The very moment we got back from the extremely hot underworld was to lay down on my bed. It was exhausting, and even though it was still broad daylight, the darkness in the underworld seemed to have drastically changed my internal body clock. So I just threw my bag to the floor and jumped onto the bed.
"How responsible..." a voice said from above as Omni floated down
"Shut up, just lemme sleep..." I muttered back.
"Just, wake up early, or later this evening." Omni replied back before leaving and closing the door.

It was as if something was calling me. Slowly, I rose and rubbed my eyes, yet blocking the glaring evening was something ominous that was just floating before it split and flew away. As I got up, I realised it was not just something calling out to me. In fact, there was nothing calling out for me. Instead, there was a lot of noise beyond the entrance of the hill house. After a quick shower and change of clothes, I hurried out into what I expected to be an open forest. However, I found an unexpected surprise...
A town!. The last time I saw this plot of land was Omnis foundation for multiple buildings. Now, theres a literal town, bustling, active... needless to say, I was dumbfounded. The town entrance was a few metres away, hence I brisk walked towards the entrance, excited to see whats in store for me. Omni was standing by the entrance waiting and looking at my direction. I hurried towards him, eager to explore the town that suddenly rose and got lively overnight.
Hey, youre finally awake,Omni commented. As you can clearly see, I have finished the main aspect of the foundation.
Wait, main aspect? I asked.
Well, yeah, I plan on expanding the town, but have no plans so far since it would require a lot of procedures. He explained. He handed me a small yet heavy pouch.go wild,
Halting at the town square, I looked at all directions. It was just how I remembered it: the noise of gossip, bargaining and advertising, people window shopping, and sometimes the strong scent of certain goods. I excitedly ran towards a street to check out what was in stock. However, the excitement was short lived as one of the townsfolk screamed that there was a large army of goblins coming our way. Worse, another townsfolk from another side shouted that there were multiple flying Dutchmens coming this way, meaning pirates are gonna invade us.. I looked back to see the commotion about the pirate invasion and saw the look of concern on Omnis face. Knowing that Im the one that is currently willing to push off the invaders, I reluctantly went to the eastern gate to fend off the invasion.
A minute in and nothing. The ground was certainly shaking, acknowledging the platoon of mobs coming to ravage our newly constructed town, yet they still looked like they were miles away from us. As the silhouette got closer, my heart pounded harder as the anticipation of the fight grows closer. Before I know it, I was a one-man army tearing through the goblin army. The enjoyment of slaying puny goblins fuelled my adrenaline as I fought harder, but due to their sheer numbers, I was easily swarmed and many of the enemies bypassed me without bating an eye. Even worse, there was a goblin that stood out, clearly stronger than the rest of the goblins. Before I could ready the rest of the beenades I was prepared from the Wall of Flesh fight, the female goblin let out a painful attack out of shadows. As I retreated in pain, I looked at the impact site of the attack. Seems like my skin has some sort of first degree burn, and still stings. Nevertheless, I continued warding off the goblins attack.
Summoning your clones wont help you this time... I muttered as I inaccurately threw my weapons. The goblin only laughed off that comment before summoning back the clones it used to distract me as if in mockery of my words. Alas, after what felt to be an eternity, the goblin lay slain with a blueish flaming knife. I picked the weapon and realised that it was empty here. Seems like the the rest have gone through me while I was distracted by the goblin summoner. I cursed and ran back into the town.
The town was in pure chaos. it was like someone took the phrase paint the town red literally, with debris everywhere and few dead townsfolk. What was odd though was that it seemed to be a three sided war. The pirates were actually fighting the goblins and vice versa, while I would defend the town they are pillaging. Taking that into consideration, I solved most fights by defeating both pirates and goblins. One by one, they fell, and the longer I fought, I realised that the shadowflame knife seemed to come back to me mysteriously, allowing me to re-throw it and inflict damage upon the enemies. However, it seemed like fighting was pointless, as the armies never seem to stop. Moreover, at every nook and cranny, there were either sea dogs or green pricks scratching away at walls.
