Aidzuki POV
"Ugh!" I exclaim as i collapse to the ground in a sweaty heap. I lay there panting as i look just in time to see jacob running past panting just as hard as i am. My everything ACHES!
"GET UP PUP! NOW." Sensei said as she sat on the ground crisscross.
She woke us up early, so early in fact we seemed to have beat the sun outside. She then plopped down in her current spot and asked- no ORDERED us to do squats until she deemed it enough. And now the sun is high in the sky hidden by the usual clouds. Thank goodness, heat would only make this worse. All this while she meditated only opening her eyes when she felt or heard one of us stop moving.
I was doing sit-ups and jacob was running laps around us behind the treeline. He has yet to show any signs of being tired other then sweating and panting but that only seemed to fuel his energy. Actually it seems like he went from a light jog to full speed running. Like shouldn't he be SLOWING down. Is he not tired.
I whine as i push myself to stand on my hands and knees. "To think i thought wolf boy wouldn't be able to keep up with you! It's like you didn't use what i taught you to train all this time. You'd at least be able to do the basics." She glared at me the disappointment in her gaze very apparent. I just gave a 'you know i haven't' smile in return. But seriously THIS was the basics!
As a kid i wasn't really interested in the physical side of training. I'd always try to get out of it some how. But my sensei was literally a warrior so i never got away. But when we trained the mind and soul i was very much invested in it that's how i learned to speak to spirits and even to switch to the parallel sprite realm. Like when i met...Mary?
Anyways sensei always told me that a balance of mind, body, and soul were important for unleashing my powers full potential. I however disagreed with her.
She bared her teeth not amused in the least bit. She growled "switch!" I let my head drop as i whined again. I really hope she meant to say 'break'. But then again that coming from her mouth doesn't mean relax. I shiver.
Kami please make it so she forgot about the 'breaks'.
I stood up and began my stumble to the treeline. I haven't felt this tired since Akaiame-sensei first started training me when i was like four. Yes four.
BUT IT'S NOT LIKE SHE HAD A FOUR YEAR OLD TRAINING NON-STOP OR ANYTHING. I would trade those sessions for this one anytime. She is strict and kinda mean, and there were times i didn't really like her at all. But she had limits and wasn't to harsh. So i Never hated her. She wasn't really unkind just...hard. Some would say like ice, i'd say more like a teddy bear.
A teddy bear with surprisingly hard muscle and skin... And was more bear then teddy. I smile, either way i'm happy she's my sensei.
I spot jacob running towards me on his way to my previous position. He flashes me a bright smile as he's jogging. I bite my lip and smile as i look away bashfully. A half naked sweaty jacob does funny things to my lower tummy.
Not watching where i was going i trip over, you'll never believe this, my own freaking feet. I swear bella has a curse that rubbed of on me. And guess who happened to be in front of me as i fell. You guessed it. Jacob.
He was unable to stop as he skids to a stop causing him to slip back and of course i fall on top of him. Cause you know kami's just like.
Why not?
"Umph." I land on him heavily. With wide eyes i lift up my head to peak at jacob. I blush when my eyes meet his.
"O-oh i-i-im sssor-" i stumble.
"Haha wow you are very clumsy all of a sudden. Good thing i was here to catch you. Wouldn't want you rearranging your face." He said caressing my cheek. Which heat up even more.
"I'm n-not clumsy. You should w-watch where you're going." I say struggling to regain my bearings. I sit up and using his chest to do so both my legs on either side of him.
Don't blush. Don't blush. Don't blush.
"A-and a scar or two would look awesome on my face. Sorry but i don't need your assistance prince charming." I said turning my nose up in the air.
He slides his hands up my thighs as he smirks. "Oh so...you find me charming?" I blush as i glare down at him. I'm met with half lidded honey brown eyes clouded by a deep admiration and fondness. Heat ran through my body as i find myself unable to take my eyes off his.
I shiver involuntarily as a strange fluttering explodes in my stomach. My heart speeds up and i'm suddenly in a trance. I'm stuck in those expressive brown eyes, which i find aren't just one brown. They have streaks of light brown and streaks of brown so dark they seem almost black. He always talks about my eyes being beautiful but has he ever looked at his...
For a split second i wondered what i was doing. Sitting atop jacob, who'd I've yet to forgive, admiring him for his gorgeous eyes. I didn't want to send jacob the wrong signs, so why couldn't i look away... Why was i being drawn into them.
This was dangerous.
"Stop flirting! And GET BACK TO TRAINING." We both start. 'It's like as if i left my body' i think as i notice how close i was to jacob. Our breath were mingling. I must've leaned in.
