The Rampaging Silvally!
"Man I missed Alola, just listen to the lovely cries of the wild Pikipek and the nice cool ocean breeze!" James exclaimed while holding out his arms as a bright smile crossed his face. "Why did we ever leave again?"
"Because we couldn't just outright quit, it'd be ridiculous if we just up and left Carnivine, Yanmega, Mime Jr, Inkay, Gourgeist and my precious Seviper at Rocket HQ for the rest of eternity!" Jessie scoffed with a light roll of her eyes.
"Yeah, it's bad enough we flat out gave up Yamask, Woobat, Frillish and Foongus in order to save our hides after the Unova fiasco." Meowth sighed out while Jessie and James shared visible guilt. The three were going through a phase at the time which stopped them from forming proper bonds with the Unova team, resulting in the three unceremoniously throwing them under the bus so they wouldn't get canned. They always felt guilty about that and hoped that the Unova Pokemon were doing okay wherever they ended up.
"Hisss!" Mimikyu hissed out in his usual creepy fashion causing the trio, Wobbuffet and Mareanie to turn around to see what upset her.
"Mimikyu, what's wrong?" Jessie asked.
"Hisss!" Mimikyu hissed out while staring off to the southern part of the Melemele forest where they could hear rustling of bushes and even the cries of Pokemon feeling in terror.
"Uh Jess, I think we should get out of here..." James sweated with fear.
"Y-Yeah, James is right. I-I've got a bad feeling about this..." Meowth nervously shook.
"Calm down you two, I'm sure that it's just Bewear." Jessie laughed it off with a wave of her hand. "She's been gone for awhile and should be back any-"
"Silval!" Silvally leaped from the bushes, murderous intent flared in his eyes as he leaped towards Jessie!
"Jessie watch out!" James and Meowth desperately cried out.
"Wobbu!" Wobbuffet cried.
Jessie turned around and froze in place as she let out an ear shattering scream, Mimikyu let out a hiss as she leaped up to shield Jessie from the blow causing her trainer to merely be knocked back while Mimikyu was slashed and sent flying across the clearing!
"Jessie!" Meowth and Wobbuffet rushed to check on Jessie while James clenched his fists while an unusual level of rage could be seen displayed upon his face.
"Mareanie use Toxic and follow up with Venoshock!"
"Mareanie!" Mareanie fired off a large stream of purple liquid from her mouth, firing it in Silvally's direction only for it to bounce right off him as his fin suddenly changed to a bright silvery color. Strangely enough he seemed more ticked off upon switching his typing to that of Steel than he had been a few seconds ago, his eyes burned a fiery red color as he slashed at Mareanie causing her to fly across the field before she landed in a defeated slump beside Mimikyu. Silvally uttered out an enraged howl as he directed his attention towards the trio and Wobbuffet, his eyes burned with hatred as he charged at them while a fiery aura formed around his claws.
"Silva-ly?!" Silvally gasped out as Bewear appeared out of nowhere and now had Sivally in a chokehold.
"BEWEAR!" The large bear roared out before proceeding to hurl Silvally up into the air causing him to fly far away while she quickly scooped up the Rocket trio and their Pokemon.
"Bewear-"
"You-"
"Saved us!"
"Bewear!" Bewear cried out and held the six close to her chest while bolting off to her den as fast as her legs could carry her, feeling a great sense of relief that nothing happened to her family while the Rocket trio and their Pokemon couldn't help but smile as they nestled against Bewear's chest.
"Unbelievable, the Beast King's forces are all over this island!" Dulse exclaimed as he gazed towards a computerized device he held within his hand, several blips were visible and blinking on the screen. "No sign of the one from yesterday, it must have broken free and gone home or somebody caught it."
"All these innocent people at the mercy of those creatures... we must find Cosmog and put an end to his threat immediately!" Zossie shouted.
"Easier said than done, that Cosmog travels around fast! One second it's on this island, the next we know it's on another one... then back to the one we just left!" Dulse growled out. "Somebody is toying with us!"
"That doesn't sound very nice, why would they do that?" Zossie frowned.
"I'm not sure but when I find them, I'm gonna make them answer for it. These humans disgust me." Dulse spat.
"Naga..." Naganadel chimed in while hovering behind the two, unfortunately for them a large yellow and black wasp Pokemon was quite noticeable in the tropical climate which drew unwanted attention.
"Howdy there nerds!" Leroy smirked as he and his brother stepped out from a nearby alleyway, cracking their knuckles while Beartic stood behind their backs and copied their action. "Late for a sci-fi convention?"
"Nerds?" Zossie cutely tilted her head. "Is that what you call 'friends' here?"
Dulse narrowed his eyes as he leered at the two rednecks from behind his mask. "We are late for an appointment, yes. Now could you please step aside? I'd rather not get into a fight while my friend's within firing range."
"Oh I'm afraid that we can't do that." Cletus laughed.
Leroy smirked while nodding in agreement with his brother's statement. "Right, that there Alolan Beedrill is coming with us! Now we can either do this the easy way or do it the hard way, please choose the hard way. I love kicking nerd butt!"
"That's funny cause usually it's a nerd kicking our butts, or at least until he died." Cletus commented, earning himself a slap across the cheek!
"Shut up, Cletus!" Leroy hissed. "We can't mug nerds if you make us look like clowns!"
"Mug us...?" Dulse questioned while turning his gaze towards a market booth that was aligned with decorative mugs. "No thank you, I'm not here for souvenirs."
"You're clowns?!" Zossie's eyes lit up as she shook from excitement. "Put on a show for us please!"
