Gucci: Well, almost. Like I said before, he was initially intended to be the first boot, but I gave him a little more time and made him second boot instead. And yeah, Heather and Scott are my favorite characters to write for so far.
MarkLevins: I'm really enjoying writing the Emma and Owen subplot. Hope you'll like where it goes!
Heck: I always felt it would be interesting to have Heather be a villain again, but with everyone well aware of how untrustworthy she is. Thrusting Scott back into his villainous ways I also really enjoy writing. I was pretty disappointed with how All-Stars made him strictly comic relief since I always felt he was the most unique villain in Total Drama.
Rockin' (Chapter 2): Thank you so much! Especially glad you're liking the Shortcakes.
UltimateWarriorFan: And that's definitely an offense in Justin's book as well, lol. I was planning on having the Justin and Alejandro rivalry last longer, but I felt that it would get pretty repetitive if I did. However, Justin being out of the competition doesn't mean he's out of the story.
And here's the next chapter. Sorry that it was a longer wait than the other chapters, but freetime has been limited for me.
Who's gonna be eliminated this time? Let's find out.
"Last time on Total Drama Voyage. Some SHOCKING secrets were revealed, during our first leader-based challenge, truth or electrocution." As Chris talks, footage of B, Harold, Scott, and Emma getting electrocuted are shown. "Secrets included Gwen having feelings for somebody on the ship, and Alejandro planning to betray Heather and take over as team leader." A clip of Gwen and Trent awkwardly standing away from each other is shown before being replaced with a clip of Heather confronting Alejandro.
"The Killer Blades got an airboat, giving them faster travel through the Everglades, where teams needed to de-collar as many animals as possible." A clip of Bridgette piloting the airboat is shown. It's then followed by clips of Sky taking off a crocodile's collar while its mouth is propped open, Bridgette comforting a dolphin while Duncan took off it's collar, Owen being attacked by a Snail Kite after taking off it's collar. "Heather toning herself down as a leader weirded out some of her team members. While Emma's attempts to get Owen to step up as a leader weirded HIM out." Footage of Heather offering to sleep on the floor is shown, followed by a clip of Emma yelling at Owen.
"Meanwhile, Scott started to view Duncan as a threat and, after an unsuccesful attempt to form an alliance with Bridgette and Leshawna, went back to his team sabotaging ways." A clip of Scott talking with Bridgette and Leshawna while being massaged is shown, followed by a clip of him hiding the key in his hands. "In the end, the Killer Blades lost the challenge, Cody being blamed for the loss on account of 'forgetting' he had the key." A clip is shown of the key sticking out of Cody's pocket. Another clip of Cody getting on the Boat of Losers is shown.
The camera cut to Chris relaxing inside a jacuzzi. "Will Scott continue to succeed in sabotaging his team? Will Alejandro succeed in betraying Heather? And who's getting kicked next? Find out while having a ball watching this episode of...Total! Drama! Voyage!"
Heather, wearing mitts, opened up the oven and got out a tray of chicken drumsticks. "We didn't get first place, but we managed to avoid elimination at least. Good work everyone!" Heather walked up to the dining table where everyone was gathered around and put it down.
Harold took a drumstick and bit into it. "Whoa. These aren't half-bad. I never knew you could cook Heather."
"There's a reason why I was the head chef for my team in the cooking challenge back in Season 1."
"Yeah. You called it." Alejandro smirked.
Heather ignored Alejandro and walked towards Sierra. She was looking pretty down. "You ok?"
Sierra sighed. "Yeah...I just wish I could have been reunited with Cody for a longer time, you know?"
"Well I gotta say, you're taking being separated from him a LOT better than you did back in All-Stars."
"You noticed? After All-Stars, a lot of people on my blog were accusing me of stuff like 'You're not really a Total Drama superfan. You're just a CODY superfan.' I was NOT gonna have my title as number one fan of Total Drama questioned like that."
Heather looked at Sierra, slightly worried. "This doesn't mean you're going to obsess over all of us the way you did Cody, are you?"
"Of course not. With most of the contestants, I already know everything about you guys that the public needs to know. Though I'm kind of hoping to get a good opportunity to ask the three newcomers from Ridonculous Race some questions."
Heather decided to change the subject, and spoke to the team as a whole. "Anyway, from the votes today, B and I get the beds, while Sky gets the couch. But Sky , if you want to have my bed, I'm totally cool with that."
"Really? Wow, thanks Heather!" Sky replied.
Heather rose up a chicken drumstick. "Next time it'll be our time to shine. Let's try our best and make sure we get first next challenge!"
"Hear, hear!" Harold agreed as he rose up a drumstick. B, Sierra, and Sky rose up drumsticks as well.
"...I'm gonna go outside for a little while." Mike said. He stood up and walked out of the cabin cruiser. Alejandro rose an eyebrow at this.
(Confessional: Alejandro)
"Evidently, Mike doesn't buy Heather's facade. This could be used to my advantage."
Mike looked out at the sea, resting on the railing of the cabin cruiser. "Nice night, isn't it?" A voice asked.
Mike turned his head and saw Alejandro walk up next to him. "Oh. It's you Alejandro."
"I noticed that you seemed upset. What's wrong amigo?"
"I just don't get how the others forgive Heather so easily. Don't they remember how much of a jerk she was acting in the first challenge?"
"I doubt that they forgot. But they have nothing to lose by appreciating an actually nice Heather."
Mike shrugged. "So what do you want anyway?"
"Be honest Mike. Was it really just for how she acted in the first challenge for why you have a grudge against Heather? Or is it something else?"
Mike sighed. "During the party, before we even knew we were competing in the new season...she really hurt me with what she said about my relationship with Zoey."
"Her calling you boring?"
"Well...sort of. When she said that the only interesting part about me and Zoey's relationship was my disorder. Her acting like my disorder was the only reason Zoey was interested me really ticked me off."
Alejandro put a hand on Mike's shoulder. "Don't let it get to you. Zoey was attracted to you before she even knew about your disorder. It may be gone, but you're still you. The only thing that's changed is that it's up to you to keep the spark between you and Zoey alive."
Mike smiled before widening his eyes. "Wait a second...what's your game here?" Mke asked suspicously. "I watched World Tour, and there's no way you'd do something like this unless you wanted something."
Alejandro chuckled. "Quite perceptive, aren't you? You're not the only one who isn't fond of Heather slowly winning the team over. Now that Heather knows that I plan to get her eliminated, she'll want me gone if we lose a challenge."
"So you need to win over more team members, right?" Mike asked.
"Correct. I'm sure you want Heather gone as well, right?"
Mike shrugged. "Sure, fine. But why do you even want Heather eliminated? You got even with her back in All-Stars, and you guys are dating now."
Alejandro smiled. "This tango where me and Heather compete against and betray one another? This is our way of showing each other our love." Alejandro walked back inside the cabin cruiser.
(Confessional: Mike)
"You know, if THAT'S what Heather views as an interesting relationship, her comments about me and Zoey's relationship don't bother me as much anymore."
"You sure you wanna throw down white boy?" Leshawna asked.
"I'm half korean you know. And bring it on Leshawna." Duncan answered.
Leshawna and Duncan both rose their fists. "One. Two. THREE!" The two of them threw down their fists. Leshawna threw out paper. Duncan threw out scissors.
"Oh yeah! Looks like I get a bedroom!" Duncan cheered.
Leshawna growled in annoyance. "It should have been two out of three!"
"You didn't complain about that when you beat me and Zoey." Bridgette pointed out.
Duncan stretched. "Guess that settles it. Me and DJ get the beds, Leshawna gets the sofa."
"Sorry Leshawna. If you want, I can trade ya." DJ offered. He was currently sitting on the sofa.
"Don't sweat it DJ. You're still hurt. Just means that we gotta win next time." Leshawna stated.
DJ shrugged before picking up his crutches and began to head to his bedroom.
"Guess that leaves the rest of us with the floor then." Zoey said.
"Bummer that neither me or Bridge won. We could have shared a bed with each other." Geoff said.
"What if Duncan walked in on you two again?" Leshawna teased. Duncan and Bridgette weren't amused.
Scott tapped Leshawna on the shoulder. "Can I talk with you outside?" He asked. Leshawna raised an eyebrow.
(Confessional: Scott)
"Thanks to Zoey, the whole team knows about how I sabotaged my team, and set up others for elimination back in Season 4. If I try to pull that off again, they'll know something fishy's going on. Doesn't help that I can't look for the immunity idol unless I'm on the S.S McLean. Makes my plan to sabotage my team a bit of a double edged sword. Anyway, if I want to take down Zoey and Duncan, I'll need to take a different approach."
Leshawna and Scott walked onto the deck of the cabin cruiser. "What's up farm boy?"
