well as your leading lady. My favorite minion, Wizardmon, and my beloved pet, Demidevimon.
PicoDevimon/Demidevimon: Aye aye, M'lady Laylamon.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Such a pity that Prince T.K. can't be here to enjoy the celebration.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: You wish to go cheer him up about missing it, Lady Laylamon?
Laylamon just chuckles at this.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Something like that, my dear Wizardmon. Come, you two, and let's go to the dungeon to do just that.
The three, or rather, the six of them all head down the stairs to the dungeon. Demidevimon flies all around Laylamon as she walks down to the dungeon. The three good fairies continue to remain hidden within Wizardmon's cape.
Upon reaching the room in which Prince T.K. is being held, Wizardmon tries to keep Mimi, Catherine, and Yolei completely concealed until the time is right.
Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: I can't take this waiting, anymore. I say we break the prince out of here, right now.
Mimi and Catherine have to hold her back, though.
Mimi Tachikawa: You know we can't until Wizardmon and Prince T.K. are the only ones left in the cell with us.
Demidevimon flaps his wings happily as his mistress Laylamon approaches Prince T.K., while Wizardmon sadly watches this torture.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Oh, come now, Prince T.K., why so melancholy? A wonderous future lies before you. You are the destined hero of a charming fairy tale come true.
PicoDevimon/Demidevimon: Tell him the plotline of the story, M'lady Laylamon.
Laylamon uses her glowing purple scepter to pull forth the plotline of the fairy tale.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Behold, King Susumu and Queen Yuuko's castle, and yonder top most tower, dreaming of her true love, the Princess Hikari, better known as Princess Kari. But, see the gracious whim of fate, why, 'tis the selfsame peasant maid who won the heart of our noble prince but two days ago. She is, indeed, most wonderous fair, brown of chocolate in her hair, eyes that shame the crimson rose. In ageless sleep, she finds repose.
Then, Laylamon appears in her own scepter where she takes the place of the beautiful Princess Kari.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: The years roll by. But, a hundred years, to a steadfast heart, are but a day. And now, the gates of a dungeon part, and our prince is free to go his way. Off he rides on his noble steed, a valiant figure, straight and tall to wake his love with love's first kiss and prove that true love conquers all.
T.K. is just about ready to strangle Laylamon, but is held back by his own chains and cuffs. Yolei tries to rush in to stop this torture, but Wizardmon holds her back before she can have the chance, as to remind her that it is not the right time as of yet. Unfortunately, Demidevimon hears Yolei loudly enough to start getting suspicious.
PicoDevimon/Demidevimon's thoughts: What was that? I think I just heard someone in here with us.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Come, Demidevimon, let's leave our noble prince with these happy thoughts.
Then, Laylamon cackles as she begins to walk away, leaving T.K. to struggle to break free from the chains even more.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Coming, Wizardmon?
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: I'll stay here for a bit. You two can go on ahead, and I'll meet you back upstairs when I'm done here.
PicoDevimon/Demidevimon: I don't we should leave him alone with the prisoner, Lady Laylamon. I'm just saying.
Demidevimon was worried about leaving Wizardmon alone with Prince T.K., but Laylamon was too happy to listen to her pet.
Lillithmon/Laylamon: I'll let him since I've had a most gratifying day.
Laylamon hands Wizardmon the key to…
Lillithmon/Laylamon: Lock him back up when you're finished feeding him. For the first time in the past sixteen years, I shall sleep well tonight.
But, Demidevimon is still suspicious of Wizardmon. They head back to the celebration, anyway.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: I hope you're hungry because I brought you a little something.
Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Thank you very much, Wizardmon. In just the one day of me being here, you are the only one who has treated either me or Pegasusmon with any kindness whatsoever.
When Wizardmon and Prince T.K. are finally alone, Wizardmon tells Mimi, Catherine and Yolei from inside of his cape…
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: The coast is clear. You can come out, now.
Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Who are you talking to, Wizardmon?
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Let's just say that I brought you more than just food and water this time, your majesty.
Prince T.K. is confused by what Wizardmon, his most compassionate jailer, means when the mage-like man tells T.K. that he brought him more than just food and water. At least, the prince is confused until he sees that Wizardmon had brought him help in the form of the three good fairies once they all appear to him.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: Now, you all should escape while I have the rest of those celebrating goons distracted.
Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: In just one day under this imprisonment, you've done so much for me and for Pegasusmon, Wizardmon. I can't even begin to imagine how I can possibly ever thank you for your kindnesses.
Wizarmon/Wizardmon: How about saving your princess from her eternal sleep as soon as these three release you?
Takeru 'T.K.' Takaishi: Sounds good to me.
Wizardmon returns to the celebration to distract the witch's goons, as he called his false comrades.
