The Storm and the Mysterious Eevee!
Lightning crackled in the sky, lighting the night sky as several figures stood atop a hill with one figure wearing a lab coat holding up a scanner in his hand.
"Hm... just as I thought, the legendary Pokemon Zapdos is coming while on it's way to recharge."
"You sure Zager? A sudden freak thunder storm could be one of many Legendary beasts including one that your group ran into while in the Unova region years ago!" Another figure spoke up, looking to be in charge of things despite the significant age difference as the man looked to be in his early twenties! His outfit consisted of the usual black and red color scheme but it was a different design than most Rocket uniform, the upper half of his outfit consisted of a black hooded jacket with the usual red R on the front of it with white gloves covering up his hands. In place of the usual boots most Rocket members wore his footwear strangely appeared to be a pair of sneakers. A pair of glasses were positioned in front of his red eyes, his black hair practically blending into the night had it not been for the red highlights present.
"Of course I'm sure, Arlo. You think that I the great Zager would be foolish enough to not register the energy levels the Kami Trio give off?!" Zager's face shot red as he grew impatient. "I am fairly certain that it is Zapdos so send out your men and go get it! The three legendary birds are crucial to capturing one of our primary targets so we can't botch this as it will take quite a great amount of time to relocate it or a different Zapdos, timing is everything!"
Arlo rolled his eyes before placing his hands into his pockets as a sly smirk crossed his face. "Oh don't you worry, I'll be handling this one by myself! There won't be any failure here and watch your tongue Zager, you may be thrice my age but I am still your superior!"
Zager growled at him but held his tongue as Arlo hopped onto the back of a Metagross before promptly flying off on it.
"Zapdos!" The legendary bird Pokemon cried out as he flew above the city, the thunder growing louder and shaking the ground. The rumbling happening to knock Ash right out of bed with him soon shooting wide awake as his head bonked against the floor.
"Ow!" Ash groaned out, rubbing the back of his head as he stood up before taking a look out the nearby window and happening to spot the Electric Legendary Pokemon flying across the Vermilion City skyline as the lightning lit the sky once more! Ash's eyes lit up with excitement upon spotting the legendary, quickly rushing over to Pikachu who still laid fast asleep upon his pillow. "Pikachu, hey Pikachu!" He hissed out, surprisingly him falling out of bed hadn't disturbed neither Zach or Marnie. Professor Cerise had been kind enough to invite them to stay the night at his place but only had the one guest room, thankfully there were enough beds. Zach slept on a singular bed while Ash and Marnie slept on a bunk bed with Marnie thankfully being the one on the top, otherwise Ash would have been in a lot of pain!
"Pika...?" Pikachu slowly opened his eyes before letting out a faint yawn, his eyes glanced towards the window before giving his best friend an odd look as it looked like it was still midnight out there.
"I'm sorry buddy but Zapdos is out there, if we're quick enough we could challenge it to a Pokemon battle!" Ash hissed out, his fists pumped as his body visibly shook from excitement. Pikachu stretched out before standing on his four paws, flicking his tail in response as he leaped onto Ash's shoulder. Ash didn't bother to waste time getting dressed, rushing on out in the t-shirt and shorts that he'd been wearing for the night as he took only Pikachu with him, he didn't want to take the chance that Zapdos would get away and one was all he really needed as he wanted to make it a fair fight. Just him against Zapdos!
"Zapdos!" Zapdos cried out once more as a stray bolt of lightning came crashing down upon Team Rocket's secret lab and creating a power surge, Eevee's constraints broke off and the Normal type slowly stood up before taking a quick glance around and making a mad dash for the stairs, rushing on out of the basement before jumping out of the window left open in the kitchen that a lowly grunt must have left open. Eevee landed on the muddy ground outside, a look of disgust forming across her face as her paws became coated in mud but she wasted no time and quickly resumed running!
"Zap!"
"Come on Pikachu, we're gaining on it!" Ash and Pikachu raced up a hill at the edge of Vermilion City, Zapdos was right on top of them as he started flying over the hill. "Hey Zapdos, hold up! Pikachu and I would like to challenge you to a battle!"
"Zap?!" Zapdos turned it's head back as it flew, wondering who was challenging him and perhaps trying to see if it was just some trick to capture him. Zapdos' eyes landed on Ash and upon noticing him the bird slowed down, remaining in place in the air as he looked Ash over once more before landing on the ground, stretching out his wings as he leaned back his head and let out a fierce battle cry!