"I was thinking about something that worries me. Pretty sure I'm not the only one thinking it either, but everyone's probably too nice to say."
"It's about DJ's injuries I take it?" Leshawna asked.
Scott nodded. "He seems like a good guy and all, but let's face it. He's a massive handicap against us."
Leshawna crossed her arms and glared at Scott. "Dude, if it weren't for DJ, we wouldn't have won the first challenge. He pushed our boat to victory after Fang wrecked it's engine, remember?"
"And because of that, he hurt his legs even further. I don't think he'll be able to pull something like that with broken legs a second time. I also remember that it's because of DJ that we needed to slow down immensely on our way to the shore. Heather's team caught up to us thanks to that. He also couldn't help us at all in the Everglades. If it weren't for the fact that Duncan won an airboat for our team, he would have slowed us down even further."
Leshawna's glare softened. Scott had a point. "So, what do you think we should do about it then?"
"If we lose a challenge, and DJ's injuries aren't healed up, we vote for him. If we want to win again, we need our team in the best shape it can be." Scott held out a hand. "Deal?"
Leshawna thought it over before shaking Scott's hand. "Deal. But if I catch you pulling a fast one, you're the one I'm voting for."
"Relax. I can't exactly pull off a strategy if everyone on the team knows about it."
(Confessional: Scott)
"Unless I mix it up with some new tricks of course."
The camera cut to the inside of the S.S McLean. Gwen was in the private movie room of the yacht by herself. She was about to put a disc inside the DVD player. "No matter how many times I see it, Bloodbath 2 never gets old." She said to herself.
Before she put it in, the door opened up. Gwen turned her head and saw that the person entering was the teammate she wanted to see the least. "Oh. Um...hey Gwen." Trent said.
"Trent." Gwen said with a somewhat forced smile. "What brings you here?"
Owen, Noah, Brody, and Kitty came walking into the movie room, Owen carrying a large tub of popcorn. "Oh yeah! Movie night!" Kitty cheered enthusiastically.
"Time to celebrate our team's first win!" Brody exclaimed.
"Dibs on picking what movie we see!" Owen shouted.
"No way big guy. You've made me see Overcast with a Chance of Meatwads far more times than it should be legally allowed." Noah replied.
Kitty stopped walking and turned to Gwen and Trent. "Wanna join us Gwen? Emma's busy reading law books in the library, and Dawn's just meditating in her room."
"I...already watched a movie." Gwen lied. She quickly put the disc inside it's box. "I'm gonna catch some Z's. Have a nice time guys!" Gwen began to leave the room.
"Don't let the bed bugs bite!" Brody waved.
Owen, Kitty, and Noah all looked at Trent. "You okay man?" Owen asked.
Trent sighed. "Hard to say. Part of me is relieved, but the other part of me is disappointed. You know what I mean?"
"Well, maybe movie night can help get your mind off things. How about you pick bro?" Brody offered.
The camera switched to Gwen walking through the hallways. "There are over a hundred rooms on this yacht, and me and Trent happen to go to the same one. Great."
"You don't have to let it ruin your time you know." A voice behind Gwen said.
Gwen calmly turned around. "Hey Dawn." She got used to the sudden appearances from the Moonchild.
"Why are you so afraid of being around Trent? You're not exactly on bad terms with him." Dawn pointed out.
"I know, but things were already awkward between us after Action. And thanks to that stupid Truth of Electrocution challenge that Chris held, that awkwardness increased ten-fold."
"True. But being open with Trent wouldn't hurt things."
Gwen sighed. "I'm heading to bed. Night Dawn." Gwen opened the door to a fancy bedroom and went inside.
(Confessional: Dawn)
"The auras of Trent and Gwen are both in disarray. If they don't move past this, it'll harm more than just their performance in the game."
The next day arrived, Chris' voice speaking over the intercoms. "Morning sailors! Everybody meet on the skydeck in two hours, and make sure you're hydrated. We're going to Barcelona!"
Alejandro rose up from the floor of the cabin cruiser, pleasantly surprised. "Barcelona? I was born and raised there."
Mike rose up from the floor as well. "Well, let's hope it's a challenge where you can use that as an advantage. I could use the yacht right now." Mike said.
The two of them heard something sizzling. They turned to the kitchen and saw Heather frying some eggs in a pan. "Oh hey! You guys are up! The eggs will be ready in about 10 minutes."
Alejandro shivered a little bit. He knew it was just an act, but Heather being nice was not something he was comfortable with.
Two hours passed and the contestants were all on the skydeck, looking at Chris lounge in a chair. "...Well?" Emma asked.
"Well what?" Chris asked.
"Aren't you going to tell us what the challenge is?" Bridgette asked.
"Patience sailors. Right now we're waiting for Chef to bring in some people." On cue, the contestants heard the horn of a boat. "And here he comes!"
Chef drove the Boat of Losers nearby the yacht the drawbridge being lowered. "What's this about anyway?" Gwen asked.
"I figured that for this challenge, it would be fitting to have some cheerleaders. Everybody give a hand to some familiar faces, Amy and Samey!"
Walking up the drawbridge were two identical blonde girls, the only difference between them being that one had a small mole on her right cheek. Both of them were in red cheerleader outfits. "Ugh. About time we made it here. You could have gone faster Samey." The blonde with the mole on her face said.
"I wasn't even the one driving the boat Amy!" The other blonde shot back.
"Um...who are these two?" Heather asked.
"They were in my season. Amy and Samey." Sky answered.
"Umm...it's Sammy." Sammy corrected.
"Nobody cares, Samey." Amy and Chris said simultaneously.
(Confessional: Sammy)
"When I found out Jasmine and Shawn weren't coming to the party, I decided to not get involved since they were the only friends I really had on the show, and Amy didn't want to get involved in anything about Total Drama after he time there. Good call too since it turned out to be a trick to get contestants involved in another season. But then some people came at our door saying they needed a pair of cheerleaders for a challenge on Total Drama, and mom signed us up. Ugh. At least it's only minor involvement for a single challenge."
Geoff turned to Chris. "So like, are these dudettes joining the competition? Seems kinda early to throw in new competitors."
"They aren't joining the game as a whole Geoff. Like I said, they're just going to serve as cheerleaders for your next challenge. A soccer game at Camp Nou!" Chris announced.
"Ugh, another camp? Let's hope it's better than Wawanakwa." Gwen said.
"It's not a camp in the way that you're thinking about." Alejandro said. "Camp Nou the largest stadium in all of Europe."
"So, it's a sports challenge?" Sierra asked.
"Correct." Chris answered. "You guys will be playing games of soccer against each other. There'll be three soccer games. Killer Blades versus Team Heather, Team Heather versus the Strawberry Shortcakes, and the Strawberry Shortcakes versus the Killer Blades. Whichever team wins the most games will win the challenge. The team that loses the most will be eliminating a member."
"Fantastic! My oldest brother taught me everything I knew." Alejandro said.
"Wait, José taught you?" Heather asked. "I thought he bullied you your whole childhood."
"Not him. I have another brother, Carlos. He's a profoessional soccer player."
"And with Vito's strength combined with Svetlana's acrobatics, I'm not too shabby at the game either." Mike stated.
Emma turned to Owen. "Heather's team has two gymnasts, and someone who trained under a pro soccer player. If we want to win this, you need to think of a really good plan." She whispered.
"Ok...I'll try." Owen replied.
"Question. What if every team wins a game?" Bridgette asked.
"I'm glad you asked. If that happens, we'll tally the total number of goals each team scored. Team with the most goals wins, team with the least goals loses. And if two teams have the same total number of points, then the teams will have antoher match against each other where the first team to score one goal will win it."
"And what if all three teams have one win, and the same amount of goals?" Zoey asked.
Chris frowned at the question. "You know, you kids are starting to annoy me with the nitpicking. In the very unlikely event that happens, our referee Chef will decide which team he believed put up the best performance and give them first place, the other two having the tie breaking game."
"So...was there really any point in bringing us?" Sammy asked.
"Hey, all football games need cheerleaders." Chris eplied.
"But it's a soccer challenge."
"Actually, soccer is called football in a lot of countries. Brazil, Spain, England, Mexico, the majority of countries in Africa." Harold said.
"What the dork said. Maybe you should stop looking for an excuse to be so lazy." Amy said to Sammy. "And this time, DON'T blow our shot at fame."
(Confessional: Sky)
"Back during Pahkitew Island, I never really talked with Amy or Samey, um, Sammy. But from when I watched the season after it finished, and from what Jasmine told me about her, I found out that Amy's a real piece of work."
The camera cut to the contestants, along with Amy and Sammy, on the soccer field. Chef was in a referee outfit.
