The soft chime of a doorbell rang out in a sparsely decorated apartment, a blonde foreigner asleep in her bed. Again the person ringing the bell pressed the button for it over again, and yet no answer. The person not giving up began to bang on the door. It was enough to wake the person out of their slumber, she unconsciously reached for a phone on her nightstand. With one eye closed her emerald orb landed on the display 'June 8th 13:00' clear on the screen. 'Ah my head is killing me.' she thought, getting off the bed. A quick stretch later she was in front of a mirror that faced the foot of her bed, opening her left eye to reveal her heterochromia, that being draconic deep orange eye with a slit pupil.
She made to leave the bedroom to answer the door but was stopped by a voice booming in her head. 'Lucia your eye, it's out in the open.'
Stopping in her tracks making it halfway from her room to the door. She stared up at the ceiling as if mid-thought. "Ah. Sorry, I forgot." She then turned back all the while the knocking on her door continued intermittently, getting annoyed she shouted towards it. "Calm your tits, I will be right with..." She paused speaking with a mind-melting headache. 'Why did I agree to go drinking with them again.' She asked the disembodied voice in her head.
'It was the last time you were going to see them for a while, I don't blame you. You, humans, are sentimental like that. I remember the day we met six years ago, you were sobbing over that little boy that you had to leave behind. To think the headstrong adolescent that made a contract with me turned into what you have become. I have not had a sense of pride in anything other than myself, but I can say that is the case with you. Azure Dragon.'
'Why did you have to remind me of that Qinglong, I have been trying to forget my weakness.' She thought, clenching her fist.
'Caring for those around you is not a weakness Lucia in fact if more of my kind did we may not be on the brink of extinction.'
Back in front of the same mirror, she looked at the reflection of her seeing the seventeen-year-old from that time. The teen with disheveled ash blonde hair, the same emerald pool looking back at her, that same side cheek stained with tears despite the bored expression, and where her different colored eye was, a hole, a missing eye, an eye she had now. She closed her eyes and when they opened the nightmare-inducing image. She was in the tank top and shorts that were her sleeping wear. On the right corner of the white standing mirror was a black eye patch hanging from it. Fixing her as she put it over her left, thinking to herself she knew what was coming next. 'Don't.'
'You will have to face it sooner or later Lucia. I won't be here forever, it will be better if you do so sooner. Keep in mind you still have one wish left.'
The same bored expression that the reflection had crossed her face, ignoring the voice she moved the front door again tying her hair in a half-tail. Opening her door the mood she was in went from bad to worse. A brown-headed middle-aged gentleman with a streak of blonde in the bangs of his short hair. "What do you want, Azazel?" Lucia spoke with no patience in her tone.
Azazel playing with a large box smiled slyly looking up at her. "Well you don't look well, and I heard from a little birdy that you were leaving Tokyo for Kuoh. That being the case I wanted to give you my apology gift now. Father knows when the next time we will be seeing each other." Finishing he passed the box over. Unwrapping the gift packaging she lifted a blue racing helmet with gold trim. Azazel was disappointed when the young woman disregarded it, throwing aside in her foyer, leaning on her door frame in the process. "Hey, do you know what I had to go through to procure that for you, Pendragon?" This statement was met with a scoff.
"Let's skip the bullshit of you nearly destroying my S15, you don't care so just get to why you are really here."
"That's where you are wrong my dear, in fact, it's my objective to keep you happy while we are business partners. So I ask you to take my sincerity as is. As for why I am visiting... " A cloud formation appeared in front of him, pulling out a folder and handing it to her. "I have a problem with a project that could use your touch, since I can't publicly interfere with the families of the other devil kings, and devils, in general, cannot enter without drawing attention to themselves or can I risk your aunt's ire."
Lucia opened the folder taking a look before her lips curled upwards and the voice in her head broke into a hysterical laugh. Her hand traced the document inside before her mood shifted to a more serious one and her face reset to a more neutral expression. 'Can I kill him, Qinglong?' She accidentally let out her killing intent as she stared at Azazel with the unobstructed eye, the dark green pigment fading to white.
'You better not, we still need him for now. The last two months of my life with you are going to be quite entertaining. Not that the quiet with you as my companion was not.'
Azazel did not know what was happening, did he make a mistake bringing this to her? 'No that can't be it.' he watched wryly, his hands behind his back a cold sweat forming.
Lucia's hands closed the document, passing it back to him which he caught with one. She spoke calmly but the finality of her tone drew fear from the man. "I would rather not, and for you, I hope this is the last time you bring anything like this to me. Now get out of here, as you can see I am not in the mood to be bothered any further." She finished slamming the door in his face.
Azazel at a loss opened the folder revealing a torn picture of Raynare in her Yuuma disguise happily hopping on the back of someone that was removed from the image. His blood ran cold, readjusting the maroon three-piece suit he was in he vehemently searched the folder for the information of the missing person, coming up with torn pages he let the reality of the situation sink in. Taking off in a panic he left Lucia's apartment behind, it was not until he was in the privacy of a side street alleyway did he show any emotion. With a guttural scream, he cursed up a storm kicking at the pavement in frustration. The person in the picture with Raynare was at the right age and shared the same green eyes as the other living Pendragon children to be the child of the former heir, the one person, if Lucia chose to inform, would destroy him without a second thought. "What am I going to do now? I better inform Kokabiel that plans have changed." He looked at the ground solemnly, 'I am sorry old friend but you are going to have to be my scapegoat for a while yet.'
Back with Lucia, she had slumped down as she hugged her knees to her ample chest, the voice in her head offering her a few words. 'What's the plan, Lucia? He is your cousin after all.'
'Anyone that dreams to even hurt him will die at my hands.' The thought was complimented by her hand producing the torn picture and holding it to her chest.
'I know that this is not the appropriate time but your little boy has grown into quite a handsome young man in the last six years. Too bad that he seemed to have found himself a lover. ' The voice giggled at the choked yelp that Lucia gave as a reaction.
'I can't wait to be rid of you.'
'I am going to miss you too, princess.'
