It seemed that once Morgan was able to get her feelings sorted, mostly her entirely separate feelings about Philip and Booker respectively, she was able to get shit done.

Mostly she was working on final projects as the end of the school year rapidly approached. And on one of the last Saturdays before graduation, she decided to tackle something else on her to-do list.

"Hey, love?" Morgan asked as Seth got ready for their own day.

"Yes, dearest?"

Seth was going to Juniper and Barb's dance class, looking dashing in their ballet outfit. Morgan could barely stop herself from asking Seth to lift her up Dirty Dancing style. She knew Seth was strong enough to do it, they'd been strong before and had gotten even stronger since (and maybe because of) the mutation.

"Do we still have an ungodly amount of tea from the incident?"

Seth was stricken by the memory of themself causing a scene at the grocery store. Nowadays they knocked stuff off of shelves all the time because of their wings, but back then they'd only had themself to blame.

"Yeah, we still have a fuck-ton of tea, why?"

"Well, if today goes well I think I'm going to start drinking it again."

Seth's eyes widened, "Really?"

"Things are changing. Even the stars move."

"What?" Seth was a little lost.

"I don't want to be stuck in one place anymore. I'm going to the cafe today, to have lunch with Hiro, and then I'm going to help Hiro with his diploma acceptance speech."

"And you're sure you want to?"

Morgan nodded, "Grief is not my enemy."

"You're so poetic today," Seth said, taking Morgan into their arms.

Morgan was dressed down for lunch at the cafe, wearing a cozy, oversized SFIT hoodie, black jeans, and a constellation hair clip.

"Well, a lot has been on my mind."

They'd decided as a couple to wait a bit to ask Booker out, since a lot was on the horizon.

"I'm sorry if I added to that," Seth started.

"No, it's okay. You make my life easier, not harder, I promise. I'll see you later, okay? Have fun at dance class."

"I will. Have a nice time with Hiro!"

"I love you," Morgan added before she forgot.

"I love you too. Forever and always."

With that promise of forever, Morgan left for the cafe.

Tadashi had also promised forever, and even though he wasn't with her physically, Morgan felt like he'd kept that promise well. Every time she looked at the stars she felt his presence. Every time she saw the good work Big Hero 6 was doing or spent time with Hiro, she knew that his legacy was secure.

Hiro was feeling less secure. After he and Morgan had worked out a plan to meet today it had occurred to him that he would be seeing a lot less of her in the near future, when she had graduated and their paths were no longer crossing at SFIT. And when he'd had that thought he had a similar thought about all of his friends.

He was relieved when a distraction came into the cafe.

"Hey, wanna hang out today? I'm working on a new story," Megan said, coming up beside Hiro and reaching out to pet Mochi.

"Oh, yeah, sure. But I have a friend coming over later."

"A hero friend?" Megan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, that's a complicated question, Megan. But not really. Morgan used to date my brother so she's kinda like my big sister. She's coming to have lunch and help me with my acceptance speech."

"Oh, that's cool. I can get out of your hair, if you want."

"No," Hiro said quickly, thinking about how after all his friends graduated Megan might be the only friend that he had in the city. He definitely didn't want to push her away.

"I mean, you don't have to. I'm sure Morgan would enjoy meeting you."

"Thanks, Hiro. But if you want me to leave when you guys start talking about personal stuff I will."

"I'll keep that in mind, thank you."

"I was going to go to High Voltage's dance class today, like I did last week."

"Why didn't you?"

"Dad didn't want me to flirt with a former criminal."

Hiro made a face.

"Juniper? Really?"

"She's cute and funny! I've been chatting with her online, 'cause dad can't stop that."

"Whatever floats your goat."

Megan laughed, "What about you, lover boy? Have you talked to Karmi recently?"

Hiro blushed and squeaked, looking relieved when Morgan entered the cafe.

"Ooh, what are we talking about?" Morgan asked, easily sliding into the conversation. It had gotten so much easier to talk to Hiro since they'd agreed they were family and that nothing could change that.

"Hiro has a crush on Karmi."

"Oh, she's nice, you should go for it," Morgan encouraged.

"She doesn't even live here anymore," Hiro pointed out.

"People have long-distance girlfriends all the time," Megan said.

"Like you and your online girlfriend?" Hiro shot back.

Now it was Megan's turn to look flustered, "June and I aren't dating yet."

"Come on, you already have a nickname for her?"

"I really like her okay? I just don't know if she's into girls. So let's put the romance talk on the back burner." Megan stuck out her hand. "I'm Megan, Hiro's friend. He said I could hang out with you guys as long as you're okay with it."

Well, that threw a wrench in Morgan's plan to embrace grief and grow from today, but there was still plenty of time for that.

"The more the merrier. I'm Morgan. I'm really glad to see that Hiro has a friend his own age," Morgan said with a laugh.

"Other than Karmi," Megan joked.

Hiro sent her a withering glare.

"Let's get lunch," he suggested, to change the subject.

Morgan remembered the last time she'd sat across from Hiro and attempted to drink tea. It hadn't been her most recent visit to the cafe because she came here all the time these days, but it had been the first visit since Tadashi had died, outside of the memorial.

When their tea arrived she poured herself a cup and picked it up with no timidity. She wasn't afraid like she'd been last time. She had nothing to hide from Hiro this time, nothing important anyway.

Except- oh.

"Hey, Hiro? Before you start practicing your speech there's something you might want to know."

Hiro's stomach flipped and he nodded meekly to urge her on. He was predicting that Morgan would say she and Seth had gotten jobs out of town and were moving, that after graduation Hiro would never see either of them again.

He was not predicting what came next.