"Alright, who here needs an explanation about how the game works?" Chef asked. "I'll simple it down for you dummies."
"All I really know is that you can't use your hands unless you're the goalie." Owen said.
"At least you know the most important part, tubby. He's right. Unless you're the goalie, or if you're throwing in a ball from the sidelines, you can't use yours hands of arms. Along with that, if you kick the ball out of the sidelines, then a player on the opposing team gets to kick or throw it back in. Also, if you commit a fouls like touching the ball with your hands, waste time, por attack a player, the opposing team gets a free kick. Depending on how severe the foul is, the free kick is direct or indirect."
"How does an indirect free kick work?" Dawn asked.
"Basically, unlike direct free kicks, indirect free kicks mean that the ball has to touch another player before a goal can be scored. Direct free kicks mean that the kick can be taken as a direct shot towards the goal from the start." Trent explained.
Chris walked up on the field. "Each of the first three games will be 20 minutes long, there being a break 10 minutes in. And in the event that there are two teams who scored the same amount of points and won the same amount of games, a fourth game will be held where the first team to get a point wins, as stated before."
"Seven members of a team play at a time, so tubby, you can switch members out. But you only get one substitute per game." Chef told Owen.
"Also, EVERY member has to play...Noah." Chris said.
Noah sighed. "It's been years since the dodgeball incident Chris."
"You realize that DJ's still injured right?" Bridgette asked.
"If he's too weak to help out his team, then too bad." Chef replied with a glare at DJ. DJ was looking pretty annoyed.
"He can play goalie. Not too much running around for that. And he's got some extra reach with his crutches." Chris suggested. "Anyway, there are also a few surprise traps we hid in the field like mines and pitfalls. So you better be careful." On cue, a disgruntled intern walked across the field, only to fall through a pit.
"Of course you'd make it dangerous." Alejandro said.
"Remember when we could just play dodgeball without having to worry about dying?" Gwen asked.
"Relax. None of these traps will kill you." Chris assured. "But they WILL make it harder on you if you trigger them."
The intern climbed back up from the pit, and joined a few more interns who came in, carrying stacks of t-shirts and shorts. Each shirt had the design of one of the team's logo on it. The interns were giving them to members of the respective team. "Alright maggots. Change up in the locker rooms and meet here in 30 minutes. That gives you two blondies time to practice on your cheering. Both of you will cheer for each team at least once." Chef blew a whistle, and most of the contestants walked off.
Sammy was about to get some pom poms on a bench, but Amy shoved her to the ground. "Dibs!"
Kitty walked up to Sammy and helped her stand up. "Hey! Not cool." Kitty told Amy.
"Don't worry about it. She's not worth it." Sammy said, as she got the other pair of pom poms."
"Excuse me? I'm worth more than YOU'LL ever be Samey!" Amy yelled.
Sammy simply walked away, getting ready to practice her cheers.
(Confessional: Amy)
"Ugh! Ever since we got eliminated together, Samey's been more obnoxious than usual. She never does what I tell her to do, has stopped paying for my things. She barely even tries to argue when I point out how she's screwed up! What's with her?"
Duncan, Geoff, DJ, and Brody were together in one of the boys locker rooms, DJ sitting on a bench. They were all putting on their soccer team shirts. The Blades' t-shirt was black with the blood stained knife logo. Meanwhile Brody's shirt was pink, with the strawberry shortcake logo. "Good luck out there dudes! But I'm not gonna go easy on you." Brody said.
"Same here bro." Geoff answered.
DJ finished putting on his shirt. "Fellas, is it just me, or has Chef been extra mean towards me?" DJ asked.
"Hard to tell. Chef's a jerk to everybody." Duncan answered. He started putting on his shin guards.
"Dude's probably just mad about how you ended the illegal alliance with him back in Season 2." Geoff said.
"Either way DJ, are you sure you can be the goalie?" A voice asked. Scott came walking by, already in his soccer clothes. "A goalie's an important role, and DJ's injuries put him at a disadvantage."
"And it would be the same if he wasn't the goalie." Duncan replied.
"I guess...I'm just worried that we aren't making our defense as good as it could be, you know?"
"Well you know what they say. The best defense is a good offense." Geoff said.
"And there's another saying. The best offense is a good defense." Another voice said.
Duncan, DJ, and Geoff all recognized the voice and glared at the direction. "What do you want, Al?" Geoff asked spitefully. Geoff was genuinely a pretty easy going guy. But Alejandro was one of the few people he could never find himself acting friendly towards. No surprise given what Alejandro did to Bridgette back in World Tour.
"I was just saying that the dirt farmer makes a good point. Your role is cruical DJ. A mistake is most notable when you're the goalie, the one who prevents the balls from going in. The pressure can be crushing even normally, but in your condition? It's practically asking for your opponent to score goals."
DJ started to get worried.
"Hey, knock if off!" Scott yelled. "You're not giving a warning, you're just trying to freak him out like you did in World Tour."
Alejandro smirked. "Does it make my words any less true?"
Duncan stood up and walked up to Alejandro. "You have 5 seconds to get out of here before I show you a couple moves I picked up in prison."
Alejandro shrugged and walked off.
"Man, that guy's a tool." Scott said.
"You can say that again." Geoff agreed.
"Whoa. The dude seemed way nicer back on Boney Island. He even saved my life." Brody said.
"That's the kind of guy Al is. Act nice and friendly before he stabs you in the back." Duncan walked up to DJ. "You ok man?"
DJ took a breath. "I'm...I'm fine."
Scott walked towards where Alejandro exited from. "You know I have a few words to say to Al."
"If it gets violent, give him a sock in the eye from me." Duncan called out.
"And another for me." Geoff told him.
Scott exited the locker rooms and saw Alejandro standing by the door. "Man, you timed that better than I was expecting." Scott complimented.
Alejandro walked up to Scott. "I must say, I wasn't expecting you to be so devious. No offense, but you weren't exactly a mastermind in All-Stars."
"Yeah yeah. I got kinda lazy that season. But that makes it easier to gain the guys' trust."
"So, you're certain that you can make sure Team Heather wins the match against the Blades? Injuries or not, DJ won your team the game in the first challenge, and Zoey is quite capable."
"Please. I'm a master at throwing challenges. I just needed somebody to remind my team about our liability."
Alejandro nodded as he shook Scott's hand. "It was a pleasure doing business with you."
"Same here. Now remember. We gotta decide who gets punched in the eye to make it look like we fought."
Alejandro and Scott broke the handshake, and rose their fists in the air before throwing them down. Scott chose rock. Alejandro chose paper.
"Best out of three?" Scott asked nervously.
Alejandro punched Scott in the right eye, causing him to fall to the ground. "For the record, it was YOUR idea that one of us gets punched in the eye."
"Aughhh...I know." Scott groaned.
(Confessiomal: Scott)
Scott currently had a black eye. "I already have a target painted on DJ. Now I just gotta lay low while making sure we lose, and Duncan and Zoey will say bye-bye to one of their pals."
Owen, Gwen, and Noah were at the refreshments stand, all drinking bottles of water. "Not gonna lie. I'm kinda nervous about this challenge. Between you and me, I'm not too great at sports." Owen said.
"Come on. You were a killer in the dodgeball challenge back in Season 1." Gwen pointed out.
Owen chuckled. "Well, besides that."
"Trust me big man. Sports aren't my forte either." Noah said. He took a drink for his water.
"So Noah, it ok if I ask you a favor?" Owen asked.
Noah raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"Can you give me strategy ideas for our soccer matches? I really need to get Emma to view me as a good leader."
Gwen rolled her eyes. "Come on Owen, you shouldn't let her freak you out like this."
"Well, it doesn't hurt to have a strategy." Noah said. "Owen, how about you be the goalie? You can block most of the goal. Gwen, how's your leg strength?"
"Huh? Well, I lasted the longest in Chef's tree hanging challenge back in season 1, so pretty good."
"Then you and Emma can be strikers. If you guys are close, advance towards the opponent and use some quick and simple passes. Remember to make diagonal runs if they're opponents in your way of the goal, because running in a straight line will be easier for the enemy to intercept. Kitty, Trent, and Brody can be the defense. I'll switch out with either Owen, in case he gets exhausted from the exercise, or Brody in case his legs give out like they did in Ridonculous Race."
"Whoa." Owen said.
"Where was this in the dodgeball challenge?" Gwen asked.
(Confessionals: Noah)
"I don't want Owen to be the target of Emma's wrath. Emma's pretty competitive, and if you're not a useful team mate, she won't be happy. She drags me and Kitty along to a game night that some of her college friends throw almost every week. First time I was there, I cost our team the game in Tortuga, and Emma yelled at me for four hours. I've been studying and coming up with strategies for more games than I can count ever since."
