Chapter 12

Rosie

Rosie was normally a patient woman, but she wasn't in a situation that allowed much time to be wasted. Her son was in danger and so was the entirety of Hell. There was no time for things like waiting for one of her trusted subordinates to pick up a phone! Using her hotel room's phone, Rosie was trying to contact either Helska or Dryska so they can both protect her son and to help her tell everyone about the bitch angel that was the source of her problems. Some of them at least. Unfortunately, twice she called them to no avail. Her calls just went to an automated voice mail whenever it took too long for the twins to pick up the phone. She already left them a voice mail, but she needed to speak with them now. If they didn't pick up the phone now so help those two when she met up with them again face to face. Not even their near-flawless record of serving her will save them from her wrath.

Fortunately, she didn't have to wait much longer as her call was finally answered.

"Who is this?" Demanded, much to Rosie's relief, Helska. Good, she would do exactly what Rosie wanted her and her sister to do without much explanation. "You've called this number four times now. Who are you and why do you keep calling us? If you're a salesman or woman, I'm afraid to tell you that I'm not interested in what your…"

"As much as I'm pleased to hear you be smart regarding phone calls, Helska, this isn't the time." Interrupted Rosie, stunning Helska.

"Miss Rosie!" Exclaimed Helska after recovering from the initial shock of hearing her Overlord. "Forgive me, I didn't know it was you."

"You're forgiven." Said Rosie as she placed a hand on her hip. "Now tell me what has occurred in my absence. I take it there was some panic when my room was found in such a messy state." That caused Helska to gulp before speaking.

"Yes. When an Imp servant found your room, panic ensued. Dryska and I managed to get things under control. Some thought you were dead, but many of us knew you were not easy to kill. So, Dryska is currently searching for you along with a handful of others." Explained Helska. "We would send more, but that would raise suspicion and we didn't want your rivals to learn of your disappearance in your own home." Rosie nodded in satisfaction at that. Good. If her rivals heard that she was attacked in her own home, they may see that as a sign of weakness and attack her. Not something she wanted right now with what was going on. "Should we send someone to pick you up?"

"As much as I would like that to happen." Said Rosie as she twirled a piece of hair. "I'm afraid I'm calling you to do something else for me." There was a small pause before Helska spoke again.

"What is it you want me to do, my Overlord?" Asked Helska, wondering what Rosie wanted her to do.

"As you know, my son is currently locked in a deal with my fellow Overlord, Alastor." Said Rosie. "A deal that unfortunately needs to be called off now." Hearing that shocked Helska. Calling off a deal with a deal maker was something that was almost never done. Dealmakers tend to be extremely stubborn when it comes to making deals and will be hard-pressed to be convinced to call one-off, even if it's for a good reason. Some because they were just that stubborn or prideful and others because it could ruin their reputation. After all, some may see a deal maker as being weak if they can't maintain their deals with others. As far as Helska knows, there had only been a handful of times that a deal has been called off and usually because there was something that a deal maker wanted more than keeping their deal.

"Why?" Asked Helska, shocked. "If you wanted to call off the deal, why didn't you do so before? Surely your friendship with Alastor would have convinced him to be lenient in wanting something of value for breaking the deal with your son, my lady."

"Alastor and I are friends." Confirmed Rosie. "But that won't be enough to convince him to break the deal. He has a reputation, you see. A reputation that will be hampered a bit if he suddenly breaks off a deal at the request of a friend. And in this plane of existence, reputation can mean the difference between life or death."

"So, what do you want me to do?" Asked Helska. "If your friendship can't convince him, what can I do?"

"Simple." Said Rosie. "You're going to tell him the truth of how my son came to be and why Mordekaiser doesn't know him." That shocked Helska a great deal, nearly causing her glasses to fall off her face. She and her sister knew of how their Overlord's son was conceived and who was ultimately responsible for it, Rosie trusting them above all besides her son and Mordekaiser. Though she loved and respected Rosie's son, she will still hurt, and hopefully help kill, that angel for putting her Overlord through such pain.

