Hau's Trial
Hau sat on the steps of his home in Iki Town, his head buried in his hands while Decidueye and Raichu patted his shoulder and gave him comforting cries. "Tapu Koko just had to choose me of all people to be my grandfather's successor, don't get me wrong I'm honored and grateful that Tapu Koko thought me worthy of the title it's just that I haven't the slightest idea which type specialty to choose! Every Kahuna before me has chosen a type to specialize in, Hala chose Fighting, Olivia chose Rock, Nanu chose Dark, Hapu chose Ground, Guzma chose Bug and Kiawe chose Fire while I've had a diverse selection of Pokemon since I first became a Pokemon trainer. If I choose Grass or Ghost, that means I can't battle with you anymore." Hau frowned as he glanced towards Raichu. "And if I choose Electric or Psychic, that means that I can't use you."
"Hoot..." Decidueye lowered his beak towards the ground.
"Ugh, it's so frustrating! Why must I make a choice?!" Hau let out a frustrated shout while lightly pulling his hair. Hala quietly watched his grandson from within his hut, a sympathetic expression present upon his face. The answer was a simple and obvious one but it was something that Hau would have to figure out on his own without his guidance if he hoped to succeed Hala as the Melemele Island Kahuna!
"Alright Incineroar, the Z-Ring's fully charged so let's try this one more time!" Ash activated the red Z-Crystal and began moving in synch with Incineroar as they tested out Incineroar's new Z-Move once more. As soon as the sun rose after his victory over Kiawe, the pair were hard at work on perfecting the move to ensure that it was ready for the coming battle against Hau.
Marnie quietly watched the pair practice from the sideline before jumping up as her Rotom Phone began ringing, she quickly reached into her jacket to retrieve it before answering. "Hello?"
"Hey Marnie, you've got to see this! Dawn and I returned to the beach, the same one that Buzzwole appeared at yesterday, only to come across an odd sight." Zach spoke into his Arc Phone while his gaze locked onto the nearby ocean where an Alolan Muk could be seen swimming in the same area that Chad dumped the toxic waste a few hours ago. "An Alolan Muk appeared in the ocean and appears to be feasting on some garbage, I know you've been wanting to catch one so I thought I'd give you a heads up."
Marnie's eyes lit up as she heard her friend mention the sighting of an Alolan Muk. "I'll be right there! Ash, I'll be back in a few! Don't head to Iki Town without me." She called out to her boyfriend while reaching for the ball that contained her Hisuian Braviary and within a few minutes, she was soaring through the Alolan sky atop Braviary's back as the two parted Melemele Island and headed towards Akala Island. It didn't take long to find the right beach, though it lacked distinct landmarks the sight of alpha Garchomp was hard to miss!
"Brav!" Braviary screeched out as she swooped towards the ground. Garchomp jerked his head up at the cry of a Pokemon before flashing a light smirk upon seeing Braviary.
"Gar..." Garchomp greeted them with a light growl as Braviary landed on the ground.
"Brav!" Braviary screeched while Marnie was quick to leap off her back before bolting towards the ocean.
"I-I didn't think that Muk would be that far out..." Marnie sweated upon realizing that Muk was a good thirty feet away from the coast. "I really need ta find a Sharpedo."
"You can borrow Empoleon if you want, he's right there." Zach thumbed towards Empoleon who could be seen standing in the middle of the beach with a cool yet prideful expression.
Marnie shot her friend an appreciative look. "Thank you, I appreciate that."
"Don't mention it. Empoleon!" Empoleon turned his head as he heard his trainer call out to him.
"Empo?"
"Do you mind giving Marnie a lift out to the water? She'd like to battle that Muk."
"Po!" Empoleon gave a swift nod and flopped onto his belly before sliding towards the ocean. Marnie checked her belt to ensure she had the right Pokemon with her before hopping onto Empoleon's back, Empoleon then let out a cry before blasting off over the water surface until coming to a quick halt upon reaching Muk's position. Marnie patiently waited for Muk to finish eating the waste, as she was cleaning the water, before throwing a ball forward to release her choice in Pokemon.
"Murkrow use Thunder Wave!"