I jogged back to the middle of town, where bloodshed stained the streets, yet no enemies in sight. Omni stood in the middle, looking down the southern street. There was a fight between a goblin warrior, a pirate corsair and an innocent townsfolk. I was about to dash in and help when Omni raised his hand, signalling me to not bother.
Lets take a break, shall we? Omni said as everything started to slow down; from the three-sided fight in front of us to the falling of leaves from trees. At first, I thought it was just me getting tired. Yet, as things slowed down, the colours for everything also slowly became void, to the point where everything was monotone and unmoving. I felt weak and collapsed to my knees. Suddenly, an odd feeling of guilt, confusion and exhaustion overcame me. As if it was mocking me, a gentle breeze came by, although refreshing. But it only brought in clearer questions to be answered. What am I doing? Why am I doing this? I dont want to do this anymore. Hot tears welled up as I stared at the blurry colourless concrete. Everything went by so quickly... so much has happened in what felt in a short span of time. Omni sighed and reached out to me.
Cmon, its not the end of the world. Ill help you out, he said. Trembling, I took his hand and got up. The grey scenery shattered and so did all the enemies in town. I sighed and put on a fake smile while the townsfolk made a victory cheer from the three sided war. Remembering what I was going to do, I strolled back to the northern district while everyone started to flow into the streets again.
After exploring the newly built town, I slowly walked back to the hillside base. Omni was standing on top of the hill, looking out towards the golden, blinding sunset. I climbed up the hill and sat down under a nearby tree. There was a gentle breeze swaying the branches and causing the green fresh leaves to fall. In front of the sunset was the town, with a larger unfinished foundation outlining the city. It was not only a beautiful sight, but it also got me thinking on what to expect once the town is fully completed. Just then, I saw the same lights when I got up. I looked at Omni to see if he acknowledges it, to which he replied,
The ancient spirits of light and darkness have been released.Omni continued looking out to the rapidly darkening sky. You should go get rest.
I woke up the next morning, freshened up a little before heading into town for a little stroll. However, before I could head out, Omni called out to me, pointing at a bag on the table. I took the bag in confusion and stepped out the hillside house, overlooking the town. Deciding to open the bag later, I walked towards the crowded morning streets. While in the streets, it reminded me of what happened before I found myself in this world. I shook off the feeling of nostalgia and continued to eavesdrop on the latest fad and news around town.
By the time I reached the west city gates, I pieced together the gossip around town. Apparently there seems to be new odd biomes when the Wall of Flrsh was defeated. The perfect thing to satisfy my want to explore and loot. The way to one of the new lands was in the west, hence I headed that way with haste. On the way there, the bag kept vibrating. At first I tried to ignored it however the vibration just would not stop. Slightly annoyed, I took off the bag, revealing it's contents.
The first thing that caught my attention was the vibration source. It was sleek, shiny with a purple or blue screen with complex calculations on them. It seems that this thing was receiving text messages.
"Hey, seems like you've left the city gates."
"Why have you not check the contents of the bag yet?"
"Anyways, I'm gonna leave you be. I know your plans, be extra careful. I've prepped some stuff for ya."
"P.S: I took your mirror for this lol"
My mind went blank before jolt of realisation hit me. It's a cellphone! Those things are expensive as hell, and he gave me one like this? To make sure I do not get carried away, I vowed to look through the contents of the cellphone later. I dug further into the bag and found a glavie. Seems usable as a weapon, so I kept it on hand in case anything attacked me unguarded.
After disposing the bag, I continued heading straight. As I walked, memories rose from the back of my mind. How long has it been since I have gone exploring like this. I smiled to myself and finally set my view on a high ground. Climbing the small hill quick, I found an amazing sight to behold on the other side.
The grass was like a light blue colour with trees of different colours. A permanent rainbow was stuck to the sky and the atmosphere just felt like magic. Seeing a familiar cave, walked towards the entrance while admiring the scenery. However, the small trip turned into an unexpected bloodbath as hordes of unicorns and pixies appeared out of nowhere and assaulted me. Using the newfound weapon I got, I slowly took them out till nothing but bloody limbs and fading light and dust were left.
