Dawn after a goodnights sleep and having done some things on her own time was heading to Ash's house. Dressed in nothing to fancy but a light pink skirt, a black top and some boots she took a compound mirror from her backpack that held her Umbreon outfit just in case even if her fellow teammates said she would not need it.
"Is my hair ok?"
"No need to worry. You look perfect." The spirit in her earring taking the family motto it all would be fine. Umbreon seeing it a couple of hundred times before was always amused at how nervous her hosts became whenever a boy or girl they liked took them on a first date compared to the stakes during fights.
"You've been to his house before. Why the nerves?"
"It's a start of something I didn't think could happen."
"Did you expect you'd get to meet your great many times aunt? You've seen enough to know by now anything can happen. Good and bad."
Dawn glad with the company during her walk did fear Umbreon would disturb them from time to time. Not leaving her at home or stashed in a small box Dawn wanted to keep access to her powers at all times and not waste time putting the earring in again.
"You're going to keep this up all night?"
"Got to say a few things before I leave you kids alone. Who knows how long you'll be occupied with the other and sucking each others face."
"Would you stop!?" Dawn scolding her ancestor that she wasn't that bad. A few pecks here and there didn't deserve her this treatment. It was normal for couples that just started to do things like it.
"I've seen much worse then you two. I was there when you and some of your ancestors were conceived. "
"TOO MUCH INFORMATION!"
Arriving at the porch of Ash's house she rang the bell. The door opened up quick and her boyfriend stood there dressed in a black shirt with a yellow stripe across it and some jeans.
"Hi Dawn." Happy to see her she looked she ran about a dozen marathons. A tomato was nothing compared to her.
"Are you ok?"
"Just my aunt telling stories I did not want to hear." Pointing to her earring not going to tell Ash the embarrassing story Umbreon did on her way here the spirit jumped in.
"Just treat me like I'm asleep. I'll be more quiet than Dawn sneaking around."
Keeping her end of the bargain to not interfere in what they were going to do and be a silent watcher Dawn's sense of smell was tingling. A spicy aroma hung in the house that now escaped through the front door.
"That smells amazing." She thought they'd order something but Ash apparently had already gotten it. He shook his head.
"I was going to order for us both but mom insisted she'd make it instead."
"Your moms cooking is to die for. I'm not complaining." Delia's cooking thanks to her job in a restaurant knew her way with pots and pans. And it kept her skills sharp due to the lack of customers recently cause of the early closing of her workplace thanks to the curfew. Dawn went inside the and took off her boots. Placing them next to Ash and his mom shoes he took her to the couch.
"Can I get you anything?"
"Something to drink."
He went into the kitchen and got a glass of soda for her. Ash sat down next to her wanting to start their hangout night off.
"So how did your visit to Kenny go? Did you tell about this?"
"He seemed to be doing ok. No injuries and he did ask me to come to Barry's party later. And I managed to make him accept you as my prom date. We just need some time apart for now cause it's awkward for both of us."
"Glad that's out of the way."
"So what's the plan?" Dawn changing the subject to a bit more fun. This was their first evening together as an item eager to see fun it will bring.
"I'm helping mom finish dinner, we eat, I'm doing the dishes with mom and then maybe some other stuff if you're up for it? Maybe a movie?"
"Sounds great." Dawn just glad to be here close to him. After all the work they did she figured they deserve an evening like this.
"Dinner is served!"
Ash came in carrying a huge board with six plates of different foods. It saved him return trips carrying it al at once using his aura as he set the dishes on the table. They ate Delia tried to be quiet but couldn't help comment how much her boy was such a gentlemen. After a quite fun meal which the three are up for repeating only next time at Dawn's house with Johanna too Dawn decided to go to Ash's room as he helped his mom clean up.
Going into his room it wasn't dirty so either he or his mom kept it clean. With Ash downstairs she took her chance and opened up his closet. All his clothes neatly folded and arranged Dawn knew he did it to tease her but the picture he showed her wasn't just the result of just one good day.
"He wasn't joking. He can keep it in order."
She looked closer trying to find something. Lifting up clothes and setting them down again Dawn kept it orderly but she kept digging. His closet not getting the result she wanted she looked under his bed.
"What are you doing?" Even if Umbreon promised to stay silent her host was acting weird.
"I'm trying to find the suit he claims he's got. AH HA!"
Feeling victorious she pulled the box from under his bed. With black marker written on the side was written Halloween costumes 4. Curious she lifted the lid off it and saw what was inside it. Seeing clothes of different colors they weren't exactly costumes as regular clothes. Taking a hold of a black jacket Dawn took it out and put it on. A little to big for her the jacket hung open and she checked herself out as she posed in front of it.
"Black really seems to be my color."
"It runs in the family."
"Looking good."
Hearing Ash's voice she turned round.
"Taken up modelling like your mom has?" Smiling as he stepped into his room Dawn blushing at being caught.
"What is this? Never seen you wear any of this."
"It's a box with disguises for if I ever needed to go undercover with Riley inside a bar or something. Never had to use it but you can never be too sure."