"Krow, Murkrow!" Murkrow cawed out as light rings of electricity released from his mouth and flew towards Muk causing sparks of electricity to briefly appear on Muk's body as she became paralyzed. Muk uttered out a light grunt and began charging up a pulse of dark energy before her body became completely engulfed in electricity as just the few sparks that came from paralysis were enough to electrocute her!
"M-Muk!"
Marnie was quick to reach for an empty Dusk Ball and chucked it at Muk before any harm could be dealt to other nearby Pokemon, the ball opened up as it made it's approach with a bright red light soon engulfing Muk's body as she disappeared into the ball. Empoleon swiftly lashed out and caught the Dusk Ball with his flipper before it could sink beneath the water surface, holding it in place as the ball shook back and forth before it eventually chimed out to announce the capture complete!
"Alright, we just caught ourselves a Muk!" Marnie excitedly exclaimed as she leaped into the air.
"Murkrow, krow!"
"Morpek!" Morpeko cheered alongside Marnie as she poked out of her jacket.
After returning Empoleon to his trainer, Marnie hopped back aboard Braviary and returned to Melemele Island where Ash could be seen waiting for her. Having perfected Incineroar's Z-Move, he was ready to take on Hau!
"Did you catch it?" Ash questioned with a light tilt of his head.
"That I did!" Marnie smirked while holding up the Dusk Ball that contained her Alolan partner. "Ya ready ta take on Hau then?"
"Of course, Pikachu and I have been waiting for this!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raised a clenched fist with an eager expression as he was ready to prove himself against his Alolan cousin. He'd yet to engage in a proper battle with an Alolan Raichu up to this point and he was eager to change that, he wanted to prove that he was stronger than any Raichu out there and he couldn't say that if he never beat Raichu's Alolan counterpart!
"Well then what are we waiting for? Let's get going!"
Upon arrival in Iki Town, Ash and Marnie took notice of a large crowd that stood in the town's center and upon closer inspection they'd realize that most of the villagers had arrived to watch and support Hau in his match against Ash and could be heard uttering various cries of cheers and encouragement for the younger trainer.
"Go Hau, you can do it!"
"We love you, Hau!"
Ash sweated at the sight before excusing himself as he and Marnie pushed their way through the crowd to find Hau who could be seen waiting for them at Iki Town's battlefield. A fairly large smile appeared on Hau's face upon spotting Ash and offered him a quick wave.
"Hey Ash, it's good to see you again! I heard that you got married too?!" Ash and Marnie's cheeks burned a bright shade of red as they slowly glanced towards each other. Sweat began pouring down Ash's face as he thought back to his own history of being dense.
'Was I that dense?!' He thought to himself before quickly shaking his head as he snapped back to reality. "N-No, we're not married! We're just boyfriend and girlfriend at the moment!"
"Yeah, it's way too soon to get married!" Marnie sweated. Though that didn't mean she didn't think about it!
"Huh?" Hau blinked with a visibly confused expression before quickly shrugging it off. "Eh, whatever. You ready for our battle, Ash?! I can't wait to prove myself by beating you! I've gotten even stronger since our last battle!"
"I've gotten stronger as well, I've captured plenty of new Pokemon, evolved some of my older ones and even reunited with some old friends!"
"Pi Pikachu!"
"Really?! Heh, sounds like you had quite the fun time!" Hau grinned before motioning excitedly towards the waiting Rotom Drone that levitated on the battlefield's sideline. "Well I've already got everything set up for our battle so how about we get started? I'm raring to get started!" He hoped that the battle would help him come to a decision on what he was going to do.
"Of course we can get started, let's go!" Ash excitedly raced towards the opposite side of the field while Hau remained in place with an excited look.
Marnie walked towards the sideline and felt very awkward being the only one there cheering Ash on as she was surrounded by Hau's fans, she was about to go and stand by Ash's side as it became too much for her to bear but thankfully the moment became significantly less awkward as Lillie, Lana, Sophocles, Kiawe and Mallow arrived. The group flashed Marnie a comforting smile before turning their gaze towards the battlefield as the Rotom Drone began to speak up.
"Bzzzt! Greetings Challengers Ash Ketchum and Hau! This battle will consist of a four on four matchup and both trainers are permitted to switch their Pokemon out at any time, Challengers are you ready to begin?"
"Yes!" Hau excitedly exclaimed.
"You know it!"
"Pi Pikachu!"
"Bzzzt! Then let the battle begin!"
