Welcome to Day 19: In formal wear.
Lincoln was getting pumped for tonight. He and Stella are in Great Lakes City for a double date with Lincoln's friends: Casey and Nikki. Lincoln had a light blue suit, with an orange necktie and dark brown shoes. Stella had a brighter red dress on with a special watch and flat dress shoes. Leni, who now has her driver's license, was driving them over to meet up with Carlota. Those 2 were meeting up with some friends of Carlota's, which is why Leni is wearing a fancy green dress and white slip-on shoes.
"Might I say," Leni said. "If you two were going on a double date with me and Chaz, we would've been totes ready ahead of time".
"You sure do have a sense of style," Stella said.
"Thanks," Leni said.
"She really does," Lincoln said. "We're so pumped for our date".
"You two are going to have a blast," Leni said. "What did you have in mind?"
Stella told her, "Lincoln's friends: Casey and Nikki are choosing where we go first."
Lincoln then added, "we pick where to go next".
"Sounds like you'll have a swell time," Leni said.
The 3 of them pulled up in front of the Casagrandes' apartment building. As Lincoln and Stella got out of Leni's car, Carlota came out. She had a long light green dress and white boots.
"Hey Lincoln, Stella. Same with you Leni," Carlota said.
"Hey Carlota," they all said back.
"Ready Leni?" Carlota asked.
"Totes yeah," Leni answered. "Wow. Looks like everyone is dressing up in special attire tonight".
"I know," Carlota said. "Have fun you two".
After Carlota got in Leni's car, the two of them drove off. Seconds later, Nikki and Casey arrived.
"Hey guys," Casey said.
"Hey Casey," Stella said.
"Hey Nikki," Lincoln said. "Your hair looks splendid".
"Thanks," Casey commented.
"I double conditioned," Nikki said.
"I double downed on the brushing," Casey said. "You two look magnificent".
Lincoln and Stella thanked them.
"Hey," Nikki said. "It's already 6:05. We're gonna be late for that G rated movie about the LGBTQ community".
"You got us tickets?" Lincoln asked.
"Yep," Nikki said. "Let's go!"
It was 6:35 when they entered. Inside the theater, the one behind the booth said hello.
"Hello there," Nikki said. "Do you know which one is showing 'Coming out for the Pride'? That G rated movie about the LGBTQ community?"
The one behind the booth told them "Oh yeah. Your slot is number 14."
They thanked him before handing that person their tickets.
"Enjoy the show" the one behind the ticket booth told them.
"We will," Stella and Casey said.
After finding some good seats, they were really excited for the movie to start. By the time it reached 7:58, they were in the lobby because it was a 72-minute movie.
Lincoln, Stella, Casey and Nikki walked out in the middle of the end credits.
"What a great movie" Stella commented.
"I agree," Lincoln replied. "But I don't want to go home yet."
"Me neither," Casey said.
Lincoln then suggested "then let's see what the Casagrandes want to do. Here they come now."
It was Ronnie Anne who was with Maria, Carlos, Rosa and Hector.
After saying hi to one another, Hector asked "what are you doing out here?"
Casey answered, "we just got finished watching that awesome movie. What about you guys?"
Maria then said, "we just finished seeing a movie ourselves".
"It was glorious," Carlos said. "it's like our once-a-month tradition".
Rosa then said, "now, we're off to this diner on 145th Street we're going to if you wanna come".
"We would love to," Casey said.
With that, they all headed out to the diner Rosa got in question.
About a half hour, they reached the diner.
"This is the diner you guys were talking about?" Casey started commenting. "Looks more old school than modern."
"We know," Ronnie replied. "It is old school."
Frida Puga commented "this diner first opened when Carlos was born. We used to come here a lot when we were younger."
Rosa replied "totally. Come on and we'll show you inside."
Inside the diner, it looked totally 70s.
"Now I see why it's an old school diner," Ronnie Anne said.
She then saw a jukebox. "Cool," she said. "I love the disco music?"
They heard the jukebox turn on "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward. Ronnie Anne started dancing.
"Go Ronnie," Nikki said.
Ronnie Anne thanked her.
"This has to be the best night ever," Stella said.
They then found some good seats. They already knew what they wanted to eat. It was still going to be a little while before the food came over.
"I really like this diner," Stella said.
"Me too," Casey commented.
Everyone who was there was truly indulged in the place. When their food came, Hector and Rosa saw some old friends.
After saying hi to each other, Hector said "guys, these are our friends- Emily and Enrique Morales."
Rosa added "we've known them since high school."
"Nice roller skates," Nikki said.
"Thanks," Emily said.
"We love roller skating," Enrique replied.
Emily and Enrique skated off. Somewhere in between eating their food, everyone else noticed that Lincoln and Stella were sharing a kiss. Casey and Nikki were doing the same thing. Ronnie Anne got a picture. Same goes with her mom, Maria.
"You guys look so cute together while kissing together like that," she said.
"I agree", Ronnie Anne commented. "Maybe that will show everyone that I'm not Lincoln's girlfriend".
"I know," Lincoln said. "By the way, Ronnie Anne, with the craziness of all that is going on in this diner, I forgot to say your family's got some sick moves".
"Totally," Nikki said. "I always knew Ronnie loved to dance, but I didn't know you guys had some moves."
"What can we say?" Rosa asked. "This family loves to dance".
"Just like my family," Lincoln commented. "It's always a pleasure".
Everyone else was in total agreement with him.
With that, Day 19: In formal wear comes to a close. Thanks for tuning in.
Speaking of Ronnie Anne's family loving to dance, next up is Day 20: Dancing.
See ya soon for that.
