Angelic Prince
EvermoreElements
Prologue

Once upon a time, there lived a royal family. They reigned the Angelic kingdom of Enochia and for the most part, everyone was happy.

However, like all royalty, they did have their enemies. The King and Queen had five beautiful children. The twins, Michael and Lucifer; Gabriel; Raphael; and their youngest Castiel. Lucifer was not thrilled when he discovered that Charles and Rebecca planned to give their crowns to Michael once they give up their reign. Before he left, he swore revenge.

Charles and Rebecca were not too worried. What good could Lucifer do with no armies, no powers (he lost his after he renounced his family), and no hope in hell to kill those who still call him family?

They would live to regret that.

"Oh, where are you?" Gabriel sang as he crawled on all fours around his youngest brother's bedroom. He could hear a small giggle coming from under the bed. Grinning, the second in line crawled over to the bed. Sure enough, he could see the feet of the six-year-old slightly sticking out.

"Got you" he laughed as he grabbed the feet and held the child upside down. Castiel laughed. The youngest Angel wiggled in a bid to get free.

"Let me go!" he laughed. Gabriel dropped him to the bed and started to grab the clothes that lined the bed and started to assist Castiel in putting them on. Gabriel himself was wearing golden trousers with a golden tunic and a white shirt. He wore his golden dress shoes to match the outfit. His mother would be outranged but his father said that these clothes brought out his eyes. Soon enough, Castiel was wearing his dark trousers with a dark blue tunic, white shirt, and black shoes. Castiel pouted up at his favourite brother, black hair going in all directions and bright blue eyes twinkling in the sunlight. Lastly, Gabriel placed Castiel's circlet onto his head and placed the light blue gem forward. He wore his circlet, with his golden gem forward.

"Ready to go?" he asked Castiel. The youngest prince bit his lip but nodded. He jumped off his bed and grabbed Gabriel's hand.

"Let's go," he said. Together, they walked from the rooms and toward the ballroom. The rest of their family stood behind the curtain waiting to be announced. Charles' and Rebecca's crowns were bigger due to the fact that they are the King and Queen. Obviously. Michael's was a bit bigger due to the fact that he was the crown prince. Raphael, being the second youngest, was waiting for Gabriel to stand in front of him and Castiel would join the queue behind them.

Slowly, one by one, the royal family were presented to the court and they all sat on their thrones, or chairs as the three youngest had. Dancing and music filled the room as the hours passed by slowly. Soon enough, Castiel was beginning to fall asleep against Gabriel's shoulder. Even Raphael was hiding his own yawns. Gabriel, at the age of fifteen, was even beginning to feel tired. He could not imagine what the ten-year-old and the six-year were feeling.

At around five minutes to midnight, Charles stood from his throne and made his way to the front of the room.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he called, "tonight we are here to bid farewell to one of my sons. Gabriel had decided that he wants to experience life outside the kingdom and we have allowed him to do so. Michael went on a similar journey, and so shall Raphael and Castiel when their times come…"

"What about me?" a voice asked from the back of the room. Lucifer walked forward from where he had hidden behind a pillar.

"Lucifer?" Rebecca gasped. She had stood from her throne, a hand over her chest as she gasped her son's name.

"Yes, mother. The time has come" snarled Lucifer, "time to pay for all that you took from me. Tonight, I shall take the purest prince from you. Michael shall die, Raphael shall die, Gabriel shall die but Castiel. The shining star of your kingdom. The legacy of a long-hidden prophecy. He shall be mine. And the prophecy shall not come to pass."

Gabriel was confused. What prophecy?

"And this kingdom shall fall. Ruins for the humans to take care of" Lucifer smirked and he opened his arms. Hundreds of red-eyed demons ran into the room, ready to strike. Rebecca screamed as several came straight for her. In an attempt to protect his wife, the king perished.

Gabriel was running with Raphael and Castiel holding his hands.

"We need to get out of here" he was muttering under his breath. Anna, one of the palace guards, came running up.

"This way" she cried. The princes quickly followed, pretending they couldn't hear the screams of Michael dying.

One of the demons caught up to them and grabbed Raphael. Gabriel quickly turned, placing Castiel behind him.

"Let him go" Gabriel snarled. Anna stood close behind, her sword at the ready.

"No," said the demon, red eyes glinting delightfully. He shoved Raphael into one of the other demons, who dragged him from the hall and back into the room. Gabriel went to go after him, to somehow get his brother back but a yell from behind him had him quickly turning.

Castiel was being held behind him by one of the demons. His feet were hanging off the ground as the two of them stood by a nearby window.

"Let him go!" snarled Gabriel, he looked and saw that Anna was out cold nearby.

"Why?" snarled the demon, "orders were clear. You were to die. This little fella was to live. Or die. After all, anything can happen in a takeover."

Gabriel took a deep breath in. Castiel looked over at him and almost seemed to beg him.

Beg him to what? To leave? To run?

"I said, let him go!" Gabriel shouted and began to run toward the demon but a flash of light appeared out of nowhere and Gabriel found himself standing alone, Anna lay still on the ground nearby.

"What?" Gabriel blinked, trying to clear his vision, "Castiel? Castiel!"

Sixteen-year-old Cas woke up, sweating and screaming from his bed in the orphanage.
