Chapter eighteen

When he slid his eyes open, Walten was surprise to find himself back to the strange place.

Blinking the sleep away, the white tubby slowly sat up and looked around, his ears twitching, trying to pick up some noises. He picked up some random clacking sound, but nothing too threatening.

'What does this dream means?' he thought, trying to figure out what was going on before moving to his feet and decided to wander around.

Luckily the checkered pathway was lit up enough for Walten to easily follow without getting lost in the dark fog. After nearly an hour of walking, Walten was completely bored and couldn't find anything.

He soon stopped with a sigh and cupped around his mouth. "Hello!" he yelled out, listening to his voice echoing out throughout the area. After a minute of waiting for a response, Walten let out a groan and sat back down, crossing his arms in annoyance. "What's the point of all this" Walten grunts to himself before suddenly squeaking in surprise when he felt a hand touch his shoulders and a second later, he heard amused laughter behind.

When he looked back, he saw that it was a tubby with black fur and his hair was covering his eyes. He was also laughing with a big grin, revealing sharp teeth which didn't really scare Walten.

The white tubby slightly pout and crossed his arms, "Oh har har, laugh it up" Walten grunt out in annoyance while waiting for the mysterious tubby to finish.

It took a few tries, but the black tubby finally stopped laughing and was panting, but still grinning and looking down at Walten.

"I'm glad that you found that amusing" Walten said in a sarcastic tone, making the black tubby chuckle more before sitting in front of him, "I'm sorry, but that is pretty amusing" he said with a chuckle which Walten couldn't help but laugh a bit, "I guess it was"

They stayed in comfortable silence for a few minutes until Walten broke it. "So who are you?" the white tubby asked which the black tubby tilted his head before leaning against the palm of his hand, "Mm...you can call me Shadow" the black tubby introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you Shadow, my name is-" "Walten I know" Shadow interrupted him making Walten blink in surprise. "Yeah...how did you-" "Because I stalk you" Shadow said in a scary tone making Walten widens his eyes in slight fear, but Shadow suddenly let out a small laugh with a wave of his hand.

"I'm kidding" Shadow reassured him. "Um...sure..." Walten trailed off, not sure if he could believe him or no. 'He's probably a prankster' he thought.

"But seriously, I don't really stalk you" Shadow said with a smile.

Soon enough Walten started to get drowsy, "Ngh..." he groan out, "Don't fight it, you're probably waking up" Shadow told him with a smile, "B-But.." Walten tried to say something, but Shadow gently laid him to the ground and started running his fingers along his hair, "Don't worry, we'll talk again" Shadow said which was the last thing Walten heard before blacking out.

"Mm..." Walten slowly opened his eyes and saw the ceiling of the medical room and blinks a bit. 'Shadow...for some reason, I felt like I knew him...' Walten thought as he sat up before looking to the other bed, only to see it empty.

"Ron probably visiting Dipsy" Walten mutter out before stretching a bit and tiredly got out of the bed, feeling completely refreshed. Then he looked at his shoulder, seeing a bit of blood staining the bandage.

Not feeling pain on his shoulder, Walten started to unroll the bandage and when the bandage was completely removed, Walten was shocked to find that the wound had disappeared and when he felt around, he could feel a small scar underneath his fur.

Then he smiles a bit, 'Thank you Tinky' he thought before sitting up and walking out of the room. 'I need to see him'
