Chapter 7
Palace of the Magne Family
Lucifer
Deep within the Pride ring, within the section of the ring limited to only the elite of Hell, lay the palace for the Magne family.
The palace, for a lack of a better term, large. Nearly half the size of New York City, the palace was overkill to say the least as the Magne family only numbered three with only a few thousand servants to tend to their needs, but Lucifer wanted to show his power in more ways than one. And what better way to do so than so it through his own home. Plus, it's not like the space was wasted for mere decorations or for mere pride reasons. Only a fraction of it was dedicated to recreational activities as well political ones. The rest was dedicated to the defense of the Magne family and for some of Lucifer's more…heinous activities that'll cause tensions to form with his daughter. It was here where the royal family of hell resided in. It was here where Lucifer, the current ruler of hell resided with his family whenever he wasn't forced to deal with matters that require his personal attention or when he just felt like being out of the house for a while.
It was also here where Lucifer was watching the news interview regarding his daughter's little passion project, specifically the one where Overlord Rosie spoke in support of the hotel and for people to invest their time there. Lucifer, being the father he was, had watched the interview when it had been revealed to him that Rosie was intending to speak up about the hotel in case she decided to say anything bad against the Magne family or his daughter.
Much as it was unlikely given Rosie's intelligence, she was one of his more intelligent Overlords after all that knew her place in Hell's hierarchy, he also knew that she was ambitious and will always go for something that's profitable for her if she can get away with it safely. And saying something bad about the royal family and getting something out it was something she'll do. Not that doing so is strictly forbid in Hell, but Lucifer will not stand certain things, like calling his daughter a failure or the Magne family is weak.
Fortunately for her, and probably disappointing for his assassins or torturers, the Overlord spoke about the hotel positively. Though she noted to all that she was only doing it for profits, along with Alastor, though the Radio Demon was doing it for different purposes, she still gave good reasons to come to the hotel, both for redemption and for a good place to stay. It was only when she brought up the Iron Revenant that Lucifer began to twitch and clench his chair tightly. The talk about his most powerful rival, next to Satan himself, was infuriating to the former angel of heaven. And to make matters worse, he was helping out his daughter with her passion project.
Anyone with any sliver of knowledge of the history of Hell knew of the rivalry between the king of Hell and Iron Revenant of the Immortal Bastion. How he made a fool of Lucifer in his grand plan to attain his kingdom and how he became a fierce new force in Hell that made even the denizens of Heaven afraid of him. Lucifer still suffered bouts of phantom pain from the time Mordekaiser, essentially, mauled him to near death, despite the efforts of his best witch doctors and his own magic, both dark magic from Hell and the lore he acquired from Heaven before being ousted, which may help explain why the two haven't axed their rivalry as of yet, despite it being literally tens of thousands of years old.
Although calling it a rivalry would be wrong in some definitions as, aside from the first few hundred years and some fierce mocking and insults thrown each other's way that may or may not lead to war or even a brawl, they haven't done anything to each other. Heck, he even approved of and personally thanked Mordekaiser for giving Heaven a much-needed slice of humble pie as, if there was anything that didn't make him happy aside from his wife and his daughter, when she wasn't making herself and their family look like a fool of course, is the humiliation of the angels of Heaven. Oh yes. Calling the rivalry between him and Mordekaiser as more of a grudge, then, would be more appropriate as they haven't really done anything against each other aside from insulting and criticizing each other for even the tiniest of things. Mordekaiser especially so.
Still, the anger that Lucifer had for the Iron revenant was still in his heart. Not just for his part in humiliating the king of hell, but also his ways of governing his people.
There was a reason that Lucifer had chosen to leave his former life behind when he turned against his creator and then became ruler of Hell. Whether it was a good reason or not is up to the individual to decide, but in Lucifer's mind, it was a good one.
Much as he detested the thought of it, the followers of Christianity were right. Their God was a benevolent being that brought peace, illumination, and paradise to all those that are in his realm. In many ways, Heaven was a place where nothing is too good to be true. You wished eternal peace? It was there. You wish for no sickness or disease? It was also there? You wished to be forever with your loved ones, both old and new, and eternally happy with all of them, despite differences in views and beliefs? Then say no more. Heaven has it all and more. So, why did he leave and turn against God's light when everything was so good. So peaceful and beautiful.
