I got nothing to say right now so... enjoy! :P
A few nights later after the lock-in at the school, Scott was still feeling down in the dumps from his 'break' with Allison. He had tried calling and texting her multiple times, but she would not pick up her phone. If Scott was not busy trying to get a response from the brunette, he would mope around his house. Whenever Stiles and Natalie would visit him, he would be lying on his stomach in bed. It was pretty pathetic.
Deciding to take matters into his own hands like the most amazing friend he was, Stiles stole some liquor from his dad's cabinet and dragged Natalie and Scott out into the woods. Of course Scott was completely against this, but he didn't really have a choice since Natalie grabbed his ear and painfully pulled him out to Stiles's jeep, saying if she had to go through with whatever idea Stiles planned, he had to also. Even as they trudged through the woods, Scott complained as the couple led him.
"Where are we going?" he asked.
"You'll see," Stiles told him.
"'Cause we really shouldn't be out here," Scott continued, "My mom is in a constant state of freak-out from what happened at the school."
"Well you're mom isn't either the sheriff or deputy, okay? There's no comparison, trust me."
"Can you at least tell me what we're doing out here?"
"Yes. When your best friend gets dumped-"
Scott was quick to defend himself. "I didn't get dumped. We're taking a break."
Natalie snorted. "Yeah. A 'break'."
"What?" Scott said incredulously, "We really are!"
"Sometimes I think you guys forget that I'm a female," Natalie said, "Believe me, when a girl says that you're taking a break, she's really breaking up with you."
"Alright," Stiles said before his best friends could start a debate, "Well, when your best friend gets told by his girlfriend that they're taking a break…" He pulled a bottle of Jack Daniels out of his jacket. "You get your best friend drunk."
Letting out an excited laugh, Natalie clapped her hands together. "Hells yeah! Please tell me that you brought Mike's Hard Lemonade."
"Way ahead of you, babe," Stiles said as he pulled out said drink. Natalie beamed before kissing her boyfriend's cheek.
She placed the top of the bottle in between her teeth and bit the cap off. Like Stiles did the other day with the highlighter cap, Natalie spit the cap up in the air and caught it. Stiles cringed and decided to just use the bottle opener connected to his keys.
"I still don't understand how you can do that without breaking your teeth," he said, shaking his head.
"Lots of practice, darlin'," Natalie smirked.
"Guys, are you sure that we should be doing this?" Scott asked, looking around them, "What if your dads find us out here? We could get in so much trouble for this."
Stiles clasped his shoulder. "Relax, man. We've been chased around by a psycho werewolf way too much these past couple of weeks, Derek's still missing, we have yet to determine who the white wolf is, and to top it all off, we have a test in Harris's class tomorrow that I'm pretty sure we're gonna bomb."
"Speak for yourself," Natalie scoffed. Her boyfriend rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. We deserve to let loose for one night." He raised the bottle of Jack Daniels. "Here's to still being alive!"
"Cheers!"
They clinked their bottles together and tipped their heads back as they chugged their drinks. Natalie grimaced when she felt the burn from the alcohol but then she let out a happy holler.
"We're fucking shit up tonight!"
It only took the couple ten minutes for them to get completely trashed. Scott was sitting on a rock next to a bin filled with fire, still sober. Meanwhile, Stiles was lying down at his best friend's feet, drunkenly rambling about only God knows what since Scott had stopped paying attention a minute ago.
"Dude, you know…" Stiles said, "she's just one… one girl. You know, there are so many… there are so many other girls in the sea."
"Fish in the sea," Scott corrected.
Stiles furrowed his eyebrows. "Fish? Why you talking about fish? I'm talking about girls." He sighed dreamily, "I love girls. I love 'em. I love especially ones with long red velvet hair, big brown eyes, 5'3", bubble butts…"
"Like Natalie?"
Smiling at the thought of his girlfriend, Stiles said, "Yeah, exactly. Hey, how did you know I was talking about… about…" He paused as he tried to regain his train of thought. "What was I talking about?"
Scott raised an eyebrow. "Natalie."
"Oh yeah!" Frowning, Stiles looked down at his side. "Where is she anyway?"
"Over there," Scott said, pointing to the redhead who was squatting next to a tree, "She's been trying to get that squirrel to sing for the past five minutes."
"Come on, Alvin!" Natalie yelled exasperatedly in front of her, "Why won't you just cooperate with me? It's not that hard!" The squirrel continued to look around and Natalie pouted. "You know, if Simon and Theodore were here, I wouldn't be having this problem right now."
The whole time, Stiles was watching her with a fond smile stretched across his face. "Isn't she just the best, Scott? God, I love her so much. Let me… let me tell you something, Scotty. That girl… she is the most incredible person I have ever met. She has faced death too many times in her life. More times than anyone ever should. But she still walks around with her head held high and a bright smile on her face. That, my friend… that is a warrior… an angel… an angelic warrior."
As Scott looked at his best friend with raised eyebrows, Natalie clumsily stood up and made her way over to the boys. She had her third Mike's Hard Lemonade in her hand and Scott was surprised that she could even walk. Then Natalie started singing. More like rapping.
"Boats and hoes! Boats and hoes! I gotta have me and my boats and hoes!" She mumbled a bit before taking another drink. When she noticed Scott frowning, she pointed her finger at him. "Hey, you're not happy. Why aren't you happy?"
"Here," Stiles said, holding the bottle up to Scott, "Take a drink."
"I don't want anymore," Scott told him.
"You're not drunk?"
The werewolf shook his head. "I'm not anything."
Stiles sat up. "Hey, maybe it's like… maybe it's like not needing your inhaler anymore, you know? Maybe you can't get drunk as a werewolf." His eyebrows crinkled. "Am I drunk?"
