Light penetrated his eyes temporarily blinding him as a wave of pain echoed through his neck and head. A soft buzz echoed through the air around him as he started to come to awareness. His eyes opened slowly before slamming shut at the harsh light that filled his vision. Groaning softly, Damon rolled onto his stomach before pushing himself up into a sitting position. Forcing his eyes open again, he glanced around the room he was in, confusion filled him as he continued studying his surroundings. The room had dark blue walls and a chestnut wooden floor. The room had sparse furnishings with only a dresser, bookshelf and the bed Damon had woken up in. The bed was a huge king size and seemed to be covered in multiple layers of blankets varying in design.
Suddenly, the night before flooded back to the forefront of his mind. He had lost control for a split second, and it had been almost impossible to regain it. When he had nearly had it back in his grasp, Klaus had to interfere. 'Obviously, that was all he was good at,' Damon thought, 'He seems to always get in the way when he wasn't needed.' Annoyance filled him as he continued to think about the werewolf hybrid. The way his eyes glinted when he was angry and couldn't control something. His stupid smirk that graced his face when he thought he was getting his way. How warmth had filled his expression when he had seen Damon's show of power. It had made his head go cloudy at that moment and made him breathless at the sight. Damon shook his head, 'No, no, no he would not think of Klaus as anything but an enemy.'
Deep down, Damon knew he was lying to himself but, another part of him refused to acknowledge this. He hated Klaus and he was determined that that fact would never change. After, all he was certain mother nature couldn't have paired them together. What would be the point in pairing them together? A hybrid and at the time when he had met Kol, a warlock would have never worked. Damon got up as quickly as possible and immediately started searching for his shirt which, he had just now realized was missing. Since he knew that he hadn't taken it off, it could only mean that Klaus had removed it from him last night. His face heated up at the thought of him stripping him of his clothes.
Shaking his head, he strode towards the dresser and started yanking the drawers open, hoping to find something. A shirt, that was all he needed but, no the drawers he had searched had every article of clothing but that. Jeans, Shorts, Socks, Underwear, one drawer even had toiletries in it but, no shirts. 'Fine,' Damon thought, 'I'll just get one after I leave.' Storming towards the door, anger surged through him as he found he couldn't leave the room. His hands slammed against the barrier that another witch had apparently erected to stop him from leaving. As if that would keep him from breaking it and getting away from that psychopath. Reaching down inside him, Damon started searching for his magic so he could break the barrier without a spell. Panic seized his heart as he realized he couldn't sense it within him. "KLAUS!" Damon screamed out from the doorway.
Within seconds the hybrid appeared within the doorway, a smirk stretched across his face at the sight that lay before him. His beautiful mate stood in the doorway, his raven-colored hair messy and sticking up in all directions. To Klaus, the man looked tantalizing as he stood there shirtless with a fire burning brightly in his icicle blue eyes. "Klaus." Damon growled angrily. "Yes, love? How can I help you?" he asked stepping closer to the one his wolf craved desperately. "What happened to my magic?" Damon spit out as he glared at the original hybrid. "Oh, come on love, how else was I supposed to keep you here? I had one of my witches block it temporarily. You'll be allowed access to it again when I allow it. Until then, get comfortable as you will be spending all your time in that room." Klaus told him taking a step closer to the doorway with every sentence.
"It's my magic, you can't just take it away every time I piss you off. Now, let me out!" Damon spat at him, all the while imagining all the ways he could kill the immortal hybrid in front of him. "It's not been taken love. It's still there just blocked and like I said you will not be leaving that room. So, get comfortable it's gonna be a while before, you are allowed to leave." Klaus told him before striding away into the rest of the house. "Klaus! Klaus!" Damon yelled angrily at the hybrid's retreating form. His hands hit the doorframe before he slammed the door shut and slumped against it. 'This was not happening.' Damon thought, anxiety and anger starting to settle deep within him.
Just when he was starting to make progress on his magic and figuring everything out that lunatic had to come to ruin it.