Well, contrary to what the human bible said he didn't leave because he was jealous of humanity's free will or because he thought he was superior to God and thought could do be a better being than him, or whatever nonsense the human made up in that stupid book of theirs. He left because he believed God's way was simply wrong.
That's right, the infamous Lucifer, said to have waged a war against God for Heaven and responsible for the fall of Adam and Eve, causing the original sin of humanity and their fall from grace in God's eyes, left because he disagreed with God's way of doing things. Not as epic or impactful as the bible made it out to be, but what can you expect from humans. They just love to spice things up and lie to make things more interesting to garner people's attention or to get people to side with them, even if it's because of a lie.
But going back to things, Lucifer did, for a good portion of his life, agree with God's way of doing things. And why wouldn't he? Like he said, Heaven was paradise and nothing the mortal realm had problems with existed in Heaven. And everyone was happy. And Lucifer, being the greatest of God's angels, followed his creator's will with much enthusiasm and loyalty, much like the other archangels. So, what changed?
The answer was that even Lucifer didn't know. One day, while he was tending to his duties as archangel of Heaven, he looked towards the beautiful white plains of Heaven, watching both angels and humans enjoying their lives in Heaven. He didn't know why as he's done such an act many times throughout the course of his life, but in that particular day something snapped in him. Something that made him question the perfection of Heaven and God's work. Question is if this was all really as good as it all seemed. Was God's path the right one?
Such heretical thoughts were swept aside as nearly as they popped up, Lucifer still loved and believed in his father after all during those days. But as the days go by, seeing the same thing time over and over again with little to no change, those heretical thoughts kept popping up in his head more frequently as time went by and no matter what he did, no matter what reasons he use to banish them, seeing them as foolish and heretical, he couldn't help but wonder if they have some merit to them.
To make matters worse, he couldn't speak to the other Archangels about this as he knew they wouldn't be of any help in such matters. They'll such either tell him to place his faith in God's work, that he needs to submit himself in deep prayer to God for guidance, or get angry with him for doubting God and his work. No, all he had to work with was himself and his own thought.
And as much as he tried to stay in the righteous path that God had given them all, he couldn't help, but think that something was inherently wrong with it all. All of it was beginning to pile up and it was driving him crazy. Eventually, he had enough of the insanity of it all and began to pray to God for a solution to it all, to end it all and so he can stay on the path that God had given him. The solution was provided, but it wasn't what he expected it to be.
God had created Adam, the first ever human, and Lilith, the woman who would go on to create the Succubi and Incubi demons, the first ever creations of God that had free will and the ability to live without God's divine light, something many angels can't do without. Well technically they can, but they were so used to the guidance of God that Lucifer suspected many of them, especially the new generations, can't operate as well as a human can without God's divine guidance.
At first, things were alright. Lilith and Adam loved each other very much. They lived contently with each other in Eden, a paradise on Earth that was now lost forever. Their love was so great that no one ever suspected that they would ever fall out of love. And why would they. Lilith was beautiful. Long flowing blond hair that was like silk and silverish eyes that can stop the heart of any man, and women in all honesty, with a kindness that befitted a creation of God. In many ways, Lilith was the perfect woman and wife for Adam, who also was the perfect man and husband for Lilith as well with his handsome features and honorable soul. It then came a shock to them all when they heard a plea for help from Adam.
Lucifer, being the pride and leader of the angels at the time, descended upon Eden, where they found it, to their horror, a mess. Trees were destroyed. Animals, now extinct or whose descendants live on today, dead, their blood spilling all over the ponds and rivers of Eden, contaminating the water. And amidst it all, Adam was there, bleeding from countless wounds flowing through his body.