"What?! We aren't going to give you-Wait a second... Cletus, I think these two are even stupider than we are!"
"Really?! Wow, I thought that was impossible!" Cletus gasped out, earning himself another slap across the cheek.
"Shut up, Cletus!" Leroy hissed out before directing his attention towards Dulse and Zossie, a wide smirk formed across his face as he issued out a command. "This will be like taking candy from a baby, Beartic use Blizzard!"
"Bear!"
"An attack, Zossie!" Dulse was quick to leap in front of Zossie, shielding her with his arms. "Naganadel use Poison Jab!"
"Naga!" Leroy and Cletus' eyes widened as Naganadel flew right through the blizzard without even the slightest hint of inconvenience, the tip of his stinger flashed a violent shade of purple as he lashed out at Beartic only for Silvally to suddenly leap between the two fighting Pokemon, taking the blunt of the Poison attack causing the creature to emit a pained cry.
"Aw, it's hurt!" Zossie cried, feeling sympathy for the mysterious Pokemon.
"What the-?!" Dulse exclaimed while leaping back at the sudden sight of the creature. "Is this monstrosity one of yours?"
"It doesn't belong to you?" Cletus raised an eyebrow.
"A Pokemon suddenly appearing from out of nowhere to mess up our plans..?" Leroy shot a quick look around as if he expected to see somebody only to find that they were the only ones around. "Well then if it ain't yours, then it'll be ours! Let's go, Ultra Ball!" Leroy hurled an Ultra Ball at Silvally only for the chimera to suddenly turn around and slice it in half!
"What the-?!" Leroy growled out while Cletus shook from fright upon seeing Silvally cleanly slice the ball in half as if it were a stick of butter. Zossie began trembling as well which didn't go unnoticed by Dulse.
"I'm not sure what you are or who you belong to but you're not going to hurt Zossie, Naganadel use Dragon Pulse!" Dulse shouted out.
"Naga!" A bright blue-green dragon shaped beam of energy flew from Naganadel's mouth and struck the side of Silvally's chest causing the chimera to screech out as it's tail turned an icy blue color, an icy aura surrounded his claws as he slashed at Naganadel, the aura then changed to red as his tail fin turned bright red once more.
"Silva!" The chimera viciously screeched as it slashed at Beartic, knocking the bear onto his back before turning back to Naganadel to finish the job only to find that Dulse had returned Naganadel to his ball before proceeding to run off, Zossie slung over his shoulder so she wouldn't fall behind and get caught by the beast. "Silva..." Silvally snarled out before turning back to Beartic right as Leroy returned him to his Pokeball.
"Heh... I guess I shouldn't have tried to capture that Unown, maybe that nerd would be here to save us if we hadn't." Leroy sweated before bolting off down the street. "Run for it, Cletus!"
"Right behind you bro!"
"Silva!" Fire burned within Silvally's eyes as he chased the two down the street.
"Man, this food is delicious! I've heard the others say that Brock or Cilan is the better chef but this has to be the best thing I ever tasted!" Zach exclaimed while stabbing his fork into a pile of pancakes.
"Really?" Dawn perked up from the opposite end of the table with a look of interest before giving Mallow a brief look. 'If he likes it, maybe I should ask her for some cooking pointers. My skills could definitely use some sharpening up!' She wasn't jealous of the compliment as she had to admit that her own skills were a bit mediocre, well at least when it came to making human food. Piplup and the others loved her poffins!
Mallow's eyes lit up as she flashed him an appreciative smile. "Thank you, those words mean a lot to me! It's my dream to be a world renowned chef so I do my best every day, trying out new recipes to improve my craft."
"Tsaree!" Tsareena cried out alongside her trainer while placing an order down at another customer's table.
"So is it just you and Tsareena working here? I haven't seen anyone else or any other Pokemon for that matter." Zach stated while taking a quick glance around the room.
"Oh no, my dad's in the back cooking while my brother constantly bounces between working shifts here and at his girlfriend's restaurant down the street." Mallow thumbed towards the pancake parlor. Nina had broken up with her fiancée during Ash's time away from the region and Ulu eventually won her over after a few unsuccessful attempts. "And apart from Ulu's Lickilicky, you'd be correct. I actually don't have any Pokemon other than Tsareena." Mallow frowned while nervously rubbing her arm. "I-I can't explain it but somehow I just never got around to capturing another Pokemon."
"But your friends did? That feels like poor oversight." Zach frowned.
"Yeah, I'd certainly like to ca-" Mallow darted her attention towards the cafe's entrance as the doors barged open.
"Out of my way, old lady!" Leroy harshly pushed an elderly woman aside as he and Cletus raced through the diner in an attempt to lose Silvally who came crashing through the door after them as he remained hot on their trails.
"Silva!"
"You two again?! How is it that you appear everywhere we go?" Zach groaned out before performing a startled leap as Silvally sliced through the front door. "What the heck is that?!"
"Hey, that nerd's alive!" Cletus exclaimed, temporarily freezing in place to point at Zach only for Leroy to grab the back of his shirt.
"Yeah yeah, big whoop. Now let's leave him to fight this thing while we sneak out the back!"
"I-I don't know, I've never seen one of those before!" Dawn exclaimed.
"A Silvally? Gladion's...?" Mallow tilted her head lightly before shaking it as she realized it was much to aggressive to be his. "Tsareena use Trop Kick!"
"Tsareee!" Tsareena leaped towards Silvally and prepared to strike only for Silvally to quickly turn around and slash her with his fiery claws! "Tsaree..." Tsareena groaned out as she collapsed against the restaurant floor, swirls in her eyes.