That being, she and her sister would obey any and all orders given by their Overlord. And, prior to this day, she forbade both her and her sister from trying to get back at that Angel. The armor she wore indicated that she was a soldier, one trained in the arts of combat. Much as it may hurt the pride of Dryska, neither of them was talented enough to defeat an Angel trained in the arts of war, even with them working together. Thus, for their own safety, Rosie ordered them to never go after her or even tell anyone else about what she told them, lest they become targets for this Kayle's wrath. Though that all seemed to change now.

"My lady." Said Helska, shocked at all this. This was unlike her Overlord to be so aggressive. She normally preferred to be subtle and to never be linked to any of her more controversial actions. Now, however, it seemed that she was going for a blunt attack. "This is unprecedented for you. Are…things really that bad?"

"Yes." Said Rosie as she clenched the bathrobe that she was wearing, having slept with it as she had her dress cleaned up from all the dirt it got while coming to the hotel. "The Angel, Kayle, was the one that destroyed my room and forced me on the run. I haven't seen her since she tried to kill me, though I know that she's out there, attempting to find a way to kill me without attracting too much attention from the other denizens of Hell. Or she is simply waiting for me to make a move towards warning Mordekaiser, Lucifer, or even the princess of what has happened along with who she is, so she can kill me there or whatever else she has planned for me. I don't know. What I do know, however, is that the time for waiting and being under the thumb of that angel is over. The time has come to finally deal with that angel once and for all. And I need you and your sister to help me in it." Upon hearing all that, Helska sighed.

"If that is what you wish then my sister and I are at your service." Said Helska, somewhat worried that this will all come back to bite them in the end. Still, her Overlord needed her, and she will serve.

"Good." Said Rosie, satisfied. "Now, as you know, dealing with a warrior from Heaven is next to suicide for most denizens of Hell. And as much as both you and your sister are capable fighters, I'm afraid you both have no chance against Kayle. At least with what you have available. Thus, I want you two to go to the Black Market first and acquire some…items of great illegality that one wonders how they were made in the first place. Some of them at least. Have a pen and paper ready, Helska, it's a long list." Helska thus brought out a notepad and pen, ready to write down whatever Rosie tells her to get, which she soon did. And boy was she right in that the list was long. After Rosie was finished, Helska asked her if all this was necessary. "Do you want you and your sister to live?" When Helska said yes, Rosie spoke up again. "Then get everything in that list. They are your best chance at survival, I assure you."

"Understood." Said Helska. "Finances won't be an issue, I take it?"

"Yes." Said Rosie after a bit of hesitation. Now was not the time to let her greed get the best of her. Her life was on the line and possibly her sons' as well. "Now after you purchase or take, I care not how you acquire it all, go to the Princess' hotel and tell them everything as well as plead to Alastor to break the deal he has with my son. Is that understood?"

"Yes ma'am." Said Helska. "As soon as Dryska comes back, we'll be on our way. Don't worry ma'am, we'll not let you down."

"I know you won't." Said Rosie. "And make sure that Dryska doesn't waste too much time on her urges as well as ruin my finances too much as well. Understood? I'll be out of contact for a while as I drift from place to place to keep Kayle off of me, so it'll be up to you to keep her in line."

"Understood." Said Helska before Rosie ended the call. Once she did, Helska looked at the list and hummed. "This may take a while."

Sighing, Rosie was about to take a beauty nap when she felt the familiar power and residue of a portal being formed across a rooftop from her hotel. Turning to where she felt it came from, she noticed a figure going through a portal before it closed. Narrowing her eyes, Rosie, at first thought it was Kayle or someone working for her, but she noticed at the last second a tail from the figure that went through the portal. An Imp's tail. Not only that, but this portal was demonic in nature. And as far as she knew, no Imp can make portals on their own, not without some sort of powerful book.

Placing a finger on her lip, Rosie wondered what this all meant and what to do with this information.

Few hours later

Blitzo

"Okay, we go and do this job then we go back to spying on that Overlord bitch." Said Blitzo as Loona opened up a portal to where they needed to go to off someone for a client. It was a quick one and the client was offering a lot of money for this one. Blitzo couldn't refuse.