Soon, everyone was back to the soccer field. Team Heather and the Killer Blades were on the field, the Strawberry Shortcakes watching from the bleachers. Team Heather were all wearing yellow sports shirts, with Heather's face as the logo. B was the goalie. The Blades were in black shirts, a blood stained knife as the logo. DJ was the goalie. Sammy was on the left side of the field, cheering for the Blades. Amy was on the right side cheering for Team Heather.
Duncan and Heather walked to the center of the field, where Chef was. Chef held a coin. "Heads means that Heather kicks it off. Tails means that the delinquent does. Any questions?"
Harold rose his hand. "You realize that in soccer games, the winner of the coin flip choses which goal is which, while the loser starts the kick off, right?" Chef threw a spare soccer ball at Harold's face. "Ow!"
Chef flipped the coin, caught it in his hand, and slammed it on the back of his other hand. He then took his hand off the coin. "The Blades kick it off!"
A ball was placed in the center of the field, Duncan putting a foot on it. Sammy did various poses with her pom poms. "B-L-A! D-E-S! Gooooo blades!" Sammy cheered.
"You call that a cheer? Watch this." Amy said. Like Sammy, she did various poses with her pom poms. "V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!" Amy turned to Sammy and pointed at her. "We're gonna win the game and you wanna know why?" Amy did a handstand before jumping up and flipping in the air. "'Cause we've got spirit and we're riding high, so V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!"
"Nice one Amy! Makes sense that the lesser twin has the lesser cheerleading techniques." Chris said.
Amy smirked at Sammy. Sammy just shrugged. "I'll put in more flair next time."
"Huh?" Amy and Chris both reacted.
Duncan turned to his side of the field, and passed the ball towards Zoey. Zoey ran towards Team Heather's goal while kicking the ball, Duncan accompanying her. All the other blades move further back to their own goal.
"Oh no you don't." Heather said. She, Sierra, and Harold ran up to Zoey to steal the ball from her. Unfortunately for them, a clear opening was left for her to pass to Duncan, allowing her to pass it to him.
"Go for it Duncan!" Zoey yelled.
"Will do!" Duncan kicked the ball towards the goal. Before B could lunge for it, Alejandro got in the way, and headbutted the ball towards the other side of the field. "Mike, now!"
"I'm on it!" Mike yelled. Zoey and Duncan turned their heads and saw that Mike was on their side of the field.
"Block him!" Duncan yelled.
Leshawna and Geoff both moved towards Mike, ready to intercept the ball when it landed. Unfortunately, Mike didn't need to be on the ground. Mike lept upwards and kicked the ball while it was in the air. The ball shot towards the Blades' goal, DJ completely missing the ball when he swung at it with one of his crutches.
Chef blew his whistle. "And Team Heather scores the first point!"
Amy smiled as she did cartwheels. "Score! Score! We want more!" Amy flipped in the air. "We'll drive it to the finish and own that board!" Amy turned to Sammy and smirked. "How about that Samey?"
Sammy rolled her eyes before doing various poses and jumps while waving her pom poms. "Push them back! Push threm back! Push them back and go on the attack!" Sammy did a split before raising both of her poms poms. "Cut through them, Blades!"
Amy clenched her fist in frustration.
"Ugh...did Chris have to bring cheerleaders?" Gwen asked from the bleachers.
Chris popped up next to Gwen. "Yes. I did." He left as soon as he appeared.
"What's with Team Heather's cheerleader?" Trent asked. "She knows that she doesn't win or lose the challenge right?"
"They're cheerleaders. Competitiveness and a cutthroat attitude runs through their blood." Noah answered. Gwen nodded in agreement.
"I dunno. I think that one of them is just trying to put the other down." Kitty said.
"I do sense that there's a a great rift between the sisters." Dawn stated.
"Team Heather scored. That means the Blades get the kick-off to restart the match." Chef announced.
Once again, the ball was placed in the center. Duncan passed the ball towards Leshawna before running back towards his goal. Meanwhile, Leshawna and Bridgette were running forward towards Team Heather's goal, the two having much more space between them than Duncan and Bridgette did before.
Sky ran towards Leshawna, and stole the ball. "Got it!" She began to move towards the Blades' goal
"Alright Sky!" Heather cheered.
Geoff began to run towards Sky to steal the ball. Luckilly for him, as Sky was moving, she suddenly fell into a pitfall. "Ahhhhhh!" Sky yelled.
The ball slowly rolled over to Geoff, who stopped it with his foot. "Huh. Lucky break."
Geoff kicked the ball towards Leshawna, who went back to running towards Team Heather's goal. "It's all you girl." She said. Leshawna kicked the ball in the air, going right above Sierra's head when she tried to intercept Leshawna. However, the ball was quickly swatted to the ground by somebody's hand as it was in the air.
"Hya-cha! My apologies Leshawna, but while my love for you burns strong, it doesn't mean I'll stand around and do nothing." Harold said as he did karate poses.
"...You realize you just comitted a foul, right Harold?" Leshawna asked.
Harold widened his eyes, while the majority of Team Heather facepalmed.
(Confessional: Harold)
"Sometimes when you get caught up in the heat of a moment, you forget some really crucial stuff."
"The Blades get a direct free kick." Chef declared. "Delinquent, have a member of your team try to kick the ball into the goal. Team Heather, if you want, form a wall about 9 meters away from Leshawna, and try block the ball with your heads. All members of the attacking team have to be a meter or more away from the wall."
"Leave the kick to me. I got enough power to punt that ball to the moon." Leshawna claimed.
"Just remember. We want it in the goal." Duncan told her. He moved back towards his team's side of the field.
After Sky pulled herself out of the pit, Team Heather stood next to each other and formed a wall. "Kick that ball right in the goal. C'mon Leshawna, be the star of the show!" Sammy cheered.
"You learned their names?" Amy asked in shock.
"Bring it on Leshawna!" Heather challenged.
"You asked for it!" Leshawna kicked the ball in the air. Mike jumped high up and headbutted the ball towards the ground.
"Excellent!" Alejandro took the ball and began to kick it towards the Blades' side.
"Block him!" Duncan and Geoff began to charge towards Alejandro, but were suddenly blasted up into the air by an explosion.
"Oof. One of the landmines. Talk about a tough break." Chris said.
Alejandro maneuvered around Zoey and Scott before sending a kick towards the goal. DJ held one of his crutches to block it, but right before it hit the crutch, the ball curved around it and went into the net. "What the-?!" DJ reacted.
"And Team Heather gets their second point!" Chef yelled. Team Heather cheered at the announcement.
The remainder of the first half of the game didn't go so well for the Blades. The only time they were close to scoring a goal for the rest of the period was when Zoey managed to pass to Bridgette when Alejandro was busy blocking Zoey, and Bridgette managed to take a shot at the goal thanks to Mike falling in a pitfall. However, Sky managed to block the ball with her knee before it reached B. Every other time the Blades tried to advance, Alejandro or Mike would steal the ball from them.
Thankfully, Team Heather weren't able to score any more goals, but they were all close calls. First, was when Heather drew most of the team's attention before passing to Alejandro who took a shot that was barely blocked by Leshawna. Then when during a corner kick, Sierra kicked the ball high up in the air, and Mike lept into the air, having a clear shot. Thankfully, Zoey saw it coming and jumped up to kick the ball away from Mike. Finally, Alejandro and Mike, while staying far away from each other, kept making succesful passes to each other while advancing towards the goal. When Alejandro was about to take a shot, Duncan's interference messed up the angle enough for the ball to only hit DJ in the face as opposed to getting in the goal.
"Ok, we gotta do something about Alejandro and Mike. They're pretty much carrying that team." Duncan said to the team. They were all together talking during the break.
"Any ideas for what to do?" Geoff asked.
"Maybe we should amp up our defense?" Scott suggested. "If more of us are near the goal, it'll be harder for them to have an opening."
"But they'll still win thanks to the goals they already scored." Zoey pointed out.
"By the way, I've been meaning to ask you. What's with the black eye?" Leshawna asked Scott.
"He got into a fight with Alejandro when he tried to psyche DJ out." Duncan answered.
"Whoa, really?" Bridgette asked.
"You didn't need to start a fight with him you know man." DJ said to Scott.
"Don't worry about it. Anyway, anybody got a plan?" Scott asked.
Bridgette snapped her fingers. "I think I have an idea."
The camera zoomed over to Team Heather, huddling up. "Great work guys. But we can't be too careless. Alejandro, Mike? You guys feel like you need a break from attacking?" Heather asked.
"I can go on the offense if either of you guys are tired." Sky offered.
Alejandro smiled. "I have more than enough energy to keep going."
"Same here." Mike said.