"Tsareena!" Mallow gasped out, fetching Silvally's attention as he turned towards her with rage filled eyes.
"Silva!" Silvally screeched as he quickly charged towards her. Zach was quick to act as he dove towards Mallow and pushed her towards the ground while Silvally flew above them, his claws lightly scraped against Zach's back as he went flying past them. His nose began to twitch as he got a whiff of blood causing him to look even more feral than before as he snarled out and licked his lips while staring at the three humans as the other customers raced out of the restaurant. "Silva..."
"Ace, Cinderace!" Cinderace kicked an electrical energy ball towards Silvally, giving him a good electrical shock but it wasn't enough to stop him. The chimera turned towards Cinderace and snarled as his tail fin turned an aquatic blue color, an aquatic veil surrounded his claws as he raced towards her before slashing her chest!
"Ace!" Cinderace cried out as she fell to the floor in a defeated slump.
"Car?!" Lucario shot his partner a look of concern before snarling out as he charged up a sphere of aura and fired it off, sending Silvally flying across the restaurant before crashing into a table.
"Silva..." Silvally groaned out as he slowly rose upwards before emitting a pain filled cry as Lucario smashed an electrified fist against him. His tail fin turned a bright pink color as telekinetic energy formed around his body, pushing Lucario away from him!
Lucario grunted out before taking a stance as his eyes flashed a bright blue color, a similar glow surrounded Silvally's body as he was hoisted up into the air before Lucario proceed to fling him through a nearby window! A loud crash was heard as Silvally went flying through it, the chimera landed against the street and snarled out as he looked back towards the restaurant.
"That was Psychic... wait, since when do you know Psychic?!" Zach exclaimed while shooting Lucario a shocked look. "I didn't think it was even possible for your species to learn that attack!"
Lucario shrugged. "I can't explain it but it just came to me while we were under attack by those Hisuian Pokemon in Jubilife Ruins, maybe it had something to do with the aura energy there? It was all out of whack, heck I sensed you and you weren't even there!"
"Huh, well that's awesome!" Zach smirked. "That attack will sure come in handy when-Oh right, Silvally!" Zach gasped out as Garchomp could be heard crying out.
"Garrr!" Garchomp was sent crashing into a nearby tree as Silvally snarled out, his tail fin now a light pink color as Garchomp laid in a defeated slump.
"He keeps changing colors..." Zach was quick to observe. "Why is that?"
"Silvally can change his typing at any time with the use of Memory discs, with certain parts of his body changing to match the color of his new typing." Mallow explained as she stood up beside him before tilting her head lightly. "But you need to insert those discs into him and there doesn't appear to be anyone doing so."
"Well whatever the case is, we've got to take it down! If he took down Garchomp while having a pink tail, that must mean he's a Fairy type? Lucario, strike him with Steel Beam!"
"Carrr!" Lucario snarled out as he fired a blue-silver energy beam from his hands. The energy beam shot out of the restaurant and blasted Silvally off his feet causing Lucario to form a light smirk as he leaped out of the broken window. "Carr..."
Silvally shook himself off before snarling out once more as he charged at Lucario once more, his tail fin turned a brighter shade of pink as he slashed out with telekinetic force! Lucario grunted out before collapsing onto his side, he managed to take the previous blow but this one proved to be too much for him to handle. "Carr..." Lucario collapsed against the ground, swirls in his eyes as Silvally leaned forward to bite his neck.
"Lucario, no! Zeraora use Plasma Fists!"
Zeraora burst from his ball and snarled out as blue electricity surrounded his paws, the electrical feline raced forward and slammed his fists against the sides of Silvally's body to stop him in place and prevent him from delivering the finishing blow. "Zera!" Zeraora cried out as he performed an electric shock, blue electricity flowed through Silvally's body before a light electrical explosion occurred which sent the chimera blasting off towards the pancake parlor down the road!
"Oops..." Zach sweated as Silvally went crashing through the window.
Marnie sweated as she watched Ash and Morpeko gorge down pancakes as if it were their last meal. "I really don't understand how you two can eat so much."
Ash and Morpeko gave each other a look before sharing a smirk. "That's our secret Marnie, we're always hungry!"
"Morpek!"
"Pika..." Pikachu sweated.
"Well don't eat too much, we'll be flying to Ula'ula soon for my bat-" Marnie went silent as something large came crashing through the window, flying across the restaurant before collapsing next to the front counter. "Um, Ash? What is that?"
"Hm?" Ash swallowed a bite as he turned towards the Pokemon. "Silvally...? That has to be Gladion's, it's the only one!"
Marnie shot a quick glance outside and sweated as she saw Zach and Zeraora standing further down the street, explaining how Silvally arrived at the restaurant but she didn't see Gladion anywhere. "Ya sure about that? Cause I don't see him out there."
"Well the only Silvally around was created by Faba, if another one exists then he'd have to have created it. But that wouldn't make sense as Wicke made it very clear that she'd fire him if he made another." Ash explained.
"Faba?" Marnie paused for a moment as she racked through her various memories of stories from past adventures that Ash told her. "You mean the guy that performed illegal experiments, assaulted children and kidnapped Pokemon only to receive a slap on the wrist? Ash, I'm sorry to say but I don't think you can trust that guy. He sounded like bad news."
"So you think Faba made another then?" Ash questioned while Silvally hopped back to his feet and shook himself off before leering at Ash, his tail fin changed to a bright red color as he raced across the restaurant with fiery claws at the ready! "W-Well I guess that would explain how this one changed it's type without assistance!" Ash sweated. "Pikachu, race behind him then use Volt Tackle to knock him out of here!"