I sit up in a hurry to get away from... This. I avoid the wide eyed stare jacob was giving me. I stand quickly almost losing my balance, again, and without a word or glance began jogging to the treeline.
What was i thinking. I shouldn't have stayed in that position for such a long time. Well at least it felt long. Almost like time stopped altogether. Of course being close to him has such an effect on me after months of being denied that intimacy it like once i get it i don't want it to stop. The big problem is that my mind and body are at constant war over it.
My mind needs more time to heal. I can't stop thinking about being on the brink of death because he didn't love. Actually it's more like he did but couldn't come to terms and took it out on me. But when i heard how orders worked i understood a little more. I know it wasn't easy for jacob either. He had to use bella, his best friend as an excuse to even be around me. But that doesn't excuse the pain i felt. He was still an ass after all.
My body on the other hand nearly vibrated with the need to touch him, to feel his warmth. Sometimes it would come to the point where i felt myself reaching out before i could even think. There was a comfort only jacob's skin could bring me. I was obsessed with touching soft skin covering hard muscle. I was obsessed with listening to the word that came out of his mouth.lk I've never met anyone as kind and despite our rough patch i still believed him to be the most honest.o
I shake my head and run faster so the smells and sounds of sensei and jacob would disappear. Enough thinking about him. I think it's time to work on me.
I can't let my fears keep me from forgiving Jacob. I love him and want to be with him. The first thing to do is for me to heal cause no matter how much Jacob apologize or takes care of me. I can't let those feeling go unless i let them go.
As i continue running farther away the smells of the two i left behind slowly get replaced by the scents of fresh water and i'm soon running beside a stream that gets Deeper as i go.
When i was sure they couldn't sense me anymore i slow to a stop. Back home when Akaiame sent me to run or on a short 'mission' like getting water or gathering fruit i'd take a break even though i'm not supposed to.
I sit beside the stream and place my hand into the cool water. I sigh.
A fish jumps out of the water and into my lap. I stare at it curiously. The fish then shifts into a bird and nuzzles my hand affectionately. Hoshi.
"Anata wa dokoni ita hoshi?" I ask her. She just looks up at me with her beady eyes. I scratch her head gently. Our meetings don't last long and i've noticed she gets nicer each time. But then she just wonders off again. And i have no idea where she goes.
But as i look at her now it's like she doesn't even recognize me. She tweets and i realize with shock that i don't understand her at all. I raise an eyebrow.
"Jōdandesu ka?" She just tilts her head confused. Like as if she doesn't understand me either.
"So we meet again..." A sensual voice says from somewhere off to my right. My head snaps over to the source of the voice, the first thing i noticed was a mess of curly red hair...
The pale woman smiles. "Why so shocked my yummy little snack?" I feel the blood flush from my cheeks and be replaced with ice. She's that vampire after bella.
I shudder a breath "you're vicky." I say with a bit of fear. She tilts her head and disappears. A breeze disturbs my neck hairs and i stiffen.
A giggle sounds in my ear "you like to play with birdies...so innocent." I quickly move away shoving hoshi in my shirt while i do so but by the time i turn around she's gone and a echo of laughter rings out around me.
My heart hammers in my chest images of our last encounter race through my mind. I have to get out of here...
I stand up with super speed but i'm quickly tackled back to the ground. With a sadistic smirk she pins me down "where you going so fast?"
"Get off me!" I scream glaring at her. "I'd rather die then be your food!"
" Why i'd never... I'm here for a different purpose." She leans down and licks my face and moans with her eyes closed. I just stare at her confused "you see i had so much fun last time i've decided you'd be useful to me. I've been looking for you for a long time. Catching your scent here and there. The usual."
"W-what are you talking about. Useful? Useful for what?" I say angrily. Not like i'm going to do what she wants.
"Let's just say i'm having a little get together for a certain mmm pet of a dear friend." Bella. I know she's talking about bella.
"Well whatever it is i'm gonna have to rain check. Sorry." I growl and bare my teeth at her and pull my hand free in a flash i grab her jacket and fling her to the side. I roll over and scramble to my feet and started running at high speed.
I hug hoshi close to my chest and was glad to feel a bit of movement. 'She's ok' i mentally sigh. I hear a hiss close behind me that overly sweet smell of ripe bananas and creme following.
My hair, which has grown so very long almost to the middle of my back was seized and with a yank and a yelp from me i go flying backwards.
My back hit a tree causing me to nearly bend backwards and wrap around it. And i would have if i were human. I sit there in pain and groaning.
