THE RED PRIEST

Thoros of Myr, is often referred to as the Red Priest. He was born the eighth son to his father. As the youngest he was given to the temple of R'hllor and trained as a Priest. When the order broke into two factions, Thoros followed Melisandre. Many years later Thoros was sent to Westeros to try and convert King Robert.

Thoros ingratiated himself into Robert's court and became a friend to him. But it was Thoros who became influenced by the King. For a time he forsook his vows and became a drunken whoring Priest. He fought beside Robert in the Greyjoy rebellion, gaining fame with his flaming sword. During the battle Thoros came upon a Baratheon soldier trying to rape a young woman of ten and five days old.

He killed the man and gave emotional comfort to the girl. Because of him she became his acolyte forsaking the drowned god and following him. "Anya…why do you follow me? Why did you leave the Iron Isles?"

"I follow you, because you save me an Iron Islander from being raped. I was taught the Iron Born way, but it was not my god or my people that came to my rescue…It was you. As a Priest of your god is that not what we are supposed to do on our god's behalf? Defend those who cannot defend themselves? Are we not to help where we can? Tell me why did you save me from the rapper?"

Her questions bought him back to his earlier teachings before he sided with Melisandre. After some inner reflection Thoros turned from Melisandre's teachings to the true path R'hllor. He formed the brotherhood without banners. The brotherhood fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. The brotherhood has secret bases all over Westeros, but their main base of operations is in the Riverlands.

One day Arlane returns with his scouts and a prisoner, "Thoros…we found this woman. She says she knows you."

"Lady Kinvara…Have you come to kill me?"

"No."

"How did you find me?"

"R'hllor led me to you. I came to warn you. Melisandre is here in Westeros. Right Now she is on Dragonstone."

"Why is she here?"

"She came because of the Masked Dragon. He is the Prince that was Promised…I met him and spoke with him."

"Truly?"

"Yes and if I can find you Melisandre can as well. Your men will find safety North Lord Eddard Stark will allow you and your men to take refuge in Moat Cailin."

"Why would Stark help us? Did he convert?"

"No."

Reluctantly, Thoros and his men travel North and are met by Lord Eddard Stark at the castle. A few days later they meet the Prince and pledge their loyalty to him. A week later Jaehaerys takes Thoros to see his Dragon. The Dragon is kept in cave beneath Winterfell. It is as big as a horse. They bring the Dragon food, but it prefers to hunt and leaves the cave at night.

MOPATIS

Mopatis sails to Myr to hire the Golden Company. He meets with Harry Strickland in his mansion. "Ilyrio Mopatis…Magister of Pentos…I heard that you are the richest man in the world."

He smiles taking a drink from the offered goblet. "You heard correctly. I have come to hire the Golden Company…Whatever your usual fee is…I will triple it."

"Who are we going to war with?"

"It is an intricate plan…And in addition to the gold I will pay you, there will be other benefits." After laying out his plan Mopatis heads to his ship and sails for Mopatis Island. When he arrives Aegon is practicing his jousting. He had foreseen the tourney to celebrate the betrothal of Prince Joffrey to Sansa Stark. That would be the perfect time for Aegon to win the hearts of the people by winning the tournament and gaining allies against King Robert. He can also use the tourney to out Queen Cersei's secret.

The revelation would drag Westeros into civil war, then Aegon could sweep in and clean up the mess. The only thing that worried Mopatis is the Masked Dragon and the game he is playing. After Aegon finishes his ride he dismounts his horse and walks over to Mopatis. "Magister…did you see?"

With all his heart Mopatis wants to call him son, "Yes I saw my…Prince." He replies keeping his emotions at bay.

"Magister are you alright?"

"Fine I'm…fine…I came with news. We have the Golden Company."

"Excellent…My throne and revenge are at hand." Later they dine together. Mopatis stays the night and leaves the next morning, after going with Aegon to the Dragon pit.

AEGON

Aegon rides his horse to the Dragon pit while Mopatis rides in a carriage. When they arrive the men are lowering live cattle into the pit, by pully. Fire belches from the pit ending the terror of the three cows. Aegon and Mopatis stand on a wooden platform overlooking the pit. "They're getting bigger." Mopatis says.

"Yes…soon I will ride, Ellygar." He says referring to the red Dragon. After a while they head to the docks and Aegon returns to the mansion.