"Pika!" Pikachu swiftly maneuvered around Silvally while Ash and Marnie were quick to leap out of the chimera's attack range. Silvally lashed out at the air and appeared to be even more enraged upon missing his target, the chimera let out an enraged screech before uttering out a pained gasp as Pikachu came blasting towards him like a rocket and sent electricity flowing through him before he was thrown from the restaurant!
"Alright Pikachu, way to go!"
"Pika!"
"Silva!" A pained screech could be heard outside the restaurant's door as Silvally appeared to have gotten into a fight with another Pokemon. Ash and Marnie raced through the front doors before freezing in place as a Stakataka stood a few feet from them while towering over the restaurant!
"Blimey..." Marnie gasped. "What is that?!"
"Another Ultra Beast," Ash clenched his fists as a serious expression formed across his face. "Stakataka."
"Sta!" The Ultra Beast brought his heavy legs down upon Silvally, crushing the poor chimera as it desperately gasped out for breath!
"It's killing him!" Marnie gasped out.
"Plasma Fist!"
"Zera!" Zeraora hissed as he leaped forward, blue electricity formed within his hands as he prepared to strike only to be sent flying back as Stakataka effortlessly bashed him away with another one of his legs! "Zera..." Zeraora groaned as he collapsed beside his trainer, swirls formed within his eyes.
"We can't use Z-Moves when Silvally's in firing range, not in his current state." Ash clenched his fists as he realized that he'd likely kill Silvally if he unleashed one upon Stakataka. "Pikachu let's try Surf!"
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped off the restaurant's porch before raising up his arms, summoning a large wave of water while a surfboard appeared beneath his feet. "Pika pika!" Pikachu rode atop the wave as it traveled towards Stakataka before knocking the Ultra Beast off his feet as the water pushed Silvally and Stakataka away from each other, leaving Silvally collapsed against the ground in a soaked mess while Stakataka slowly rose back up before lashing out at Pikachu! "Pika!" Pikachu swiftly leaped aside while Ash reached for a Pokeball.
"Urshifu I choose you!"
"Fu!" The bear roared out while taking a combat stance.
"Use Focus Punch!"
"Fu!" A bright blue glow surrounded Urshifu's fist as he shot forward before bringing his fist crashing against Stakataka! The Ultra Beast shook as he struggled to maintain his balance before keeling over as he fell in defeat.
"Alright!" Ash pumped his fists before pulling a Beast Ball from his pocket, although he wasn't in uniform he still carried one as Gladion made sure to hand a ball to each member of the Ultra Guardians just in case one appeared while they weren't prepared! The Beast Ball flew through the air as Ash gave it a good throw before it opened up to absorb Stakataka in a beam of red light. The ball hit against the ground and began to shake before chiming out to announce the capture complete!
Ash smiled for a brief moment before freezing up as he realized that he hadn't gotten an alert about the Ultra Beast and upon noticing Mallow come out of her restaurant with a visible look of confusion, he realized that she hadn't gotten one either! Something wasn't right here. Ash turned towards Silvally who weakly gazed up at him with an unreadable expression.
"Silva..." The Pokemon groaned out.
Ash frowned before giving the chimera a quick tap with a Pokeball, the ball shook twice before chiming out within his hand. "I'll have to tell Gladion about this, hopefully he'll understand what's wrong with you."
"You what?!" Gladion loudly exclaimed as Ash informed him about the existence of another Silvally. Gladion was quick to snatch the ball from Ash's hand before tapping the release button to check the contents, a sorrowful expression formed upon his face as he saw the weakened and soaked Silvally. Gladion's own Silvally uttered out a sympathetic cry as he looked down upon the newer Silvally. "It looks angry, hurt and confused... my Silvally was the same way, only different... this one is still in Psychic mode but I don't see any memory discs inside him." Gladion felt the back of Silvally's head before turning around with an enraged look.
"Wicke, put him in a containment unit. I'll attend to Silvally and try to fix him as soon as I am able, I've got something to attend to first." Gladion stomped out of the room before shouting out. "FABA!"
"Y-Yes, master Gladion?" Faba and his assistant raced out of their laboratory with fearful expressions, sweat poured visibly down their faces upon seeing the scowl upon Gladion's face. If looks could kill, they'd certainly be dead right about now. "What the heck did you two do?! You know that I never wanted another Pokemon to suffer through what Silvally did, why on earth would you make another one?!"
"B-Because... because we heard that you needed help! Ash is clearly too busy with his World Championship duties to be defending Alola so I thought that I'd make up a suitable replacement to defend the people of Alola!" Faba bluffed.
"Y-Yeah, that's right!" Faba's assistant eagerly nodded.
Gladion continued to glare at them. "More like you were seeking fame and glory, am I right?"
Sweat heavily poured down Faba's face, proving Gladion correct.
"What did you two do?! Silvally shouldn't be able to change types on the fly like that!"
"Well you see, I'm actually an expert when it comes to performing illegal experiments on Pokemon." Faba's assistant casually explained causing Faba to gasp out and attempt to cover his mouth only for Gladion to grab hold of his arm. "I performed genetic modifications to this Eevee back in the Kanto region, we were trying to make it so she could evolve at will only to screw up as she could only utilize new elemental attacks and nothing else... in fact she probably can't evolve anymore as a result of that. I got canned and worked under a Pokemon Hunter for a bit but after he got himself blown up I had to find new work, which is how I came to be working for you."