"Ha i knew it! That throw would've broken the back of any human. I know you can run fast and you're hard to break. But there's blood-" she appeared and kneeled infront of me leaning forward and "-in your veins. Blood that smells delicious. You would make a good meal. I almost want to taste you... But you'd make a better soldier."
I gasp and shake my head at her. "No." I wheeze "i won't hurt anyone." I say and kick her away she grabs my shirt and rips a piece off as she flies.
I struggle to my feet i was only a bit winded so i was gonna turn tail and run but as soon as i take one step i hear a distressed squeak i look down only to see my chest. I spin around and see a tiny bird clutched in her hand that she held in the air.
I freeze my eyes wide. "Give her back." I whisper. Not making any move. I wouldn't make it fast enough...
"Her? What this?" She squeesed her and hoshi made a horrible screeching sound.
"Stop! Please don't hurt her!" I scream. I feel my eyes watering, how could i let this happen?
Vanessa laughs. "I ask you to do sonething for me and you refuse... And you expect me to have mercy on your little bird here." She examines her a twinkle of curiosity in her eyes "I've never seen anything like this. And i've lived many years. What is she a custom pet. Why i might just keep her..."
I breath looking back and forth between my hoshi and evil itself. "Please i- i-" i look away ashamed and took a peek at those beady bird eyes and saw the utter trust though recognition wasn't there to accompany it.
"-ill do whatever you ask..." I finish a tear tickles my cheek on the way down. She smiles a thoughtful look on her face.
"Hmm well ok. But first you'll need to be punished." I look at her. And she's smiling. A twinkle. That look in her eye. Evil.
I knew what she was thinking.
Even though i wasn't gonna make it to her, my longest most cherished friend, my feet thought fit to move on their own. No. Please i beg you.
I scream but i'm unsure if any sound came out. My hand enters my vision. Reaching out uselessly to grab at air. Why was she so far away?
Without a pause vanya wraps two fingers around hoshi's neck and twist.
Crack!
Mouth open and eyes wide i once again find myself frozen like time itself stop just so i could watch that red haired demon laugh as my friend dangled from her hand, hoshi's neck bent at an odd unnatural angle.
"Now, if you don't want this to be your next pet then-"
"You killed her." I said my hand still outstretched. "You killed her."
She scowled "yes and? Now for your first task-" my hand falls to my side my body feeling like dead weight. "Y-you killed my best friend."
She narrowed her eyes as i started my track again much MUCH slower this time. She hisses and tosses hoshi's little body aside. She crotches ready for anything.
It was like somebody somewhere hit play and next thing i know i'm tackling her to the ground. With unblinking eyes i growl. I growl so... Animalistic like i doubted it was me for a second by my mind refused to stray for long.
I roughly grab her neck and squeezed with almost all my strength cracks began forming up her jaw and cheek. With panicked eyes she back hands me and once again i'm sent flying.
I twist my body in the air and land on the ground sliding from the left over momentum. My feet and hands get buried a little in the dirty. I use it as leverage to launch myself at her again only to notice her trying to flee.
Oh no you don't.
I launch my body into hers and we end up toppling and rolling straight into a few trees, breaking them instantly. We end out with me on her again and i waste no time in clawing her pale cheek. In that split second i notice claws where my nails used to be as they send marbled flesh airborne.
It was her turn to growl as she grabs my shoulder and flips us so now she's on top she raises her hand her nails at the ready. She swipes down but i catch her hand and tear it off.
She wails and find herself backwards. I'm immediately on my feet, I've never moved this fast before. I look down at her and she scrambles backwards the same look of fear i had moments ago. Only hers was mixed with a deep anger. She grabs her hand and i kick her face making her lay back on the ground
I grab her and throw her into a boulder smashing it. She recovers quickly and with one look, A look i've received from aro, Like i was a precious thing. She runs so fast she'd be a blur to the animals witnessing us.
With a war cry i give chase.
Jacob's POV
"Woo!" This is great. I've never worked out so hard in my life. And i still have energy!
Akaiame sits there annoyance on her face. "And i'm guessing you wanna know what's next?" Shes asks me.
"Heck yeah! This beats patrolling all day." Us wolves have so much energy it's like we hardly need sleep. That's why it's so easy to go to bed late and wake up early and still be full of so much energy.
She sighs, then smiles...?
I stare at her in awe. I haven't seen her smile yet and not like that. Like she was with an old friend. "Why are you smiling?"
She looked at me up and down and when her eyes met mine the was a sense of familiarity in them. She then scowled. "Nothing... It's just you remind me of my first pupil." She said.