"Wait a minute... you recognize me, don't you?" Ash narrowed his eyes as he read Zapdos' expression, the Zapdos seemed to show signs of recognition and perhaps respect? But which Zapdos it was is the question though as he'd met quite a few! That didn't matter too much though as Ash soon pointed at Zapdos with a large smirk upon his face. "So you accept our challenge? Pikachu and I aim to be the best of the best and the only way we can prove that is by seeking out the strongest Pokemon and trainers across the world and that includes you!"
Zapdos smirked upon hearing Ash's speech, stretching out his wings as he released another cry with lightning and thunder following after it. The legendary took a stance, towering over Ash and Pikachu while waiting for them to begin.
"Pikachu let's start off with a Quick Attack!"
"Pi pi!" Pikachu quickly zigzagged across the clearing, ramming his body up against Zapdos' leg and pushing as much weight as possible into the attack! Zapdos was pushed back a few inches before his beak began spinning like a drill as he gave Pikachu a harsh pecking!
Ash clenched his fists in anticipation as Pikachu took the attack, the Electric type shook out his fur before letting out a light cry as his cheeks sparked upon laying eyes on the legendary and refusing to back down!
"Volt Tackle!" Ash shouted while enthusiastically punching the air in front of him!
"Pika pika pika PIKA!" Pikachu's body became encased in an electric glow as he raced across the field, electricity sparking off his body as he slammed his body against Zapdos! The legendary bird Pokemon let out a grunt, shaking itself as it's wings started fluttering. Zapdos took to the skies as his body began glowing white with a silver energy ball forming in front of him before being unleashed upon his opponent!
"Ancient Power, Quick Attack out of there!"
"Pi!" Pikachu zigzagged away, making it hard for Zapdos to aim but not completely impossible! The blast hit the ground just close enough to Pikachu that he was hit by the blast! The electric mouse was sent flying through the air before collapsing onto his side, Ash clenched his fists once more as he thought it was over for a second only for Pikachu to quickly hop back onto his feet despite his body looking bruised. It was still raining on account of Zapdos' presence so an idea quickly formed within Ash's head, soon thrusting out his arms once before but not before removing his Z-Power Ring and putting it on.
Ash threw his hat to Pikachu who caught it by leaping up, the hat landing perfectly on his head as the two began moving in synch.
"Alright Pikachu, 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he leaped up into the air and began absorbing the electricity from the thunder clouds around Zapdos, the bird Pokemon tilted his head out of curiosity before widening his eyes as Pikachu unleashed several different waves of electricity, each one a different color of the rainbow and proceeded to fire them at the opponent! The electricity flowed through Zapdos with the legendary bird Pokemon letting out a pained groan as his body started leaning forward, wings going limp as he came crashing down to the ground with a loud thud! Swirls present within the bird's eyes as the thunderstorm started letting up briefly.
"Alright Pikachu, we did it!" Pikachu raced towards his trainer and leaped up into his arms, the two embracing in celebration of their victory which didn't last long as Ash noticed a rather sinister black and purple colored Pokeball flying at Zapdos before striking the defeated legendary and absorbing it in a beam of sinister purple lighting! The ball landed upon the ground and Ash's heart stopped briefly as the ball started shaking.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt, NOW!" He ordered, having a really bad feeling about this. Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he leaped away from Ash and unleashed a blast of electricity only for an Aggron to quickly leap in his way, taking the hit as Ash heard the familiar chime signifying a capture while a strange figure came into view and snatched the ball right up!
"Ash Ketchum, I had a feeling that our paths would cross eventually but not like this." Arlo's eyes looked Ash up and down as a light smirk formed on his face. "Packing light today? And where are your friends? Tsk tsk, I've heard you've given some good friends of mine a very hard time. Including my boss, I'm quite curious to see what all the fuss is about so I'd be quite delighted if you'd indulge me in a Pokemon battle!"
"You're Team Rocket, aren't you?" Ash growled out as Aggron stomped his feet and uttered out a terrifying roar. "Release Zapdos right now!"
"Pika pi!" Pikachu snarled out.
"Much as I'd love to that would severely mess up important plans, I didn't become the youngest Executive since the Boss for nothing!" Arlo laughed, tossing the Rocket Ball up and down while pulling up the sleeve of his jacket to reveal a Rocket Band. Ash stepped back with a light growl, knowing that this would be quite tough given that Pikachu had already taken a beating from Zapdos along with not getting a proper good night's sleep! Heck he was pretty worn out himself but he wasn't going to let this punk get away with Zapdos, who knew what sick scheme Team Rocket had in store for it!
