Welcome to Day 13: Eating Ice Cream.
The sun was beating down across Royal Woods today.
It was going to be 87 degrees, but with the humidity, it was going to feel like 94 degrees, which was going to be a problem for many people in the town.
Lincoln and Stella were napping under a shady tree in the park.
The Royal Woods School District was not taking any chances with the potential heat today, so every school in town was let out.
"My double goodness," Stella said. "I can't believe this heatwave is gonna last all weekend".
Lincoln was in total agreement.
"I know," he said. "Luckily, this shady tree is just what we needed for our time here in the park".
Neither Lincoln nor Stella didn't realize that they have been napping in the shady spot for almost an hour. That was when Chloe came over with Clyde McBride.
"Hey guys," Clyde said.
"Hello there," Chloe said.
"Hey buddy," Lincoln said.
"Hey Chloe," Stella said.
Clyde and Chloe wanted to know what they were doing.
"We were gonna go on another date, but it's too hot," Stella said.
"I see," Chloe said. "I was taking Clyde over to my house. Wanna come?"
"I don't mind," Lincoln said.
"Whatever gets us out of the heat," Stella said.
With that, the 4 of them headed over to Chloe's house.
On the way over there, Chloe asked, "ever heard of a blueberry flavored ice cream?"
"I have," Stella said. "One of a kind taste".
Chloe then said, "well, there's a new sugar free, mixed berry flavor that's trending right now".
"We should get some," Clyde said.
Chloe then commented, "my mom has plenty at our house".
"I can hardly wait," Lincoln said.
While the 4 of them were streaming a movie using Lincoln's phone over at Chloe's house, they were enjoying some ice cream.
"I never heard of a mixed berry ice cream flavor," Chloe said.
"What can I say?" Chloe's mom commented. "I love berries. By the way, glad you decided to seek shelter by coming over. That heat outside is gonna drive the whole town crazy."
"Not a problem for us," Clyde said. "This strawberry ice cream is super sweet."
A half hour later, it was starting to feel a little hotter outside.
"Man," Chloe said. "How long is this heatwave going to last?"
"It should be over tomorrow," Clyde said to the others. "But, how come we're eating ice cream in the dark?"
Chloe's mom answered, "My family is trying to save some electricity. Although, I am curious about what this is."
Stella answered, "that generator operates the air conditioning and televisions."
Chloe's mom asked Stella if it was on. A shock came on Stella's face.
"Nuts," she said. "Lincoln, can you please hit that button?"
"The green one?" Lincoln asked.
Stella said yes, so he hit it. Just like that, the air conditioning and television came on. Smiles went flying everywhere.
"Way to go bro," Clyde said.
"This day just keeps getting better," Stella commented.
The whole house was becoming air conditioned. They were all loving it.
"I'll go put the leftover ice cream away," Chloe's mom said.
She went to do just that.
A short time later, the movie progressed on, but this time, the gang was able to stream it on the TV.
"So," Lincoln started. "How are things coming along between the two of you?"
"Going great," Clyde answered. "Chloe and I went out on a pizza date. I love a cheesy meal".
"More like you yourself is cheesy," Chloe commented.
Everyone couldn't help but giggle at what Chloe said. The 4 of them decided to take a little break and head up to Chloe's room. Up in Chloe's room, they were eating some of the ice cream Chloe's mom put away earlier.
"I got to ask," Lincoln said. "After that dance, Chloe, did you and Girl Jordan hang out more?"
"We did," Chloe answered while munching on ice cream. "I had her, Emma and Stella over for a girls afternoon".
"I remember that day," Stella said. "We were shaking our booties to Destiny's Child".
She then showed Lincoln and Clyde a picture.
"Now I get what they mean by bootylicious," Lincoln commented.
The 4 of them couldn't laugh again.
"How about I turn on that song?" Chloe asked.
The others agreed, so Chloe got that song going. Chloe and Stella were having loads of fun.
"You go girls," Clyde cheered.
"Shake what your mamas gave ya, girls!" Lincoln cheered.
"You should be joining in on this," the girls said.
The boys did, and started shaking their booties.
"That's right!" Stela said.
The 4 of them went back to their ice cream when the song ended.
"That was a fun song," Lincoln said.
"I knew you'd like it," Stella said.
The 4 of them then kissed each other, getting ice cream all over their lips. However, none of them seemed to mind.