Sky was disappointed, but hid it. "Don't worry Sky." Alejandro said.
"Huh?" Evidently, Sky didn't do the best job at hiding her disappointment.
"Me and Mike continuing to pass to each other would be too obvious. If we do it again, they'll be more likely to block it. Meaning that we'll be passing to the rest of you far more often."
This got Sky to be more hopeful. Heather just smiled. "Great. Remember guys. No matter what happens, what's important is that we do our best!" Heather said.
"Who are you?" Harold asked.
Chef blew his whistle, and the second half of the game began. This time, Heather was starting the kick-off. She kicked to Alejandro, who started to head towards the Blades' goal, Sky running alongside him. Zoey, Scott and Geoff ran towards Alejandro, but Alejandro kicked the ball between Scott's legs, Sky leaping over the farm boy and dribbling the ball towards the goal.
"What the-?" Geoff and Scott ran to Sky, but Sky was nearing the goal. However, Zoey was running toward Team Heather's goal despite not having the ball.
"Oooh, is Team Heather gonna get to goal 3 already?" Chris asked.
"Don't think so." Bridgette ran towards Sky and kicked the ball, causing it to roll to Duncan.
"It's all you buddy!" Duncan gently kicked the ball towards DJ.
DJ smiled and gave a powerful kick to the ball, causing it to fly to Team Heather's side of the field. "Zoey, now!"
Team Heather noticed that Zoey was completely unguarded. Zoey jumped into the air and kicked the ball towards the goal. B jumped to where it was heading, but the ball was too fast for him. The ball made it into the net.
"And the Blades get their first point!" Chef announced.
The Blades all cheered, though Scott's was more hollow.
"We're fired up, we're sizzling hot. We've got the heat, and we won't stop!" Sammy cheered.
Contrary to the cheer however, the Blades were struggling to score any more goals. They kept on the offense against Team Heather by repeatedly passing to DJ and having him kick the ball to the other end of the field, but Team Heather were prepared for it after the first time. A lot of the times that the Blades tried to shoot towards the goal, it was blocked by either Alejandro, Mike, or Sky. Unfortunately, it seemed like Team Heater had the overall most athletic team mates.
"Less than a minute left! Can the Blades tie it up?" Chris asked.
B threw the ball towards Alejandro, who passed to Sky. Sky manuevered around Bridgette and ran down the field.
"It looks like Team Heather is finally able to go on the defensive this half!" Chris yelled.
Suddenly, Zoey slide kicked the ball away from Sky, causing the gymnast to trip on the ground. When she lannded, she felt something spray over her body.
"Sorry." Zoey told her. She began to dribble the ball down towards the Blades' own goal, once again.
"Not happening!" Sky tried to stand up, but he found that she was stuck to the ground. "What the-?"
"Not all mines are explosive! Some are filled with stuff like custom made Super Glue." Chris told her. "Wait a couple minutes for it to dissolve."
"Super Glue?!" Sky repeated.
"You good for another kick DJ?" Zoey asked.
DJ nodded. He gave another powerful kick, sending the ball flying towards Team Heather's side. "Scott, it's all you!" He yelled.
Heather gasped and turned around. Once again, there was position on their side of the field that was unguarded because they were too busy focusing on the offense. "No!" Heather tried to run towards Scott, but it was too late. The ball landed at Scott's feet.
"And Scott has the ball!" Chris stated.
Scott took a look at the goal, smirked, and gave a hard kick.
It hit the side of the goal and ricocheted off the field. "No!" Scott yelled.
Chef blew the whistle. "And that's the first game! Team Heather wins at 2 to 1. Soon, Team Heather will be up against the Strawberry Shortcakes." Chris declared.
(Confessional: Sky)
"I know we won, but I'm kinda disappointed that I was completely upstaged by Alejandro and Mike that game. I'll just have to make up for it next time."
Duncan groaned in annoyance at the loss.
"Hey, it's no big deal. We can win the next one, and it's not like Heather's team had that big a lead on us." Geoff said.
"Hey, good game out there." Mike told Zoey.
"Thanks. You too." Zoey and Mike hugged each other before Zoey walked off the field.
Alejandro and Scott looked at each other and gave silent smirks.
"Ha! In your face Samey!" Amy gloated.
"So, next game I cheer for Team Heather, right?" Sammy asked Chris.
"Yup. And Amy will cheer for the Shortcakes" The host answered. "Give the interns a few minutes to restock or redig any traps that were triggered during the game.
Amy started to get annoyed at being ignored by her twin again. "Grrrr."
After Chris gave the all clear that the interns were done restocking the traps, the Strawberry Shortcakes got off the bleachers and started to head to the field while most of the Blades started to head towards the bleachers. Brody walked up to Geoff and Bridgette. "Good game out there. Bummer that you lost though." He told them.
"No biggie. And like Geoff said, it's not like it was by that much." Bridgette replied.
"Fair enough. And hopefully, you guys can win in the third game."
"Totally. Thanks man." Geoff and Brody fistbumped each other as Brody walked to the field.
"...He does realize that his team is the one we'll be facing in the third game, right?" Bridgette asked.
"Wait, really? Oh yeah, it is." Geoff realized.
Bridgette groaned and walked towards the bleachers.
As DJ was walking, he felt a nudge on his arm. "Alright dude, now's your chance." Duncan told him.
"Huh?"
Geoff walked by and tilted his head towards Dawn. "Your chance to make a move on Dawn bro. She's probably the only contestant who likes animals more than you do."
"Ok fellas, first of all, me and her haven't said two words to each other. Besides, I'm sure she's nice, but she's too spooky for me, no offense to her."
"None taken." Dawn said, suddenly popping up next to the three.
"Augh!" DJ yelled in shock.
"By the way DJ, he won't say it out loud, but Chef Hatchet felt proud of you for helping your team score." Dawn then walked off to her team's side of the field.
"...You see my point? That said Duncan, there anybody you think it's time for YOU to make a move on?"
Geoff turned to Duncan. "Last challenge DID show that Gwen likes somebody on the yacht last challenge. Odds are, it's either you or Trent."
"Then it's probably Trent. Come on guys, you saw how there was no spark left during All-Stars, right?" Duncan responded.
Suddenly, the three remaining Blades heard a whistle. "You babies goona stand on the field and gossip all day?! Get on the bleachers!" Chef yelled.
As Owen was walking towards the field, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Emma and Noah behind him. "So, Noah said that you had a strategy?" Emma said.
"Huh?"
"You know. The plan you told me and Gwen about back when we were getting water." Noah hinted at.
"Oh, right. I was thinking that you and Gwen would be the strikers and mostly do diagonal movements so that it would be harder for the enemy to intercept you guys. And since neither me or Noah are really athletic, Noah could switch out for me in the second half in case I get tired." Owen said to Emma.
"Alright. Anything else?" Emma asked.
"Um...well..."
Emma sighed. "Owen, you need to try harder when coming up with strategies. What you just said was basic formation. That's not gonna do much to catch he other team off guard. Especially when one of them is practically a professional soccer player." Emma walked away.
(Confessional: Noah)
"I...kinda feel like that was my fault."
Soon, the second game was ready to begin. Kitty was serving as the Shortcake's goalie due to Emma believing Owen wouldn't do a good job as one, while B was continuing to serve as Team Heather's goalie. Noah was sitting on a bench, ready to switch out for whichever teammate got tired. Heather won the coin toss, so her team was starting the kick off.
"We've got spirit! Come on, let's hear it! We're gonna high gear it, 'cause we got spirit!" Sammy cheered.
Amy said nothing as she continued to glare at Sammy.
Chris cleared his throat. "Amy? Your cheer?"
"Huh? Oh, right. Rah, rah...I'll think of something later."
Chef blew the whistle, and the game started. Heather kicked the ball towards Mike, who ran towards the Shortcakes' goal. Gwen tried to catch up to Mike steal the ball from him, but Mike passed the ball to Alejandro as she was gaining on him.
"Not this time!" Before the ball reached Alejandro, Emma took it and dribbled it down to Team Heather's side of the field. She didn't get too far though. Sierra ran to her and kicked the ball as Emma was dribbling it, causing it to roll off the field.
Chef blew his whistle. "Out of bounds! One of you Shortcakes throw it in!"
Trent volunteered for the throw in, picking up the ball and getting ready to throw it in. Owen had his hands on his knees, panting, already exhausted after a couple minutes of play. Emma was guarded heavily by Alejandro, Sky, and Mike, while Gwen was guarded by Sierra. Dawn and Brody were both open, but were closer to the Shortcakes' own goal than Team Heather's goal. But it looked like that was going to be Trent's best shot.
"Sky, perhaps it would be better if you strengthened the defense at our goal." Alejandro whispered.
