"Before we start if you look to your right you will see another door I made appear but you won't be able to go through it unless I force you through it."
"Why can't we go through it, what's in there?" Ghira asked interested in what the person who brought them here was hiding from them.
"And what do you mean unless you force us?" Ironwood asked sounding very suspicious.
"I thought it would be obvious. I was able to bring you here. To a different dimension. That means I can do whatever I want to you. I can force you to do it. Take this as an example."
Winter suddenly went over to her general and punched him in the balls. Hard.
"Why would you do that?" Ironwood asked a shocked Winter in a very high-pitched voice while people like Qrow and Roman were laughing their asses off.
"And to answer your first question that room is my torture chamber."
To say that everyone was a little freaked out would be an understatement.
"Why would you need a torture room?" Ruby asked honestly scared of the answer she would receive.
"Why not. A torture chamber never hurt nobody, well except for the person being tortured but that much is obvious." Roman said nonchalantly while Neo grinned sadistically which freaked a lot of people out.
"I just need it for some of the shit some of you do in the future."
"How is that fair? We can't control what our future selves do!" Hazel asked assuming he would have to go in there since he works for Salem. The same could be said for Mercury and Emerald.
"Well I can't hurt your future selves but I can hurt you and that will satisfy me enough, and besides most of you won't ever visit that room. Anyway, enjoy the show!"
"Soooo... we're just going to ignore that he wants to torture some of us?" Yang asked. No one answered her question. "Okay then."
Volume 1
Chapter 1 Ruby Rose
Everyone turned to look at Ruby for an explanation as to why the first chapter was named after her but she could only shrug in response.
Fade into an image of Beacon Academy
"Hey, it's Beacon!" Ruby said excitedly.
"We can see that you dolt." Weiss shot down that excitement real quick.
An unknown female voice speaks "Legends. Stories scattered through time."
Ozpin dropped his mug, the sound of shattering glass drawing the attention of everyone in the room.
"Oz? Do you know who that is?" Qrow asked concerned once he saw Ozpin shaking in his seat.
Ozpin released a shuddering breath before answering "Yes"
"Well, who is it then." Weiss asked and while most people were curious as to who this mystery woman was Hazel already knew but decided to keep his mouth shut wanting to see their reactions when they find out what Ozpin has been hiding from them.
"You'll probably find out soon." Ozpin replied thinking back to when the screen showed the words: "Secrets will be revealed."
"Is that her?" Glynda asked quietly when everyone turned their attention back to the screen.
Ozpin didn't say anything only giving a short nod.
Little did they know that a certain cat faunus overheard (read eavesdropped) their conversation.
"Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past." The gems in the image glow green and fade.
A man is shown to be rising from the earth. "Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world."
"I thought we were supposed to be watching the future not having some sort of history lesson." Mercury complained already bored out of his mind.
"Maybe this is somehow important in the future?" Emerald said already feeling a headache forming thanks to Mercury's whining
"I doubt it. I mean how could this possibly be important, isn't this the shit that they teach you at school?" Roman said while smoking his cigar.
"Swear!" Ruby pointed at Roman accusingly.
"I'm a grown-ass man as well as a criminal and you're telling me not to swear?" Roman asked with a raised eyebrow while pointing at himself.
"Would you stop arguing already? I don't know about you but I would like to actually see the future rather than waste my time arguing over trivial matters." Raven surprisingly was the one to end the argument.
"An inevitable darkness — creatures of destruction — the creatures of Grimm- set their sights on man and all of his creations." The man was seen being surrounded by Grimm.
"These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void." The Grimm were seen being held back by warriors.
Black sets in, then suddenly lessens as a light grows brighter and brighter until a gem rises from it and lowers itself into the hands of man. "However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust"."
"Who thought that would be an appropriate name?" Oscar asked no one in particular.
"You know, now that I think about it that honestly sounds like it's some sort of drug." Tai said and everyone looked at him weirdly. "Come on we were all thinking about it."