"I know it was awkward for you when I started dating Seth, and you know that I wasn't trying to replace Tadashi, that I could never replace Tadashi. But I did want you to know-"

Hiro interrupted now, "Did you and Seth break up?"

"What? No, never. We're just thinking about asking our roommate Booker if he'd want to be in a polyamorous relationship with us."

Hiro's stomach settled but now his head was beginning to spin.

Megan pretended to be extra focused on her sandwich since this conversation seemed deeply personal.

"Why are you telling me that?"

"I don't want to hide things from you or lie to you anymore." Except about the undead Obake and the fact that Seth was working for him, but that seemed like a minute detail. Obake wasn't even that evil anymore.

"Oh. Thank you. Well, I mean… If that's what you and Seth want to do, I'm happy for you."

Morgan almost said that she thought Tadashi would really like Booker, but she stopped herself. Hiro might not want to hear stuff like that right now, and he was allowed to go at his own pace just like she was going at her own pace, finally drinking tea again after months and months without.

"Thank you, Hiro. I'm really glad I get to be a part of your life."

"So you're not going anywhere?" Hiro blurted.

"What?" Morgan was caught off-guard by the question.

"After college… You guys aren't gonna leave, are you?"

"I could never leave San Fransokyo," Morgan promised. "I mean, I'm gonna go to Vegas for like a week to see my sister graduate, but that's it."

"You have a sister?" That much was a surprise to Hiro. Even more than the poly thing.

"I never told you? I know I told Tadashi… Must've forgot. I have a half-sister, Holly. She'll be coming up to watch my graduation along with her boyfriend, I'd love for you to meet them. Honestly, we should have a get-together with the whole gang." Morgan didn't mention her dad because she very much didn't want Hiro or any of their friends meeting Philip Lynch. He was still on thin ice.

"Yeah, that would be fun. I've been kind of nervous about everyone going off and doing their own thing when they graduate," Hiro admitted.

"Well, no matter what happens or how far anyone goes, your friends will always be there for you," Morgan promised.

Megan echoed the sentiment, and the three of them gently clinked their cups together before taking another sip of tea.

Morgan stayed with Hiro and Megan for the rest of the afternoon, talking and listening as Hiro prepared for his big speech. It got emotional a couple of times, but they were able to get through it without too many tears. Morgan knew the day of the actual speech there wouldn't be a dry eye in all of San Fransokyo.

Right before Morgan left, the conversation turned back to crushes and the trio ended up making a light-hearted little pact, at Megan's suggestion.

"Right now we all have someone we like who we haven't confessed to. So let's all agree to confess before the next time we're all together and whoever doesn't has to buy snacks for everyone."

"Deal," Morgan said since she and Seth had been planning on confessing to Booker soonish anyway.

"Deal," Hiro said reluctantly, his face growing warm as he thought about Karmi.

"Good luck," Morgan said to the other two.

"We've got this," Megan decided.

Hiro wasn't so sure, but the worst-case scenario was he would end up buying snacks for Morgan and Megan, and the best-case scenario was he would tell Karmi and she would like him back.

Morgan had a lot to think about as she headed home but mostly she was just excited to go home. She'd meant what she said when she said she had no intention of leaving San Fransokyo, this was her home and the people waiting for her when she got back to the house were the people she loved, the people she'd chosen. That sunk in even more when she got back to them and they had a chance to chat about their day.

Booker and Seth were cooking when Morgan got home. Maya sat up in her high chair, playing with magnets.

"Hey, babes," Morgan said, kissing Seth on the cheek and just barely stopping herself from doing the same to Booker.

"Hi, Princess," Morgan said, reaching out and tickling Maya, who shrieked in delight.

"Sup, Sugar," Booker said, still focused intently on the soup he was stirring.

"How were things with Hiro?" Seth asked.

"Good. I met his friend Megan- oh that reminds me, how was dance class?"

"It was really good, but how on earth did that remind you of my ballet class? Is Megan another hero?"

"Nah, I think I'd know, but she does have a crush on that High Voltage girl."

"Juniper?"

"Yeah, Juniper."

Booker chuckled, "Criminals are irresistible."

"Yeah," Morgan agreed, "Kei is pretty hot."

"Don't talk about my mom like that," Seth laughed.

"I was talking about Bob," Booker joked.

"Don't talk about my dad like that," Seth said.

"No, no, he has a point," Morgan agreed, barely holding in laughter. Maya didn't know what they were laughing at but she giggled too.

"I'm serious. You don't hear me talking about how suave and attractive Philip Lynch is."

Morgan pretended to gag, "Yeah, because he's not."

"Is that your dad?" Booker asked with an understanding tone.

With all they'd talked about, Morgan sometimes forgot there were things that she hadn't told Booker.

"Yeah. He's… He's a lot. He's whatever. I told you about Holly, right?"

"Right. I've always wanted siblings."

"No you don't," Seth mumbled, thinking about how they had to babysit Simon tomorrow to keep him away from Sadie's proposal.

"Wish I could tell you what it was like but I only see her like, three times a year. And I see dear old Philip even less than that."

"Well, my dad doesn't talk to me at all. Not that it's a competition but, yeah, I get it. It sucks but like…" Booker left his soup and lifted Maya from her high chair, "What matters is what we do with the family that sticks around, right? I've got to be a better dad than my old man was the way you've got to be there for Hiro when you can't be there for your sister."

"Huh. I never thought about it like that, but I guess you're right. I love Holly and my mom and I'm willing to give Philip another chance, but family is about the people you choose. And I already know I've chosen you guys."

Seth wrapped their arms and wings around Morgan.

"We choose you, too."

Morgan looked around at the four of them and wondered if life could get any better than this. She really didn't need it to.

Question of the Week- Who do you think will confess first, Hiro, Megan, or Morgan?