"Aggron, let's show Ketchum here the true might of Team Rocket, Mega Evolve!" Arlo touched the crystal on his Rocket Band causing Aggron to become encased in a bright pink light which soon faded to reveal the form of Mega Aggron!
"Alright Pikachu, Volt T-"
"Tsk tsk, Earthquake!" Aggron stomped it's foot hard against the ground, causing it to shake violently and much to Ash's surprise the ground beneath him and Pikachu began sliding as the muddy ground beneath them started sliding on down the hill and taking them with it as they lost their balance. Arlo adjusted his glasses as he walked towards the edge of the hill. "If you'd been paying attention you'd have noticed you were mere inches away from the hill's slope, the muddy ground made it quite easy to dispose of you! I could end you right here and now, it'd be easy with me having a full deck of cards and you only having a worn out rat but that wouldn't be much fun!" Ash and Pikachu were at the bottom of the long hill, looking up from the mud pit they'd fallen into and quickly trying to rush up only to fall right back down from how slippery it was! "Tata for now!" Arlo waved before turning around, returning Aggron as he tossed the Rocket Ball up and down.
"You did good today Arlo," Giovanni spoke as he held the Rocket Ball within his grasp. "Such power contained within this ball..."
"Project XD001 is slowly making progress, we just need to find Dr. Yung and capture the other two legendary birds!" Zager shouted with a sinister smirk. "We already know where a Lugia is rumored to be located, Fula City in the Johto region. We'll get men working on a proper confirmation but once we've got the other two, we'll have quite the unstoppable monster are our hands!" Zager laughed out. "Lugia won't stand a chance against it and then we'll capture it and corrupt it!"
"And then with both monstrosities I'll capture what is rightfully mine again..." Giovanni looked at his hand, clutching a torn up picture of Mewtwo as rage flared in his eyes.
"Nothing will stand in our way after that!" Arlo grinned. Several other people sat at the table with them; Archer, and next to him a stunningly beautiful brunette woman with bright purple eyes, a black robed ninja stood silently next to her with a mask masking any facial features save for his emotionless stare, what appeared to be an former Team Aqua member of some sort as his shirtless chest had the tattoo covered up with a red R one, standing next to him was a young girl wearing a black hooded jacket with purple hair showing beneath of it. Former Team Galactic members Mars and Saturn stood beside them wearing executive uniforms, an older woman possibly in her late fifties stood next to them while dressed up like a cowgirl and wearing the same ridiculously huge hat Leroy and Cletus had, and at the far end stood Xerosic not looking too much different but he did have a sidekick as there was a feminine figure wearing a body suit standing right next to him with a helmet concealing her identity. All of the important members of Team Rocket save for two were gathered in one place, ecstatic looks across their faces as they cried out in celebration!
There was one who looked unsure though, Domino stood next to Giovanni with a concerned look as her eyes saw what he had planned for the legendary birds.
"Domino and Sasuke, you handle Articuno." The ninja silently bowed while Domino nodded her head in silent agreement, not daring to speak up else she end up like Matori.
"Sierra, Moltres is yours!"
"On it!" The stunning brunette nodded her head.
"And I've got a master of disguise taking up a position within Fula city as we speak, if Lugia's there then we'll find it! You've got a mission people, don't let me down!" Giovanni ordered. "The rest of you are to continue operating in your regions as you see fit. Just work at capturing me legendary and mythical Pokemon so our army can become even bigger!"
"Nonono!" Petrel was rushing desperately around his headquarters as the meeting took place elsewhere. "You've gotta be here somewhere, you've got to be!"
"Cletus did you leave the window open again? It's freezing in here!"
"Wasn' me, bro. It was you."
Petrel's eye twitched as he rushed into the kitchen and saw the two idiot cowboys staring at the open window.
"You idiots!" He raged, shaking his fist in a threatening manner. "If something's happened to that Eevee I'll have your hides!" He only took them in in the first place as he thought they were too stupid to betray him but turns out their stupidity had costed him his secret weapon and the boss apparently had a legendary now! How was he going to destroy him now?!
"We're sorry boss!"
"Yeah, it was all Cletus' fault! I'll go find that there Eevee for you!"
"Nuh uh cause I'll find him first!" Cletus shouted, the two locked eyes before Petrel pulled them away.
"Silence you blubbering buffoons, you have until the end of the day to get that Eevee or I'll make sure you never work in Kanto again!"
