Dudley Dursley is now entering his third year of Hogwarts. Set in a world where Voldemort killed the Potters and was eventually defeated by Dumbledore, Dudley is a wizard. His journey will follow the same steps as Harry's but with different events and different outcomes. This year, Dudley faces challenges from outside Hogwarts as Voldemort's right-hand man is on the loose.

50. Chapter 50 - Author's Note

First of all, thanks to everybody for reading and for commenting. I reallt appreciate and love reading feedback from people. If you enjoyed the story, please comment and let me know, and if you can share it, that would be amazing.

I have started on Book 4- I write during the slow hours at work, so have a lot of time, so the stories should be uploaded quite quickly!

Look for some major changes ahead, thanks to the ending of Book 3.

I felt that too many people have been positively impacted by Dudley—Ron being more confident, Arthur getting a promotion, Hagrid being a competent teacher etc, so I felt it was time that some people were impacted negatively.

I planned for Sirius to get the kiss from the start, the question was how. I went through a number of scenarios including Lockhart obliviating Dudley & friends and giving Black to the Dementors to claim the credit for his arrest, Dudley deciding to give Black to the Dementors on his own, Black sacrificing himself to the Dementors to save Dudley etc.

In the end, I decided on this route since it seemed the most interesting to me and the most shocking. Plus I felt having Pettigrew stay with Ron gives some opportunities for him to cause mischief.

Book 4 is going to quite different. I think it'll be interesting to see some perspective from Voldemort, so I will do some occasional interludes featuring him conspiring with Lucius and perhaps an interlude or two catching up with Lockhart.