As he was being healed for his wounds, Adam told them that something had descended upon him and Lilith as they indulged themselves on the fruits of Eden. It had came so fast that neither could get a good look on it as it sped towards them in a blink of an eye. All Adam told them was that it was a black creature that inspired dread to all that were near it. It near fatally wounded Adam before taking Lilith and left, the woman screaming as the monster took her away from her love. After the explanation, Adam begged them to save her before the monster could do whatever it wanted with her, to which Lucifer promised the man that he would.
With that, he and Michael, perhaps the best fighter of all the Archangels as he was the one that led the angels to war should it ever come to be, took the strongest angels with them to hunt down whatever took Lilith. They searched high and low throughout Earth to find the beast that dared to harm God's creations, all the while wondering what it was and how could God allow much a thing to exist. Was it a creation of God? If so, why did it harm other creations of the being that created it?
These questions dwelled in the minds of the angels as they searched long and hard for Lilith and her kidnapper. As hours went into days. Then days into months, they feared that Lilith met an unfortunate end to this kidnapper. Some angels wanted to leave and inform Adam of the terrible news, but Lucifer refused, seeing it as cowardly and that they shouldn't abandon Lilith until it was certain she perished. Only Michael agreed, but the authority of two Archangels was more than enough to force the other angels to cooperate. Eventually, however, they found a dark presence on Earth, something that shouldn't exist at Earth. Not yet at least. Believing that was where the kidnapper was, the angels descended upon the presence, hoping to find Lilith alive and well. They did find her, but what else they found shook them to their very core.
In the clearing in the plain, they found Lilith, curled up into a ball, sobbing as the angels descended upon her. Only when they got a good look on her did they found out why.
All over her body there were countless scars, some old and some that were recent, marring her beautiful skin considerably. Patches of her hair were ripped out, taking some scalp as well. Finally, to the angels horror, her eyes had been violently ripped out, blinding her. And to make matters worse, the area around her was also of similar destruction.
Grass was decaying all around her. Animals lay dying and whimpering for aid. Worst, whenever the angels came to her, they felt an unbearable sense of dread and death emitting from the woman. It was as if she became a persona of destruction and death while she was away. Only Lucifer and Michael were able to approach her and even then, just barely. The aura was just that strong. It seemed whatever her kidnapper did to her, it also gave her an aura of death that just killed anything that got close to her unless they were strong enough to resist it.
Comforting the woman as best he could as she sobbed about what had occurred to her, Lucifer and the rest of the angels left for Eden to bring Lilith to her lover and to tell God of what had transpired. What happened next was not what Lucifer thought would ever happed and helped him leave Heaven for good.
When they arrived to Eden, they found Adam with a new woman called Eve. Apparently, Adam had thought Lilith was already dead and couldn't bear the thought of being alone forever. So, he pleaded with God to give him another wife, which he did by using Adam's rib to do so. Upon learning of this, Lilith screamed out her anger at Adam, who felt shame for not believing Lilith was still alive. Though he tried his best to apologize, even allowing Lilith to hit him in anger, the woman wouldn't have any of it. After all that happened, Lilith went away in anger, unable to bare Adam's presence any longer. Despite his pleas for her to come back, Lilith didn't, too angry with the man she loved to do so.
As all this happened, Lucifer felt both anger at Adam for doing all this, not trusting him to bring Lilith back alive, and at God for doing all this. Not just for creating Eve, but also for not scolding Adam for not waiting and trusting Lucifer to bring back Lilith. He was supposed to be an all-loving father and creator who knew all, yet he allowed all this to happen. Why?
It was at that question that those heretical thoughts that Lucifer had began to appear again, stronger this time. They told him that he could be a better being than God ever could be. That he could govern things much better than God could. If he seized the chance and took Adam's soul and the apple from the tree that God had forbidden anyone from taking and eating it. By consuming both, he'll become a being greater than even God and no one will feel pain like Lilith or Adam is feeling right now. All he had to do was sacrifice his loyalty to God and kill Adam and take the apple.
At first, Lucifer considered it all, believing it all to be true and tempting, but then he heard Lilith sob, sobbing at all she lost and how her love, in her mind, betrayed her. It was then that Lucifer's heart churned and he went to go comfort the woman, ignoring the heretical thoughts in his mind, while Michael left with the other angels for Heaven, trusting Lucifer to do what he thought was right. As he moved towards Lilith, he noticed that her aura of death was affecting anything around her anymore. Feeling this was a sign from God, Lucifer approached the woman and comforted her again.