"You're wasted." Scott nodded towards Natalie. "Both of you are."
Natalie pumped her fist up. "Fuck yeah!" She bumped knuckles with Stiles but when she tried to get Scott to do the same, he didn't do anything.
"Come on, dude," Stiles said, "I know it feels bad. I know it hurts." He thought to himself a bit. "Well, I don't know. But I know this. I know as much as being broken up hurts, being alone is way worse." Then he chuckled as he shook his head. "That didn't make any sense. I need a drink."
But before he could take another swig of the alcohol, a large hand took it away. The trio looked up and saw two burly men standing above them with creepy grins on their faces.
"Well look at the three little bitches getting their drink on," the first guy said.
"That was rude," Natalie pouted.
"Give it back," Scott told them.
The first man smirked. "What was that, little man?" he teased.
"I think he wants a drink," the second man said.
Scott didn't falter. "I want the bottle."
"Scott, maybe we should just go," Stiles said to him.
"You and Natalie brought me here to get drunk, Stiles. I'm not drunk yet." As the first man took a drink, the werewolf hopped off the rock and walked up to them. "Give me the bottle." The man just shook his head. Using his abilities to his advantage, Scott flashed his golden-yellow eyes and deepened his voice. Even his claws came out. "Give me the bottle of jack."
Both men's eyes widened at the strange sight. The man finally handed Scott the bottle back. Scott then threw the bottle at a tree and it shattered to bits and pieces. Startled, the men walked away. But of course, drunken Natalie had to have to final word.
"Yeah, that's right, bitches!" she called out after them, "You better walk away! 'Cause my boy Scotty will beat your asses like the boss he is!"
"Alright, you are way out of it," Scott mumbled. He walked over to Natalie, placed her arm around his neck, and pulled her up. "Stiles, help me out here."
Stiles wobbled as he stood up but he was able to walk while helping Natalie get to his jeep.
"Wow, you guys are really strong," Natalie said, "Do you work out?"
Smirking, Stiles said, "Well, now that you mention it-"
"Shut up, Stiles," Scott rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Okay, please tell me what happened back there was because of the breakup. Or 'cause tomorrow's the full moon." The boys laid Natalie down in the backseat. Since Scott was the only sober, he took Stiles's keys and opened the passenger door. "Going home now, yeah?" Scott nodded his head and Stiles slipped into his seat.
Then Scott drove to Natalie's house. After he parked in her driveway, he and Stiles grabbed the redhead and walked her to the front door. Scott knocked on the door and prayed that Natalie's mother wouldn't answer. Much to his relief, Zach opened the door. He raised an eyebrow when he saw his intoxicated sister.
"What the hell…"
Scott pulled a ten dollar bill out of his back pocket and held it up. "We won't tell if you won't."
Zach looked at the dollar and shrugged his shoulders. "Deal." He plucked the money out of Scott's hand then took Natalie from them. "Come on, sis."
"Aw, look, it's my baby brother!" She pinched Zach's cheek. "Isn't he so cute? And you got taller, too!"
"Wow, you're so hammered," Zach said. He turned to Scott and Stiles. "Thanks for bringing her home on time, boys. I got it from here."
"Whatever you say, man," Stiles said. He gave Zach a two-finger salute. "See you guys tomorrow." When he turned around, he missed the top step of the porch and face-planted on the concrete. "Ow…"
Raising his eyebrows, Zach looked at Scott. "Do I wanna know?"
"Not really."
"Beautiful Monday morning! Beacon Hills High School is back open after being closed Thursday and Friday. Police search continues for alleged killer Derek Hale-"
Groaning, Natalie smacked her hand down on her alarm clock. She pulled her blanket over her head and tried to go back to sleep. But then Stiles walked in with a glass of water and two pills.
"Morning, star shine!" Stiles chirped, "The earth says hello!"
"Get the fuck out of here," Natalie grumbled.
Stiles set the water and pills on the nightstand and sat on the edge of the bed. He pulled the covers off of Natalie, who whined in protest.
He patted her bare thigh. "Come on. Up and at 'em, babe."
"You know," Natalie said, sitting up and rubbing her forehead, "for it being a Monday morning, you're awfully chipper." She took the water and pills from Stiles and swallowed them with a wince.
"Well I'm just hoping that it'll be a good day," Stiles said, "Who knows? Maybe the alpha won't try to murder us this week."
"But isn't tonight the full moon?" Natalie asked, "There's a pretty good chance that Scotty's gonna try to attack us. We have to worry about that on top of the alpha."
A sly smile appeared on Stiles's face as he shrugged off his backpack. "That's why we're coming prepared." He pulled out a pair of handcuffs and held them up, making Natalie's eyebrows raise.
"Wow. You got a little kink there that I don't know about?"
"Ha, you're so funny." Stiles got up and went over to her closet. He started to look through her clothes and picked out a black off-the-shoulder sweater and ripped skinny jeans. "Here. Get dressed."
He handed Natalie the clothes and she inspected them. "Not bad, Stilinski. Who knew that you actually had some sort of fashion sense?"
"Don't you dare diss the flannels!" Stiles gasped, pointing accusingly, "Just you wait. One day they'll come back in style."
"Yeah, and on that same day, I'll go skinny-dipping at the beach."
"Will you really?" Stiles asked with hopeful wide eyes.
"No, you fuckin' weirdo! Now turn around so I can change."
Rolling his eyes, Stiles faced the wall. Natalie pulled a black bra with blue lace out of her drawer and pulled her t-shirt off. She clasped her bra on before shedding her lounge shorts. Then she slipped her jeans on first and then the sweater.
"You can look now," Natalie told Stiles.