Gladion's eye twitched as the assistant continued and went into extreme detail on the experiments they put Silvally through. The suffering it must have endured. "Faba..."
"I know, demotion... back to janitor duties." Faba sighed out.
"Heck no, you're going to jail this time!" Gladion snarled out. "Lusamine went easy on you as you were long time friends with her, me? I'm not my mother, I'll ensure that you receive proper punishment and pay for what you did to Silvally!"
Faba's assistant sweated as Gladion grabbed hold of Faba's arm. "Well it was nice working for you boss but I've got to go!"
"Oh no you don't!" Gladion reached out to grab the assistant but he quickly dived before rushing out the door causing Gladion to growl out. "Somebody stop him!"
"Hey you, stop!" A worker tried to tackle him but the assistant tucked and rolled. The assistant then performed a jump as they leaped into a speedboat before departing the Aether Foundation.
Gladion growled out before turning to face Faba. "Whatever, at least we've got you!" Gladion shoved Faba into the arms of two employees. "Hold him, I'll call Officer Jenny so she can arrest him."
"Sir, yes sir!"
Gladion walked back to the main room to call Officer Jenny before quickly freezing up as he realized that somebody had turned off the Ultra Beast scanner. "Faba..." Gladion clenched his fists before quickly activating the machine once more only to gasp out as he saw several different blips appear throughout Melemele Island! "Fantastic..."
"You called?" Kiawe tilted his head as he, Lana, Lillie, Mallow and Sophocles stood within the Ultra Guardian headquarters alongside Ash and Marnie.
"Yes, I'm afraid that I've got some bad news." Gladion turned on the monitor causing the group to gasp out as they saw several different blips spread out throughout Melemele island.
"That's a lot of Ultra Beasts!" Lillie gasped.
"And ground to cover... how will we ever manage that?" Sophocles frowned.
"Simple, I'll be splitting you all up. Lillie you'll go with Ash and Marnie to deal with that one," Gladion pointed towards a blip on the radar. "Kiawe, I'm sure that you and Ash can take on a Ultra Beast by yourself but we can't take chances. If one of these is a Guzzlord, we'll need as many trainers at the ready as possible so take Sophocles and Lana with you for this one. This one is near Iki Town so I'll go alone and see if Hau and/or Hala can offer me their assistance, Mallow the last one is near your restaurant and if I'm not mistaken that's the last place you all saw the lovebirds so try and see if you can find them."
"No need, I actually have their numbers." Mallow casually responded. "I'll simply call them."
"Alright, now that everything's settled how about we get going?"
"Silva..." Gladion's Silvally stared at the glass tube that contained the other Silvally who was currently in stasis mode so Gladion could safely work on him without causing further harm to the chimera. Ash stared at the tube with a similar look to Silvally before Marnie placed her hand on his shoulder.
"He'll be okay, come on we've got ta get moving!"
"Right." Ash nodded before following her and Lillie out of the base.
"Don't worry Silvally, I'll finish working on him when we get back. Promise." Gladion gave Silvally a swift pet before returning him to his ball as he made his way towards his Pokeride Noivern.
Zach and Dawn stood in a meadow not far from the outskirts of Hau'oli City, their hands wrapped around the other's as they watched a group of Ribombee flutter around the meadow.
"They're so cute!" Dawn gushed while admiring the cute Bug Pokemon. "Why don't you catch one of them? It wouldn't hurt to have another Bug or Fairy type on your team!"
Zach sweated lightly. "They certainly are cute but I think that I should wait a bit longer before catching another Pokemon, well for myself. If you like it then I'll go ahead and catch one for you, Scizor use False Swipe!" He shouted out while tossing the Fast Ball forward.
"Scizor!" Scizor burst out from his ball and swiftly maneuvered across the field before slashing his pincers across one of the Ribombee causing it to emit a light cry before collapsing to the ground in a weakened state, his wings began fluttering as she attempted to regain flight but a Nest Ball put an end to that as it crashed against her body before engulfing her in a beam of red light. Ribombee gasped out as she disappeared into the ball which began shaking back and forth before chiming out to indicate the capture complete. "Scizor, zor zor!" Scizor sweated before turning back towards his trainer as if to ask for a stronger opponent.
Zach sweated lightly as he picked up the ball. "Sorry Scizor but we're supposed to be on vacation, I'm not picking fights. You'll get to fight against Opal whenever we get back to Galar, I promise!"
Dawn clasped her hands together before planting a kiss on Zach's cheek as he passed her the Nest Ball, thanking him for the capture while Lucario jerked his head around upon sensing an usual aura, the same aura that he felt upon Buzzwole's arrival.
"Carr..." Lucario growled.
"Scizor?! Scizor!" Scizor looked rather excited as Lucario informed him that a powerful opponent was coming. "Scizor, zor zor!"
"Garr..." Garchomp growled out as he took a stance alongside Lucario and Scizor.
Cinderace was busy stuffing her face with berries from a nearby bush so she didn't notice the others getting prepared to engage in battle.
"Phero?" A rather beautiful looking Ultra Beast stepped out from a nearby set of bushes and gazed towards the group before looking away with disinterest as she didn't see nor sense Cosmog's presence. Her appearance would have gone entirely unnoticed by Zach and Dawn as the two were busy kissing but the distinct sounds of Hyper Beam and Flamethrower brought them back to reality as Garchomp and Scizor weren't showing the Ultra Beast any mercy, Garchomp had a bad feeling about her while Scizor wasn't about to be denied a fight against a powerful opponent!
"Whoa, another alien?" Zach questioned upon taking notice of Pheromosa.