As the greatest of all Archangels comforted Lilith, he began to feel a love greater than that he felt for his creator. He was beginning to fall in love with her. Despite all her scars. Despite all what she was at the moment, he felt such love for her that it almost eclipsed anything else he had loved before and he relished in it. As a result, he opted to make a plea to God to place Lilith under his care and to give her to him as it would be too awkward for Adam and his new wife if Lilith was with them all the time. He knew it was selfish, even evil as Lilith still loved Adam despite what happened, and Adam still loved Lilith despite his love for Eve, but he knew it was the best course of action at the moment. Perhaps, if given space, Lilith would calm down and apologize to Adam for his actions and Adam for not believing that Lilith was still living. And so, he left the woman alone after assuring her that he'll come for her after he conversed with God about his plan, believing they were safe now that the angels in Heaven were keeping a closer eye upon Eden after this debacle. As he traveled to Heaven, Lucifer was hoping that everything will work out just fine and that things will go back to normal.
How wrong he was.
It all happened so fast that Lucifer couldn't believe that they occurred so quickly. As he entered Heaven and was about to commune with God himself about his plan, disaster struck again. The apple that contained the knowledge of Good and Evil had been eaten, despite God's strict orders for it not to be. When the angels descended upon Eden again, they found Adam with the apple in hand, a chuck of it missing, with Lilith around her hands at Eve, strangling the poor woman, everything around her dying, even the air. The death aura had returned. Enraged at the disobedience of Adam for taking the forbidden fruit, the angels apprehended them all and casted them all out of Eden, not that it mattered as the paradise garden died despite the best efforts of the angels. It was if without the forbidden fruit the garden just died, refusing to be revitalized even by God's touch.
As a result of this act of sin, Adam and Eve brought forth corruption and sin to all of humanity. All humans born from now on would be borne with the sins of the Adam and Eve and they must do whatever they can to repent for them in order to ascend into Heaven now that Eden was lost to them all.
Though Adam and Eve tried to plead their case, saying that it had to be done as Lilith's aura of death was killing everything and they feared it will affect the apple of forbidden knowledge as well, the angels weren't having it. So, with a heavy heart, but also determination to right the wrong that they have done, the two set out to try to repent for what they have done to them and humanity as a whole.
As for Lilith, she was sobbing to herself as things died all around her, the death aura still around her, and killed anything that got to close to her. Even Lucifer had problems getting close to her. As the woman sobbed over what all had transpired, feeling that everything that just occurred was her fault, Lucifer comforted her, bringing her face to his chest as his wings wrapped themselves around her.
Eventually, she stopped and begged Lucifer to stay with her, saying he was the only thing she had left. Seeing the broken woman beg for him was enough for the archangel to grant her request. She already had too much taken away from her, he refused to allow anything more to be taken away.
And so, he brought her to Heaven, causing an anger from the other angels, including Michael, as she was partly to blame for Eden's destruction and the eating of the forbidden apple, but Lucifer wasn't having any of it. He communed with God and begged him to have Lilith as his wife and for her to stay in Heaven. He also begged for God to remove the aura of death around her so she doesn't bring more ruin to other things unintentionally. However, to his anger and shock, God refused.
He told him that the aura of death was something he cannot remove from Lilith and that she cannot stay in Heaven, lest she contaminate everything in Heaven as she did Eden. This enraged Lucifer, but not as much when God commanded him to abandon Lilith and attend his duties as an archangel of Heaven. This, coupled with the heretical thoughts he had before as well as the incident before, caused Lucifer to explode. He accused God of being a hypocrite that didn't truly care for his creations and that he disposed of them after they become something they're not meant to be. He also told him that his way of doing things was flawed and that he was not a god, nor a being deserving of love if he abandoned his creations like he was doing to Lilith. His outburst was a source of outrage and shock for all angels present.