"No way. I gotta make up for last game." Sky replied.
"But we WON last game." Mike pointed out. Sky ignored him.
Sierra's guard relaxed, leaving the opportunity Gwen needed. Gwen bolted away from them, Sierra not noticing for a good second or two.
"She's open!" Emma pointed out.
"Huh?" Trent turned and saw Gwen wide open, Heather only starting to close in on her. "Oh! Go for it Gwen!"
Trent tossed the soccer ball towards Gwen who started to dribble it down towards Team Heather's goal, Harold and Heather standing near it to help B defend.
Harold did a karate pose as Gwen approached the goal. "You shall not pass!"
Harold and Heather charged at Gwen. "Over there!" Emma yelled. Gwen took a look behind her and saw that the only team mate close to her was Emma, who was too close to the rest of Team Heather. Emma then pointed to Trent, who was close by and wide open.
Gwen nodded as she stopped dribbling, took a breath, and turned to Trent. Unfortunately, that gave Harold ample time to steal the ball from under her foot. "What the-?!"
"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee! You can't stop what you can't-" Harold tripped over himself, causing Trent to take the ball. Heather, B, and Alejandro all facepalmed.
Trent didn't make it very far though. As he was dribbling the ball towards Team Heather's goal, he suddenly felt the ground become incredibly slippery causing himself and the ball to slide off the field.
"Hit one of our oil traps. Tough luck bro." Chris said.
Chef blew on his whistle. "Alright Team Heather, you get a free throw!"
Sierra started to walk off field, preparing for the free throw. Meanwhile, Emma walked up to Gwen. "Um, what was that?"
"Harold stole the ball from me. I'll try to make sure that-" Gwen began to say.
"Yeah, that wasn't simply getting the ball stolen from you. Why couldn't you have just passed to Trent without being a sitting duck?"
Gwen shrugged. "Sorry, I made a mistake."
"Yeah, everybody messes up sometimes." Trent said, walking up to the two.
Emma groaned. "Just try to make sure it doesn't happen again." Emma walked away, going towards Mike to try and block him.
(Confessional: Gwen)
"I'm not gonna lie. I don't think I'm a fan of Emma. She's not Heather levels of bad, but I don't exactly see myself being friends with her anytime soon."
The camera cut to Brody dribbling the ball down the field, only for him to fall in a pitfall. The ball kept rolling, and was taken by Alejandro. Alejandro dribbled the ball down before he took a shot towards the Shortcakes' goal, Kitty barely being able to reach it in time. Unfortunately, the ball hit her hands with too much froce for her to catch it, causing it to to deflect off her hands. Alejandro took another shot immediately afterwards, this time, succesfully getting it into the net.
"And the score is 3-0 in Team Heather's favor!" Chris announced.
"Crap!" Kitty yelled.
"Don't worry, you're a fine goalie. I've just had more practice in soccer than you have." Alejandro said. Kitty said nothing. She knew Alejandro's compliments were just his way to earn her trust so that he could manipulate her in the future.
Chef blew his whistle. "Alright, it's time the break again."
Dawn pulled Brody out of the pitfall while the rest of the Shortcakes were huddling together.
"I think I speak for everyone when I say we're doing badly out there." Emma said.
"And it's not like our cheerleader is exactly helping." Noah pointed out.
"What's WITH you losers?! Ugh, we'll never beat Samey's team if you don't step up your game!" Amy yelled at the Shortcakes from afar.
"Does it count as a foul if I'm violent towards someone who isn't a player?" Gwen asked.
"Focus. We need to come up with a plan. Owen, any ideas?" Emma asked.
Owen suddenly collapsed on the ground, panting. "Noah...will switch with me...no good if...can't move..." He said.
"Dude, how are you so exhausted already? It's been 10 minutes." Trent pointed out.
"This game has...has a lot more running than Dodgeball. A lot, LOT more..."
Noah shrugged. "I'll switch out for Owen, but as a heads up, sports aren't my strong suit."
"Back on topic, does anybody have a plan?" Emma asked.
Dawn and Brody walked over after Dawn finished pulling Brody out of the pit. "Actually, Brody came up with a good idea while I was pulling him out of the hole."
"...From Brody?" Noah asked.
"Yeah, I was surprised too." Brody said. Brody explained the plan to the Shortcakes.
"Hmm. That could help us get second place." Trent said.
"But that means it's guaranteed that Team Heather is winning the challenge." Noah pointed out.
"Are you ok with that then Emma?" Kitty asked.
Emma looked uneasy, but she turned to the rest of the team. Dawn's kicks were weak, Brody did little more than charge forward, Owen got exhausted too quickly, and Trent and Gwen, while both decent players, their past baggage caused them to delay passes to each other. Emma let out a sigh. "Alright. Noah, stay here on the bench. You'll play against the Blades when we put Brody's plan into action. Make sure to pay attention to everyone's movements."
"If it means putting off exercise, count me in." Noah replied.
"Owen, I know you're exhausted, but you have to tough it up if we want to win. We need to cover up as much space as possible, and not many people are as good as taking blows as you are. Can you do it?" Emma asked.
Owen took a breath before slowly standing up. "I'll...I'll try my best!"
"Alright Shortcakes, break!"
(Confessional: Trent)
"Emma's pretty intense, but honestly, she's probably the most suited to be leader out of anyone on the team. If she was better at knowing when to tone it down, I'd probably nominate her to lead the team if I could."
Soon, the teams were back on the field for the second half of the game. "Come on team! Fight the fight! Show the other team our might!" Sammy cheered.
Amy turned to the bleachers that the Blades were sitting in. "When I say Shortcakes, you say go! Shortcakes!"
"Go!" Geoff shouted.
"Shortcakes!"
"Go!"
"Rooting for the team you'd rather win?" Scott asked Geoff.
"Well kinda, but also, who doesn't wanna keep the energy going?"
Chef blew the whistle, marking the start of the second half of the game. Emma passed to Gwen, who started dribbling the ball down Team Heather's side of the field. Mike quickly stole the ball from her and dribbled it down to the Shortcakes' side of the field.
"Go for it Mike!" Zoey cheered.
"You realize that if Heather's team wins a second game then we can't get first place, right?" Leshawna asked.
"Well yeah but...sorry. It just feels wrong to root against Mike, you know? Especially since I've been on the same team as him twice."
"Girl, let me tell you something. It's absolutely fine to be dating someone on the other team, but that doesn't mean supporting your boyfriend is mutually exclusive with trying to win the challenge."
"Speaking of that, is it just me, or does it look like the Shortcakes have given up?" Bridgette asked.
Upon a closer look at the field, it did look like the Shortcakes weren't really trying. None of them have tried to steal the ball from Mike or get in his way. They were just running around aimlessly on both sides of the field, occasionally triggering pitfalls, explosives, glue traps, or oil traps that caused them to slip. Owen and Trent, due to their general unluckimess, were by far triggering the most, being knocked around by land mines like nobody's business. The only one who seemed to be trying was Kitty, who was occasionally blocking shots, but without the other team aiding on defense, it was inevitable that Team Heather racked up goals.
"Umm...is there something I'm missing here?" Chris asked.
Amy stared at the Shortcakes, dumbfounded. "What...are they...doing?!"
Brody was pacing back and forth around the dividing line of the field. "Doesn't look like there's anythi-" Brody was interupted as a large spring hidden in the grass shot upwards, launching Brody out of the stadium. "WHOOOOAAAAAA!"
"Huh. Forgot we put that trap there." Chris said.
Soon, Chef blew the whistle. "The score is 7-0. Obviously, Team Heather is the winning team!"
"And with two wins, Team Heather gets first place in the challenge!" Chris declared.
"Alright!" Harold and Sierra cheered.
Sky walked up to the Shortcakes, annoyed. "What was that? You didn't even try in the second half."
"Why do you care? Your team gets to stay in the yacht now." Gwen replied.
"That doesn't mean I'd want to win against a team that isn't even trying."
"It was part of a stra-" Owen began to say. Emma elbowed Owen to get him to stop talking.
"Don't worry about it. Just enjoy first place." Emma told Sky.
Sky's glare didn't soften, but she walked away.
Sky wasn't the only one angered at the Shortcakes' easy loss. Amy was fuming, before turning to Sammy. "Don't get cocky Samey! Both of us cheered for a winning team, but next game, you're gonna be cheering for those loser Shortcakes! Ha!"
"Cool." Sammy answered. She sat down on the bench and started drinking from a bottle of water. This caused Amy to get even angrier. She eyed a nearby soccer ball, picked it up, and tossed it at Sammy, hitting her in the face and knocking her to the ground.
"How do you like THAT?!" Amy gloated. She suddenly found herself hit in the back of the head by a soccer ball. "OW! Who the-?!"
