It's Arc 2 time! I'm sooo excited about this arc, it's no secret that I have big friends. This is a bit more of a chill chapter before we get into the action but there's still a little mischief to get into before the real plot starts. Enjoy!
"Earth to Angel, how's the new suit?" Seth spoke from their safe little spot in their new basement, while Morgan took to the skies.
"Luxurious, babe. You outdid yourself."
"I always outdo myself," Seth said, "but yes, this is some of my top-tier work."
After stripping down the buddy guards for parts, Seth was able to apply their cloaking technology to a comfortable bodysuit for Morgan, rendering her and the wings completely invisible. They'd also found a way to make the wings a little lighter while still being durable, which was good because Seth had not found a way to make the metal bat less heavy.
"You should see the stars out tonight, Seth. It's incredible. I could stay out here all night."
"Mm-hm. Remember, invisible doesn't mean undetectable. Use your invisibility to your advantage but also be careful."
"I'll be careful! I want to get home to you, after all. Because you're more radiant than all of these stars."
Seth blushed, though Morgan couldn't see it.
"Not much of a home yet. Sadie and the Suspects are coming to help us unpack tomorrow."
"Good! While they're here we can set up a double date- oh! I see a target."
"Careful," Seth warned again.
"I know, I know. I've taken down plenty of these."
"We took down plenty of these. Don't get cocky, Angel."
"Oh, you're one to talk," Morgan laughed.
"Shut up," Seth laughed as well.
"Okay, I'm going in for the kill." Invisible and wielding an equally invisible baseball bat, Morgan smashed a buddy guard out of the sky. She grabbed it before it could fall to the ground below, and then began her pilgrimage home.
Morgan couldn't help using her new invisibility and mess with Seth a little, creeping through the house and then abruptly dropping the bot at Seth's feet. Seth yelped as Morgan rematerialized.
"Brought you some fresh meat," Morgan said with a grin. Robbing Krei had been fun, that one time. But spying on Krei and gutting his dangerous robots for parts? That was something Morgan could get used to.
"Once we get security cameras installed you're not gonna be able to do that."
"Once we get anything installed I'm not gonna be able to do that. The minute you get your workshop up and running I'm not going to be able to sneak up on you. So I had to do it now."
"Of course you did. How was it? Was it a smooth flight? Did you face any resistance?"
"Well, the buddy guard put up a bit of a fight," Morgan said with a shrug.
Seth grew concerned, "Are you hurt? Do you need anything? Is there something I can do?"
"Seth, babe, relax. You designed my suit well, and your girlfriend can dodge a few lasers. I'm good."
"You better be. The second you aren't we're shutting this down and going back to the drawing board. I'm not losing you."
"No one is losing anyone, babe, I promise." Morgan shimmied her suit off, wearing plain clothes underneath, and wrapped her arms around Seth comfortingly.
"I'm just a little anxious, what with… Everything, you know. Everything is really new, our relationship, our home, this vengeance thing. And vengeance looks really good on you, and I'll always be here to support you. But I… I can't lose what we just got."
"And I won't do anything to put that in danger," Morgan promised, pressing a kiss to Seth's cheek.
"I won't either. I love you, Morgan."
"I love you too. And if you asked me too, I'd give up vengeance entirely."
Seth laughed a little, "Let's not go that far. I still want to rule the city, remember?"
Seth's laugh was infectious, and Morgan doubled over, "Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you will one day."
"We will." Seth was always quick to include, and incriminate, both of them.
"We will. Now, shouldn't we go to bed? We have a busy day tomorrow."
Seth guffawed, "You actually want to go to bed early? Who are you and what have you done with Morgan?"
"I'm the same Morgan," she promised, "I just have someone to go to bed with now."
"Oh." Seth's whole face was swallowed in a blush and they had to look away. Morgan had a way of always making them melt.
"We do have a busy day tomorrow," Seth agreed, trying not to show how head over heels they felt right now. But Morgan knew. She could see the effect she had on Seth and she relished it.
Seth got up early the next morning to make breakfast, but Morgan wasn't that far behind.
"You went to bed early and now you're up early? On a Saturday? What's gotten into you, sugar?"
"Just excited to set our house up. I never got to have this domestic future with Tadashi… I'm just really happy to be here with you." Morgan didn't like to compare her relationships, but sometimes it slipped out.
Seth smiled but didn't linger on the sentiment, "Have you told them that we're dating yet?"
"Told who?"
"Our friends. Hiro. Et cetera."
Morgan frowned, "How am I supposed to tell Hiro? He's been so shaken since the catastrophe, and my relationship with him is already rocky."
"Yeah, that's fair and there's no pressure, but I want to be able to talk to my friends about our relationship."
"Ah, they're your friends now?" Morgan asked without malice.
"Well. Mine. Ours. I don't know, what do you want me to say?"
"I think it's fine to say that they're your friends. Big Hero 6 doesn't like me. They love you, however. It's inexplicable but there it is."