Michael had to be restrained by Gabriel and Raphael. Uriel was stunned enough at what Lucifer just said to even move. And Azrael just stood aloof to all this. God, however, was unmoved and simply allowed Lucifer to continue his tirade. Eventually, Lucifer said he could no longer follow someone like God if he abandoned his creations like Lilith and so, he abandoned his title of Archangel and left Heaven, taking Lilith to the one place where it was even remotely safe for her or didn't remind her of all she lost. Hell, a realm that was created long before God and Heaven ever came to be.
From there, they worked hard to restore her to her original beauty, eventually forcing to resort to dark magic to restore her beauty to what it was and even then they had to have help from someone that now serves as a loyal servant to Lucifer. They worked hard to become the rulers of Hell, overthrowing the original king and queen of Hell. Not that it was hard for they had grown fat and lazy since none of the rulers of Hell thought anyone from Heaven would dare come to their domain, something that Lucifer immediately rectified following his ascension as king of hell, knowing it was best to have strong, capable underlings and subordinates in order to effectively rule a kingdom. And they worked hard to spawn their daughter. For that aura of death around Lilith had made it nearly impossible for her to sire children and Lucifer refused to be intimate with anyone else.
That was the reason that Lucifer left hell. No war. No violent takeover of Heaven. Just a violent temper tantrum that Lucifer saw as justified and continued to see as justified. The exterminations in his realm he saw as further justification of his actions as he saw them as proof of God's inability to truly love his creations if he sends his angels to kill them all.
To Lucifer, God's love wasn't genuine. It was more akin to the love one had for their car or trophy. The love was only there because those objects made someone feel special. For God's case, they were his various creations, to which he threw away as disposable once they become something he no longer desires or is ashamed of, like Lilith. He had the power to remove her death aura. He had the power to foresee that Lilith was alive. And he had the power to stop Adam from taking the forbidden fruit and eat it. All this and he did nothing. Just allowed it to happen. And then he threw them away once they did something bad. Not giving them another chance. It sickened Lucifer that he used to look up to God. And it continued to sicken him as the exterminations started when the Archangels decided that Hell was becoming too crowded with human sinners and that something must be done about it.
When he first heard of the Exterminations were going to occur, Lucifer's rage was great. He wanted to go right up to Heaven with his demonic armies and fight them on their own home, but ultimately decided against it. Much as Lucifer was powerful, he wasn't strong enough to take on the other Archangels. At least at once. Michael was the best fighter of them all, but Lucifer was confident he could beat him. He always did rely more on bladework instead of magical prowess. A mistake that cost him several mock duels between him and Lucifer. But the others weren't slouches in combat either. Even though none of them really indulged in training, finding it abhorrent and a disgrace to God's teaching to be a fighter, they still could give Lucifer a hard time. So, combining them all, fighting together, Lucifer just can't beat them all. And that wasn't including the fact that none of his Overlords or the other demonic leaders in Hell were capable of fighting the angels yet. They were just as powerful as the angels, with some having power rivaling the Archangels of Heaven, but they were inexperienced in warfare and actual battle. Most had experience in fighting as they fought each other for territory, but none were great in a one to one against something that can actually kill them. None of the Overlords and Goetia demons had ways to kill each other permanently. The best they can do is just do enough damage to their rivals that they're out of commission for some time that enables them to grab some of their territory. So, they don't have any idea how to actually fight someone with the ability to kill them and that was something that Lucifer knew would be a huge factor in a war against Heaven. So, much as Lucifer hated it, he allowed the exterminations to occur while he trained his demonic legions to one day fight Heaven so that these assaults against his kingdom would stop. So, he could finally be free of his creator and be left alone in his own kingdom.
And all that was probably why he disliked Mordekaiser and why he didn't axe their grudge against each other.
Mordekaiser, in many ways, reminded him of God. Like God, he was stubborn in that his ways were the correct ways of doing things. The way he tossed away his first army when he led them against Lucifer and then used them was building blocks for his fortress city reminded Lucifer of the situation with Lilith and Adam, thus he hated him for that. He was, in many ways, a tyrant, something that caused some anger from the Iron Revenant, though it was more annoyance than true anger.