The scene zooms out to show men shooting lightning, raising swords, and aiming rifles at the retreating beasts as a castle appears behind them. "Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life."
"Yeah! Humanity for the win!" Ruby cheered.
"As long as there are enough huntsmen the Grimm don't stand a chance." Yang said with a grin backing up her sister.
"Are you sure about that?" Hazel thought darkly knowing that Salem would never be defeated.
The castle zooms out to show a map of Remnant, which houses other buildings until they disappear in flashes of white and the map is lowered to show the scattered moon over a city at night. "But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die."
A feeling of unease passed through the room.
"That took a dark turn fast." Kali said with a shiver while hugging Ghira for comfort.
"I wonder what's on that dragon looking island, does anyone even live there?" Jaune asked.
"I believe settlements were built there but got destroyed by the Grimm." Ozpin told him although he knew who really lived there and why those villages were destroyed. (I know that it's not confirmed but I think it's safe to assume that's where Salem is.)
"And when they are gone... darkness will return." Roman Torchwick and four of his henchmen head down an alley from the shadows.
"Do you work for this woman Torchwick?" Ironwood asked already thinking about how to catch Roman once they got out of here. He did work for Salem after all or at least that's what James thought judging by Ozpin's earlier reaction.
"Maybe. Possibly. I don't know, this is the first time I've heard this person." Roman answered though not everyone believed him. I mean come on he's a criminal why would they believe him.
"And how do we know you're telling the truth?" Clover asked skeptical of trusting a criminal.
"I believe I could help with that." Robyn suggested and those who knew about her semblance decided it was worth a shot.
"Give me your hand." Robyn said.
"And why would I do that?" Roman asked not about to cooperate with what were most likely his future enemies.
"If you cooperate we'll make your punishment less severe once we get out of here." Winter said in a tone of voice that said 'You better comply or else'.
"And what makes you think you'll catch me? Besides even if you did it's not like you could keep me there for long." Roman said glancing at Neo. He knew that Neo would bust him out if he did get caught.
"Roman I suggest you do it yourself or I'll make you do it."
Roman sighed "Fine, fine I'll do it." Roman grasped her forearm. "So what now?"
"Do you know who that woman is?" Robyn asked activating her semblance.
"No, I don't." Everyone looked at their joint hands and could see that Roman was indeed telling the truth.
"There you go, wasn't so hard now was it."
"Why are you still here?" Roman asked the agitation and annoyance clear in his voice.
"Oh, I'm just here to make sure you don't kill yourselves and I'll be commenting on your future actions from time to time."
They stop behind Roman, who reignites his cigar without touching it, and grins before walking down the road, frightening nearby citizens as they make their way towards the shop From Dust Till Dawn. "So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength."
"Is it just me or does it sound like she's talking to someone?" Weiss asked.
"I don't know, but she sounds very angry, even angrier than Yang when her hair gets cut." Ruby said getting an offended 'Hey!' from the blonde.
"It sounds like she's threatening someone." Blake said remembering her time back in the White Fang and whenever they threatened people.
"You have no idea how right you are miss Belladonna." Ozpin thought. He remembered having this conversation with Salem.
Roman and his henchmen enter the shop, the camera lowering to a young girl wearing a hooded red cloak in the corner of the shop, reading a weapons magazine. "But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul."
While everyone was surprised when they heard Ozpin's voice some were curious what he meant with honest soul.
"When you said honest soul, were you referring to Ruby?" Tai asked his eyes narrowed in suspicion. He definitely did not want Ruby to get mixed up in Ozpin's war against Salem. The same could be said for Qrow though he knew that because of Ruby's silver eyes she would eventually be part of Ozpin's group.
"Yes, I believe so." When Ozpin said that almost everyone was even more confused, the girl in question probably the most. "What was so special about this girl to capture Ozpin's attention?" The people who knew about the silver eyes already figured it out though.