"You do know that I've seen you naked before, right?" Stiles said as he turned around.
"When we were little kids and I wasn't fully-developed yet,"" Natalie said as she tied her Converse. She then decided to leave her hair up in a messy bun and to just tie a paint-splattered bandana on the top of her head.
Stiles scratched his chin. "Well…"
The redhead's jaw dropped. "Seriously? When did you see me naked recently?"
"Uh… remember during the summer when we all went to your lake house and we went to go change in your room?"
"But you were changing in the bathroom!"
"Yeah, but I might have peeked…" Stiles cringed when Natalie's eyes narrowed angrily. "Sorry? Ow!" She had thrown a half-empty water bottle at him and it hit his chest. "What the hell did you expect? There was a very hot naked girl standing only a few feet away from me putting on a bikini! That's like every guy's dream!"
Grumbling to herself, Natalie slid one of her rubber bracelets on her wrist. "Why the hell do I still put up with you?"
"Because you love me," Stiles smiled cheekily as he hugged her from behind.
"Is that what you tell yourself to make you feel better?" Natalie smirked.
Instead of answering, Stiles began pressing light kisses to her neck, making her sigh. Reaching behind her, Natalie placed her hand on Stiles's cheek as he looked up at her. He met her halfway into a deep kiss. The redhead melted into it, instantly forgiving Stiles for peeping at her. How could she stay mad at a face like his? Especially with those damn whiskey-colored eyes. They continued to make-out in that same position and Stiles hugged her tighter. They didn't even notice Zach standing under the doorway.
"You know, I'd hate to ruin a perfectly romantic moment between you and my sister," he said sarcastically, making the couple jump and pull away from each other, "but some of us have an earlier schedule and would like to not be late for class."
Stiles pulled his keys out of his pocket and tossed them to the youngest Henderson. "Go start the car. We'll be right out."
"Sweet!" Then Zach dashed down the stairs.
"Hey, and you better not drive around the block again," Stiles called after him.
"That only happened one time!"
"Yeah, one time too many!"
It was moments like this when Natalie wondered if it was Stiles and Zach who should've been brothers. They argued more than the actual siblings did. But Natalie knew that Stiles was very protective of her brother like he was his own. It made her feel grateful that two of the most important men in her life besides her dad and Scott actually got along.
She patted Stiles's chest. "Way to take charge, buddy." Then she grabbed her backpack and slipped her arms through the straps. "Let's go. We don't wanna keep Zach waiting for too long."
"Hold on one second."
Unexpectedly, Stiles grabbed her face to kiss her again, only this time with more passion. But Natalie enjoyed it nonetheless. She gripped onto her shoulders when he broke the kiss but kept his face just centimeters from hers.
"Someone's a little hands-on today," Natalie smiled.
"I guess the full moon doesn't only affect werewolves," Stiles joked. He let out a little howl. Natalie pushed him away but even she couldn't hide her laughter.
Allison and Lydia were walking towards Harris's class as they talked about Scott and what had happened the other night at the school. When they walked by Natalie's locker, they noticed that her head was buried in her locker, but it didn't seem like she was looking for anything. The two girls walked over to Natalie and they heard her lightly snoring. Rolling her eyes, Lydia tapped the redhead's shoulder as she jolted awake.
"I'm up, I'm up!" she mumbled, turning around to face them. She had on a pair of black bug-eyed sunglasses on her face.
Lydia pointed at Natalie. "What's with the, uh…"
Before she could finish her question, Natalie pulled her sunglasses off. Their eyes widened when they saw the very dark circles under her eyes. She looked awful!"
"Whoa…" Allison said.
"Yeah, I know, I look like a panda," Natalie said, "I didn't really have any time to put makeup on because Zach was rushing Stiles and me out of the house."
That was when Lydia started rummaging through her purse. "And that's where I come in. Good thing we're the same shade." She pulled out a foundation compact and reached out to Natalie's face to apply the makeup.
"No! Get that out of my- Lydia, stop it!" Natalie tried to dodge from her friend's hands but the strawberry-blonde wasn't having it.
"Just hold still! This won't take long!"
Finally getting a hold of the makeup, Natalie yanked it out of Lydia's hand and threw it in her locker. She quickly shut the door and fastened the lock so Lydia couldn't get it.
"I'm fine," Natalie assured her, "I don't need you caking my face with ten pounds of makeup."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Allison asked, "I remember you fell asleep in English at one point."
Natalie sighed. "Yeah. Stiles thought it'd be a brilliant idea to take us out into the middle of the woods last night and do a little…" She stuck out her pinkie and thumb and made a drinking motion as she clicked her tongue. Then she gestured to her face. "This is what happens when you drink too much, kids. Let this be a lesson to you."
"Yeah, I'll be sure to remember that," Lydia said. One of her other friends called her over. "See you two in class." She gave them a little wave before walking off.
"Was Scott with you?" Allison asked, catching Natalie a little off guard.
"Uh… Yeah. Yeah, he was with us."
The brunette nodded slightly. Then they both started walking to class. "Can I ask you something, Nat?"
"Sure."
"Well, I asked Lydia this earlier, but… should I have broken things off with Scott?"
When Natalie looked at Allison, she looked a little lost. Like she might've made a huge mistake by ending their relationship. And Natalie felt bad for both of them. She really did. For the short time they've known each other, their feeling developed quickly. It was obvious to those around them that Allison and Scott really love each other. Natalie sighed.
"Look, Allison, I'm not gonna lie, but Scott's absolutely devastated about the breakup. And because I'm his best friend, I can say that seeing him mope around is one of the saddest and most pathetic things I've ever seen. But I understand why you did it. I mean, if Stiles was lying to me about something and left me defenseless, I'd be pretty pissed too."