"It looks similar to Buzzwole in ways, perhaps it's the female version of the species?" Dawn questioned with a light tilt of her head while Mallow came flying towards them atop her Pokeride Flygon's back.
"That's a Pheromosa, whatever you do don't use male Pokemon against her!"
"Huh?" Zach and Dawn shared a brief look of confusion before realizing what Mallow meant as with a mere seductive pose, hearts instantly appeared within Piplup, Lucario, Garchomp and Scizor's eyes rendering them all unsuitable for battle.
"Phero!" Pheromosa pointed towards the humans while issuing out orders.
"Garr..." Garchomp shook his head while Lucario, Piplup and Scizor proceeded to turn on Zach and Dawn.
"Piplup!" Piplup tilted his head back as he prepared to use Whirlpool while Scizor aimed a pincer forward as he prepared to blast them with Hyper Beam. Lucario shook and trembled as he appeared to be trying to resist as he charged up an Aura Sphere.
"Oh that's why..." Zach sweated.
Mallow swiftly activated her Z-Ring as she and Tsareena began to move and pose in synch. "They can't return them all in time so we've got to give them time, Bloom Doom!"
"Tsaree!" Green energy surrounded Tsareena's body and quickly expanded outwards before the green light burst apart in a fiery explosion upon engulfing the controlled Pokemon, knocking them off their feet as the attack did it's job. Mallow may not be strong enough to take on their team but she was powerful enough to stun them enough to give them time to call them back.
"Forgive me Piplup!" Dawn cried out as she returned Piplup to his ball.
Zach frowned as he returned Lucario, he knew that Lucario would understand but he never did feel comfortable doing that to him. Scizor and Garchomp soon followed, although Garchomp showed no sign of attack Zach wasn't going to take a risk of endangering the girls, not when he had a female Pokemon capable of fighting!
"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!"
"Ace?" Cinderace glanced towards Zach before gasping out. The bunny quickly wiped berry juice off her mouth before forming a fire ball within the palm of her hands, the rabbit then proceeded to drop the ball before delivering a swift kick which sent the ball flying towards Pheromosa before striking her stomach! Pheromosa grunted out as she was temporarily brought to her knees.
"Hold up," Mallow glanced towards Zach's wrist. "I thought that you had one of those Mega Rings."
"This?" Zach looked towards his Dynamax Band before shaking his head. "No, that's a Dynamax Band. Unfortunately I can't use it outside of Galar." He usually didn't wear it outside of Galar but sometimes he liked to wear it just to pretend he had the ability to utilize Mega Evolution like Ash, May, Dawn and Lisia.
"No Mega Evolution?" Mallow tilted her head. "It'd be a lot easier to deal with Ultra Beasts if you had one or a Z-Move."
"Well Dawn has a Lopunny that can Mega Evolve," Zach motioned towards Dawn's wrist.
Dawn looked Pheromosa over before frowning as the Bug brought Cinderace to her knees before swiftly following up with another kick which knocked the Fire type out cold! "Well it wouldn't hurt to have something to use against these creatures, what if Team Rocket or something else sends us flying in different directions and you come face to face with an Ultra Beast on your lonesome? It sounds like Mallow can help you get a Z-Ring and I'd feel a lot safer knowing you're well armed and able to defend yourself against these beasts, after all it could be awhile before you get a Mega Evolution of your own." Dawn explained while reaching for Lopunny's ball. "Lopunny let's give Pheromosa a taste of our bond, Mega Evolution style!"
"Lopun!" Lopunny burst from her ball shortly before a bright pink light engulfed her body, transforming her into Mega Lopunny!
"Fire Punch!"
"Lopu!" Fire engulfed Lopunny's fist as she sprung forward before delivering a powerful blow to Pheromosa's face, leaving a scorch mark as Pheromosa fell to her back with swirls in her eyes.
Mallow reached for a Beast Ball and gave it a hurl only for the ball to comically drop a few feet away from Pheromosa causing Mallow to sweat while blushing from embarrassment. "Heh, I guess it shows that I never caught a Pokemon." Not even an Ultra Beast!
"Not to worry, Marnie gave us one just in case." Dawn explained as she retrieved a Beast Ball from her bag before tossing it towards the downed Ultra Beast, Pheromosa disappeared in a beam of red light as the ball fell towards the ground and began to shake before chiming out to indicate the capture a success!
"Huh, I don't see an Ultra Beast anywhere." Marnie frowned while tossing a Dusk Ball forward. "Murkrow, mind searching the skies for anything out of the ordinary?"
"Murkrow!" The bird cawed out before taking off into the sky. Ash and Pikachu silently glanced around in search of an Ultra Beast but weren't picking up on anything.
"You sure this is the right place, Lillie?" Ash called out.
Lillie looked down at her Rotom Phone. "Of course, the blip is right here and the others have disappeared so I can only assume that the others have dealt with their targets. It has to be around here somewhere."
"Well at least we know a Guzzlord didn't come through, that'd be hard to miss." Ash chuckled.
Lillie giggled before turning her gaze towards her bag as she felt it shaking. "Cosmog?" She unzipped the bag to check on her. "What's wrong, are you hungry? I've got more of those star candies," Lillie retrieved the sweets from a separate pouch before offering them to Cosmog.
"PEW!" Cosmog beamed brightly as she happily accepted the sweets. Lillie smiled as she began zipping the bag back up before freezing in place as she saw a Nihilego floating a mere inch away from her. She began nervously shaking as she flashbacked to the time that one had possessed her mother and transformed her into a horrific looking creature.