The henchmen look around and at the Dust crystals in the display when Roman approaches the elderly shopkeeper. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?" Roman said while impolitely flicking his cigar over the display case. One of the henchmen points his gun at the shopkeeper.
"P-please! Just take my Lien and leave!" The shopkeeper pleads with his hands raised in surrender.
"Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money." Roman says then turns to his henchmen. "Grab the Dust."
"Why aren't you just taking both?" Oscar asked perplexed.
"None of your business pal." Roman sneered.
A henchman opens a case and removes one of several cylinders, which the group uses to take Dust from the tube containers on the walls.
One of the henchmen puts another empty case on the display and demands "Crystals. Burn. Uncut." The shopkeeper proceeds to fill the case.
As another henchman goes for another tube, he hears the muted This Will Be the Day song from the girl's direction, and unsheathes his sword. "Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em." He says while pointing the sword at her.
"Oh no he didn't." Tai almost growled, nobody threatens his girls. Qrow and Yang weren't doing any better since they were both already planning bloody murder.
Ruby didn't know why but she felt like this happened already.
Ruby doesn't notice him due to the music she's listening to.
A few facepalms were heard throughout the theater while Ruby blushed in embarrassment.
"You need to work on your spatial awareness." Blake said dryly.
"Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?" He goes over to her and turns her around, the hood dropping to reveal a surprised Ruby Rose wearing headphones.
He gestures for her to take off the headphones which she does. "Yes" She asks unaware of the situation she's in.
Ruby gasped when she remembered what this was.
"Is something wrong Ruby?" Weiss asked only slightly concerned for her future teammate.
"This is what happened just before I woke up in here!" Ruby explained happy that she would finally beat u- see herself beat up those criminals.
"So everything from this point on must be the future." Pyrrha said what everyone was thinking.
"I said, put your hands in the air, now!" The henchman demands again.
"Are you... robbing me?" She asks completely unaware of the situation.
"Yes!" The henchman said getting angrier every second.
"Ooohhh..." Ruby narrows her eyes in a way that promises pain.
"It was at this moment that he knew, he fucked up." Yang joked which set off a round of laughter throughout the theater.
Roman is waiting for his men to finish the heist when a "Hey!" and "Hyah!" are heard, and the threatening henchman flies past him. Roman calmly motions for another to handle Ruby. The next henchman demanded "Freeze!" while raising his gun at her.
Roman put his head in his hands. "You've got to be kidding me." He mumbled although no one heard him over their laughter.
Cut to outside the shop, when the henchman and Ruby crash through the window. The other men look outside as Ruby gets up and unfolds Crescent Rose into its scythe form. Roman scowls, but Ruby smiles back at them before twirling the weapon around, striking it into the ground and turning off her headphones.
"Completely pointless and flashy, I love it!" Qrow complimented with a proud grin on his face.
"I had a great teacher." Ruby said with a smile.
"Okayyy..." Roman looks to his remaining henchmen. "Get her!"
The henchmen head out of the shop and run at Ruby, who spins around on top of her scythe and kicks the first approaching criminal in the face. She gets Crescent Rose out of the ground and fires it off to hit another one with the butt of her weapon, sending him flying. She fires again and brings the side down on one attacker and dodges the next's gunfire with her rifle's speed, getting close enough to knock him into the air and follow him upwards so she can beat him away to Roman's feet. "You were worth every cent. Truly, you were." Roman said sarcastically while looking down at his defeated henchman.
"Neo remind me to never go back to Junior for men." Roman quietly said to his partner in crime who nodded in agreement.
"Defeated by a little girl." Mercury laughed then promptly got hit upside the head by Roman.
"Did they even have their auras unlocked?" Pyrrha asked which made Jaune think "What the hell is aura?"
"Probably not, I mean look at how quick they went down." Nora said with a grin.
He dropped his cigar and crushed it with his cane while police sirens could be heard in the backround. "Well, Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around..." He raises his cane revealing that it's also a gun. "...I'm afraid this is where we part ways."
"Your cane is a gun?" Mercury asked with a raised eyebrow.