"Golisopod, I choose you!"
"Noivern, let's go!"
"Goliso!" Golisopod grunted out as he burst from his ball.
"NOI!" Noivern screeched.
"Use Hurricane!" Hau cried out.
"Noi!" Noivern began rapidly flapping his wings, summoning up a powerful gust of wind that swooped Golisopod up and tossed him about the air above the battlefield!
"Counter with Blizzard!"
"Pod!" Golisopod spread out his arms as a fierce cold wind suddenly spread across the field, overpowering Noivern's own attack before the dragon found himself getting pelted by snow and ice! Noivern shook and shivered from the cold sensation before screeching out as he delivered Golisopod a harsh glare.
"Boomburst!" Hau shouted out while leaping up into the air.
"Noi!" Noivern's ears glowed a bright white color before powerful waves of sound blasted out of them and shot across the field! Golisopod grunted out as he found himself getting pushed back by the attack.
"Golisopod use Razor Shell!" Light blue aura formed around Golisopod's claws as he shot across the field, his arm raised up as he prepared to strike before slashing his claws across Noivern's chest!
"Noi!" Noivern let out a pained screech as Hau gritted his teeth.
"Dragon Pulse!"
"Sucker Punch!" As Noivern began charging up the blue-green pulse, Golisopod swiftly moved across the field before slashing Noivern's back! Noivern let out one last pained screech before collapsing face first against the battlefield as swirls formed within his eyes.
"Bzzzt! Noivern is unable to continue battling, Challenger Hau please send out your next Pokemon!"
"Noivern return!"
"Good work Golisopod, that was amazing!"
"Pika pi!"
"Golisopod!" Golisopod beamed at Ash and Pikachu's praise before turning back towards Hau as he sent out his next Pokemon.
"Raichu let's go!"
"Rai rai!" Raichu burst from his ball before levitating in front of his trainer as his gaze locked onto Golisopod.
"Thunderbolt!"
"Sucker Punch!" Ash swiftly called out.
"Rai!" Raichu's cheeks crackled and sparked before unleashing a bolt of electricity which swiftly shot across the field and struck Golisopod before he could make contact with Raichu!
"G-Golisopod!" Golisopod cried out as electricity surged through his body before shortly falling to his back as swirls formed within his eyes. "Pod..."
"Bzzzt. Golisopod is unable to battle, Challenger Ash please send out your next Pokemon!"
"Golisopod return, you were great out there and deserve a rest." Ash placed the ball back upon his belt before swiftly reaching for another. "Alright Sneasler I choose you!"
"Sneasler...?" Hau gave a light tilt of his head before jumping back as Sneasler burst from his ball.
"Sneasler!" The Hisuian evolution of Sneasel cried out.
"Whoa!" Kiawe gasped out.
"I-I've never seen that Pokemon in any of my books!" Lillie gasped out.
"It kind of looks like Sneasel." Sophocles spoke up. "Maybe it's an evolution of a regional variant?"
"That's right, Sneasel is the evolved form of a Sneasel that could be seen in Sinnoh's mountain ranges in ancient times. There could be more out there but far as we know, Ash's Sneasler is probably the only one left." Marnie explained.
Hau froze up before swiftly returning Raichu to his ball. "Come back for now, Vaporeon let's do this!"
"Vapor!" A purple Vaporeon cried out as she burst onto the battlefield.
"Hydro Pump!"
"Vapor!" A powerful geyser of water erupted from Vaporeon's mouth and shot across the field, splashing Sneasler upon impact! A crossed expression formed across Sneasler's face as he shook the water from his fur.
"Sneasler..."
"Close Combat!"
"Sneaseler!" Sneasler shot across the field and rapidly punching Vaporeon before swiftly leaping away as he returned to his position on the opposite side of the battlefield.
"Dig underground!"
"Vapor!" Vaporeon began rapidly digging at the battlefield and soon disappeared from view as she began burrowing beneath the ground. Ash clenched his fists but kept a calm head.
"Alright Sneasler, I want you to concentrate and when she pops up strike with Dire Claw!"
"Snease!" Sneasler closed his eyes as he began concentrating on the movement happening beneath his feet. His eyes shot open as he swiftly lashed out with his claws, which were now glowing a venomous shade of purple, striking Vaporeon's stomach right as she made contact with him! Both Pokemon grunted out as they hit the floor before slowly raising back to their feet while staring each other down.