"Well, there goes my clean clothing..." I muttered as I kept the glavie and walked forward. Upon reaching the entrance, a shiver was sent down my spine once again, as I recalled memories of this familiar cave entrances. Holding up a torch, it lit up the pink-blue stone walls. I touched the walls and left my hand as a trail, descending the cave. The uneven stone was smooth and cooling... until I felt a fleshy rock. I looked over and took it out. It was crimstone. Realisation struck me as I finally figured out what happened. This was the Hallowed, the supposedly opposing mysterious force against the world evil. The very same evils that are connected to me. I could feel my heartbeat properly now. My cold sweat made the surroundings more warmer as I anticipated what horrors awaited me. The horde of Hallowed mobs were unnatural, were especially hostile to me. I looked back and saw the entrance as a bright dot now. There was no turning back.
Once I fell into the now large and bright coloured cave every crimson entrance led to, I stared in awe at the walls surrounding me. Crystals bunched up together, dimly lighting up the cave, pearlescent stone giving a clear reflection in the dark cave and of course... illuminated enemies.
Obviously, the risk of getting a painful death would be high, especially when they know themselves I'm a part of a force they oppose. The worst is that they seem to be aggressive; savagely searching for something which I definitely do have a hunch on. Hence, I opted for stealth and tried to sneak pass them.
As careful as I was, every few seconds, I felt like I've got their attention, but luckily for me, I have gone far enough not to attract attention from any enemies now, and suddenly, a flash of pink light appeared right beside me. I turned towards the flash instantly and saw a humanoid shaped mass running towards me. It had the same colour as the illuminated enemies I saw earlier and before I could react, it hit me, and hard. I screamed in pain before retreating backwards away from whatever that thing was. The same flash appeared right beside me again and I whipped out the glavie and threw at it before it died in a puff. Panting, I rubbed the throbbing area, attempting to soothe the pain. However, the relief was short lived as the surrounding area was getting dimly lit up with the pink-blue lights. Cursing under my breath, I quickly took a couple of blocks and sealed off the approaching enemies. I could hear their bloodlust, banging against the artificially made wall. It feels as if the entire underground Hallowed knew where I was.
Getting away from them was not easy. They were quick and powerful, but as long as I block them off, it'd be fine. But the annoying thing is that those humanoid illuminations could swiftly teleport to me and have the potential to murder me. As those things persisted in their assault, the more unmotivated I become in exploring the underground Hallowed. I'm pretty sure a large swarm was coming towards me, but my bolder side wanted to see how long I could last against them. Who knows? Maybe it could pay off.
Worst mistake so far. I only managed to puff a few off, however the swarm took over their dead comrades' places. As much as I wanted to return with loot, I was on the verge of no escape, then it caught my eye. An odd looking rod that blended in with the darkness. Without thinking, I charged in with my cellphone and my thumb on the home button. The crowd of humanoid hostiles closed in and I panicked and pressed the home button. I could feel part of myself in a familiar somewhere, so I ran faster, pushing the enemies away and touched the rod, while taking a few hits.
"Welcome back," Omni said with a smile as I found myself sitting on my bed.
"Ugh, it hurts everywhere..." I said I felt the pain go throughout my entire being.
"How was the underground Hallowed?" He asked, almost in a mocking tone.
"...Fuck you, and them." I replied back with a small smile.
After some time of getting myself comfortable, I laid on the couch in the living room while Omni was at his usual spot by the fireplace. I was prepared to stay awake the whole night on my cellphone with a bunch of snacks Omni prepared beforehand. The moment nighttime hit, Omni looked up as I something caught his attention. I looked over for a split second before returning my attention to the cellphone. However, the air was for some reason getting colder. It was chilly for an ordinary, windless and rain-less night. Although easily overlooked, I felt vibrations from deep below. Nothing was affected, but the vibrations were distinct. I was breaking into a cold sweat, heart beats could be felt and getting faster. As I took a deep breath to calm myself, I thought:
This is going to be a terrible night...
Took so long just to complete this, there were so many interruptions. Due to next year's events, I doubt many chapters can be pumped out