"Yessir!" The two saluted, quickly rushing for the door before crashing right into it.
"The door didn't push!"
"Ya gotta pull ya dummy!" Leroy bonked his brother on the head before pulling the door open, the two rushing off as Petrel stroked his forehead before staring out the window. "I desperately need a backup plan..."
"I can't believe it, we failed..." Ash finally arrived home hours later, he'd searched everywhere in a desperate fit to find Zapdos and Arlo. He even rushed back to summon Charizard and search from the skies but to no avail, the Team Rocket admin had gotten away and Ash couldn't help but blame himself for weakening Zapdos and making it easy bait. Not to mention his leaving behind the rest of his team in his eagerness to fight Zapdos. Ash took a quick stop in the shower before returning to and collapsing in bed, falling asleep almost instantly as his body finally caught up to him.
The door to Professor Cerise's place had accidentally been left open slightly upon Ash's return, the young trainer had been too worn out and tired from the events of earlier that he hadn't even realized it, allowing for a Pokemon to come walking on in and leaving muddy paw prints everywhere as she walked about. She sniffed at the air before waltzing right into the kitchen as her stomach rumbled loudly, the Normal type leaped up onto the counter and began hungrily digging into a bowl of trail mix that was left there.
Yamper's ear twitched as he laid at the foot of Chloe's bed, his eyes soon shooting open as he leaped from the bed and made a rush for the kitchen.
"Yamp yamp!" Eevee jumped up and quickly shot around as Yamper looked up from the floor below, barking and growling at Eevee.
"Eevee!" Eevee greeted with a smile but Yamper didn't take too kindly on the wild Pokemon intruding upon his home, the corgi's fur started to spark up as he shot off a light wave of electricity at Eevee, shocking her!
"Veee!" Eevee cried out in pain, her eyes burned brightly as she uttered out an angry cry, her fur began igniting in a bright flame while Yamper's eyes widened as he let out a faint yelp while Eevee leapt off the counter and tackled him. Scorch marks forming across the floor as the two began wrestling and growling at one another.
"Ugh Yamper, what's going on?" Chloe sleepily walked into the room, rubbing her hands across her eyes. "It's five in the morning..."
"Eevee!" Eevee broke out of Yamper's grasp and proceeded to tackle Chloe, resulting in the girl letting out a scream as Eevee pinned her down with his muddy paws. "Eevee!" Eevee happily nuzzled itself against her as it tried thanking her for the food.
"Scor!" A ball of electricity was kicked across the room as Scorbunny showed herself, the ball flew right at Eevee and gave the Normal type a jolt of electricity.
"Eevee!" Eevee cried out in pain before leaping right off of Chloe and making a dash for where it had entered the building, Yamper let out a yip as he gave chase and rushed after her.
"Chloe you okay? I heard screaming." Zach rushed into the room and took note of the pawprints, it was definitely a Pokemon of some sort. The shape looked quite familiar but he didn't bother trying to place it right then as he was more concerned for Chloe.
"I-I'm fine, it just startled me is all!" The girl took his hand as he helped her off the ground, a look of disgust formed across her face as the moonlight shined directly on her sleepwear and showcasing all of the mud and dirt present due to Eevee. "Ugh look at me, I'm a mess!"
"Nonsense compared to how I looked after the chocolate incident in Motostoke you look perfectly fine!" Zach assured her with a smile while Riolu was busy following the mud tracks left by Eevee, the jackal soon rushing back to his trainer as he pointed at the door and letting them know that it was wide open! "...Yamper escaped again?" Zach let out a light sigh before turning back to Chloe. "Don't worry, I'll track him down for you."
"N-No, I'm coming with you!" Chloe spoke up as she clutched her fists. If she was serious about potentially becoming a trainer then she needed to be brave and search for Yamper, sure it was dark and spooky out there and Team Rocket grunts were around but Yamper was her closest friend and she couldn't just leave him! Besides even if they stumbled across Team Rocket she did have Zach as some form of defense.
"Really? Well okay but you should go get changed first, I'll wait here for you." Zach watched her disappear down the hall before walking over to pick up Scorbunny who was hungrily gorging herself with the trail mix that Yamper and Eevee had knocked to the floor. "You really have a fast metabolism don't you?"
Scorbunny smirked up at her trainer as Chloe soon returned in her usual attire, her hair still very much undone however. A smile formed across her face as she gave Zach a light wave before gesturing towards the door. "Come on, let's go!" She didn't want to waste too much time as when Yamper had his eyes set on something he lost track of his senses, meaning that Yamper could potentially chase Eevee for miles before losing it and deciding to go home!