"To be fair almost everything in your world is a gun so it's not that surprising."
"Well, he's not wrong about that." Roman said.
Roman unleashes a red blast at Ruby, who fires at the ground and leaps over it. When she lands and looks up, Roman isn't there, and is climbing up a ladder on a nearby building.
"You okay if I go after him?" Ruby asks the shopkeeper making sure he was okay.
The shopkeeper gives a short "Uh huh", and Ruby sets off. Roman makes it to the roof, with Ruby high-flying again and landing right behind him.
"Hey!" Ruby yells at Roman thinking she has him cornered now.
Weiss deadpanned at this. "'Hey!', That's the best you could come up with?"
"Why are you asking me? This hasn't even happened yet." Ruby defended herself making Weiss blush in embarrassment.
"Wow, you're actually about to be beaten by a little girl." Emerald said trying to hold in her laughter.
"Persistent" Roman grumbles annoyed while stopping at the edge of the building.
Ruby readies to fight him, but a getaway Bullhead rises up and opens the hatch to allow Roman inside.
Neo held up a sign with a smug look on her face 'What was that about being beaten by a little girl'
"Oh shut up." Emerald growled out.
'I didn't even say anything'
Roman faces Ruby while holding up a red Dust crystal. "End of the line, Red." He throws it out at her feet and fires at her, resulting in a large explosion. "Whoa-ho-ho-ho!" He stops laughing when he sees something on the roof. "Huh?"
A woman in a purple cape is now in front of Ruby, casting a circle of protection over them with her wand.
"Thanks for helping her Glynda." Tai said getting a nod in return from the stern teacher.
"How dare he waste good dust like that!" Weiss yelled face red of anger.
"Well, he probably has a lot of it since he steals so much." Ruby said meekly.
"Why do you care more about that dust being wasted than the fact that Ruby was almost blown up?" Yang said which promptly made Weiss shut up.
As Ruby looks on, Glynda Goodwitch waves her weapon and summons several streaks of purple at the craft. Roman is thrown around in the back until he goes to the cockpit, where a woman in red, her face unseen, is struggling with the controls. "We got a huntress!" Torchwick informes the mystery woman.
"There's Cinder." Emerald thought happily with a smile. Mercury looked over and sighed. "When will you realize that Cinder doesn't care about you?"
"Is that the woman from the beginning?" Ghira asked directing the question at Ozpin.
"No, that's someone else." Ozpin said studying the mystery woman "Maybe she works for Salem?"
The woman gets up and heads toward the back as Roman takes the controls.
Glynda glows purple for a moment and aims another blast above the craft, resulting in a dark storm cloud right over the jet.
"The hell...?" Roman says to himself confused why a storm cloud just suddenly appeared.
With a flick of her wand, large jagged hail starts falling that pummels the jet and even breaks through the window, narrowly missing Roman's head.
"Geez, lady relax. Maybe not so close to the head." Roman said looking at Glynda apprehensively.
All the future students looked at Glynda nervously and made a mental note not to anger her.
Glynda as if reading their thoughts looked at them all with a smirk making them gulp and look away.
The woman reaches the back and her arms and chest light up like fire, aiming a burst of energy at Glynda. The Huntress blocks it, but the flame splatters behind her and glows hot with the enemy's raised hand. Glynda back-flips out of the explosion, which destroys part of the roof, and magically gathers the shards to create a large arrow, which she throws at the craft.
The fiery woman shatters the arrow with several blasts, but it reforms just in time to hit the side of the jet due to Roman's quick aerial lean. The wreckage separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the jet, but the woman summons several glowing rings around herself that expand and destroy the shards.
"So she's the one who stole Amber's powers." Ozpin thought grimly. If she paid closer attention to Ruby she could have found out about her eyes. If Salem found out...
"Why are you just standing there?" Weiss asked.
"I don't know. Do something future me!" Ruby yelled at her on-screen self.