"Aurora Beam!"
"Vapor!" A bright multicolored energy beam shot from Vaporeon's mouth and struck Sneasler directly in the chest causing the Hisuian Pokemon to drop to his knees as he lost his breath.
"S-Sneasler..."
"Sneasler, are you okay?!"
"S-Sneasler..." Sneasler gave Ash a quick glance before swiftly nodding as he rose back to his feet.
"Alright then hit them with Poison Jab!"
"Sneasler!" The tip of Sneasler's paw glowed a bright purple color as he dashed across the field before jabbing his opponent's back!
"V-Vaporeon!" Vaporeon's expression matched that of Brock's own whenever Croagunk struck him, her face turned a bright purple color before she collapsed to her side. Swirls filled her eyes as she lost consciousness.
"Bzzt! Vaporeon is unable to continue battling, Challenger Hau please send out your next Pokemon!"
"Way to go Sneasler!"
"Pi Pikachu!"
Sneasler flashed the two a smirk before his eyes rolled upwards. "Snease..." The Hisuian Pokemon soon hit the floor, swirls filled his eyes as exhaustion had taken it's toll on him.
"Bzzt! Sneasler is unable to continue battling, Challenger Ash please send out your next Pokemon!"
"Decidueye, I need you!"
"Incineroar I choose you!"
"Incineroar!"
"Hoot!" The two fully evolved Alolan starters stared each other down as they awaited their trainer's commands.
"Flare Blitz!" Incineroar's body became floaked in fire as he charged headfirst at his opponent!
"Dodge with Phantom Force!"
"Hoot!" A purple portal formed beneath Decidueye as he sank into the ground, disappearing from view as Incineroar came charging towards him. Another portal opened up behind Incineroar as Decidueye primed up a shot before shooting an arrow quill into Incineroar's back causing the tiger to let out an enraged roar!
Ash scratched the side of his cheek in a thoughtful manner as he realized that Hau was using the exact tactic that he was using with his own Decidueye. He quickly thought it over before coming to a solution! "Darkest Lariat!"
"Incineroar!" Incineroar spread out his arms and began rapidly spinning around as dark energy formed around his hands before spreading all around him as he spun in place. Incineroar then took off towards Decidueye only for Hau to pull the same trick as before.
"Dodge with Phantom Force!"
"Hoot!"
Ash flashed a light smirk as he realized Hau had fallen into his trap. "Reverse your attack!"
"Roar!" Incineroar began spinning counterclockwise and shot back towards where he'd previously been standing.
"Oh no, Decidueye!" Hau gasped out as he saw Decidueye rising from the ground directly in front of Incineroar!
"Hooot?!" Decidueye gasped before crying out as he was flung across the battlefield! Decidueye collapsed onto his side before raising back to his feet as he leered at Incineroar. "Hoot..."
"Let's see how you counter this, Spirit Shackle!"
"Hoot!" Decidueye withdrew an arrow quill and began taking aim at his opponent while a shadowy aura formed around the quill. Decidueye then fired off the arrow which flew through the air before piercing Incineroar's shadow, trapping the tiger in place as he found himself unable to move from his current position on the battlefield!
"I-Incineroar!"
Ash lightly clenched his fists as he tried thinking of a solution before it came to him, there was one thing that Incineroar could do without fail and luckily for them they'd mastered the technique earlier that day! Ash reached for his Z-Power Ring before activating the red crystal that was embedded into it, a light glow surrounded Incineroar as he and Ash began moving in synch with one another.
"Malicious Moonsault!"
"Incineroar!" Incineroar's body was surrounded by fire as he leaped up into the air before quickly landing chest first against his opponent, knocking Decidueye to the ground as a big fiery explosion engulfed the area! Dust, dirt and pebbles flew through the air, temporarily obscuring the view before it all faded away to reveal Incineroar beating his chest with a celebratory expression while Decidueye laid unconscious beside his feet.
"Hoot..."
"Bzzzt! Decidueye is unable to continue battling, Challenger Hau please send out your final Pokemon!"
"Decidueye return." Hau couldn't help but frown as he wasn't getting any inspiration from this so far. "Raichu, let's end this!"
"Rai rai!" The Alolan Raichu burst back out while gazing across the field with a relaxed expression.
