VISERYS AND DAENARYS

PART 1. THE BEGGAR KING

VISERYS

To be born a Prince is to have greatness expected of that person and no one felt it more than Viserys Targaryen. At the age of seven his world was turned upside down by the rebellion. His father, brother, goodsister, niece, and nephew were all killed. His mother Queen Rhaella died giving birth to his baby sister. With a few loyal servants and guards, Viserys fled the Red Keep to Dragonstone, where his sister Daenarys was born.

Soon after his sister was born, they had to flee Dragonstone and sailed on a ship to Braavos. To avoid their pursuers Ser Willem Darry sent several ships out all baring the Targaryen royal sigil and disguised his ship as a merchant ship. This allowed them to slip pass the Baratheon and Arryn fleets to sail North to Braavos.

Upon arriving in Braavos Ser Willem bought a small house with a red door. Viserys had complained that a Prince should not live like a commoner, but Willem advised being inconspicuous. To prepare for the future and revenge, Viserys trained, but he was an impatient, arrogant, delusional, and ill-tempered boy. Once he struck a servant, she left and over the years many others followed secretly whispering that he is his father's son.

The only man who could handle Viserys is Ser Willem, but he was getting older and died after Daenarys made her tenth name day. Viserys was ten and seven, so he decided to go to the Iron Bank for a loan to buy an army. His name got him in, but his promises and arrogance got him kicked out. Upon returning home he found a letter warning him to leave Braavos.

With the little coin Viserys had left he bought passage on a ship to Lorath. Once again his family name opened up doors to him. Viserys and Dany are invited into the home of the High Master of Lorath Oron ne Laxon. Viserys was an upstanding Prince at first making promises to the High Master for his financial and military support to build an army.

Laxon made promises as well, holding feasts in Viserys' name. But as time passed Viserys became impatient with Laxon and at a feast Viserys insults Laxon and his guests. Laxon has his guards escort Viserys and his sister out of the main hall. The next day they were made to leave Laxon's home. The servants took pity on Daenarys and gave her some food and coin.

Viserys took the coin and rented a room in the inn for him and his sister. They stayed for five days, then one night a letter is slipped under the door warning them to leave. Viserys grabs his sister and exits the inn by the server's door. They had been instructed to take a winding route to the docks. They were met by a Captain and told that their passage had been paid for by a mysterious benefactor. The Captain said he would sail them anywhere they wish to go.

"Take us to Pentos Captain." Viserys commands after looking at a map.

"I was instructed to sail you anywhere, but to Pentos."

"Why?"

"Danger awaits you in Pentos your grace."

"Fine to Myr then."

As the Captain leaves Dany speaks up, "Viserys…Why can't we go home? Back to Braavos."

"We are being hunted little sister. Hunted by the Stag's assassins. He wishes us dead and we must keep moving."

"Who do you think paid the Captain?"

"An ally who doesn't wish to make himself known to us…Yet." Sometimes he is patient with his sister and other times he is not. Viserys is responsible for teaching Dany her Targaryen heritage. He is also responsible for teaching her to read and write, how to be a Princess and such. During the voyage Viserys became angry and struck her in the presence of the Captain's men. The Captain did not like that and kept her away from him, which angered Viserys.

"I am Viserys of House Targaryen! The rightful King of the Andels and the first men and I demand that you let me see my sister"

"I am Captain of this ship…I rule here! And as long as you aboard my ship, you will do as I command!"

In a huff Viserys walks away. No one had ever spoken to him like that. When they reach Myr he disembarks with his sister. As she walks down the plank he eyes the Captain in anger. "I'm sorry Viserys. Please do not be angry."

"All we have is each other Dany. We can't let anyone or anything come between us."

"Okay." She shyly replies.

Viserys takes her to an inn to eat and rest. The next day they head to palace of Masters. As usual their name gets them through the door. They are greeted by the Lord Master of Myr Koban me' Klau. Koban has six children, among them a young daughter the same age as Dany whom she immediately befriends. Viserys lays out his plan for the future with promises to pay Koban back for his help.

Koban promises his help and asks Viserys to stay as his guest. A few weeks later Koban throws a feast inviting the nobles of Myr. A few days after the feast Koban speaks with Viserys in private. "My eldest daughter Lady Keelah Klau…If you marry her I will give help you take the Iron Throne."

"I can't marry your daughter. I will need allies in Westeros. I will need to marry a daughter of Westeros."

"I'm sorry but that is the price of my help."

Viserys leaves in anger, outraged that Koban would think that he would marry his daughter. From Myr they travel to Tyrosh gaining entrance into the manor of Count Velham of Tyrosh. As they enter Viserys and his sister are being watched.

STRONG BELWAS

"Now what do we do?" A man of ebony skin asks to his leader Strong Belwas.