"I just don't know how to feel about this whole thing. Of course I still love Scott, but I don't know if what he did is forgivable or not and…" Allison groaned and ran her hand through her hair. "I don't know what I should do!"
"Hey, it'll be fine," Natalie assured her, wrapping an arm around Allison's shoulders, "Maybe this break will be good for the both of you. Absence does make the heart grow fonder."
Allison looked expectedly at the redhead. "Do you really believe that?"
"Well, um, I mean, I don't have a lot of personal experience," Natalie sputtered, "But we can sure as well hope so, right?"
Chuckling, Allison let her friend lead her to their chemistry class. When Allison went over to her seat, Natalie put her sunglasses back on, slumped next to Stiles, and rested her head on his shoulder. He patted her hair and laughed at her tired face.
"Aw, my poor baby," he teased.
"Fuck you," Natalie groaned, "This is all your doing."
"I never said you had to drink with us."
Natalie rolled her eyes. "Oh please, you were tempting me with Mike's Hard Lemonade. How the hell are you not hungover?"
"It's like I'm immune to it," Stiles shrugged, "Maybe that's my supernatural strength. Drink one night and not have a killer headache when I wake up the next day."
"Aw, man, that would be an awesome power to have!"
Soon Mr. Harris began passing out the test. When he got to Stiles and Natalie's table, he told the redhead to lose the sunglasses. She grumbled but took them off anyway. Then after he finished handing the test out to everyone, Mr. Harris walked up to the front of the classroom.
"You have forty-five minutes to complete the test," he told the class, "Twenty-five percent of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." Stiles and Natalie looked at each other with wide eyes and quickly scribbled their name on the test. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher. So let's get the disappointment over with. Begin."
Everyone opened their test booklet and began to work. So far, Natalie seemed to know most of the answers. But she was trying so hard to not doze off. She just felt so exhausted! As soon as her eyes began to flutter shut, they would snap back open, which was happening a lot more than necessary. Stiles noticed Natalie's chin in her hand and her eyelids starting to close. He nudged her lightly with his elbow, waking her up right away.
"You okay?" he mouthed.
She just nodded her head and went back to taking her test. Her boyfriend couldn't help but worry as she struggled to stay awake. It couldn't have been any more obvious that Natalie was still not getting as much sleep as she should be. The dark circles under her eyes were more than enough proof. He made a mental note to himself to talk to her about it later.
Then all of a sudden, Scott had jumped out of his seat and everyone turned around at the commotion. With both hands on his head and no explanation, he ran out of the classroom.
"Mr. McCall!" Mr. Harris called after him. But Scott was already out of the room. Stiles then followed after him. "Mr. Stilinski!"
Shrugging her shoulders, Natalie said, "Fuck it." She threw down her pencil and pushed her chair back.
"Miss Henderson, you better-"
"Too late!" she yelled back as she raced out the door. She caught up with Stiles. "Where'd he go?"
Then they heard a shower turn on. It was coming from the boys' locker room. Stiles took Natalie's hand and the couple ran off. When they entered the back of the locker room, Scott was standing under one of the shower heads with his shirt off. His hands were on his knees and he was breathing heavily. He looked up at his best friends.
"Stiles, Natalie, I can't…"
"Wait, what's going on?" Natalie asked, "Are you shifting?"
"No," Scott panted, "No, I can't breathe."
Stiles dug into his backpack and pulled out Scott's inhaler. "Here, use this," he told the werewolf. Scott looked at him suspiciously. "Come on, do it."
Scott took the inhaler and shook it. The he brought it up to his lips and inhaled some of the air. After a few moments of holding his breath, Scott exhaled slowly. Natalie turned the shower off and Scott leaned against the wall as he tried to calm down.
"I was having an asthma attack?" he asked.
"No, you were having a panic attack," Stiles told him, "But thinking you were having an asthma attack actually stopped the panic attack. Irony."
The werewolf looked at his best friend in awe. "How did you know to do that?"
"I used to get them after my mom died and Natalie was sick. Not fun, huh?" Natalie squeezed her boyfriend's hand comfortingly, which Stiles really appreciated.
"I looked at her," Scott said, "and it was like someone hit me in the ribs with a hammer."
"That, Scotty, is called heartbreak," Natalie said, "Taylor Swift has written many songs about it. And I still can't get them out of my head…"
"I can't stop thinking about her."
"Well, you could think about this," Stiles said, "Her dad's a werewolf hunter, and you're a werewolf, so it was bound to become an issue."
Both of his friends turned to look at him in disbelief. Natalie slapped the back of his head, making him cringe in pain. He rubbed the sore spot.
"That wasn't helpful," he realized.
"No, it was not!" Natalie told him. She turned to Scott. "Scott, heartbreak sucks. That's just a part of life."
"No, that's not it," Scott said, "It was like I could feel everything in the room… everyone else's emotions."
"It's gotta be the full moon," Stiles said, "So we'll lock you up in your room later just like we planned. That way the alpha- who is your boss- can't get to you either."
Shaking his head, Scott said, "I think we need to do more than lock me in my room."
"Why?" Natalie asked, "Do you think the hunters will catch you if you get out?"
"No. Because if I get out… I think I might kill someone."
"Alright, geniuses, listen up!" Coach Finstock bellowed, catching his lacrosse team's attention, "Due to the recent pinkeye epidemic-"
Natalie pretended to cough into her hand. "Greenberg!" she coughed, and said boy threw his hands up in bewilderment.
"What the hell are you even here, Henderson?" Jackson asked, glaring at the redhead.
"Baseball practice was cancelled," Natalie shrugged, "Coach Samson got a bad case of food poisoning so she told us to go home. Since my boyfriend here is my ride… here I am!" She flashed him a smug grin.