"Pika..." Pikachu's tail twitched at the sight of Raichu. Ash gave his best friend a look before looking back towards Incineroar.
"Incineroar, you mind sitting this one out?"
Incineroar gazed towards Pikachu and formed a light smirk before giving the pair a thumbs up. "Roar!"
Ash flashed Incineroar an appreciative look as he reached for his ball. "Then rest up, you deserve it!"
"Pika pi!" Pikachu cried as he leaped from Ash's shoulder and took position on the battlefield.
"Psychic!"
"Rai rai!" Raichu's eyes glowed a bright blue color as a similar color surrounded Pikachu, lifting the yellow mouse up into the air before slamming him hard against the battlefield floor!
"Pika!" Pikachu uttered out a pained grunt before raising back to his feet.
"Use Surf!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raised up his arms as a massive wave of water formed beneath his body. A surfboard magically appeared beneath Pikachu's feet as he rode the top of the wave. "Pika!"
"What?!"
"Rai?!" It appeared as if Hau's Raichu wasn't a surfer like Zach's was as both Hau and him were just as shocked to see Pikachu riding atop a wave before the wave came crashing down on top of Raichu, knocking him right off his feet! "Rai..." Raichu groaned out as he slowly got back up.
Hau gritted his teeth before hastily reaching for his own Z-Power Ring to activate a yellow crystal that was embedded into it. An electrical glow began to surround Raichu's body as the pair began moving in synch with each other. Ash narrowed his eyes as he tried figuring out which Z-Move they were using, the crystal resembled Electrium Z but the stance was wrong.
Lillie noticed Ash's confusion and was quick to speak up. "That's Aloraichium Z, Alola Raichu's signature Z-Crystal!"
"Huh? Professor Kukui never showed that to us!" Ash exclaimed.
"Well then allow us the honors of showing it off!" Hau exclaimed with a smirk while the yellow electrical glow that surrounded Raichu's body intensified! "Stoked Sparksurfer!"
"Rai!" Raichu blasted off into the air as he rode a wave of yellow electrical energy! He surfed through the air before taking aim at Pikachu as he began dropping down like a meteor.
"Counter with Iron Tail!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's tail glowed a bright silver color as he swung around to bash it against Raichu's head with a large electrical explosion setting off upon Raichu making contact with Pikachu's body!
"Pikaaa!" Pikachu cried out as he was flung across the battlefield. Raichu stood standing, a knee slightly crouched as he flashed Pikachu a light smirk upon the smaller mouse falling towards the ground!
"Pikachu!" Ash held out his arms and dove forward to catch Pikachu before he could hit the ground, Pikachu's eyes were closed but upon feeling the warmth of his trainer's body he opened up his eyes to look up at him.
"Pika?" He blinked, looking a bit scratched but still having plenty of energy left within his body while Raichu looked close to the breaking point as his knee was barely holding out!
Ash offered his best friend a smile before gently setting him back upon the ground. "Alright Pikachu let's finish this with Volt Tackle!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he took off across the field, golden electricity began to surround his body as he excitedly chanted out. "Pika pika pika!"
"Stop them with Psychic!"
"Rai rai!" Raichu's eyes glowed a bright blue color as he attempted to halt their progress only to grunt out as Pikachu's force greatly excelled his own, he attempted to get a good grip on the ground to get proper balance only to slip up as his knee gave out on him, allowing for Pikachu to charge into him with Volt Tackle!
"Raiiii!" Raichu cried out as he was sent flying through the air before landing in a defeated slump at Hau's feet as swirls filled his eyes.
"Raichu..?" Hau questioned.
"Rai..."
"Bzzzt! Raichu is unable to continue battling which means that the win goes to Challenger Ash Ketchum! Congratulations Ash, your new ranking is 25,001! Just a point away from entering Diamond Class! Bzzzt!" The Rotom Drone buzzed out before taking his leave as he flew off to report the match results to Macro Cosmos.
"Alright Pikachu, you did it!"
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped into Ash's arms as the two shared a quick hug before pausing in place as they heard the distinct sound of tears. They shot a quick look around before noticing Hau who had collapsed onto his knees and could be seen staring at the ground while a small puddle formed beneath his head.
"Hau? Hau, what's wrong?!" Ash quickly raced towards his younger friend as Hau continued crying. "I didn't overdo it, did I?"