Seth crossed their arms, "Inexplicable? I'm awesome."
"Yeah, but I'm awesome too and they still hate me."
"They don't hate you, they just think you're a criminal."
"I'm not a criminal, I'm an anti-hero. But that doesn't matter much to them..."
"They'll come around. Maybe when they find out you're dating me they'll come around faster. Plus maybe us dating will distract them from us stealing and repurposing buddy guards."
Morgan rolled her eyes, "Okay, you can tell them. After things get settled down around here. When's Sadie coming?"
"About two hours from now. We can eat breakfast and get started on the lair." Sadie, Dalton, and Bennet weren't allowed to help in the basement, on account of all the anti-heroics that happened down there. At this point, it had been months since Krei was first robbed and no one was talking about the Angel of Vengeance. Seth intended to keep it that way, which meant keeping it a secret from Sadie and the others.
"Alright."
A few hours later, Sadie arrived with her entourage.
"I brought banana bread," Dalton said.
"I brought beer," Bennet said.
"I brought a cat," Sadie said, "courtesy of Simon."
"What do you mean, courtesy of Simon?" Seth demanded, as the stripey brown cat leaped out of Sadie's box and made themself at home. Lulu seemed entirely unbothered by the new cat, simply continuing to chase her toy around the room while the newbie lounged in a sunny spot.
"You know how he is. He gets into trouble and tries to shove it off on us when he's done. Apparently, stray cats just fucking flock to him. But Dalton's apartment doesn't allow pets, and you guys already have Lulu…"
"Yes, fine, we'll take Beans," Seth said.
"Beans?" Morgan asked.
"You named Lulu it's only fair I get to name this little guy. Uh. Girl."
"Okay, Lulu and Beans."
"Adorable. We already have two daughters," Seth said, already warming up to the idea of another cat.
"Speaking of adorable, you two are the cutest. I can't believe it took you so long to start dating," Sadie exclaimed.
Bennet snorted.
"What?" Sadie asked.
"It took you forever to get up to the nerve to ask either of us out," Bennet reminded.
"Yeah because I was waiting for one of you dumbasses to ask me out. Stupid." Sadie turned bright red as she made up excuses for herself.
"Sure…" Bennet laughed and ducked before Sadie could swat him.
Dalton turned the conversation back to the matter at hand, "Tell us where to start and we'll begin unpacking."
"Anywhere but the basement. Basement is off-limits because Seth is very particular about their workspace," Morgan said. And definitely not because they were hiding stolen robot parts…
"Alright team, let's get to work."
They spent the entire morning unpacking and getting things settled and then went out for lunch. Dalton had set up their kitchen nearly perfectly, Bennet had organized Seth's figurines and Sadie had organized Morgan's clothes. Morgan and Seth had already been at home with each other but now their house reflected that.
"It's perfect," Morgan announced.
"Let's go get Yaki Taco," Seth announced.
"This doesn't count for our first double date, does it? Because I'm not dressed for that," Morgan said.
"You look hot, babe," Sadie and Seth said at the exact same time before exchanging a look.
"If everyone is free next Saturday night we could go then," Seth suggested.
"I have work," Sadie said.
"We could go anyways, there's still four of us," Seth said, smirking at their sister.
"That's just mean." Sadie stuck her tongue out at them.
"Well maybe if it's just the four of us you won't flirt with my girlfriend."
"I flirt with your girlfriend all the time! It's never been a problem for you, Morgan, or my boyfriends!"
"That's 'cause she wasn't my girlfriend before! There are new boundaries now."
"That's… Fair. I can probably get Booker to cover my shift Saturday, and I won't flirt with Morgan anymore."
"Thank you, that's all I ask."
Morgan raised her hand.
"Yes, sugar?"
"Can I still flirt with Sadie?"
Seth scowled and Sadie burst out laughing.
"I guess?" Seth sighed.
"So it's settled, Morgan and Bennet can flirt with anyone, Seth and Sadie can never flirt, and Dalton-"
Dalton picked up where Morgan left off, "And Dalton only has eyes for Sadie and Bennet."
"Aww, you always find a way to make the jokes wholesome," Bennet said, kissing Dalton's cheek. Sadie kissed the other cheek and Dalton blushed happily.
"Alright, enough sap, seriously, let's go get lunch." Seth denounced the sappiness, but they were holding Morgan's hand as they walked out to their car.
They were still joking and flirting when they sat down to eat their tacos. Seth was "possessively" snuggled into Morgan's side. They had become the PDA that they used to despise. And they were so consumed by Morgan that they didn't notice Hiro and Fred walk in. But Morgan noticed, and Hiro noticed, the two staring at each other like deer in the headlights until Hiro turned out walked out. Both Hiro and Morgan's appetites were destroyed now.
Question of the Week: What's one thing you want to happen in arc 2? Or, what one thing from season 2 do you want to see in arc 2?