The coach rolled his eyes. "Fine. I'll let you stay if you keep your mouth shut." Natalie pretended to zip her lips, lock them, and throw away the key. "As I was saying, the following people have made first line on a probationary basis, emphasis on the word 'probationary'." He looked down at his clipboard. "Rodriguez. Welcome to first line. Taylor, and uh… oh, for the love of crap, I can't even read my own writing. What is that? An 's'?"
Stiles looked up with hopeful eyes. He glanced at his girlfriend, who gave him an encouraging smile and slipped her hand in his.
"No, no, that's not an 's'," Coach Finstock said, deflating Stiles's hopes, "That's a… that's a… that's a 'b'. It's definitely a 'b'. Uh, Rodriguez, Taylor, and uh… Bilinksi."
Eyes growing large, Stiles's head snapped up. Bilinski may not have been his actual name, but that was beside the point- he made it on first line! Leaping off the bench, Stiles whooped and hollered in excitement. Natalie jumped on her boyfriend as they both cheered. Everyone gave the couple strange looks, but neither one of them could care less. They just continued to celebrate.
"Bilinski! Henderson!"
With huge smiles still plastered on their faces, Stiles and Natalie stopped and turned to the coach. "Yes?"
"Shut up!"
"Yes, sir," Stiles said as they sat down next to Scott.
"Stiles," the werewolf said.
"It's Biles," Stiles told him, "Call me Biles or I swear to god, I'll kill you."
"Another thing," Coach Finstock continued, "From here on out, immediately, we're switching to co-captains. Congratulations, McCall."
The announcement took both Scott and Jackson aback. While Scott's eyes in shock and fear, Jackson's narrowed in anger. "What?"
"What do you mean what?" Coach Finstock said, "Jackson, this takes nothing away from you. This is about combining separate strengths into one unit. This is about taking your unit, McCall's unit, we're making one big unit. McCall, it's you and Jackson now."
"Aw, how cute!" Natalie cooed jokingly, "It's like one big family. I'm guessing Jackson's the mom since he spends the most time doing his hair." Jackson flipped her off to which she responded by sticking her tongue out at him.
"Henderson, shut it," Coach Finstock snapped, "Everybody else- asses on the field! Asses on the field!"
As everyone exited out of the locker room, Natalie wrapped her arms around Scott and Stiles's shoulders, still beaming with pride.
"God, this is so awesome!" Natalie said, "My boyfriend made first line and my best friend is co-captain. I'm so excited for you two!"
"Thanks, Nat," Stiles smiled, wrapping his arm around Natalie's waist and kissing her cheek.
"Oh, crap," the redhead said, "I forgot my backpack in the locker room. I'll catch you guys on the field."
Stiles nodded and gave her a quick kiss before walking away. He grinned widely. "Are you not freaking out?" he asked Scott, "I'm freaking out."
"What's the point?" Scott said, "It's just a stupid title. And I could practically smell the jealousy in there."
"Wait, you smell jealousy?"
"Yeah, it's like the full moon's turned everything up to ten."
A thought popped up in Stiles's head and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Can you pick up on stuff like… I don't know, desire?"
"What do you mean desire?" Scott asked.
"Like sexual desire…"
Scott raised an eyebrow. "Sexual desire?"
"Yeah, sexual desire," Stiles said, "Lust, passion, arousal."
"From Nat?"
"What?" Stiles scoffed, "No, in a general, broad sense, can you determine sexual desire?"
"From Natalie to you?"
The lanky teen let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine! Yes, from me to Natalie. Look, I've been thinking for a while about taking the next step in my relationship with her. Our make-out sessions have been getting very intense lately but we always get interrupted before we can get any further. I really love her and I just wanna know if she's ready to go all the way with me."
Scrunching up his face, Scott asked, "Why don't you just ask her yourself? She's your girlfriend."
"Because it's embarrassing to just straight up ask her if she wants to have sex."
"And you don't think it'll be embarrassing for me? You two are my best friends and just the thought of you having sex is uncomfortable for me."
"Please, can you just go up and ask her if she's ready?" Stiles begged, "See if her heartbeat rises, pheromones come out."
Scott rolled his eyes and sighed. "Fine."
Pumping his fist up in the air, Stiles let out a cheer. "I love you. I love you. You're my best friend in the whole world." Then he ran off to the lacrosse field.
When Scott went back into the boys' locker room, he saw Natalie crouching by Stiles's locker and zipping up her backpack. She was completely oblivious to him walking up behind her. After a few moments, she stood up and bumped into Scott's chest.
"Oh, shit!" she gasped, jumping slightly. She let out a breath of relief when she saw that it was only her best friend. "Jesus, Scotty! I really hate this sneaky thing you werewolves got going on."
"Sorry," Scott said, "I just needed to ask you something." He ran a hand through his hair. "Do you, uh… do you know if Allison still likes me?"
Natalie slung her backpack over her shoulders. "Well, yeah, of course she does."
"Really?"
"Yeah," Natalie said, "She really does still like you."
"Well, should I go up and talk to her? Try to patch things up?" Scott asked.
"Scotty," Natalie sighed, "I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told Allison. Maybe what you both need right now is space from each other. She's still pretty pissed about the whole school thing and you still have the alpha and the white wolf to worry about. Now's not the best time to try to fix a relationship." Then Scott began to chuckle, making Natalie furrow her eyebrows. "What's so funny?"
"I think I know what's really going on here," Scott said.
"What are you talking about?"
"You have feelings for me, don't you?" Scott smirked, stepping closer to Natalie, "You're jealous that I'm in love with Allison and that all of my attention has been on her."
The redhead's eyes have grown large. "Wait, what? No. That is not it at all. You're my best friend."