The reason why it was in line with what he had his suit for. Dawn learning a lot from her spirit Umbreon never started about disguises training cause the skills she passed onto her host of sneaking in pretending to be another wasn't that important.
"It says 4. So where are the other 3?"
"Got a box at Riley's for when I stay over and need fresh clothes, the other two are in the house."
"Ok then, surprise me." She picked up the box and gave it to him. Dawn did feel a little playful herself as this was a great opportunity to get Ash dressed up.
"Show me one of your characters then. It sounds more fun then just watching a movie." Dawn sat down on his bed covering her eyes with her hands.
"No peeking Deedee."
"Done." Dawn uncovered her eyes and held back a laugh. Ash was dressed in yellow sunglasses and a green fedora with a Hawaiian shirt with buttons untied showing his torso that had starfish and bright coral colors on it. Swimming trunks in the same motive as the shirt he wore a pair of black sandals.
"You look like a tourist."
"You are right. I am Kem Waki." Speaking with an incredibly thick accent Dawn began to chuckle. Even when he can be a different person while being Greninja he has a few more personalities hidden it seems.
"I'm from the Sevii islands to see the Veilstone Meteors and other sights on holiday."
"Ok then Kem. I'm Dawn nice to meet you." Playing along cause he was to far into it she just looked at him. 'Kem' nodded and looked over her liking what he saw.
"Say. If you have time maybe you can show me around town. And then a date. You can be my summer fling in the spring."
"You sound like a nice guy Kem but I already have a boyfriend. He wouldn't like it if I went with you."
"What's his name?"
"You should know him." Kem came closer to the bed and leaned over Dawn. Staring right in her face with a confident smirk
"He can't be as handsome as I am. I'm quite the ladies man on my island."
He suddenly grabbed Dawn's shoulders and pushed her down the bed. Dawn ln her back he put hid hands next to her head and hovered over her.
"And nobody says no to me." Sounding a lot more demanding and perverted Dawn was convinced on his character but still went along enjoying the moment.
"I'm warning you. I know how to fight back."
"Sure you do. A pretty face like yours probably does." Dripping with sarcasm over her threat Dawn laughed having too much fun finally breaking character.
"Ok. You win. My boyfriends name is Ash."
"Sounds like a good guy."
He leaned in and kissed her. Dawn returning it they separated after as he got off her helping her sit again. Ash in the mood wanted to continue.
"For my next role I need that jacket."
She forgot she still wore it. Wanting to take it off Ash smiled as he stopped her.
"Just kidding. You can keep it if you want too." Surprised she asked.
"Sure?"
"You gave me my costume. It's a piece I can miss and it looks good on you. Keep it." Dawn much more into clothes then he is she can make more use out of it. Plus her wearing a gift of his was a symbol of sort of their hidden romance without anyone knowing.
Dawn got off the bed and held Ash's wrists. Twirling him around he fell down on it as Dawn suddenly looked angry at him.
"Did I do something wrong?" Ash worried she started to talk in a weird voice.
"Look at you. Stupid tourist think they can come here dressed up like grandmothers wallpaper. When you come on my turf you gotta dress like it."
"Turf?" Confused about the act she was portraying Dawn pushed on more aggressively.
"That's right squirt, the jacket should have given it away. I'm Dusk. I'm the head of my very own biker gang named the fashion police. We look out for crimes against fashion while driving around this city hair flowing in the wind on our choppers and make sure others like you don't look like clowns. Now shut up and let me dress you o you don't look like a slob."
From the other side of the door Delia listened in. Them playing dress up and role playing it was to her like they're back in kindergarten. Finding it funny that two guardians of the city were so playful with the other outside of work. Ash made the right choice in a girl full of life as Dawn and being a fantastic way of taking his mind of dangerous things to relax like a normal person.
Going back down as they were occupied Delia turned on the TV. Ash and Dawn eventually came out of his room back in their normal clothes. Seems playtime was over and her son's girlfriend was ready to head home.
"Night Ash."
"Night Dawn."
Kissing each other goodbye on the porch Dawn went away in her new jacket. Delia smiling recognizing it from his collection Ash closed the door turning round to see his mom.
"You're supposed to walk her home."
"Dawn's tough. And she can move across town without anyone knowing."
"I suppose you're going to see her again tomorrow?" With how well they got along and were affectionate the urge must be just as strong as they were.
"Not in the way you think. I'm going to Dawn's house to draw up a few combinations with that we can use like that woman and the big red guy I fought." Their next date work related even if they were taking a break from physical stuff to let their bodies heal they were going to use their time to be productive in the future.
"Or act out a few new characters like biker girl Dusk."
Realizing she spied on them his face turned just as red as his girlfriend at the start of the evening.
"Mom!" Embarrassed she got to hear it they do this in Heaven next time away from noisy parents. Delia reminded him about an important thing. No matter how tough, strong, heroic and carried a weight of a whole city on his shoulders he is and always will be her little boy.
Bit of fluff before the blood, sweat and tears are going to be spoiled.
See you around.