On the Vermilion beach laid a Piplup who had just spent the past week trying to prove himself to his herd by swimming all the way across the ocean, a task that he had managed to pull off but had completely worn himself out doing. He laid there with his eyes closed shut, snoring heavily as he laid on his back. His rest didn't last long though as Eevee and Yamper soon came running along, each one stepping on his stomach as they ran right across him!
"Piplup!" Piplup's eyes widened from pain as the penguin shot wide awake, his head quickly turned towards the Eevee and Yamper as he began shaking his fist angrily. "Pip Piplup!"
"Eevee!" Eevee turned her head as a joyful smile formed across her face, mistaking Piplup's shout for one of playfulness. Her fur lightly sparked as she tackled Piplup, Piplup soon let out a loud cry as his body was given a powerful jolt of shock! His beak soon glowed brightly as he began pecking at Eevee, Eevee let out a cry of pain as her eyes turned red with rage once more while her fur ignited a bright red color! Piplup waved his arms and legs frantically as he broke free and made a dash for the water, leaping on in before waving his fin angrily at Eevee.
"Yamp yamp!" Yamper barked at Eevee, growling at her. Eevee looked back at Yamper before flashing him a joyful smile, tackling him with her electrical tackle before rushing on off! "Yamp yamp!" Yamper continued giving chase, Eevee's attack just encouraged him to continue his pursuit!
"My feet hurt, Leroy!" Cletus whined as he and his brother walked through the city as the sun started to rise above the horizon. "We've been walking for miles and haven't seen hide nor hair of that pest!"
"Well we won't find it with you complaining!" Leroy shouted. "Now shut your mouth before you wake the whole damn town! That Eevee is a powerful experiment created by Petrel, now imagine if we were to hand that creature over to our ma."
"But he said-"
"It doesn't matter if we're banished from Kanto if we're accepted back into the ranks of our family!" Leroy smirked. "Just imagine the look on our mama's face when we give her the strongest Eevee the world will ever know!"
"That is sure to make up for losing that shiny Haxorus!"
"Talk about loud mouths," Zach muttered as he and Chloe stood in a nearby alley, Zach having pulled her into it as soon as he heard the two coming in the opposite direction.
"T-That Eevee is an experiment?!" Chloe looked startled, that Eevee had been in her very home! Heck it was literally touching her at one point!
"That's what attacked you and Yamper? I thought the pawprints looked familiar," Zach shook his head before looking to the sky as Corvisquire returned, the bird landed on his arm and stretched it out before uttering out a cry. "Did you find Yamper?"
"Corvi!" He pointed with his wing towards the southern point of the city.
"Awesome!" Zach reached into his pocket and gave Corvisquire a cracker, the raven happily eating it before taking off into the skies once more to lead the way. "Come on Chloe, we've gotta beat them there! We can't let them risk getting Yamper or that Eevee, who knows what it's capable of!"
Chloe nodded her head but her thoughts drifted back to earlier with that Eevee seeming awfully friendly to her, quite unusual behavior for a Rocket Pokemon. Perhaps it was held against it's will? Maybe it didn't want to be with Team Rocket and that's why it escaped, but why was it running from Yamper?
"Piplup!" Piplup caught up to Yamper and Eevee as Eevee stopped at the end of the beach to catch her breath, breathing heavily while Yamper continued barking obnoxiously at Eevee, demanding she come back and apologize for the mess she made at the house! "Pip Piplup!" Piplup shook his fin at them both as the penguin was ticked off from them waking him, demanding that the two of them face him so he can teach them a lesson!
"Bouf!" A Bouffalant stampeded onto the beach, his head glowing with a bright orange-yellow glow as he slammed into Piplup resulting in the penguin being sent flying before crashing head first into the sand nearby, his legs and arms shaking angrily as he could be heard crying and shouting out angrily from beneath the sand.
"Good job, Bouffalant!" Leroy shouted.
"All thanks to Mandibuzz!" Cletus laughed as the large bird landed and pinned Eevee down.
"Yamp yamp!"
"Hey ain't that the Kantonian Lillipup?" Leroy asked upon noticing the corgi Pokemon as it started barking at them. A sinister smirk formed across his face. "Oh I do believe we're about to get some revenge!"
"But bro we got the Eevee! The docks are literally feet away from us, let's hop on and give the experiment to our ma!"
