It was quite a windy day; perfect for kids to fly kites. Unfortunately, there were no kites yet. The only way to obtain them is through hunting dangerous enemies which makes you wonder why do they have them. Was not the case today, luckily. No hunting large purple worms that lives in the desert... gee that experience was terrifying...
Anyway, I had quite some time to myself. After all, i dont think the whole city was explored yet. However... I have to wait for Omni. Honestly, he is kind of a jerk, not to mention... never mind. I better watch my tongue. Anyway, it was quite windy and I had to rearrange my hair a few times because of it. I have bee waiting for a long time now... but to be fair, I was early to the appointed time. So I had only myself to blame there
There you are, a familiar voice said behind me. I turned around and saw Omni standing behind me. Well, get going would ya? You wont be staying here for too long. I looked at him with a questioned look. He merely shrugged. I looked at him and sighed. Then there was an awkward, still silence for a few minutes.
Yknow, I said something about not having not much them right? Get moving then. He said. Think of it as a date or something.
I could sense the joke in the sentence, but I could not help blushing and about to lash out at that remark. But as if he already knew what, he looked back with stern eyes that would silence anyone despite the smile. The thought vanished and Omni relaxed before turning around and signalling for me to hurry. Unable to get rid of the blush, I looked down and sped up.
If you keep that blush, then people will actually think we are... Omni whispered before I loudly whispering back
I know, keep quiet about it can you? My frustration was unbearable at this point. Shaking my head to rid o the thoughts, I looked around in the sea of townsfolk we were in. Nicking a few gold coins here and there, maybe a few platinum coins. I smiled inside. its their fault for bringing so much cash in the first place. The most expensive item I stole was a diamond ring. My eyes sparkled as soon as I claimed it as my own.
At the other side of the tunnel of people was a less populated part of the city. It was obvious about the liveliness of the city. This place is like a a ghost town! Omni was also there, looking around the streets. I brisked walked towards him as he turned to me, and i showed him my rightfully stolen goods. He nodded and pointed towards a direction. We walked until a building entrance was a dead end. Omni swung the doors open and the place was not what I expected.
"Take your pick," He said as we sat down by the bar table. The bartender was wiping glass cups on the other side of the table and was looking over. He lightly slamed down a menu. There was... surprisingly little on the menu. Slightly disappointed, I chose something simple. However, I felt Omni's eyes sorta pressured me. Reluctantly, I chose something more expensive. I glanced at him to see his soft gaze. Seemingly looking lost, I elbowed him. He shook his head and merely pointed back.
The door to the bar busts open as a few people step in. Upon closer look, they were goblins. Odd, I thought they would never get alongside humanity. Anyway, they seem to be ruffians.
"Why did it have to be us?" I miserably thought as the group approached behind the two of us. I looked around, attempting to ignore them, but truthfully, I was trying to see what they were trying to do. Seems like we were their next target. However, before they could even get close to us, the group suddenly screamed in shock. Patrons including myself looked at the source and saw the doors swinging as if someone just used it. Omni snapped his fingers, took what we order and said something about getting out.
We stepped out of the bar, the group of goblins were in one neat pile by the side, groaning in pain. The sky was a beautiful orange-yellow ray, coupled with grey, blue and a dark sky. The sun was setting. In a blink of an eye, the two of us found ourselves under a tree on a hill in the city outskirts. Omni merely sat down under the tree, with my food beside me. As I consumed dinner, we somehow started a series of conversations...
"Hey, uh, you are kinda silent nowadays, is there anything wrong?"
"Nothing. Just several million rhetorical questions."
"...What?"
"Yeah, don't worry about it."
"So, yknow you know all about me from the very start, but you never really introduced yourself properly."
"Well, you should have concluded by now,"
"Let's see uhm... silent, exotic clothing, kind of a dick? Mysterious..."
"Huh, I get that a lot."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I thought I told you. I'm a traveller,"
"So like,"
"No no no... I travel through universes, different realities, timeline jumps, etc."
"Ohhh, sooo... those notes you have,"
"These? They can be considered notes I guess. They are more of research notes. For things that I do outside universes."
"Hold on, I don't-"
"You... don't need to know. I only have one question for you."
"Shoot."
"Do you know who He is?"
"Huh... what kind of a-"
"Just answer the question."
"See... a dickhead... no. Never heard of whoever this guy is."
Omni nodded his head.
"Nothing."
"What?"
"What?"
"Sigh... so if you are a traveller, then what happened to your home?"
His face darkened, even under the dim moonlight.
"... ruined. Don't know what happened to it."
"Then how old are you?"
"I...I... do not... know. Its been too long, I never bothered to keep count. Besides, I do not even know the exact time of my existence."
"You don't have any family?"
"Other than a friend whom I've lost for God knows how long, no."
"Harsh-"
"Has death ever lasted an impression on you?"
"I mean, of course! I can die and then get revived, don't remind me of that traumatic experience."
"Haahaa... must be nice to feel..."
"So what power do you like... possess as an omnipotent?" I asked as I threw the empty wrapper down the hill, chewing on the last of the food. Suddenly, I hear something. It felt like multiple voices, my head spun, it felt like a hallucination.
"The fate of every universe and timeline at his fingertips, what chances do you stand?"
I hit my head hard against the tree.
"Ow..." mumbling as I rubbed the back of my head. But suddenly, the pain ebbed away quicker. It felt more refreshing.
"What you heard, I'd say some sort of... lingering phantom. I can't really explain it well, but it tends to boast or warn about my power. See how you deem fit."
"You mean, without doing anything, you can wipe this world's existence?"
He nodded
"I do not fear the power I have, for I can control it. It just... there's no thrill. Not even a tinge of pride when multiple powerful entities call me out with panic in their voices."
"Are they..."
"No, there are powerful yes, but I'd still kill them easily. Also, yes. I have seen to much sorrow, I have too much time, enough to solve regrets. Even negativity eludes me."
"Oh... then what do you do as like, hobby maybe?"
"I do have a company, but, I have my own agenda with them."
"OK... how 'bout fighting?"
"I have mastered practically everything. As for weapon of choice-" A large dark scythe appeared right beside him. It seemed to be up to his neck level. And heavy as well.
"Appeared to me one day. I know what it's made out of, but, it's best if I keep it to myself." He said, getting softer. I tried lifting it, but couldn't hold it for long.
"Well, moon's overhead us, we should head back."
"Unless you show me some fancy tricks with that blade," I said with a smirked. It looked like he sagged before spinning the scythe with one hand in a way that should not be possible. I looked at his style, before my eyes started to close. The last thing I saw was him brisk walking towards me as he boosted himself with the tip of the weapon and it fading away...
Does anyone even read these?