Ruby, finally acting, reverts her scythe into its rifle form to fire at the woman, who blocks each shot and creates several blazing circles around her two opponents.
"Yeah, that sure worked well." Blake said dryly.
"But, it didn't work?" Penny asked confused. People were really starting to wonder what was up with this girl.
"I was being sarcastic." Blake raised an eyebrow at her.
Glynda telekinetically pushes Ruby and rolls herself out of the explosion's radius; looking up to see the hatch close and the craft fly away.
Ruby looks at Glynda. "You're a Huntress! Can I have your autograph?!" Ruby says while putting on a pleading, awe-stricken face.
Ruby hid in her cloak as red as a tomato while everyone laughed or grinned. Hell, even Raven had a small smirk on her face.
The scene cuts to Ruby's amazed face turn to one of shame as Glynda, with a tablet computer, paces around the table Ruby is seated at, right underneath a bright light in the otherwise dark room. "I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady. You put yourself and others in great danger." Glynda starts lecturing her with Ruby protesting "They started it!"
"Excuse me but why is Miss Rose getting punished for stopping a crime while her sister gets off scot-free for committing one?" Winter asked with a look that said 'I'm disappointed in you.'
"I hate to do it but I gotta agree with the Ice Queen on this one." Qrow said getting a glare from said Ice Queen.
"While I don't know why Miss Xiao Long wasn't punished for wrecking that club-" Glynda said before getting cut off by Tai.
"Don't worry she will be." Tai said making Yang frown and mumble to herself making the more immature members of the group snicker at her predicament.
"Miss Rose did endanger civilians with her little stunt." Glynda finished.
"How about this. Ruby endangered civilians, she stopped a crime, no one got hurt, and let's just leave it at that. Because at this rate we'll never finish this."
Everyone decided that it would be better to continue watching and argue later.
"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back..." She notices Ruby's smile. "...And a slap on the wrist." She demonstrates with her riding crop, which Ruby barely avoids as she gives out an "Eeek!"
"Man she's scary." Jaune whispered.
Unfortunately for him, Goodwitch overheard him. "What was that?" "Nothing" He replied quickly.
"But... there is someone here who would like to meet you." Glynda finishes as she moves out of the way so a surprised Ruby can see a man in green come through the doorway, holding a mug and a plate of cookies.
Ruby's eyes were immediately glued to the plate of cookies though she was curious why Ozpin would want to meet her.
"Ruby Rose..." Ozpin leans in to look at her face. "You... have silver eyes."
"Uh, um..." Ruby struggles to find a response to that.
"Is that... important or something?" Ruby asked feeling weirded out. Everyone else was kinda weirded out too and looking at Ozpin hoping for an answer.
"No... it's just that I haven't seen many people with silver eyes before." Ozpin said coming up with a convincing lie that they believed. Well except the ones who already knew about the silver eyes.
"I wonder how long he'll be able to hide the truth?" Raven and Hazel mused.
"So! Where did you learn to do this?" Ozpin gestures with his head at the scroll playing a recording of Ruby's fight.
"S-Signal Academy." Ruby stutters.
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin questions.
"Are scythes really that dangerous?" Jaune asked. He decided it would be best to get as much information as possible since he wanted to attend Beacon even though he has no prior training.
"They are. Very few people are able to master wielding a scythe. And the ones who do are some of the most dangerous huntsmen out there." Ozpin said making the two scythe wielders preen at the praise.
"Well, one teacher in particular." Ruby said with a smile.
"I see..." Ozpin said, rubbing a hand on his chin. He puts the cookies on the table in front of Ruby. She tentatively picks one up, eats it in a single bite, and then, not seeing any rebuttal, shovels the rest into her mouth.
"Jesus red slow down, the cookies won't run away from you." Roman said getting a few chuckles here and there. Ruby grinned sheepishly with a blush.
"It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow..." Ozpin said with a knowing smile.
"Who are you calling old?!" Qrow asked faking offense.