Whereas Lucifer allowed his Overlords and subjects to be free without much interference from the former Archangel unless they did something to draw his ire or cause so much damage to Hell that he can't let it go unpunished, Mordekaiser kept a strong grip on his people's lives, always knowing what they did unless they earned his complete trust. Where Lucifer allowed his Overlords and the Goetia demons freedom to indulge in whatever suited their tastes and wants, Mordekaiser had his lieutenants and generals focus only on things that can benefit the Immortal Bastion as a whole and not just themselves. And where Lucifer did things out of his own beliefs and love, Mordekaiser seemed to do so because he believes his ways were the best for all, not out of love, but through cold logic and that was something that reminded Lucifer too much of God.
That being said, he respected the fear he gave to the angels of Heaven. Ever since that first assault on his home, they've avoided him and his people like a plague, his magic and being was something they've never seen before in their lives. And it's effectiveness in combating them as something that unnerved even Michael if he's ordered his people to avoid the Immortal Bastion ever since. He also was quite reasonable when he wasn't insulting Lucifer or his family just because he felt like it or because he wanted some form of conflict. And if he's helping out with his daughter with her foolish project, then he was willing to work with them in some things. But despite that, he still can't bring himself to end the grudge between them. Mordekaiser's similarities to God, not through their views and beliefs, but through their actions as well as his defeat at the hands of the Iron Revenant, prevented him from doing so. Pride was a thing, wasn't it.
As he dwelled in his thoughts, he suddenly felt a small hand place itself on his shoulder. Looking over, he saw his wife, Lilith, giving a small smile as she walked over to him and began to trace a hand over his chest as she placed herself in Lucifer's lap.
"I take it you just saw the interview." Said Lilith as she traced her fingers over Lucifer's chin, causing the fallen angel to smile as he looked over her beautiful silver eyes, restored through someone that now was completely loyal to him.
"Yes, I have." Said Lucifer as he placed a hand over one of Lilith's arms, feeling the smooth skin with his claws.
"And I take it you grew upset over the mention of the Iron Revenant." Said Lilith. Lucifer just smiled at Lilith.
"You know me too well." Said Lucifer as he began to playfully twirl a few locks of her long, blond hair. "I honestly didn't expect Mordekaiser would help Charlotte in her desire to redeem a few souls. Then again, he's probably doing it for ulterior motives like Rosie."
"I wouldn't put it past him." Said Lilith. "Doing things for purely humanitarian reasons, if at all. It isn't in his character to do so." Lucifer just nodded in agreement as he wondered what his motives were in helping his daughter in redeeming some souls.
If there was one thing that Mordekaiser hated more than Lucifer and his way of ruling, it was the angels and Heaven. For some reason, he hated the angels and God, seeing them as more fools than Lucifer himself. If Lucifer didn't know any better, Mordekaiser was preparing his armies to take over Heaven so he can expand his kingdom more, his hatred about the denizens of Heaven more than whatever dislike he had for Lucifer and his subjects, enough for him to make deals with them at generous prices, if such a thing can be said for his shrewd business makers and alchemists. So, it wouldn't make sense for Mordekaiser to redeem a few souls so they can go to Heaven, a place he hates. So, what was Mordekaiser's reasoning for helping Charlotte?
Favors? There wasn't anything in Hell that he can't make or take. Improving relations with the Magne family? If it weren't for his constant insults at Lucifer whenever they meet, then it was a possible reason. Just because? Please.
As Lucifer wondered what Mordekaiser's reasons were for helping his daughter, he felt his wife place her chest near his cheek.
"Perhaps it's time to meet up with Mordekaiser face to face and end your little grudge against him." Suggested Lilith as she indulged in her little foreplay with her husband. "It's been tens of thousands of years since you two met and things have went positive between you and him. Your kingdoms are trading and working with each other in protecting assets from the Exterminations or through common interests. Everyone has become used to them, even the most stuck up and arrogant of the Goetia family, respects them and does business with them. All that's left is for you to axe the grudge between you two and everything will go well for all. It's not like you two are actually fighting against each other, even if I have to keep you two from brawling when a particular touchy subject comes into play, which is nearly all the time with him." Lucifer sighed at that.