"Don't lie to me, Natalie," Scott said, "Admit it. You're attracted to me. You've always been attracted to me."
"Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you? I'm in love with Stiles, who is also your best friend. Did you forget about that?"
At this point, Natalie's back was pressed up against one of the lockers. Scott was so close to her that their chests were now touching. Natalie felt scared, disturbed, and very violated. Her stomach coiled as Scott's eyes flashed golden-yellow.
He started playing with a loose strand of her red velvet hair. "I think you and I would've been good together, Nat. You're co-captain of the baseball team and I'm now co-captain of the lacrosse team. That's like a match made in heaven, don't you think?"
"Okay, you know what? I really hope that this is the full moon talking because I am seriously this close to-"
Cutting her off mid-sentence, Scott grabbed Natalie's face and planted his lips on hers forcefully. Her shrieks were muffled and she pounded her fists on his chest, but he wouldn't move. Finally, with all the strength she had, Natalie was able to push the werewolf off of her. Scott was breathing heavily and his eyes were still that golden-yellow color. Natalie looked up at her best friend in shock. She wasn't the only one who was taken aback by the action. Scott had just kissed his best friend! Not to mention that she was also his other best friend's girlfriend. What the fuck did he just do?
"Natalie, I am so-"
Said girl drew her arm back and punched Scott square in the jaw. Of course he felt the impact, but he was able to heal from the punch quickly. Natalie, on the other hand, wasn't as lucky. She cried out as she cradled her now throbbing hand.
"Aw, bitches!" she seethed, shaking out her hand, "Fuck, that hurt!"
"I am so sorry, Nat," Scott tried to apologize, "I don't know what came over me."
The redhead put a finger up. "Don't. I can't believe you…" She was at a complete loss of words. So she just shook her head and ran out of the room. How in the world was she ever going to explain this to Stiles?
As she ran down the hallway, Natalie was trying her best not to have a panic attack. She looked behind her for one second to see if Scott was following her when all of a sudden she ran into a hard wall of muscle. If a hand hadn't grabbed her wrist, she would have fallen on her rear. Natalie looked up and saw to her surprise, Derek Hale.
"Hey, you're alive!" she said, "See, I knew that you weren't dead. No puppy dog could defeat the big bad wolf."
"Shut up," he snapped, letting go of her wrist, "What do you know about the white wolf?"
"Wow, you're just quick to start asking questions, aren't you?" Natalie quipped. Derek growled and she raised her hands up in defense. "Okay! Damn, you really need to work on your socializing skills."
"What do you know about the white wolf?" Derek repeated, only this time more slow.
Natalie shrugged. "Nothing, really. It locked us in the chemistry room that night at the school. It was protecting us from Scott. The alpha wanted him to kill us."
Derek's eyebrows furrowed. "It was protecting you?" Natalie nodded her head. "And you said that it was there in the video store, right?"
"Yeah." She crossed her arms when Derek turned away to think to himself. "Why? Do you know who it is?"
"Yes…" Then he shook his head. "No…"
"Well, which is it?"
"I don't know," Derek admitted, "Last night, it stopped by my house. It was lying by the porch for at least an hour. That was the first time I've ever seen it since I came back to Beacon Hills. Not once did it move. It just sat there. I was about to approach it until a twig snapped. Then it took off. But… it looked and smelled familiar."
"God, that must suck to be able to smell everything," Natalie said, scrunching her nose.
The older werewolf shook his head. "But it wasn't like it was foul. It actually smelled… sweet. Kind of like vanilla." He sighed in frustration. "I feel like I should know who it is. I don't know why I can't remember."
"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't really help you much," Natalie said apologetically, "I've only seen this thing twice. I don't know anything about it."
"Let me know when you see it again," Derek ordered, "Because as soon as we catch the alpha, I'm gonna find out who that wolf is."
Then it was like Derek had disappeared into thin air. Natalie didn't even get a chance to ask him anything, like why he was so eager to get to the white wolf. Was it enchanted or something? Natalie looked around the halls, but she didn't see where Derek went. Rolling her eyes, she gripped onto the handles of her backpack.
"God, I really hate werewolves," she grumbled as she stomped to the lacrosse field.
When she got there, Danny was lying on the ground with Coach Finstock and all of the other lacrosse players other than Scott and Stiles surrounding him. He was clutching onto his bloody nose and cringed in pain. Natalie looked over at her best friends. Stiles was flailing his arms as he talked to Scott, and then Scott rolled his eyes and walked away. The redhead jogged over to her boyfriend.
"Hey, where were you?" Stiles asked her.
"I kinda bumped into someone," Natalie told him. She pointed to her friend lying on the field. "What happened to Danny?"
"Scott couldn't keep his cool and he got too aggressive." He gestured to Danny. "And this was the result."
Natalie groaned. "Really? He couldn't go for Jackson instead? Everybody likes Danny!"
"Frankly, Scott doesn't care." Stiles then noticed something from the corner of his eye and looked down at Natalie's hand. "What the hell happened?"
"What?"
Stiles grabbed Natalie's injured hand and inspected the bruises starting to form. He lightly stroked it with his thumb but Natalie still winced. "Why's your hand swollen?"
"I punched a werewolf," Natalie said. Stiles raised an eyebrow. "Scott was being a dickhead so I decked him."
"What did he say?"
Here comes the hard part. Natalie looked down at her Converse like they were the most interesting thing she had ever seen. As she rubbed the back of her neck, she let out a sigh.
"He kissed me."
Stiles swore that he felt his heart drop to the pit of his stomach. "He what?"
"I know that it was the full moon getting to him," Natalie said, "He was making some stupid comments and then all of a sudden he grabbed me and kissed me. So I punched him in the face."