"Why you of course." Ozpin said with a grin. He could tell Qrow was just joking.
"You're one to talk." Hazel thought. How could Ozpin call someone old when he's been alive for hundreds if not thousands of years.
Ruby mumbles through her full mouth "Oh! That's my uncle!" She then swallows and wipes her mouth, embarrassed "Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like— Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa!" Ruby proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises making a complete fool of herself.
Ruby squeaked, blushing out of embarrassment, and decided to hide in her cloak again.
"You look like a fool." Weiss said though her lips twitched upwards slightly.
"So I've noticed." Ozpin places his cup on the table as he leans in, then sits down opposite Ruby. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
"Well... I want to be a Huntress." Ruby says acting seriously.
"You want to slay monsters?" Ozpin asks.
"No, she wants to plant flowers with that oversized gardening tool of hers." Whitley said getting chuckles out of almost everyone.
"Oversi- You take that back!" Qrow was offended for real this time. How dare this spoiled brat compare Ruby's weapon and by correlation his with a gardening tool.
"Make me." Whitley said with a smirk. Qrow stood up and started walking towards him with his scythe. "I take it back." Whitley said hurriedly, very intimidated by his weapon.
Willow was saddened by her son's behavior, he reminded her of Jacques so much. Weiss and Winter were happy someone finally shut their brother up even if it had to be that drunk.
"How's that for oversized gardening tool." Qrow said after getting back to his seat.
"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" She starts talking faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing. "You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!" Ruby giggles "I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" She flips out at the last part, staring at the two with a wide, crazy smile.
Glynda and Ozpin study her.
"Do you know who I am?" Ozpin asks her.
"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon." Ruby answers.
Ozpin smiles. "Hello."
"Nice to meet you." Ruby replies.
"You want to come to my school?" Ozpin asks.
"More than anything." Ruby replies.
Ozpin exchanges a glance with Glynda, who shows her disapproval with a "Hmmph" before he turns back to Ruby "Well, okay." Ruby smiles, wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
"What? Just like that?" Was the general outcry.
"I think this is the first time someone got accepted into Beacon early." Winter said. She's never heard of anyone being accepted early into any of the huntsmen academies.
"You're right, it is." Ironwood said looking at Ozpin suspiciously. "What are you planning Ozpin?"
Ruby was surprised. She knew she was good, but she didn't think she would be good enough to get into Beacon two years early, not that she's complaining this was a dream come true.
The scene changes again as Yang Xiao Long tackles her sister in a hug aboard the large airship to Beacon, crushing the air out of her. "Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang exclaimed.
"Please stop." Ruby gasps struggling for air.
"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang said as she released her sister.
"Really Sis, it was nothing." Ruby tries to say.
"Nothing?! What do you mean it was nothing?! I'm the best criminal in all of Vale for crying out loud! That's an insult towards me! And I would like an apology." Roman got louder with each word he said and even got out of his seat in the end.
"I... uhh... I'm sorry?" Ruby said unsure.
"Thank you!" Roman sat down satisfied with that apology.
Ironwood was the first to recover after Roman's speach. "Anyway, Miss Rose you shouldn't sell yourself short. What you did took a lot of bravery and courage. You should be proud of yourself."
"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang smiled brightly at her sister.
"I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby complains.
"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang asks confused by her sister's behavior.
"Of course I'm excited... I just..." Ruby sighs. "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."
Yang goes over and gives her sister a one-armed hug "But you are special."
Most people smiled at the sweet scene.
Pyrrha could understand why Ruby didn't want people to think she's special. She just wanted people to treat her like a normal person and not some sort of celebrity. At least that's what Pyrrha wanted and she assumed that Ruby felt the same way judging by that conversation.
"Oh, she is special just not in the way that you think she is." Hazel and Raven knew about the silver eyes. Hazel was conflicted, he's dealt with people with silver eyes before but Ruby was just a child.
The girls' attention is drawn to the 2-D animated newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby, talking about the robbery and showing Roman's mug shot. "The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa." A male newscaster said.
