Aidzuki's POV

It was like a curtain of red fell over my face when howls answered mine. Though i don't know if it was real or all in my kill crazed mind.

I took off behind the red head. Intent on catching her and ending her where ever she stood. We soon entered a meadow full of bushes with purple berries and tall grass. A few deer are alerted by our presence and scurry to safety.

"Get. Back. Here." A unrecognizable voice growls. It sounded angry. Feral even.

Was that me?

I shake the thought out of my head. Who cares! I need to squeeze that bitch to dust. She dips left around a tree and as i follow her around the tree she's no where to be seen so i stop. Can vampires disappear?

All is still and quiet. To quiet. Not even an insect makes a sound. They've all probably cleared the area. My ears, which usually lays flat on my head pop up to swivel around trying to pick up any and all sound.

I sniff in every direction frantically. I can't let her get away. I nearly betray bella and everyone else. For my best friend, my sister, which she killed anyway. I only planned on going along with her until the moment i could get hoshi away from her no matter how far i'd have to go. It's hard to pick up a scent since both hers and mine are everywhere.

I hear a sudden yet soft scrapping sound above me and i look up and fearful red eyes look back down at me. With a snarl i climb up after her.

She makes to jump down but i catch herhair in my hand and slide down to a thick branch and slam her against the tree.

"You can run all you like. But no matter where you go i'll hunt you down until you're just ashes in the wind." I growl in her ear. I flex my claws in the air prepared to strike and crumble her flawless face. She quickly moves her head sideways so when i slash at her i miss and embed my nails deep into the tree.

She looks around desperately in what i think is a panic to escape. Before she could do anything i yanked her so that she dangled over the edge readying my hand for a another strike. She won't be able to dodge now. She grabs my arm and uses it as leverage to kick the branch effectively breaking it.

She probably knows i expect her to try and hit me so she went for the branch instead. I'd be impressed if i weren't so pissed off.

I don't let go of her red locks as we both fall. We land with a thud on the forest floor. She recover faster then i and uses her own claws to sever her hair. Of course she takes off again. Suberi yasui shōjo.

I once again set off behind her. I try my hardest to cover the wide space she managed to make between us but it doesn't matter for she vanishes over a hill.

As i near closer i realize it's not a hill but a cliff and water is at the bottom waiting for me. I can see ripples where she had jumped in.

I know it's not a good idea to follow her in, she has the advantage seeing as she doesn't breath and if she were to get a hold of me from the right angle she could drown me. And even if she couldn't i'd need to breath eventually.

An echo of the last sound hoshi ever made bounces between my ears the sound getting louder and more shrill as it continues. Suddenly i don't care what the outcome might be. Revenge.

I need revenge.

I ran towards the edge ready to take on the risk and kill Victoria or die trying bit just before i jump arms wrap around me and pull me backwards.

"Are you crazy!" A voice says. I elbow them causing them to grunt and i nearly get free but i'm then tackled and held to the ground.

"Get off me!" I snarl. "I'm gonna kill that fucking monster! Get off me!" I began thrashing to get free. I could feel my tail wipping against the rock of the cliff and against whoever was trying to stop me.

"Aidzuki she's gone. It's dangerous to go after those things in the water" the voice says calmly. They firmly push me back down. I growl and tried to swipe at them not giving up on struggling to get free.

"I don't care! Get the hell off." That sound... Couldn't possibly be coming from me.

Right? It sounded so... Vicious.

Angry.

My adrenaline slowly recedes when the person doesn't let go and it becomes apparent that struggling was fruitless. I feel my limbs get heavy as my anger starts to get replaced with fatigue and with it, grief. Images of hoshi dying playing over and over. It only makes the feeling of defeat grow instead of fueling my rage.

"No i won't. You gotta calm down. We will get her some other time. You're injured!" The person says. Am i? I didn't notice.

My vision clears a bit and i recognize the features of Jacob black. He's looking at me with worried eyes that mirror the sadness in my own. I feel the rest of the fight in me dissolve at seeing four thin scratches on his face.

"Jacob? Jake she... She killed h-hoshi. She-" i couldn't bring myself to say it again. I whine and go limp as the rest of the red seeps out of my vision. "I couldn't protect her. I tried. I almost did something terrible. I..."

I began to struggle weakly "i have to go after her." My eyes cloud once again but with tears this time. "S-sh-she k-ki-" i burt into tears before i could finish. I go limp once more. Pathetic.

I turn my face away feeling weak and ashamed that i let her get away and all i can do is cry about it. Especially while i'm being pinned under my mate.

"Hey. It's ok. I'm here now ok. I know. I- i saw her... I saw hoshi." Jacob climbs off me and pulls me against him. "You did good love. But i won't let her have you to." He squeezes me. I started full on sobbing after that. I bury my nose into Jacobs neck to smell his scent and calm my nerves.

"I'm sorry. I shoulda come to find you sooner." Jacob said. I shake my head. It's not his fault. It was mine. If only i hadn't decided to slack off. We sit there for a while my sobs the only things heard besides the waves crashing against the rock.