'I-Is it here for me?!' She nervously shook as it reached out with it's tentacles, however it's tentacles moved around her arm rather than reach for it as the tentacles moved towards the bag! "Cosmog!" Her fear for Cosmog's safety greatly excelled the fear of her own as she leaped away before forming a serious expression as she held out her arm. "You're not getting your hands on Cosmog!"
"Nine!" Snowy barked out.
Ash, Pikachu and Marnie turned around upon hearing Lillie call out and gasped out upon catching sight of the jellyfish Ultra Beast.
"Nihilego!"
"Pikapi!"
The jellyfish lashed out in another attempt to grab the bag only for Lillie to roll away while feeling thankful that Nihilego didn't attack while she was wearing her dress, else she wouldn't be able to move as swiftly.
"Nihilego's trying to grab Cosmog!" Ash came to the realization.
Marnie tilted her head lightly. "Well that would explain why all the Beasts are appearing on Melemele Island, the first one appeared on Akala which is where we found her. Now Nebby's here on Melemele with Lillie and they're all over the place!"
"But why would they want Cosmog? They all come from different planets." Ash was visibly confused as he felt like they were missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
"We'll have to find out later!" Lillie exclaimed while activating her Z-Ring as she and Snowy began moving in synch with one another. "Subzero Slammer!"
"Nine!" A large icy platform formed and rose beneath Snowy's feet while a bright blue light formed within her mouth before a large burst of icy energy came flying out and shot across the small distance, freezing Nihilego in place as ice quickly formed around him before trapping him in a block of ice!
"Alright Lillie, you did it!"
"Pika pi!"
Lillie smiled at Ash and Pikachu's praise while a Beast Ball sat within her hands. "I-I did do it... I beat Nihilego!" Lillie laughed out while giving the ball a good throw, it opened up as it flew towards Nihilego before sucking him in as a bright red light engulfed his body. The ball hit against the floor and shook back and forth several times before chiming out to mark the capture a success!
Lillie let out a light cheer before looking towards her bag with a worrisome expression.
Gladion took the Beast Balls containing Stakataka, Pheromosa, Nihilego and the other Ultra Beasts from the group before carefully placing each one into a separate box. "Wicke is hard at work fixing the device so we can send them home, Faba carelessly stripped it for parts as he thought the Ultra Beasts were never coming back." Gladion shook his head before looking towards Lillie's bag. "You say that Nihilego was trying to capture Cosmog?"
"Y-Yes, I saw it with my own eyes!" Lillie exclaimed.
"I saw it too!"
"Pika!"
Gladion frowned as he glanced towards the table then towards Cosmog before looking back towards the table as he made his way towards it. "Buzzwole!"
"Buzzz!" A Buzzwole burst from the ball before turning to Gladion in a questionable manner.
"Buzzwole, you seemed to be in a trance when I captured you... were you after her?" Gladion pointed towards Cosmog.
"Bzzz." Buzzwole tilted his head with visible confusion before shrugging.
Gladion narrowed his eyes. "No memory or knowledge of the incident... I recognize the signs, they're under some kind of control but why? Who would be controlling these beasts and why?" Gladion questioned before turning towards Lillie with a protective look. "Lillie I must insist that you remain here at the Aether Foundation with me where it's safe, I don't want those beasts attacking the mansion while you're sleeping!"
"I'm not staying here, you're not going to lock me away in an attempt to keep me safe!" Lillie snapped. "I can handle myself."
Gladion was about to retort before rubbing his forehead with a look of annoyance as he realized he was starting to sound like their mother. "Arceus help me... if you won't stay here then will you at least remain near Ash until we've got this situation resolved?"
"Of course, it'd be nice to hang out with him again!" Lillie smiled.
Gladion let out a sigh of relief before placing his hand on Ash's shoulder. He knew Ash was too dense to try anything and even if he wasn't, he had Marnie now so Gladion wasn't going to threaten him. "Ash, keep her safe for me."
"Will do, what of Silvally though? Is he safe? Is he alright?"
"He is though I've discovered that his ability to switch types on the fly actually makes him more susceptible to his emotions, easily falling into anger induced states. I'll do my best to modify him albeit humanely, so that he can only change types at a moderate pace. Like once or twice a day, it shouldn't hurt him anymore if I do that." Gladion smiled before nodding towards the room. "And after I finish fixing him up, he'll be good to travel with you."
"Really?! You'd let me keep Silvally?!"
"Pikapi?!" Ash and Pikachu's eyes lit up at the prospect of having a Silvally fighting alongside them at the World Championship!
"Well duh, you caught it." Gladion rolled his eyes before patting Ash's shoulder once more. "Besides much as I love Silvally, I don't think that I could handle owning two and I can't think of a better trainer to have one than you."
"Thanks Gladion!"
"Pi Pikachu!" Ash and Pikachu shared a bright smile as they looked towards one another.
"Looks like we just got ourselves a Silvally!"
"Pi Pikachu!"
The Rocket trio were sleeping peacefully inside of Bewear's den alongside their Galar and Alolan Pokemon when they were awakened by a sudden disturbance.
"What's that?" James couldn't help but shake while Bewear remained fast asleep.
"I'm not sure, Meowth go check it out." Jessie ordered.
"What? Me?! Why?"
"Because you're the fastest, you can lead it away if it's something scary!" Jessie argued.
"Ugh, fine." Meowth knew that Jessie was liable to literally kick him out the cave if he disagreed so he willingly checked it out only to gasp out as a couple of silhouettes leaped out and tackled him to the ground! "HELP!"
