One day Caitlin, Rubble, Marshall, Everest, Jake and I were up at Mountainview Road for another meeting of the book club.

I had driven Caitlin up since her paw was still sprained from her accident at the pup park.

Caitlin and Everest had asked their boyfriends to come join us and they agreed.

Jake was just getting the books ready when a thought came to Rubble's mind.

"Hey Caitlin, how was your old family before you met Adam?" he asked.

"Yeah Caitlin what was it like back then?" asked Marshall.

"Well it is sad but it does have a happy ending." said Caitlin.

"You've only been in the PAW Patrol for about a month now," said Rubble.

"Well my old owner was called Roy, he was very kind to me until something happened," said Caitlin. "I would tell my story if you don't mind Jake."

"Not at all Caitlin, tell us." replied Jake.

Rubble put his right paw around Caitlin's neck

"Please tell us the story, Cait." he said.

"Ok Rubb, this is my story." replied Caitlin. "It all started when Roy was at the animal shelter."

This is the story Caitlin told me, Rubble, Marshall, Everest, and Jake.

One day Roy was walking to the animal shelter to adopt a pet.

Soon he arrived there.

He walked up to the front counter.

"Hello there sir." said the lady at the front desk.

"Hello ma'am," said Roy. "I'm here to adopt a pet."

"We have some puppies over there," said the lady.

"Thank you." said Roy.

He walked into the back and saw a pen with lots of puppies in it.

Then he saw a small Rottweiler pup which was Caitlin when she was very young.

"Hi there little fella." he said.

The little puppy barked playfully.

Roy picked up the little Rottweiler pup and took her to the counter.

"I'd like to adopt this pup please," he said.

The lady checked and Roy took the Rottweiler out of the animal shelter.

"Now what should I call you?" he asked the pup.

Then an idea came to him

"I have a sister called Caitlin that would be a suitable name for you." he said. "You look like a Caitlin."

The Rottweiler pup smiled and barked.

Roy was happy he had named his new pup so he took him back to his house in a town close to Adventure Bay.

"So you used to live near here?" asked Rubble.

"Yes I did." nodded Caitlin.

"Wow, that's convenient." said Marshall with a laugh.

"I guess it is," said Caitlin.

"What happens next?" asked Everest.

"Well…" said Caitlin, continuing the story.

It had been a few weeks and Caitlin was enjoying her life with Roy.

Until one day when Roy got a phone call.

After he ended the call he decided to talk to Caitlin.

Roy had decided to move away to take a new job in another city.

And his new apartment in the city did not allow dogs in the building.

He sat on the couch and Caitlin sat on it beside him.

"Caitlin I have something to tell you." he sighed.

"What is it Roy?" asked Caitlin.

"Well I got a job in another city." explained Roy.

"Wow that's great Roy!" exclaimed Caitlin, wagging her tail.

"Yeah, that's the thing, I'm moving into an apartment and no dogs are allowed there." explained Roy.

When Caitlin heard this her excitement turned into sadness.

"Oh, so I can't come with you?" she asked sadly.

"I'm sorry Caitlin but you can't, no dogs are allowed in the apartment building." said Roy.

Caitlin became very sad because her owner was gonna move away and she couldn't come with him.

"That's so sad Caitlin." I said, stroking her fur.

"Yeah it is, I told you it would be." sniffled Caitlin. "It makes me sad telling you about it."

"Oh, Caitlin." said Rubble, wrapping his left paw around Caitlin's neck. "That is sad, it reminds me of when I was with Adam."

"Wait til you hear what happens next." said Caitlin.

"Do tell." said Marshall

When Caitlin saw all the moving boxes and everything it kind of made her feel even sadder.

After Roy said goodbye to Caitlin he sadly left her on the streets.

And soon Caitlin was left all on her own.

"That reminds me of when I ran off after Adam didn't close the gate properly." said Rubble.

"Yeah it reminds me also." I said.

"Yeah my story is a little similar to yours, Adam and Rubble." said Caitlin.

"What happens next?" asked Jake.

It had been about a week of Caitlin being on her own and she was really sad, hungry and tired.

It was nighttime and Caitlin had been wandering around in Roy's old town when she spotted a pick up truck.

"Maybe that truck will take me somewhere where I can find a new home," said Caitlin.

So she hopped in the back of the pickup truck and it took Caitlin out of Roy's old town and into the countryside.

"Where is this truck going?" wondered Caitlin.

Soon the pickup truck arrived in Adventure Bay.

"What is this place?" asked Caitlin.

Soon the pickup truck arrived near the block me and my parents lived on.

Caitlin hopped out of the pickup truck and went off to wonder where she was.

She stopped near a grocery store to see if there was any food around since she was really hungry and tired.

She saw some of a hamburger someone had thrown near the trash so she had that for a meal.

Soon she ended up back at mine and my parents' street a few hours later.

Then it started to rain.

"Oh-no! I need to find shelter!" cried Caitlin.

She ran down the sidewalk until she saw my house.

"Maybe I can take shelter here." decided Caitlin.

She squeezed through a hole in my gate and went onto my back porch.

Caitlin hid under a table I had on my back porch.

She whimpered wondering if she would ever find a home.

What she didn't know is this would become her new home in Adventure Bay.

I opened my back door when I heard Caitlin's whimpering.

"Hello, anyone there?" I called.

Caitlin heard my call but she just thought I was just someone who heard it but would just ignore it once I knew what it was.

I knelt down and saw Caitlin whimpering under the table.

She gasped when she saw me.

"Hello there." I said in a small and quiet voice. "What are you doing here? it's too stormy to be out here."

"I..l.. I had to get out of the rain," shivered Caitlin, worried what I would do to her.

"Where are your owners, they must be worried about you." I said.

Caitlin sighed.

"We'll, I don't have an owner anymore, he moved away." she said sadly.

I felt sorry for Caitlin.

"Oh, that's terrible you must feel so sad." I said.

"Yes, I am uh.." said Caitlin as a confused look appeared on her face.

"Oh I'm Adam." I said.

"Hi Adam, I'm Caitlin," said Caitlin.

"Nice to meet you Caitlin." I said as I rubbed her back. "Come on, let's get you inside and get you warm."

"Thank you Adam." said Caitlin in a less sad voice.

I picked up Caitlin and took her into my house.

"And that's how I met Adam." said Caitlin finishing the story.

"Aww, that is a happy ending to a sad story." said Rubble.

"I told you it would have a happy ending." smiled Caitlin.

"I like that story," said Marshall.

"Me also little buddy." I said as I gently stroked his fur.

Marshall snuggled near me.

"You really are Marshall's best friend," said Rubble.

"Yeah and I love it." I said.

"What a good story," said Jake.

"Yeah I love that story but I still love Adam and Rubbles story." said Everest.

Marshall, Rubble, Jake, Everest and I loved Caitlin's story but we were still happy Caitlin loved her new life in Adventure Bay with me.

The End