I calm down enough to stop crying. I sit up and wipe my face off. "Aidzuki i know you're still hurting. But we need to get back and patch you up." He raises his hand to show me blood thats obviously mine. "You should tell the pack what happened. Their all worried about you. We followed you but we lost you when you chased her after falling from the tree." I just nod numbly.

He grabs my hand and squeezes it in a way i find comforting. Jacob leads me back through the forest no doubt back to his house i need to change and get 'patched up' though i'll be healed before the sun goes down but i will for jacobs sake. He's probably shaken to see me in this condition. I was also a bit confused cause i thought the pack would be at sam's place. That seems to be their main hangout.

I was supposed to go back to the Cullen's place i realize, guess today had other plans. Really really horrible plans. I'll still go to get away from here with jake. After i bury hoshi. Speaking of...

"I can't leave her out there..." I said stopping as the thought hit me. Hoshi was still laying there on the cold ground. Alone. Guilt washes over me as i once again fail to do right by her. Jacob looks back at me with patient understanding eyes.

"I know. I had her wrapped up, she's with leah." Jacob said "she's safe". He assures me. I nod "thanks" I downcast my gaze and go quiet relaxing so jacob could resume walking. I then notice the piece of cloth missing from his shorts. Did he use his own clothes to wrap jer up?

"If you don't wanna talk about what happened we can always wait. I don't want to force you to talk about it if you're not ready. It's only been minutes." Jacob said after a long pause.

"It's fine." I said monotonously.jacobs house comes into view between the trees and he stops me before we go farher.

"You know if you feel uncomfortable telling them yourself then you can tell me and i'll tell them. Ok?" I simply nod. Jacob patiently stands there waiting for me to decide what i want to do. Still holding my hand using his thumb to massage over my knuckles.

"I will tell you. I don't really think i could tell it without breaking down infront of them. And i need you to come with me across the border so the cullens know that victoria is around here." I said already a bit teary. I couldn't let any of them see me like this it was kinda embarrassing. Jacob uses his other hand to pull me closer to him, my head lands on his chest and i melt into him. My eyes flutter at the warmth.

I start telling him the events that led us to where we were all the way from me sitting beside a small stream to me noticing hoshi might not have remembered me. I told him so i could get them off my chest cause their not necessarily things that are detrimental to the story. Then i told him how i basically lost my mind with anger.

Jacob stood there quietly waiting for me to finish rubbing up in down my back while his nose was buried in my hair. My ears flicked every time he exhaled and warm air tickled them. I could fall asleep right now.

As i guessed i was upset after repeating what happened today though i didn't end up as hysterical as i had before. Thank kami, i'm exhausted. Silent tears fall down my cheeks and soak jakes chest, i'm sure he doesn't mind.

After i calm down jacob holds me at arms length. "I'll tell them. You go ahead and clean your wounds and get changed. Akaiame's inside so she might help. call the cullens and tell them we'll be headed up that way. Then just wait for me here. Rest." I nod.

He turns to take off but then turns back to me. Faster then i could blink he placed a kiss on my cheek. I give a small hesitant smile feeling a little bashful. Then he takes off.

I walk to the house slowly feeling a little tired. Once i'm inside i gather all the necessary things i need and head to the bathroom.

I immediately noticed the wetness on the mirror like someone had already bathed in here. I put my stuff down on the toilet and turned on some hot water.

My clothes were unrecognizable, i didn't need ro lift my shirt over my head. I just shrugged a shoulder and my shirt joined my torn pants to pool around my feet.

Where had my shoes gone?

I stepped in front of the mirror and saw the scratches across my chest. They were already thinner and caked with blood. I touch then gently and my eye twitches at the sting.

I shake my head and get into the shower sighing under the hot spray. I close my eyes and lean my head back. I needed this.

My initial plan was to get in and out but after washing the grim from my body i find myself filling the tub with water and sitting in it. I pull my knees up to my chest and rest my head on them. I let myself get mesmerized by the ripples my movements cause.

I let todays events slip away as i lean back feeling my eyelids grow heavy. I don't remember falling asleep.

But i did.

Jacobs pov

I just left Sam's house and well it could have gone better. As soon as i walk in the house the whole pack plus Emily crowded me asking if my mate was ok. For a moment i was touched that they were really worried about him. I eased their worries and told him he's back home. Wanting to get back to him as soon as possible i ask them to let me explain what happened.

Their reaction wasn't that bad but after hearing how aidzuki was willing to betray us for a pet they kinda got upset. But all i had to do is explain what exactly hoshi meant to him they calmed down. And the fact that he wouldn't have really betrayed us just do what's necessary to protect hoshi.

I went on to say that losing hoshi is like losing a member of his pack. A very close member. They understood that even better. We wouldn't want to lose anyone we considered a pack mate. They were still a little hurt though.

I let them know that aidzuki was going home today and I'll be going with him but i'll come back to patrol everyday until i came home. I wasn't planning on staying in that bats nest long anyway.