I was not only surprised but flattered. "Thank you." I trailed off unsure when her stern gaze snapped up to meet my eyes. I wasn't gonna back down though. " Uhm... What was he like?" I ask after a moment of silence.
"You are far to nosey boy. Anyway i have nothing else for you to do. After a couple of weeks of this everyday you'll be strong enough to learn how to hunt and learn about poisons." I nod but i couldn't help but be disappointed. Not about the training even though i know how to hunt in both human and wolf form, and my dad taught me how to live off the land if need be so i know how to build shelter and the does and don'ts of eating in the wild.
But i wanted to hear about Akaiame's first student. And why he reminded her of me. That look she gave me.
"But anyways if you complete your hunting training then i might tell you the story of Her." She said facing away from me. I smile and pump my fist with a 'yes'.
"Don't get your fucking hopes up boy. I said Might!" I nod with a serious face. I don't know if aidzuki heard it already but if he hasn't i know he loves stories.
I stand up and look around. He should've been returning by now yet i don't even smell him. Just an old trace.
"Don't worry about that pup. He's always slacking off during training. He just thinks i don't know it." She says crossing her arms. Though she was looking towards the treeline with suspicion. "You should wash up. You stink like a Bakujū bagu." She said and grabbed her staff, no one knows how she got it, and stood up. "Matter of fact go fetch him i think i'll take one first." She said limping inside.
But she didn't do anything but sit all day.
I don't care i was gonna find aidzuki anyway. I jog to the forest and began stripping. It'd be faster if i were in wolf form. Once i'm undressed i phase and add soon as i did the voice of the pack who'd been patrolling fill my head.
"Jacob?" Seth.
"About time." Paul.
" How was training lover boy?" Embry.
"Can we join?" Quill.
"Guys quiet. This is serious!" Jared.
"Fucking leeches." Leah.
"Jacob we are currently tracking the red head she was spotted by jared but we've lost sight since" and Sam.
My mind went into panic. Aidzuki!
"Yeah bring him to." Said Embry.
" He's not with me. Akaiame sent him on a run but he didn't return when he wad supposed to. I was going to look for him. He's out there i gotta find him!" I panicked. He just got better he can't fight her on his own.
My pack agreed. "You go on ahead Jacob. The cullens are looking on their land. Just keep your eyes peeled." Sam said.
"Roger that." I then started following aidzuki's scent which led me to a small pond. He was here. I sniffed around some more until...
I growl, so was she...
My pack hearing this head over to my location. I didn't wait though and continued to investigate the area. I was led to another patch of forest covered in both their scents, Heavily mingled. there was a struggle i could tell that much.
Just as my pack was arriving i get brought down closer to the treaty line by their scents and i enter a very destroyed meadow. I sniff around.
I pick up another familiar scent and i was very close to it. I keep searching as the scent grown stronger.
My nose bumps something small. I pull back and see a little bird. I cock my head as i examine it closer.
Dead. That's the first thing i notice. The second was...hoshi.
Hoshi. Was dead.
I HAVE to find aidzuki. now.
The pack shows up already caught up on everything. I was a bit uneasy and ticked off. I just grumbled.
"Ok guys we need to pin point aidzuki first. He's apart of this pack and we stick together." Sam announces through the link.
We stay close together but also very far apart just so we could just barely sense each other.
Crash!
I perk up and immediately go to the sounds cause. I hear inhuman growling and snarling.
And i smell aidzuki. And Victoria.
I burst through a little foliage and am met with such a sight. I couldn't belive it.
Victoria standing there staring her eyes fearful yet filled with unbridled want. I face the opposite side and i see aidzuki accept. Is that him.
He stood stiff and rigid clothes torn. His chest was exposed and little scratch marks adorned it. I trailed up to his face. And if i'd caused the look on it i'd be scared to. His eyes were wide and his pupils nothing but slits, the blue on his eyes seemed to have darkened and widened.
His nose was scrunched up but not in a cute way like when i poke but in a way that radiated his rage. His top lip was pulled back over his teeth his fangs bigger then i've ever seen them bared for all to see. And long sharp claws making it seem like he had long pointy fingers they were poised to strike.
"W-what the frick. Is that aidzuki" seth said sounding a little frightened.
"Yes." I answered.
"The red head!" Sam said drawing their attention back to her. Everyone got in position but just before they attacked she took off.
Not even a second after aidzuki howled. HOWLED. I can't do that in human form!
Something in me wanted to respond and i could tell the others felt that way to so...
We did.