Belwas was once a pit fighter in Meereen. He won his freedom and came into the service of Ilyrio Mopatis Magister of Pentos. Belwas had a gift for tracking people and finding them. He had been tracking the Targaryens since they left Lorath. He arriving two weeks after they left.

"We wait…If the Prince follows his usual habits he will annoy his host or get impatient and leave. Then we approach them."

PART 2. DAENARYS

She hated traveling and wished to go back to their home in Braavos. But Daenarys knew better than to complain or offer advice, least she wake the Dragon and be punished. Most of the time the Noble Ladies or the servants would take pity on Dany and give her clothes, food, and gold. Of course her brother would take the gold if he found out. Once she got the courage to hide it from him. When Viserys found out he was not happy and beat her.

When she met Koban's daughter, Dany and Chyna became quick friends. They would play hide and seek, race one another, and Chyna teaches Dany to play cyvasse or the basics of the game. But her time with Chyna is cut short by her brother's arrogance. "Viz, why are we leaving? Is it the assassins again?"

"No! Now be quiet! Enough Questions." For the next eight years she follows him in silent anger. She hates the way he treats her, the way Viserys speaks to her. And every time it happened, the anger got stronger. They travel from Tyrosh to Lys, from Lys to Volantis and then Mantarys. It is in Tolos, a few blocks from the docks that their path is blocked by ten men in red robes. "Make way!" Viserys commands.

"We don't want you or your weak Dragon blood."

"Viserys." Dany fearfully says as he draws his sword. The Priests laugh at him.

"Your stance is amateur at best. I could kill you in two moves boy. Five if I felt like toying with you."

"Who are you?" Dany boldly asks.

"We are known as the Fiery Hand, servants of R'hllor, the one true god. Come with us Princess and we will spare your brother's life."

"I'll see you all dead" Viserys boldly says.

Dany gasps as a wall of blue fire bursts up and surrounds both her and Viserys, who falls to his butt, when the fire appears. "Blue flames." The Leader says as an arrow flies pass him and kills one of his men. He leans to the side as an second arrow almost strikes him in the neck. The Priest reaches his hand out and catches the arrow. "Valyrian Steel." He says examining the arrow head.

"Up there!" One of his men yells pointing. The man twirls his spear and throws it.

"No" The leader yells as the spear flies at the black garbed man on the roof of a building.

The attacker is dressed in black armor with a masked helm. Dany smiles at the red three headed Dragon on his breastplate. He points his hand at the spear and it burns to ash before her eyes. "I'll get the girl." Another man says.

"No wait!" The Leader yells, but it is too late. The man's ruby on his amulet glows red, but when he touches the flames the ruby turns blue and the man freezes into solid ice.

The man on the roof runs leaps and lands in the circle of blue fire. "Who are you?" Viserys asks.

"No time for that! Take my hand!" They do and are consumed by the flames. When fire dies out they are gone.

When the light fades and the flames extinguish, Dany's clothes had been burned away. So had Viserys' clothes, she was about to ask a question after getting dressed, when men dressed in Targaryen servant clothes burst in and grab Viserys. "Let me go! I command you to release me!" He says as they tie him to a chair.

"Please don't hurt my brother." Dany begs.

The Masked man looks at her, "I'd no more harm him than myself or you." He replies. "Hold his mouth open." He commands.

Dany watches as the mysterious man pours a blue liquid down Viserys' throat. "Leave us." He commands.

"What was that?" Dany asks after Viserys falls asleep.

"Something to take away the madness." He replies removing his masked helm.

"Who are you?"

"After your brother awakens. I do not wish to repeat myself."

Viserys awakens an hour later. He looks at the unidentified man. "Thank you."

He nods, "You're welcome." After Viserys is released from his bonds, he walks up to her.

He grabs her in a hug, "Dany…please forgive me. Forgive me for every threat, hit, and bad word, that I ever said and done to you." She can hear the regret in his voice. Then he releases her and drops to his knees with tears running down his face. "Can you forgive me?"

"Viz…get up. Of course I forgive you." He hugs her again and then they look at their benefactor.

"Who are you?" Viserys asks.

"My name is Jaehaerys Targaryen…My father was Prince Rhaegar, my mother Lyanna Targaryen nee' Stark. My brother did not kidnap or rape Lyanna."

"I know that."

"Where are we?"

They follow him outside onto the balcony and stair in disbelief at the rebuilt ruins of Old Valyira. "How is this possible?" Viserys asks.

"Through fire and blood, uncle." Daenarys and Viserys are taken on a tour of the palace. Then Jaehaerys takes them to meet Jon Connington. As they walk, he tells them of his plans for the future of House Targaryen. "I must leave I am needed back in Westeros." He hugs them and vaishes in a ball of fire.