"Nuh uh! That brat and his girlfriend need to pay for humiliating me like that!" Leroy growled out.
"How do we even know they're comin'? Let's just steal the dog too if you're so desperate for revenge, that'll teach them!"
"They wouldn't know it was me though," Leroy's eyes scanned the area before spotting a strange black bird in the sky. "Another strange Pokemon, it must be the brat! So ya gonna side with your bro or play chicken and run?"
"I-I'm with you bro!" Cletus shouted. "Dark Pulse!" Mandibuzz fired off a purple and black pulse of energy, blasting Corvisquire right out of the sky as the bird soon disappeared from view.
"Haha, that'll teach him!" Leroy laughed.
"Heh, it went down like a chump!" Cletus added.
"...do you hear something?"
"Rio!" Riolu sped along the beach at a fast rate, rage flaring in his eyes as he delivered a hard slap against Bouffalant's face! The buffalo let a pained grunt before huffing as it stared Riolu down but the jackal refused to flinch as he stared up and gave the Unova Pokemon an intimidating stare.
"Head Charge!" Leroy shouted out eagerly. Bouffalant's head began glowing orange-yellow once more as he began charging at Riolu, the jackal quickly leaped out of the way while letting out a fierce growl.
"You two?!" Zach and Chloe caught up to Riolu, the two looked shocked that the Team Rocket grunts had beaten them there but upon seeing Mandibuzz and Bouffalant the two hypothesized they must have located them with Mandibuzz and rode Bouffalant there. "Riolu use Rock Smash!" Riolu prepared an attack but to Zach's surprise Riolu used a completely different and new attack instead, the jackal clamped his paws together and fired off a powerful sphere of aura energy, blasting Bouffalant back as Leroy gritted his teeth and began angrily shaking his fist.
"You can take that chump, charge Bouffalant!" Bouffalant's head began glowing once more as it brushed it's hoof across the ground before charging forward, rushing right through the Aura Sphere attack as Riolu's eyes widened but the jackal growled and pushed harder, summoning more power into the attack as he fired off a second Aura Sphere, Bouffalant began slowing down after exiting the first blast but once his head met the second blast, the buffalo collapsed with a hard thud!
"Nonono!" Leroy clutched at his hat with a frustrated expression as Bouffalant laid in defeat.
Chloe's eyes were set on Yamper and Eevee, Mandibuzz had Eevee pinned but an idea flew into her head. "Yamper use Spark!" Yamper's pelt ignited with electricity as he gave Mandibuzz a light shock but all that proved to do was make Mandibuzz emit a light laugh, almost as if she were being tickled.
Chloe tightened her fists wishing that she was able to do more to help Eevee, the Normal type saw her quick thinking however and gazed at her with an admirable expression while Mandibuzz continued to pin her down.
"Scor!" Scorbunny rushed to Chloe's side before tapping her chest as if to say she was there to help.
"O-Okay, Electroball?" Scorbunny smirked, a ball of electricity formed between her hands before she dropped it to the ground and gave it a kick proceeding to nail Mandibuzz in a critical spot between the wings as the Pokemon uttered a loud pained cry! A smile formed across Chloe's face as Mandibuzz loosened her grip, allowing Eevee to get free. She had no battle practice prior to this but she had to admit that felt good!
Eevee's eyes flared with rage as she turned to face Mandibuzz, her pelt igniting with flames as she tackled the vulture! Mandibuzz let out a fierce cry of pain before being followed by another as Chloe ordered out. "Flame Charge!"
Scorbunny's body ignited in flames as she charged across the beach, kicking up sand as she charged into Mandibuzz resulting in the Pokemon's body being sent flying and hitting Bouffalant's unconscious body mere moments after he fell!
"Well done Chloe, you handled that very well! No doubt you'd make quite the trainer!" Zach praised, Chloe smiled lightly from the compliment before nodding at her friend in appreciation. The two were going to show mercy to the Team Rocket goons as they were defeated but Eevee didn't see it that way, she rushed towards Leroy, Cletus and their defeated Pokemon and sent them all flying like bowling bins with a fiery tackle and a rage filled cry!
"Aaahhhh!" They were sent flying out towards the water before landing safely on a garbage barge as it was leaving the city, taking them far away!