"Perhaps, but I don't think I can do such a thing, my queen." Said Lucifer as he pulled away from Lilith's soft chest. "Call it foolish pride, but I refuse to be the one that axe the rivalry between us. Not until I get one up over him." Lilith sighed at that. Men.
"You'll eventually be forced to end it when Charlotte inevitably starts a celebration over her first redeemed soul." Said Lilith as she placed her chest once against Lucifer's cheek. "She'll be bringing over all her investors in the celebrations and no doubt invite us to it as well. And she'll no doubt ask you to make peace with Mordekaiser, who will undoubtedly be there as well. So, might as well do it before Mordekaiser decides to use Charlotte against you, which he can do it effectively he wants. He may be a brute, but he's a brute that knows how to use words and people against others." Lucifer just nodded at that, recalling his first meeting with the Iron Revenant before he became a hulking mass of metal.
"I'll keep that in mind." Promised Lucifer, causing Lilith to smile. "But first," He then placed a hand over one of her breasts and squeezed, making Lilith to moan and for her horns to grow a bit in lust. "Let's indulge in each other's company. Your band is on break?"
"For five hours." Said Lilith as she removed Lucifer's hat and tossed it somewhere. "More than enough time to devour you." Lucifer just smiled before taking his wife right then and there.
Meanwhile
Mordekaiser
Mordekaiser was watching the interview featuring Rosie and how she was so confidently dealing with all those around her, making them feel like children, much to the enragement of miss Killjoy, and giving a much better picture to the Hazbin Hotel than Charlie's interview. No doubt this will cause people to check in on the hotel, if not for redemption, then for a place to stay and have some delectable food. Rosie wasn't one to skimp on anything, including the minor things. That was something that Mordekaiser respected. That being said, seeing the woman before him in all her glory made his soul, or what was left of it, churn for her. To have her as his queen and to have intimate moments with her, even if he was essentially a suit of metal. For, though he had many spouses and wives during his time in the living, only she was the one he wanted to be his queen. To be his co-ruler for his kingdom of the damned. For it was only because of her that he was able to achieve all this.
Recalling those days, Mordekaiser remembered those days firmly. How could he forget? For if it weren't for the kindness of Rosie, taking pity on a single sinner just because she felt like it, he wouldn't be what he was today. If anything, he would just be erased from existence, his leftover essence becoming furniture for someone and that was an undignified way to go. And if it weren't for her keeping silent over everything that occurred during his attempt to become what he was, then everything about the Immortal Bastion would never occur. He owed her everything and he knew it well. But that wasn't the only reason, no. He knew that she also loved him and still continued to love him if their last encounter was any indication.
There was something about him that just sparked something in the Hell-born. Something that caused her to want to ravage him and make him hers. Something that was mutually shared by Mordekaiser. Perhaps it was his iron resolve? Perhaps it was just a quick one-off deal that unintentionally became something more? Or perhaps Rosie was so insecure being one of the weakest Overlords that she felt safe and secure around him. He didn't know. What he did know, however, was that both wanted to be with each other and that something was keeping them apart. But what?
Mordekaiser knew for certain that Lucifer wasn't involved. He wouldn't do something like this. He would have done something more extravagant and humiliating for him, especially in their earlier years, where this would have been more effective. And even if he just found out recently of Rosie's history with him, he would have announced it all to the public to get a raise from him or just because. He wasn't very subtle.
The angels? Well, they were a possibility, but any angelic intrusion to Hell would have been found out and accounted for. So, who was behind all this? Mordekaiser was determined to figure it all out and punish those behind it. For now, though, he would be patient and help the princess in her naïve passion project, even if it gave a few souls to Heaven, a place he disliked immensely, such was the price of getting her to end the grudge between him and Lucifer that has went on for too long.
Sitting in his throne, Mordekaiser began to recall sweet memories of Rosie, including the more…intimate ones. Oh yes.