"That son of a…" Stiles bit his knuckle as he took in the information. It was easy to say that he was pissed. How dare Scott go off and kiss the girl he was in love with, especially when he was supposed to ask if she was ready for the next step in their relationship. Stiles looked down at Natalie, who was still staring at her shoes. "You didn't… you didn't kiss him back, did you?"
"What? No, of course not!" Cupping his face in her hands, Natalie brought his face down so he could look at her. "I like you, Stiles. Not Scott. And I would never deceive you like that." She kissed him reassuringly. Stiles wrapped his arms around her as he kissed her back. When their lips parted, he rested his forehead on hers.
"I trust you, Nat," he told her. He sighed and shook his head. "I'm gonna kill Scott."
"No you're not," Natalie said, "Let's just focus on making sure he doesn't get out of his room and attack people tonight. Hopefully by tomorrow, he will have forgotten everything that had happened and we can move on."
"Fine. Can we at least get something to eat first? I'm getting kinda hungry." Natalie laughed as she hugged her boyfriend tightly.
"Bilinski!" Coach Finstock yelled, "Stop canoodling with Henderson and get your ass back on the field!"
Natalie smirked. "You better get going, Bilinski," she teased. Stiles rolled his eyes and started to walk back to the field. But he stopped and turned around when he felt someone smack his rear. Natalie just whistled to herself as she walked over to the bleachers, making Stiles chuckle as he ran back to his teammates.
After practice, Stiles and Natalie drove over to the local Mexican restaurant to grab something to eat while they watched over Scott. Then Stiles had to make a quick stop to his house to grab a duffel bag full of chains. Why did he have chains in the first place? Natalie didn't want to know. They finally got to Scott's house and Stiles shut the door behind them.
"Scott?" they heard Melissa call out. She appeared from the hallway in her scrubs and the couple waved.
"Stiles." Said boy gestured to the redhead. "Natalie."
Melissa pointed to Stiles's hand. "Key!"
"Yeah, we both had one made," Natalie said, lifting up her own key, "Just in case, you know."
"That doesn't surprise me. It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me." The older McCall noticed Stiles's duffle bag. "What is that?"
The couple looked at each other. "Uh, school project," Stiles answered. Natalie nodded in agreement.
"Mmm," Melissa hummed, nodding her head. As they were about to go up to Scott's room, she stopped them. "Stiles, Natalie. He's okay, right?"
"Who, Scotty?" Natalie asked, "Yeah, of course he is. Why wouldn't he be?"
"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore," Melissa replied sadly, "Not like he used to…"
Just like how Natalie was with her dad, and the thought made her frown. With his free hand, Stiles held onto hers. "Well, he's had a bit of a rough week," he told Melissa.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Yeah, um…" She grabbed her purse and keys. "Okay, uh… be careful tonight."
"You too." The couple began to walk up the stairs.
"Full moon."
Both Stiles and Natalie's heads whipped around. Their eyes widened as they looked at Melissa. "What?"
"There's a full moon tonight," Melissa said, "You should see how the E.R. gets. Brings out all the nut jobs."
"Oh."
Yeah."
"Right."
"You know, it's, um, actually where they came up with the word 'lunatic'." She waved to the two and then walked out the door.
Natalie raised an eyebrow. "Huh. You learn something new every day."
Stiles shrugged his shoulders before leading Natalie up to Scott's room. The lights were off but the werewolf was sitting on his chair in the corner of the room with a dark look on his face. Both Stiles and Natalie yelped.
"Oh my god!" Stiles gasped, "Dude, you scared the hell outta me."
"I thought your mom said that you weren't home yet," Natalie said.
"I came in through the window," Scott told them.
"Okay," Stiles said, "Uh, well, let's get this set up." He dropped the duffel bag on the floor and started to unzip it. "I want you to see what I brought."
"I'm fine," Scott assured him, "I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight."
"You sure about that? 'Cause you got this kind of serial killer look going on in your eyes, and I'm hoping it's the full moon taking effect, 'cause it's really starting to freak me out."
"I'm fine. You should go now. Both of you."
Sighing, Natalie dropped to her knees and pulled the duffel bag closer to her. "At least just look at what we brought. You don't have to use it, but it's just an idea." She pulled out the chains.
The werewolf scoffed as he took the chains out of Natalie's hands. "You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog?"
"Well, not exactly."
Before he knew it, Scott was being handcuffed to the radiator. His eyes widened in horror and anger as he tried to yank his hand away.
"What the hell are you doing?!" he yelled.
"Protecting you from yourself and giving you some payback-" Stiles looked up with a glare, "for kissing Natalie."
In the kitchen, Natalie was writing on a yellow dog bowl with a sharpie while Stiles searched through the refrigerator. They had been watching over Scott for at least an hour so they finally decided to sit down and eat their food. Stiles grabbed a water bottle for Scott.
"Should we feel bad for doing this?" Natalie asked, "Don't get me wrong. I find this very amusing, but he can't really help what's happening to him right now."
"He deserves it," Stiles said, "I understand that he has no control, but I'm still pretty pissed about him kissing you like that. Any guy would be pissed if their best friend kissed their girlfriend."
"True, but is this part really necessary?" Natalie held up the dog bowl to show that she had written Scott's name on the side.
"Yes, because it's hilarious."
"Could you be more mature about this?"
"I could, but where's the fun in that?" Natalie rolled her eyes. Stiles picked up the dog bowl and kissed Natalie's cheek. "I'll be right back."
"I'll be right here!"
Stiles walked up to Scott's room, where the werewolf was still struggling against the handcuffs. "I brought you some water." The lanky teen uncapped the water bottle and poured it into the dog bowl. He set it in front of Scott.