"Well that takes care of them I guess," Zach muttered as he watched the garbage barge sail away. He hoped the potential days of smelling like trash would get them to reconsider their life goals but he had a feeling that it wouldn't. "So how about we take Eevee back to the Profes-Riolu?" Zach turned to face his best friend as the jackal began glowing a faint blue before being completely engulfed in a bright light as his body started growing taller, now standing as tall as his trainer! His tail outstretched while his body began growing a more muscular form. The light eventually faded to reveal Lucario standing there, the jackal turned his head to his trainer to greet him with a warm smile.
"Car!"
"You finally evolved!" Zach and Lucario threw their arms around one another as they let out cheers of laughter. Scorbunny's jaw dropped at the sight before crossing her arms in a huff as jealousy raged through her, she had to work even harder now if she hoped to stay at Lucario's level and evolve!
"Lucario the Aura Pokemon. It can tell what people are thinking by reading their auras. Only Trainers who have justice in their hearts can earn this Pokemon's trust!"
Zach's Rotom Phone registered Lucario's data.
Chloe looked at the two with a jealous look forming across her face, the bond between them looked incredible and quite desirable. Seeing that and the joy of battle that flowed through her while engaging Mandibuzz had helped a lot on making her decision but she just wasn't sure how to break it to her folks.
"P-Piplup!" Piplup soon broke free of the sand trap, leaping up and down with his face burning brightly as he shook his fist at Zach and Lucario mistaking them for the ones that had attacked him while he was busy challenging Yamper and Eevee to a battle. The two looked at one another in confusion but before they could Scorbunny had fired off another Electroball, nailing Piplup right in the stomach!
"Piplup!" Piplup gasped out before collapsing onto his back as swirls filled his eyes
"Scor!" Scorbunny held up her arms as if to say she was ready for her evolution, the rabbit closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them and swiftly looking over her body with a disappointed expression. "Scor!" She snapped her fingers.
"Don't worry Scorbunny, I don't think you'll have to wait much longer! Besides you're just as cute the way you are!" Zach laughed, stroking the rabbit's head as a smile soon returned to her face. He looked towards the defeated Piplup before taking a quick look around, it didn't appear to have a trainer so he reached into his pocket for a Dive Ball and tossed it at the defeated Piplup. The Water type was engulfed in a bright light as the ball hit the sand and started shaking before eventually sounding off a chime to announce the capture complete!
"Piplup the penguin Pokemon, Piplup's limited walking skills often cause it to fall down but that never hurts its pride!"
"Been awhile since we expanded the team," Zach placed the dive ball alongside the Pokeballs containing his other Pokemon. "We should get Eevee to your dad, I imagine he'll want to look her over and make sure that there are no drawbacks from whatever Team Rocket did to her."
Chloe nodded in agreement before turning to Eevee. "What'd you say, Eevee? Wanna come back with us?"
"Eevee!" Eevee leaped up with an excited look, landing into her arms. Yamper tilted his head at the lack of electricity but shrugged as he padded after his mistress and her friend.
"Interesting," Cerise had Eevee hooked up to one of his machines as it scanned Eevee's body, the monitor displaying some interesting information. "It appears that this Eevee doesn't know any attacks, not even the Tackle, Growl or Tail Whip that most Eevee start off with! Quite odd..."
"That's impossible, I definitely saw Eevee running around with her body on fire almost as if she was using Flame Charge but that wasn't it." Zach spoke up.
Chloe nodded her head. "Right, she clearly did that multiple times!"
Cerise stroked his chin before typing a few things into the computer. "Hm, I am getting irregular levels of emotion coming off of her. I have a theory to test," Cerise held out his arm, displaying a Poketreat as he held it in front of Eevee. "Hello there Eevee, would you like a treat?"
"Eevee!" Eevee leaped up, electricity flowing off of her pelt and shocking Cerise as she grabbed the treat from his hand!
"Ouch!" Cerise quickly shook his hand before looking down at Eevee once more. "No more treats for you!" He scolded, Chloe looked startled as it seemed quite unlike her father to scold a Pokemon. Eevee's eyes began watering before bubbles began firing out of her mouth. "Kidding!" Cerise did a complete change of tone and so did Eevee, the Normal type letting out a joyful cry before her body sparked as she tackled Cerise to the ground!
"...Her attacks are tied to her emotions!" Chloe gasped. "Fire for rage, Water for sadness, Electricity for joyfulness... but why wasn't I shocked when Eevee touched me?"
"If I were to guess Eevee isn't in complete control of the power dwelling within her thanks to Team Rocket's experiments but it appears that there's something about you that gives Eevee an anchor of control and prevents her from harming you!"