"Girl, I just met you, and you're already getting on my last nerve." Leshawna said, wiping her hands.
Kitty walked towards Sammy, passing by Amy in the process. "Ditto." Kitty said. She then helped Sammy stand up. "Seriously, you shouldn't have to put up with that."
"Ugh...thanks, but I'm fine." Sammy said. "Like I said, she's not worth it."
"That doesn't mean it's ok for her to treat you like crap."
"Look, I appreciate the concern, but trying to get even with Amy will just make things worse in the long one. I know from experience. Just ignore her."
Kitty wanted to argue against that, but decided to just leave the matter be.
Brody came walking into the stadium once again. "Dude, are you ok?!" Geoff asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Turns out that they have a giant trampoline ready to catch you. But that was totally sick!"
Geoff was relieved that his friend wasn't hurt, and then let out a smile. "Sounds like it was a sweet ride, huh?"
"Dude, you should totally try it out sometime."
"Right on!" Geoff and Brody fistbumped each other.
"Ahem." Emma said. She and the rest of the Shortcakes were huddled together.
"Oh yeah. Gotta talk strategy with my team. Catch ya on the field bro." Brody said to Geoff. He walked up to his team. "So Noah. You know where the traps were?"
Noah nodded. and pointed at the field, the interns restocking the activated traps "Now, to wait and watch."
About 15 minutes passed, and the traps were restocked, pitfalls were covered again, and the spring that launched Brody was back in place. The Blades and Shortcakes got on the field for the final game. This time, Noah was on the field, while Owen was lying on the bench.
"Alright, this will be the last game. Whoever loses is gonna be voting of a teammate tonight." Chris said.
Duncan and Noah walked towards Chef for the coin toss. "You maggots ready?" Chef asked. "Heads means that scrawny kid starts the kick off. Tails means the delinquent kicks it off."
"Tails never fails." Duncan said.
"Except for about half of all coin tosses." Noah replied.
Chef flipped the coin, caught it, and slammed it on the back of his other hand. It was Heads. "The Shortcakes kick it off!"
Noah put his foot on the ball and passed it to Gwen. Gwen started to dribble it down the Blades' side of the field, first moving diagonally before going in a straight line. However, the ball was soon stolen from her by Leshawna.
"Sorry girl, but don't expect me to go easy on-" Leshawna was interrupted as she felt her feet stick to the ground. "Oh, come on!"
The ball rolled to Emma, who dribbled the ball sideways before advancing towards the Blades' goal in a diagonal motion. Zoey ran up towards her before she suddenly fell into a pit.
"Ouch. Two traps in a row in under 10 seconds? Tough break Blades." Chris said.
Geoff ran towards Emma to try and stop her from shooting, but Emma simply stopped running. Geoff was confused, but continued. Big mistake. Another landmine was set off, blasting Geoff off the field. Emma continued to run towards the goal, easily manuevering around Scott, before taking a shot. DJ tried to block, but stumbled and fell to the ground due to his injured legs. The amount of kicks he did during the first game put them under too much strain again.
"And the Shortcakes get the first point!" Chris declared.
Amy's mouth dropped.
"Hit 'em, hit 'em, smack 'em down! We're the Shortcakes, and we'll take you to town!" Sammy cheered.
Leshawna finally got out of the glue trap. "What was that? It was like they knew where the traps were."
(Confessional: Noah)
"The plan was for us to trigger as many traps as possible during the first game whie I pay attention to where they were triggered, along with where the interns restocked them just in case they were put in different places. Gotta hand it to Brody, it was uncharacteristically smart of him."
(Confessional: Brody)
"My mom always told me to learn from my mistakes. And I make a LOT of mistakes. So I figured, why not put that motto to good use for my team?"
Scott walked up to Leshawna and Duncan. "Hey, you saw what happened with DJ, right? He couldn't even go for the ball without collapsing."
Leshawna nodded. "All the kicks he did from the goal back in the first game must be doing a number on him."
"Guess we shouldn't rely on that plan this game then." Duncan said.
It was the Blades' turn to kick it off, Duncan passing to Zoey, and the two of them, along with Bridgette, all running down the Shortcakes' side of the field together. When Gwen tried to run to steal the ball from Zoey, she passed to Bridgette before Gwen reached. When Trent began to catch up with Bridgette, she passed to Duncan.
"Will the Blades be able to tie things up?" Chris asked.
Duncan took a shot at the goal, but Dawn got in the way, deflecting the ball with her foot and causing it to roll off the field. Chef blew his whistle. "The Blades get a corner kick."
"Works for me." Duncan said. He ran off the field, and prepared for the corner kick. He saw that Zoey was guarded by Gwen and Dawn while Bridgette was guarded by Emma, Trent, and Noah. Since they both guarded pretty heavily, they weren't the best options. He then took a look at the third closest teammate.
"I'm telling you man, when I was launched, I'd have been able to see my house from up there if I lived in Spain." Brody told Geoff.
"Nice. I gotta try the spring trap for myself some time." Geoff responded.
Duncan kicked the ball in Geoff's direction. "It's all you!" Duncan immediately ran towards the direction he kicked it.
"Huh?" Geoff turned to the direction Duncan yelled out, the ball rickocheting off of Geoff's shin guard. "Oh, right!" Geoff ran towards the rolling ball. Brody suddenly remebered they were in a game, and followed Geoff. However, Geoff reached the ball first.
"Crap!" Emma yelled. She started to run towards Geoff, but by then, he already kicked the ball to Duncan who was wide open. Good thing he did too. Less than a second afterwards, Geoff ran into a mine.
The delinquent took a shot at the Shortcakes' goal, Kitty failing to block it in time. "And the Killer Blades tie things up!" Chris declared.
"Brody! What was that?!" Emma yelled at him.
"Sorry. I was busy telling Geoff about the sick launch that happened to me during the other game." Brody replied.
Geoff walked up, charred. "Guess we should probably be more focused on the challenge, huh."
"Yeah, I feel that. Buuuuut, want me to show you the spring trap during half time?"
"Dude, that sounds gnarly!" Geoff fistbumped Brody. Emma groaned and walked away.
The rest of the first half of the game were a back and forth of goals. The Blades quickly got a second goal thanks to a good fake out from Leshawna, making Trent and Gwen think she was going to pass to Bridgette to cause them to run towards her before simply taking a shot at the goal. Noah and Gwen scored the Shortcakes a second point soon after, Noah leading Leshawna and Duncan into a pitfall before passing to Gwen, who scored on DJ. Dawn helped Emma score a third point by deliberately kicking the ball into a mine, causing it to blast to the Blades' side of the field where Emma was, who got the Shortcakes their third point. Lastly, Bridgette and Zoey scored the Blades their third point when Bridgette hit the ball upwards with her head, Zoey kicking the ball into the Shortcakes' goal from the air.
Chef blew his whistle. "Alright, take your break before the second half of the game begins. Or more accurately, the sudden death round."
"Wait, sudden death?" Trent asked.
"Do yo got gunk in your ears boy? It means that the next team to score a point wins the game, and avoids last place."
"Yeah, our rental time for the stadium is running low, and we need to give the interns a lot of time to remove the traps in Camp Nou. If any of them turn out in an official soccer game, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen." Chris said.
The Blades huddled up together. "Ok, guys, we can't let them score a goal on us no matter what." Bridgette said.
"Maybe we should use the DJ kick plan?" Geoff asked.
"Dude, we've been over this. All the time he did that against Heather's team strained his leg. He can barely even go after the ball without falling." Scott replied.
DJ started to feel guilty.
(Confessional: DJ)
"I've been giving it my all this game. I don't want to drag my team down like I did in Season 3. But the whole challenge, I've been wondering 'am I a burden because of my injury?' So I decided that enough was enough."
"Ya'll, it's fine. I can do it." DJ said.
Zoey and Bridgette looked at DJ in worry. "Are you sure?" Bridgette asked.
"First opportunity you get, pass the ball to me. I'll kick it across the field and have Zoey kick it to the goal from above just like we did to Team Heather."
Geoff put a hand on DJ's shoulder. "You are one brave dude, dude."
The camera panned to the Shortcakes huddling up. "Noah, how many traps are left that haven't been triggered already?" Emma asked.
Noah wiped off some sweat from his forehead. He was getting a bit tired himself. "An oil trap at the bottom right of the center circle from our side of the field, a glue trap at the upper left of our goal, and the spring trap near the middle of the field." Noah answered.
"Hmm. Could be tough to get use out of."
"Also, considering how it's all or nothing, I have a feeling they're gonna do the DJ-Zoey combo kick they pulled on Heather's team." Gwen said. "And since the Blades are starting the kickoff, they can get to their own goal to pass to DJ easily.