"I-It's not you Ash, i-it's me..." Hau sniffled as he wiped away some tears before looking up towards his friend. "Y-You see, Tapu Koko chose me as grandfather's successor but I haven't got the slightest idea which specialty to choose. I've had all of my Pokemon since I first became a Pokemon trainer four years ago, I couldn't imagine sidelining any of them because they don't align with my chosen specialty. M-Maybe... maybe I should just reject Tapu Koko's choice, I'm clearly not made for this."
"Don't say that Hau, you may be younger than the rest but you'll make a great Kahuna! And who says you need a type specialty? The former Viridian Gym Leader had a wide array of Pokemon and didn't pick a singular type while there are also powerful trainers out there such as Cynthia, Diantha, Alder and Paul that don't specialize in a single type. Who says you have to?"
Hau was silent for a moment as the idea sounded intriguing but he was quick to shake his head with a sorrowful expression. "But it goes against tradition, grandfather would never-"
"Some traditions are meant to be broken boy," Hala spoke up as he pushed his way through the crowd. "Alola never had a Pokemon League let alone a Champion until Kukui set it all up with the blessing of the Tapu. Besides us Kahuna are free to give out whatever Z-Crystal we deem our opponents worthy of and sometimes even allow them to choose. I'm sure that if you ask Tapu Koko he'll agree, right Tapu Koko?"
"KOKO!" A bright flash of yellow light appeared as Tapu Koko appeared next to Hala. Tapu Koko gave Ash a brief look of respect and a silent nod of acknowledgement before focusing his attention on Hau.
"Whoa, who's that Pokemon?!" Marnie gasped out.
"Tapu Koko, he's one of Alola's guardians." Lillie explained.
"Ah right, I heard about those."
"Tapu Koko... is Hala right? A-Am I allowed to pass on picking a type specialty?" Hau questioned Tapu Koko in a nervous fashion.
"Koko!" Tapu Koko cried out with a swift nod of his head. Hala and Ash were quick to smile upon Tapu Koko's response.
"See? Nothing to worry about!" Hala exclaimed while giving Hau's shoulder a pat. "You'll make a fine Kahuna my boy!"
Hau gazed up at his grandfather as tears fell from his eyes once more, though this time it was tears of happiness! "Thank you grandfather..."
"KOKO!" The bright yellow light appeared once more as Tapu Koko shot back up into the air and out of sight!
"Well I guess we should be leaving now," Ash spoke up.
"Nonsense, you must stay! We'll be throwing a feast tonight to celebrate Hau becoming a Kahuna!" Hala excitedly exclaimed while giving his stomach a pat. "All sorts of delicious food will be served!"
Ash's stomach grumbled out at the thought of free food and a bit of sweat poured down his face as he offered a light smile. "Well I guess we can stay a bit longer."
"Morpek!" Morpeko excitedly chimed in, her fur turned bright purple while her red eyes shined brightly!
Marnie gave the two a look before sweating. "Well I guess I'm outvoted."
"Pika..." Pikachu nervously rubbed the back of his head as Ash and Morpeko grew excited at the thought of a large feast!
"Man I'm stuffed!" Ash gave his bloated stomach a light pat while Pikachu laid in a similar position next to him.
"Chaaaa!"
"I wish I could say the same for her!" Marnie sweated while pointing towards Morpeko who was gorging down entire watermelons without pause! "I swear it's like she has a bottomless pit for a stomach!"
Ash chuckled lightly before turning to look his girlfriend in the eye. "Ya know, now that I've beaten Kiawe and Hau I've only got one scheduled match left. It's been a while since we went somewhere that you wanted to go so why don't we head to Ula'ula Island and track down Nanu? I still have a few days before I have to battle Gary so I don't see the harm in doing so."
Marnie was silent for a moment before letting out an excited squeal as she threw her arms around Ash, pulling him in for a kiss which Ash was quick to return! Though it was quite the unfortunate timing as Hau made his way towards Ash only to see him and Marnie making out with each other, he froze in place as visible confusion formed across his face once more.
"Uh what...? I thought they said they weren't married."
"Pika!" Pikachu facepalmed before shooting a longing look towards Morpeko as she continued gorging down watermelons. "Pika..." He sighed out with a dreamy expression.