"Sir, shouldn't at least one of us stay behind to watch over Miss Rosie?" Asked Moxxie, worried that Mordekaiser will be displeased at them for neglecting their duties, even for just a few hours, and send Mortem, or worse, Hecarim or Thresh after them for it. Moxxie, of course, was against the whole idea of them leaving their assigned duty to go kill someone, especially since they're getting paid a great deal by Mordekaiser to just watch Rosie, but Blitzo wasn't having it. The client for this particular job was impatient as hell and was paying a good amount of money for them to kill someone. If they don't do this job, then they were losing a good bit of money and that was something that Blitzo had no intentions of losing. Plus, they may go up and write a bad review for them and that'll hurt their business a bit, even though they're the only business in Hell that goes and kills people in the living world for the denizens of Hell. Besides, he was getting bored of just watching one demon Overlord doing nothing but stay in her room all day. Unlike the situation with Lyle Lipton, all he was doing was observing and not trying to kill or convince Rosie to off herself for money. And he was expected to observe her for god knows how long! No way in hell was he going to do that boring job, even for good money, without something exciting to pass the time. "I mean Mordekaiser will not be pleased with all for neglecting our duties and you know he isn't like Stolas. Having sex with him will not make him let things go. If anything, it'll probably really anger him if you offer that."

"Yeah." Said Loona with a roll of her eyes after finishing the portal. "Mate really needs to get laid. Probably why he has us stalk that Overlord slut. Guys' probably a big simp and wants her for himself."

"Simp?" Asked Moxxie confusedly, confused at the term.

"Yeah. Simp." Said Loona. "Get with the times' old man." Moxxie groaned at that.

"Oh relax, Moxxie." Said Blitz. "It's not like Mordekaiser and his guys will find out. Besides, what's the worst that can happen while we're away?"

"Calm down, Mox." Said Millie, cheering her husband up. "We'll be in and out really quick. Besides, when we last saw Rosie, she was all safe and cozy in that hotel room she was in. No way she's going to leave it after one day of staying there."

"I guess." Said Moxxie, still unsure about all this, but knew that he had to go along with this job anyhow. "Let's just do this job quick, alright. I don't want to think what will happen if Mordekaiser figures out what happened." Blitzo just laughed at Moxxie's fear before going through the portal with Millie in tow. Moxxie went through last, grumbling to himself at how much of a bad idea this all was.

"Oh, shut your pie hole, Mox!" Said Blitzo as the portal closed. "It's going to be a quick job, alright. What the fuck can we face that can fuck shit up for us?!"

Meanwhile

"Okay, so let me get this straight. You want this job with us, even though you have no references, no past work experiences that seem fit for this organization, no fucking family or friends to vouch for you, got no fucking history that we can dig upon you, and, worst of all, you dress up like a god damn anime girl!" Yelled a buff man wearing a black tuxedo and pants, wearing black sunglasses that covered their eyes, preventing people from seeing the glare that he was giving to the girl in front of him. Said girl that was currently giving him a sad pout.

Said girl's description was also rather on point. She looked like someone that came straight out of a Japanese anime. One that focused more on pretty girls than plot or anything else of substance.

Wearing a flowing fancy white and dark blue dress that had golden stars laced in regular intervals over its skirt area, the young girl was probably around her teens or just entered her early twenties, which just made the man even more creeped out by her if she was in her twenties. He was also creeped out by her long blue hair that looked natural being held back by a large bow into curly twin-tails, but even more creepy were her eyes. One was a brilliant teal color with the other being jarring violent. Not only that but her pupils were both star-shaped. All in all this chick was really creepy even without the Japanese getup. Pouting more, the girl spoke up.

"Why yes." Said the girl, her voice naturally echoing for some reason, making the man even more creepy of her. "No other organizations can provide me the means to find those that I must find. Any that will believe me anyway."

"Let me guess." Said the man. "Demons. You're looking for demons." Upon hearing that, the girl shook her head.

"Oh no." Said the girl with a smile. "Well, I suppose you can call them demons if you consider wraiths, liches, or spirits to be demons. As you can imagine, no other organization will take me seriously if I ask them to find such things, yes? Not in this country at least."