"Meowth!" Jessie and James quickly bolted out of the cave, Ampharos and Mawile hot on their trail before the four came to a sudden stop as they saw Seviper, Carnivine, Yanmega, Mime Jr, Inkay and Gourgeist all nuzzling up against Meowth in an affectionate manner before crying out in delight as they stopped their beloved trainers.
"H-How?!" James' eyes lit up as tears of happiness fell while Mime Jr and Inkay leaped into his arms.
"Seviper!" Seviper hissed out in response as he wrapped himself around Jessie while the woman let out a cackle full of happiness.
"What's that?"
"He said they all escaped after Giovanni's Kingler Gigantamaxed during the Darkest Day and they've been on the search for us ever since!" Meowth explained.
"Really? Well how on ever did you find us?" Jessie questioned only for the Pokemon to go silent as if they were trying to avoid telling the answer.
"Oh what does it matter, I'm just thrilled to have all of you back!" James let out an excited cry of glee.
"BEWEAR!" Bewear came charging out of the cave with an ecstatic cry upon seeing her large family, scooping them all up as she pulled them all into one large hug! The Rocket trio let out a gleeful laugh before feeling a tinge of sadness as they weren't sure what they'd do now that they didn't have to work for Giovanni anymore.
Zach and Dawn returned to Mallow's the following morning to help her and her family fix up the restaurant, though as they worked Zach couldn't help but think about what Mallow had said the previous day and how Dawn encouraged him to do so. He frowned for a brief moment before making his way towards Mallow to help her fit a new window into place.
"So how exactly do I get a Z-Ring?" He casually asked causing her to look at him as they fitted the window into place.
"You're interested in getting one then?" Mallow smiled as he nodded in response. "Well typically you're either gifted them by Kahunas upon the completion of a Grand Trial or you can earn them by finding a Sparkling Stone. Though finding those are easier said than done so it's best you start by taking up one of the Kahuna's Trials so you can earn your right to face them in a Grand Trial!"
"And what does a normal trial consist of?" Zach questioned.
"I can't really answer that as every trial's different and I can't say for certain that the Kahuna will send you to the ones I already know about." Mallow stated before tilting her head as a cute smile formed on her face. "So which Kahuna will you face? Hau was named Kahuna a few days ago so he's new to this, Kiawe would be thrilled to see what your Cinderace is capable of but you'd be battling inside of a volcano so I'm not sure how you'll feel about that. Hapu's a bit different as she'll let you straight up battle her rather than perform a trial while Guzma... he actually hasn't had any challengers as they're too scared to face him."
"Guzma then." Zach was quick to respond. "If he's having trouble getting challengers then I'd be glad to help him with that! So where does this Guzma guy live?"
"Ula'ula." Mallow responded causing Zach to sweat as Ash, Marnie and Lillie just left for that very island a few hours ago. "Po Town to be precise."
"Well Dawn and I don't really know our way around the region..."
"Oh that's no problem, once we're done here I'd be happy to show the two of you around Ula'ula!" Mallow beamed while Zach and Dawn gave her an appreciative look.
Faba let out a sigh as he sat in the lone jailcell within Hau'oli City's prison. "Any day now I'll be transferred to Poketraz and all my hopes and dreams will be forever lost..." Faba sighed out once more before clenching his fist to shake it as he shouted out at the ceiling. "Curse you Ketchum, if I ever get my hands on you you'll regret messing with me, I'll-!" Faba fell over as a bright blue electrical bolt came charging towards the wall before exploding against it, sending bricks flying everywhere while dirt and rubble covered Faba's lab coat and hair. "Ugh... what happened? Another Ultra Beast...?
"I'm no Ultra Beast!" A knight clad in black armor placed a long black sword that was crackling with blue electricity into his belt before extending his hand to the scientist. "I come with an invitation though do know that if you refuse, I'll be forced to draw my sword and end you."
"That's not an invitation, that's a threat!" Faba shouted.
"Don't get wise with me!" The knight growled out. "Seeing how we're short a Colress and this world's is too much of a hassle to reach, Emperor Ghetsis wants me to extend an invitation to join our group, we're going to capture the world's most powerful legendary Pokemon and rule the world unquestioned by all! So knave, will you join us? Will you join Team Rainbow Plasma?"
Faba's eyes widened as he burst into laughter. "Team Rainbow Plasma?! Hahahaha! What kind of name is that?! Nobody will take you seriously!"
"If that's the way you want to play then I shall paint the walls of this cell with-" The knight began to draw his sword with a serious tone causing Faba to let out a terrified gasp.
"W-Wait! I-I'll join! Please don't hurt me!" Faba dropped to his knees as tears fell from his eyes. "I have so much to live for!"
"That's precisely what I wanted to hear," The knight placed his sword back into his hilt before helping Faba up. "Now come, my lord is most excited to meet you!"
Yeah as you can tell I wasn't happy with how Mallow was treated in the series, so much so that in the very first draft of the original story she was meant to be Zach's love interest after he and Sonia broke up, becoming the fourth member of the group instead of Dawn. It fell apart as I couldn't think of anything for her to do other than find random recipes. (Not to mention, I accidentally found myself writing Mallow/Marnie when I meant to write the other. It's also why I rarely ever have Hilbert and Hilda within the same room and have never used Jessebelle, though she'll soon appear in Electric Blossom!) Her and Kiawe were my favorite of the new characters so I was notably disappointed when Kiawe and Ash never fought and Mallow never got a capture. :/
That knight may seem familiar to some but whose to say it's the same person behind the mask? It could very well be an alternate version of another character.
Silvally will join the team in a bit! Anyways next up is Marnie's battle against Nanu! :D