"That does make sense, Eevee shocked you but Chloe's scorch free. The worst Eevee did was get her clothes muddy." Zach noted.
"I'd like to test some more on Eevee, Chloe if you don't mind helping me out-"
"Actually dad there's something I want to say," Chloe clenched her fists and closed her eyes, seeming to be making an argument with herself within her mind. "I-I've done some thinking and I've realized that a normal job and life isn't the one for me, I-I'd like to become a Pokemon trainer and travel the world! And I'd love to have Charmander as my partner, Yamper too if it's alright with you and mom." Yamper was the family pet after all, she didn't want to just up and take him with her without their permission!
Cerise went silent as he turned his back to Chloe, a worried look formed across her face as she became worried of how he'd react but that soon changed as Cerise turned around to showcase a pink Rotom Phone and a set of Pokeballs within his hands. "I've had a suspicion that you'd say that for quite some time, I'm sure that Charmander and Yamper will work to keep you safe from harm. But where will you go?"
Chloe thought it over for a moment and turned her attention towards Zach before looking back at her father. "Galar, let's just say that I'd like to learn more about the region that my new friend and Yamper come from!"
Professor Cerise smiled at her choice before tilting his head in a questioning manner. "What about Eevee though? Who will raise her?"
Chloe gave Zach a look as if she thought he was more deserving of Eevee than she was. He had more experience than her and could handle any drawbacks from the experiment assuming there were any!
"Here, this'll help you and Eevee grow even closer!" Zach explained with a smile as he placed a Luxury Ball into her hand, this type of Pokeball cost him more than usual but he had a feeling Chloe would benefit more from it than he would. "Eevee already appears to have formed quite a liking towards you and I don't think I'll be able to compete with that even if I wanted to, I can always catch another Eevee but I don't think there will be another that looks at you the way this one does. You should catch her!"
Chloe gave her friend an appreciative smile before holding out the luxury ball to Eevee. "Well Eevee what do you say? Would you like to become my Pokemon and travel across the world with me?"
"Eevee!" Eevee responded with an excited cry, reaching out and giving the luxury ball a swat with her paw, allowing herself to be caught as she disappeared in a beam of red light with the ball chiming almost instantly to mark the capture a success!
Chloe's Rotom Phone then lit up as it properly registered her trainer information.
Professor Cerise gave his daughter an affectionate smile before the two hugged while Zach walked off to go inform the others about Chloe joining them.
"Take care big sis, I'll be seeing you out there soon!" Chloe's little brother waved after her as Chloe walked down the road with Ash, Marnie and Zach. Although she wasn't traveling with them, she was heading with them to catch a ride to the Galar region.
"Be careful, stay far away from Team Rocket!" Her mother cried out.
"She'll be fine dear," Cerise reassured his wife, petting her shoulder.
"Jackie please be careful," A feminine voice spoke through a communicator as Jack Walker carefully stepped across the terrain of an island whose coordinates was lost to most, only a few select individuals knew of the location.
"Relax Solana, I'll be fine." Jack assured her. "We've gotten some unusual readings from the island lately, I've got to make sure that nobody has discovered my friends!" Radio static soon sounded in his ear causing Jack to pull the device away from his ear before pocketing it as he quickly looked around. He whistled out in his usual tone hoping for a response but wasn't greeted with the usual tackle greet of his blue and red colored friends. He started speedily walking along before coming to a clearing where his heart started beating rapidly upon seeing the defeated form of his blue friend, the legendary Pokemon Latios standing out in the open as if left out as bait! Jack knew it was most likely a trap but he had to check on him, placing his palm across the eon Pokemon's chest and breathing a sigh of relief before the nearby bushes rustled and a large shirtless dark skinned figure stepped on out, his muscular arms crossed as he laughed upon the sight while a Crawdaunt and Machamp appeared by the man's side. "The Jackie Walker here in my home region, what a pleasant surprise!"
"I recognize you, you're Matt! Former admin of Team Aqua and now leader of the Team Rocket Hoenn branch!"
"Correct!" Matt flexed his muscles while showing off quite the egotistical smirk. "It is quite fitting that I, Matt of Team Aq-Rocket is what puts an end to you! But for now I shall leave you alive, I can't find that red thing anywhere. Apparently her own brother isn't good enough bait so perhaps I have to add to the pile!" Machamp walked behind Jackie and constrained him with a tight rope knot across his arms and legs before tossing him down against the dirt!
"Jackie...? Jackie?!" Solana shouted at her monitor with a frantic expression.