"I'm gonna kill you!" he growled.
"You kissed her, Scott, okay?" Stiles said, "You kissed Natalie. That's my girlfriend and, like, the only girl I've ever loved." He sighed and shook his head. "And, you know, the past three hours, I've been think it's probably just the full moon, you know. He doesn't even know what he's doing, and tomorrow, he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won't even remember what a complete dumbass he's been. A son of a bitch. A freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend."
"She wanted me."
"What?"
"I could just tell she wanted me, too," Scott said sinisterly, "You should have seen the way she had her hands all over me." Without saying another word, Stiles walked out of the room and shut the door behind him. "She would have done anything I wanted. Anything!"
The lanky boy leaned against the door and slid down to the floor. He ran his hand over his buzz-cut as he let out a deep breath. Natalie came up the stairs and looked at her boyfriend worriedly.
"I heard Scott yelling," she said, "What's going on?"
"Nothing," Stiles said, "He was just being an asshole." But he wouldn't look back at her.
Natalie knelt in front of Stiles and placed her hands on his knees. That got him to finally make eye contact with her. "Stiles… talk to me."
After sighing, Stiles said, "While I know that Scott didn't mean it when he said that you wanted him, I couldn't… I couldn't help but feel insecure. I know it sounds stupid, but I still have to pinch myself every once in a while because it feels like you liking me back is too good to be true. You could do so much better than me. Why you decided to stick with me for all these years is well beyond me. But I couldn't be any happier and luckier that you did. I just… I love you, Nat."
For a few moments, Natalie remained silent, and it scared Stiles. This was when she was going to tell him that she didn't love him back. And he couldn't tell what she was thinking at all, which made it a lot worse.
"Do you really?" the redhead asked softly. When Stiles nodded, Natalie's lips curved up into a smile. "I love you, too."
She cupped his face and kissed him. Stiles hugged her body closer to his as she wrapped her arms around her neck. But even as the couple embraced each other, what was supposed to be a sweet moment was ruined when they heard Scott's cries in his bedroom.
"Stiles, Natalie, please let me out," he begged, "It's the full moon, I swear. You know I wouldn't do any of this on purpose. Please, you guys, let me out. It's starting to hurt. It's not like the first time. It's the full moon. It's Allison breaking up with me. I know… that it's not just taking a break. She broke up with me. And it's killing me. I feel completely hopeless. Just, please, let me out."
"I can't…" Stiles said softly, but he knew that Scott could hear him.
Then Scott started to scream. Hearing her best friend cry out like he was being tortured was too much for Natalie to bear. She buried her face in Stiles's neck and he just held her tightly when he felt her hot tears on his skin. It was painful for him too, but for the safety of others and Scott himself, Stiles couldn't do anything about it.
All of a sudden, the screaming stopped. Stiles and Natalie looked at each other in confusion.
"Scott, are you okay?" Stiles asked, "Scott?"
No response. The couple got up and went into Scott's room. Their hearts dropped when they saw the broken handcuffs and open window.
"Oh my god…" Natalie gasped. She grabbed Stiles's arm. "We're leaving. Like, right now."
They got into Stiles's jeep and he drove off as fast as he could. A half hour had passed but there was still no sign of Scott. When they drove by the preserve, they noticed an ambulance and police cars. Natalie started feeling sick to her stomach when she noticed that someone was lying on the gurney. Even though the person was covered, an officer's arm was dangling on the side.
"Stiles, pull over," Natalie said, "Pull over now!"
He noticed what she was looking at and his skidded to the side of the road. Natalie didn't even wait until the car was fully parked when she jumped out and ran over to the scene. Stiles followed behind her as he called out for his dad.
"Dad? Dad? Has anyone seen my- has anyone seen my dad?"
"I can't find mine either," Natalie said as she started to tear up, "Dad? Dad, where are you?"
"Stiles." Both teenagers turned around and saw John walking up to them. Stiles sighed in relief. "What are you two doing here?"
His son didn't answer. Instead he pulled him into a large hug. John was confused, but he hugged Stiles back and didn't bother to question him. They were just glad that the other was okay. The redhead didn't want to intrude their father/son moment so she continued to search for Kurt. But she couldn't find him anywhere and she was freaking out.
"Where are you?" she cried.
"Nat?" Said girl looked up to see Kurt step out of his police car. "Natalie, what's wrong? And do you have any idea how dangerous it is to be out here at night- oh!"
Natalie ran to her father and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm so sorry, Dad," she sobbed, "I promise I'll be a better daughter. I promise."
Kurt hushed her as he hugged his daughter. "Hey, it's okay. I'm just happy that you're safe. That's all I really care about."
So I really hope you guys enjoyed it! PLEASE review and let me know what you think! It'd be really awesome if I could finally reach 100 reviews, even though it's kind of a long stretch, but it's not impossible! So send some feedback so I can update sooner and we can finally get into season 2, which is when 'No One Else' starts! I'm super excited!
Also if you haven't, PLEASE go check out my IsaacxOC story 'Scars' and leave some feedback! So I know that Daniel Sharman (Isaac) is now in the show The Originals and so is Danielle Campbell, who is Delilah's face claim. I've never seen the show, but the other day I looked up Daniel in The Originals on YouTube, and holy shit! Daniel and Danielle are, like, kind of a thing on that show! I got so freakin' excited. It was seriously meant to be! So yeah... Isaac and Delilah for the win :P
I decided to change Anabelle's face claim one last time because I figured Nikki Reed would be a perfect fit for the character, so I update my profile and some of the other chapters in the story that describe Anabelle. I hope you guys like this switch because I really do!
I'll be sure to update soon! xoxo, Maddie :)