Ash and Marnie eventually pulled away only to gasp out and jump back as they saw Hau staring at them.
"Hau, what are you doing?!"
"I came to give you a reward for beating me, I am a Kahuna now so I thought it only right... but then I saw the two of you kissing and... you sure you aren't married?" Ash and Marnie's faces shot bright red.
"W-We're sure..." Marnie sweated.
"Y-Yeah, fairly positive..." Ash sweated.
Hau gave the two a suspicious look before shrugging. "Eh, whatever." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a green Z-Crystal that had Decidueye's head drawn onto it. "That's Decidium Z, with it you'll be able to upgrade Decidueye's Spirit Shackle into Sinister Arrow Raid!"
Ash's eyes lit up as he snatched up the crystal. "Decidueye will love this, thanks so much Hau!"
"Don't mention it and don't worry, I'll keep it a secret that the two of you are married." Hau gave the two a wink before hurrying off, leaving Ash and Marnie to stare at one another as their cheeks burned a bright shade of red once more.
The alarms blared off in Ultra Guardian Headquarters as another Ultra Beast had appeared on the island but before the computer could emit a signal to the Guardians themselves, a gloved hand flicked a switch and deactivated the warning system. "Heheh..." Faba turned towards Silvally with a sly smirk. "Can't have them interrupting our trial run shall we? We'll show them up at the next one!"
"You'll show them, boss!" His assistant laughed out.
"Silva!" The chimera screeched out in agreement.
The three departed the headquarters and began making their way towards the Ultra Beast which coincidentally just happened to be on Melemele Island and within walking distance! The pair made their way across the island before catching sight of a large Ultra Beast that greatly resembled a space shuttle, Celesteela!
Faba's eyes widened as a massive smirk formed across his face while he rubbed his gloved hands together. "Celesteela! Those pesky brats never did manage to capture one, if I manage to do so then Wicke and that Gladion brat will finally realize the genius that is Faba haha!" He turned towards Silvally before pointing towards Celesteela. "Alright Silvally, Flame style Mult-Attack!"
"Silva!" A orange aura surrounded Silvally's body as he dashed across the field before lashing out at Celesteela with his fiery claws!
"Steel!" Celesteela uttered out a pained cry while her expression suddenly changed from that of purposeful to that of confusion as she seemed confused as to how she got there or why she was even there! Celesteela shook her head before giving Silvally a harsh glare as she rocketed up, burning Silvally with her flames before she came crashing down on top of him with Heavy Slam!
"S-Silva!" Silvally gasped out as Celesteela crushed him before crying out in agony as Celesteela quite literally blasted off, burning him with intense flames as she rocketed towards the heavens and eventually out of orbit! Faba's gaze followed Celesteela up while his assistant gazed towards the ground.
"Blast it, Celesteela's gone!"
"Sir, what about Silvally? He looks like he's hurt."
"Ah who cares about that, he's clearly flawed. We'll load him back up into the machine and fix him up when we get back!" Faba waved it off with a careless expression. Silvally's eye jerked open and burned a fiery red color as he heard his creator harshly dismiss him as if he were just a common tool. Silvally slowly stood up before silently glaring at Faba and his assistant as his fin turned a black coloring, signaling his change to Dark type.
"Uh sir?" Faba's assistant began hastily poking his shoulder
"Not now boy, I'm thinking!" Faba waved him off while continuing to stare up at the sky.
"Sir!"
"I said quiet, boy!"
"But sir!" The assistant continued hastily poking Faba as Silvally rushed towards them with murderous intent!
"What?! What is so important-Oh! Well sh-!" Faba was interrupted as Silvally slashed out, sending him and his assistant blasting off into the sky before they disappeared over the horizon! Silvally then gazed around the area with deep heavy breaths, the violent expression remained as he looked around for his next victim as he found his angry emotion hard to control. Though with it being night there wasn't much of anything to attack or pursue! Silvally grunted out before disappearing into the nearby forest to continue his rampage causing wild Pikipek, Rattata and Yungoos to flew as he lashed out from within!
"Silva!" He angrily screeched out at the night sky.
Needless to say, Nanu's not the next chapter but the one after. Next time, Ash and friends have to deal with a rogue Silvally and who knows what else as Faba turned off the alarm! They'll certainly be in for a surprise.