I told them i should be going cause aidzuki might need my assistance. That teacher of his didn't seem the comforting type. On my way out emily handed me two containers full of food. I thanked her while she hugged me and then i made my exit.

Impatient to get back i jogged all the way to my front door. It was very quiet when i entered the house so i close the door gently so i don't disturb anyone. My dad was sleep on the couch the tv on some random channel.

I use my nose to locate Ai and find that he's still in the bathroom. I knock on the door.

No answer.

I don't get worried cause i can hear him in there and don't smell blood. I knock again and still no answer. "Ai are ok?" No answer again.

"If you don't answer i'll come in..." When all i hear is quietness i open the door and turn my head sideways as to not see anything i shouldn't. I didn't hear so much as a shuffle.

I could see him sitting in the tub curled up. I decided to look since his private was covered. He was sleeping peacefully.

I put the containers on the sink and kneeled by the side of the tub. His black hair was damp and sticking to his face. I reach out and slick it to the side. He shudders in his sleep and shifts a bit but then he settles down once more. His pale skin was flushed pink do to the water temperature it just made his lips more prominent i purse my own yearning to kiss him again. He looked relaxed and serene with his dark feather-like eyelashes laid softly against his porcelain cheeks.

I've never met anyone more beautiful. And that's even beford i imprinted on him.

I almost didn't want to wake him up. Didn't want his face to go from relaxed to tense. But he needs to eat and we need to go, it was getting dark outside which would be more hassle then it's worth.

With my mind made up i gently shake ai's shoulder as if he were something fragile. Though he is far from fragile if what i seen today was any indication.

"Ai it's time to wake up angel..." I cringe when i sat angel my nostalgic haze of seeing him in such a simple state had me in the clouds. Wish i could crawl in and go to sleep with him.

He begins to stir awake and i find myself looking away as he stretches still half asleep.

I hear a gasp "j-jacob w-what are you do-oing." I could hear the blush in his voice.

I smiled. "It's ok i didn't see anything." Not true i seen a very beautiful sight. "I came in to check on you. I was worried when you didn't answer the door."He nodded and i heard the water jostle.

"Towel please." He asks in a tiny voice. When i reach for where i seen the towel he let the water out and stands up.

I hand him his towel. "I brought some food from emily. The pack was concerned about you."

Aidzuki's pov

They were concerned about me? I'm... Surprised.

Wrapping my towel around my waist i look at Jacob curiously. "Really?"

"Really. It was like they were waiting just to hear about you. They hadn't even touched their food. That's what got me. They kinda lost us in the forest. I was so focused on catching up with you that i didn't even notice they weren't around anymore."

I should go and let them know i'm ok. I'd feel bad if i didn't reassure them. "I wanna see them first. Before we go." I step out the tub and sit on the toilet.

Jacob nods "Ok. But lets call the cullens and at least tell them that red headed leach showed up."

"Good idea." I said shortly. "I want them to be there when i bury hoshi."

"Don't you want the cullens there?" Jacob says like it was something he wouldn't like but would do anyways.

I shake my head "No." I said simply. I start getting dressed. For some reason i just wanted to be surrounded by the pack when i bury hoshi.

"I'm finished. You could look now." I grab the containers and walk out of the bathroom and in to the kitchen. Jacob follows but goes in the living room instead then sits by the phone. More like flops.

Billy had gone to his room, i guessed. He was no longer in the same place i'd seen him when i walked in.

The food was still comfortably warm so i just grabbed two forks and went to the couch and sat next to jacob who was already on the phone waiting for someone to pick up.

"Hello." It was alice.

Jacob shuddered at her cheery tone. I elbowed him in the side and he flinched "hey." He said tightly.

"..." She waited for Jacob to talk.

"Right! So i was hoping to speak to the doc about heading that way." He said.

"I'll ask him. Is aidzuki there?" She said her voice becoming excited. He handed the phone to me all the while grinding his teeth together at having his request ignored and pushed aside. I gladly take the phone. Their cold conversation was getting annoying.

I just wish they'd try and know each other.

"Hey Alice. Can you please tell everyone that i have to tell them something." I said.

"Yes they're all here. They can probably hear you already." She says.

"I...ran into victoria." There was silence. "What happened? I-i had a vision earlier. I saw you... Holding a dead bird. But then it goes black." She says concerned i hear movement in the backgrounds.

"We can talk about it more when we get there. Is everyone ok with jacob coming over?" I ask.

I heard yeses for the most part but there was some annoyed sighs. "Jacob can come over." Carlisle said.

"Arigatou Carlisle. I'll see you guys when i get there. Bye." I said eating a spoonful of food.

"Bye!" Alice chirped and hung up.

Jacob makes another call to Sam's house. He explains my plan to bury hoshi with them.

"Yeah. Ok we'll be there." Jacob sighs. "Yes i'll be able to do my shift."

He hangs up the phone and picks up his empty container. "I mind as well take these back to emily. Are you done?"

I nod after putting the last scoop of rice in my mouth. I hand Jacob the container.

"Let's do this." I said standing up trying to mentally prepare myself to bury my friend.