Roman scoffed. "As if the police could ever catch me."
The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks. "Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted..."
"Where did I go wrong?" Ghira quietly said to himself. He should have never given up the position of leader to Sienna. Maybe if he hadn't this could have been prevented.
The news feed is cut off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it. "Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" Glynda greets the new students.
"Who's that?" Yang asks.
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch." Glynda introduces herself.
"Oh" Yang has her question answered.
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." Once Glynda finishes her announcement her hologram disappears.
"Yeah, no pressure or anything." Marrow rolled his eyes.
"They knew what they signed up for. They will be under pressure most of the time when doing their job so they'll have to get used to it." Clover said.
"Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here!" Ruby and other students look through the glass walls at the town below. "I guess home isn't too far after all!"
Yang puts her hand on Ruby's shoulder. "Beacon's our home, now."
The two hear a passenger groaning and hunched over nearby, running to the back of the ship.
"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang rolls her eyes.
"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby said.
The ship is seen approaching Beacon across a large body of water.
"I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy." Ruby said.
"Vo-Vomit boy? Really?" Jaune was offended. Motion sickness was a serious thing.
"You didn't really leave a good first impression, and the name fits sooo..." Ruby said making Jaune sigh.
"Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!" Ruby exclaims.
"If you puke on my shoes I swear I'm going to kill you." Yang said her eyes turning red. Jaune... well let's just say Jaune might need some new underwear.
"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang yelled on repeat.
"Get-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!" Ruby sounds like she is trying to stay as far away from Yang as possible.
While most people were laughing Jaune was trying to make sure Yang doesn't kill him.
The scene fades to black and This Will Be The Day starts playing.
Ruby is shown in front of her mother's grave with her hood up.
"They see you as small and helpless, they see you as just a child." A figure appears in front of her dressed similarly but in white and her legs are faded.
"Mom?" Ruby may not have many memories of Summer but she knew this was her.
"Surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild." The figure fades into white petals as the moon is shown doing the same.
"Prepare for your greatest moment, prepare for your finest hour." Weiss stands alone in the spotlight.
"The dream that you've always dreamed" Blake stands on a tree branch but vanishes as another branch passes.
"Is suddenly about to flower." Yang rides away on her motorbike.
Everyone understood the meaning of this. Ruby wanted to become a huntress and now that's exactly what she'll be doing. Dream come true.
"We are lightning"A hoard of Grimm are shown with a Nevermore flying forward.
"Straying from the thunder"Torchwick and his henchmen appear but then fade and the mystery woman with her face still concealed and two similarly concealed people at her sides.
While everyone was trying to figure out who the mystery woman and her two henchmen were Mercury and Emerald were internally panicking, they were almost found out.
"Miracles of ancient wonder"Team RWBY stand in a circle with weapons drawn to face the shadows that surround them.
"This will be the day we've waited for" A blast appears in between them that they quickly dodge and charge in to fight the new shadow.
"This will be the day we open up the door" Jaune stands in front of the statue of mankind conquering Grimm."I don't wanna hear your absolution"
Pyrrha appears putting her hand on Jaune's shoulder as the other members of Team JNPR appear next to them."Hope you're ready for a revolution"
"Finally! There we are!" Nora shouted excitedly. She was very disappointed when she found out that she didn't have a trailer but at least she was part of the show.
"Welcome to a world of new solutions" Ozpin and Goodwitch stand on the balcony of an airship."Welcome to a world of bloody evolution"
"In time, your heart will open minds" The members of Ream RWBY appear in order, each with their emblem as a background.
"A story will be told" Ozpin and Goodwitch are standing in front of Beacon, the scene zooms out to reveal team JNPR, and then zooms out more to reveal team RWBY.
"And victory is in a simple soul" Ruby spins her weapon striking her signature pose in front of the moon.
"Well, that was certainly interesting-" Ozpin was cut off.
"Next chapter!"