"Well, there is that Japanese organization that can help you." Said the man, looking at her contemptuously. "Why not go to fucking Japan, then? At least they'll like you and your get up. Maybe even help you in your own fucking problems!"

"I don't have enough currency to make the trip." Replied the girl with a frown, not liking the cursing. "And please refrain from using such foul language. It's quite unbecoming of a man to use such foul language."

"Gah!" Yelled the man, frustrated at the girl. "I can't fucking believe our recruiting standards have gone down this low! Now we're fucking hiring chicks that look like they've come straight from a weeb's wet dream or something! Gah! Why!" The man then slammed his face on the table, making it shake. Worried for him, the girl asked him if he was alright and if he wanted her to get some medicine. "Don't! Don't fucking do anything! Just let me think!" After a few minutes, the man removed his face from the table and removed his now broken glasses, revealing his eyes to be brown in color. "*Groans* Okay, now ideally I would be sending you straight off the premises for wasting my time or even having you dissected on to see if you're a demon because of all the creepy shit you have, but since we're currently in need of a new laundry girl and we got no proof of you being a demon or if there's any demon that resembles you in all of Earth's mythology, you got a job here. So fucking congratulations! Welcome to D.H.O.R.K.S., you fricking piece of anime bullshit!" Upon hearing that, the girl made a smile so big and wide that the man couldn't help but wonder what the fuck she was.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!" Said the girl, so happy that she ignored all the cursing he did. "I promise you that I'll do my very best. I'll make your clothes the nicest they've ever been! I promise you that they'll be clothes fit for kings and queens!"

"Yeah, whatever." Said the man as he clasped his face, not believing that he just hired a fucking anime cosplayer or weeb. "Just wait here and we'll get you a uniform that matches your size. Also, got to give your name so we can give you a name tag. All new employees got to have them."

"Oh, but didn't I give you it when I filled out the application?" Asked the girl, tilting her head a bit. "It's Gwen."

"Oh yeah." Said the man. "Least you got a normal name, you freak." That caused the now named Gwen to pout sadly and making her bow go down a bit, making the man freak out a bit. "Now get out of my sights. You're really freaking me out." With that, Gwen left the man to get her measured up for her uniform. Once she left, the man spoke out. "I sincerely hope that there aren't any more freaks like her out there. Can't deal with more freaks that like her in my organization. The world has enough weebs as it is. Don't need another super weeb like her."

Gwen, meanwhile, as pouting as she was walking away from the dreadful man. He was just so rude, as most men and women in this country. Always insulting her and calling her a freak. All because of what she wore and what she looked like. To make matters worse, most of those that weren't rude to her, did so for even more dreadful or artificial reasons if one can believe such things. It's not her fault that her hair and dress were like this, and neither were it the fault of her creator. Oh, how rude people can be. At least she had one friend at least. One that showed genuine affection for her and protected her from the cruelty that was life.

Speaking of said friend, a call from her phone just came in and only one person had her number. Picking it up from under her dress, Gwen spoke.

"Oh, hello!" Said Gwen cheerfully as she walked down the halls of D.H.O.R.K.S. "How goes life back home? So, I finally got a job that'll help us in our goal! After I get off, let's say we celebrate. I'll get some of that juicy meat you've been eyeing in the market nearby." After a brief talk from the other end, Gwen giggled. "No silly! I won't steal it. I've been saving up for this special occasion. Don't worry! I'll try not to spend it all in one night. See you when I get back, wolfy!" With that, she ended the call and skipped the rest of the way to her destination.

So, before I end this chapter, I want to ask a question. Are there any other League characters you all want to be added to this story beyond the Shadow Isle ones? Obviously, all of them will be added in eventually with one other region getting most of their champs as well. But is there any champion or champions people want? If you give me a good reason why they should be added along with a good scenario or idea, I'll definitely consider adding them in.

Also, before anyone asks, yes Gwen is being added in along with one other champ. I'm pretty sure that the hint at the end revealed who it is, but if anyone wants to take a gander at guessing, have at it.