Klaus strode out of the apartment forcing his expression to remain blank as he headed to find his brother. The conversation he had just had with his mate had hit harder than he thought it would. He knew that Damon would hate him for locking him up but, the anger he had seen in his eyes burned brighter than he thought possible. That wasn't why he was worried though, Klaus had expected the anger, what he hadn't expected was the fear. Klaus had almost not seen it but, when he had mentioned that a block had been placed on him, Damon's eyes had shown with panic. At that moment, guilt had encompassed Klaus to the point where he had almost had his witch release him.
Thankfully, he had remembered why he had locked Damon up in the first place before that could happen. Breathing deeply, he immediately headed for Gloria's to meet up with Elijah and Katerina. It was time to deal with the three most immediate threats to his mate and once that was done, he would finally be able to start making hybrids. It was supposed to have been his first priority but, when Damon went missing his priorities had shifted. He couldn't risk him falling into the hands of his enemies, it would just make things even more complicated than they already were. "Niklaus," Elijah called out as he arrived at the bar, "Where's the Salvatore boy?" Klaus's and Gloria's eyes locked at the question from his brother. She lowered her gaze as his expression dared her to speak up and say something. "Never you mind, brother." Klaus looked over at him and saw Katerina hiding behind the slightly older Original.
'First things, first.' Klaus thought as his gaze hardened on Katerina's still frame. She was gazing at the floor, and it was obvious even to him that she was trying not to be noticed. Elijah had seemingly noticed where his gaze had landed and moved to hide her from his view. "Niklaus, please." Elijah warned him off as if that would convince him to change his mind. That pathetic excuse for a vampire had hurt his mate and stopped him from breaking the curse centuries ago. Not to mention, the threat she now was to Damon meant she could no longer be allowed to exist. His brother it seemed still cared for the vampire doppelganger, any hope Klaus had that he could reason with his brother went out the window.
"I apologize, I promised to reunite you with our siblings Elijah. I have been remise in that but, now seems like an ample time to deliver." Klaus shot forward shoving the dagger he had coated in white oak ash straight into his brother's heart. One threat down, two more immediate ones to go, and once those were dealt with then he could create hybrids to protect his mate and family. No one would be allowed to hurt any of them again. As his brother fell, Klaus's gaze shot to Gloria and Katerina, both of whom had frozen at the sight that lay before them. Klaus stood up straight and immediately strode towards Katerina. "Klaus, Klaus, please. I am sorry please." Katerina begged as he grabbed her tightly by the arm.
His hand shot straight into her chest grasping her heart tightly. Blood pounded in Klaus's ears as his gaze burned at the sight of Katerina. "Not in my bar Klaus. You take it outside." Gloria called out behind him. "I'll clean it up." Klaus called out to her without turning around to face her. "Please, Klaus I am sorry ok." Katherine whispered as she stood there, fear filling her gaze. "I know you are love but, sadly for you sorry is not good enough. You are too much of a threat to my mate and that is something I cannot ignore." Klaus whispered roughly against her ear before killing her in one swift tug of her heart. She slumped to the ground as her eyes slid shut and her body turned grey against the chestnut floor. Dropping her heart to the ground, Klaus slowly turned to face Gloria who stood behind the bar.
"Now are you going to be a problem or are we going to come to an agreement?" Klaus growled as he got closer and closer to her. Gloria swallowed thickly as Klaus watched her. "What agreement do you want Klaus?" she asked breathlessly trying to avoid looking at the now dead vampire in her bar. "Swear to me on your life and magic that you will reveal my mate to know one. If you break this oath, I will hunt you down and I will kill you." Klaus growled as he leaned up against the bar in front of her. "I swear to you Klaus, I won't say anything to anyone." Gloria said calmly gazing into the man's eyes. Klaus stared at her judging the sincerity of her words before allowing a smirk to grace his face. "Wonderful, love. I will be back later, and we can discuss those wolf packs you were going to tell me about." Grabbing Elijah's prone form, Klaus strode out of the bar and shot a quick text off to Maddox to come clean up the mess Katerina's body had left behind.