"Should we focus on defense at the beginning then?" Dawn asked.
"Hmm. I think I have an idea. Any of you guys cool with switching roles with me?" Kitty asked.
Trent raised his hand. "I'm cool with switching."
Emma turned to Brody. "You'll be the goalie."
"Um...Trent just said that-" Gwen began to say.
"Brody, you get distracted too easily when you're with Geoff. We're keeping you apart from him."
Brody shrugged. "That's fair."
"I'm doing better now. Should I switch for somebody?" Owen asked.
"Not happening Owen. Too much of a risk." Emma answered.
Emma didn't seem to realize how harsh she came off as, but the rest of the team did. Owen sadly sat back down on the bench, and the rest of the team looked pretty uncomfortable. Except for Gwen. She was simply looking angry.
(Confessional: Gwen)
"It's official. I can't stand Emma. She's bossy, stuck up, and puts her competitive nature above any kind of basic human decency. There's wanting to win, and then there's just being obnoxious."
Soon, the teams returned to the field, Brody now being a goalie instead of Kitty. Amy and Sammy were continuing to cheer for the teams. Duncan was starting the kickoff for the second half of the game.
"Remember. The first team that scores a point wins the game, and gets second place in the challenge overall. The other team is sending somebody home." Chris said.
Chef blew the whistle. "Play!"
Duncan immediately turned around and started dribbling the ball down his side of the field. Meanwhile, Zoey was running down the Shortcakes' side of the field.
"Gwen was right!" Dawn stated.
"Ok guys, remember the plan!" Emma yelled. The Shortcakes ran towards their goal, the six of them all covering various areas nearby it.
Zoey looked worried.
"Looks like the Shortcakes are prepared for that crazy DJ kick." Heather said from the bleachers.
"Makes sense. They did already see the Blades pull that off against our team." Alejandro stated.
"Hold up there string bean." Leshawna told Duncan. "Looks like Zoey is having trouble getting in position."
Duncan stopped dribbling and turned around. Sure enough, it looked like all the areas to get a good shot at the goal were being covered by a member of the Strawberry Shortcakes.
"He stopped moving!" Kitty yelled. She immediately made a dash towards the ball.
"Kitty wait!" Emma yelled.
Zoey suddenly noticed the corner that wasn't covered by anybody. Zoey ran towards the area.
"Alright, she's open now!" DJ exclaimed.
Duncan nodded, and gave a light pass to DJ. Sure enough, DJ gave the ball one last powerful kick. "Aughh!" He yelled and kneeled down on one leg.
"DJ!" Duncan, Geoff, and Bridgette yelled simultaneously.
DJ took a few breaths. "I'm fine ya'll. Now all we need to do is-" DJ stopped talking as he noticed that Zoey didn't jump for the ball. It simply wizzed past her head before bouncing off the field.
Chef blew the whistle. "Out! The Shortcakes get a goal kick!"
"What the...Zoey!" Scott yelled.
"My feet are stuck!" Zoey yelled. "I think it's another glue trap!"
Kitty fistpumped the air. "Oh yeah!"
Emma ran up to Kitty and high fived her. "The bluff worked out. Great move Kitty!"
Bridgette suddenly noticed something. "Wait, is Kitty barefoot?"
Zoey took a look down and saw that, not only was there super glue underneath her feet, but a pair of soccer shoes. "I get it. Kitty took off her shoes when she was running towards the ball. She activated the glue trap beforehand, and made us think it wasn't active."
"Whoa-ho-ho. Devious play by Kitty." Chris said. "Now that the Shortcakes will put the ball black in play, and with their goalie injured, will the Blades be able to turn things around."
"Oh my gag, I swear, you better not get us to lose to Samey twice in a row!" Amy yelled.
"Who's got spirit? We do! We do! We've got spirit, yeah it's true!" Sammy cheered.
Brody had his hand on the ball, ready for a goal kick. "Sorry you can't do that sky high soccer shoot dudes. Here it goes!" Brody tossed the ball in the air and gave it a kick, the ball flying towards Trent who began to dribble it down the field.
"Sorry bro!" Geoff immediately stole the ball from Trent, and started to dribble it the opposite direction. "Here it goes!" Geoff dribbled the ball towards the left of the center of the field. "Don't think we can't pull off that move again, eh Brody?"
Brody noticed what Geoff was doing and smiled. "GO FOR IT BRO!"
"Go for what?" Noah asked.
Geoff reached a point of the dividing line, and was launched upwards by the spring trap alongside the ball.
"SKY-HIGH SHOOOOOOOOT!" Geoff yelled. Unfortunately for Geoff, as he learned the hardway, trying to kick a ball down to the ground while being launched out a soccer stadium wasn't exactly an easy thing to do. In fact, the ball seemed to be moving away from Geoff due the differences in their weight when they were launched. "Uh-oh." Geoff said.
The camera cut back to the stadium. "Well...I ain't waiting for party boy to come back." Chef said as he got out yet another soccer ball.
(Confessional: Scott)
"I didn't plan that...but I'm not complaining."
Once again, the Shortcakes got a goal kick, Zoey now out of the glue trap, and Kitty wearing her shoes again. Brody kicked the ball to Dawn, who dribbled it down the field. "Emma!" Dawn kicked to Emma, but unfortunately, the pass was slow. Leshawna got in the way of the pass and dribbled it back down to the Shortcakes' side of the field, running alongside Duncan.
"Go for it Leshawna!" Harold cheered from the bleachers.
Right when Leshawna was about to pass to Duncan, Duncan suddenly slipped and fell to the ground. "Argh! Another oil trap. Great."
Leshawna simply kept running to the Shortcakes' goal, but suddenly had the ball stolen from her by Gwen. "Sorry Leshawna, but we plan on winning." Gwen dribbled the ball towards the Blades' side of the field. Duncan tried to stand up to intercept her, but slipped and fell again.
"Come on..." Owen said from the bench.
Right when Zoey and Bridgette were about to intercept her, Gwen noticed someone in the corner of her eye.
"Trent, now!" Without hesitation, Gwen passed the ball to Trent.
"Kick that ball right in the goal. C'mon Trebt , be the star of the show!" Sammy cheered.
Trent took a shot at the goal. DJ, with all his strength, used his crutches to propel himself in the direction of the ball.
"Block the ball! Block them all!" Amy chanted, though notable more frantic.
DJ extended his arms to block the ball. The Shortcakes, Blades, and Team Heather all watched eagerly at what would happen.
The ball made it's way in the net.
"And the Strawberry Shortcakes take second place!" Chris declared.
The Shortcakes all cheered at the announcement. The Blades, minus Geoff who was launched out of the stadium, were understandably disappointed. Though Amy was the most upset of all.
"Ugh! Can't believe I lost to Samey." Amy said.
"You weren't even competing." Heather pointed out.
"Hey! When you're a cheerleader, you put yourself out there with the team you support." Amy countered.
"I actually agree with her on that." Sammy said. "But I don't think that really applies when we're assigned to cheer for each of the teams at different points."
"Alright Blades, I'll be seeing you guys tonight at elimination." Chris said.
(Confessional: DJ)
DJ wiped a tear from his eye. "I wish I could have done more. I wanted to show that I wasn't dead weight to the team. I guess Alejandro was right."
(Confessional: Geoff)
"So apparently we lost. Bummer. I don't really hold it against anyone for the loss, so I'm not sure who to vote for. I'll probably just throw my vote away by voting for someone who I don't think anyone else will vote for."
Owen was sitting down at the refreshments stand, sadly eating from a bag of chips.
"You ok?" A voice asked. Owen looked up and saw Sky.
"Oh. You're the one from Pahkitew Island, right?"
Sky nodded and sat down. "I could tell you were upset. What happened?"
Owen sighed. "I know my team avoided last place and all, but...I never realized how useless I was before now. I didn't contribute much of anything, and I was pretty much a liability to my team. When I offered to put myself out there during the sudden death round against the Blades, Emma shot that down as a risk"
"I'm...kinda going through something simiilar. Not to the same extent as you of course, but I really felt useless to my team this challenge too."
"But your team won." Owen pointed out.
"Yeah, but it's not like I helped out. Alejandro and Mike pretty much carried us this challenge. Pretty much everytime an opponent tried to stop a play of mine, they'd succeed. I'm an aspiring olympian, but to be overshadowed so clearly...it kinda hurts."
Owen said nothing, but offered Sky some chips from his bag. Sky gave a slight smile, and started to each chips alongside Owen.
Duncan left the locker room, now in his regular clothes. "Hey leader. Me and Leshawna wanted to talk with you about tonight's vote."
Duncan turned around and saw Scott and Leshawna standing outside. "What's up?"
"Me and Scott are kinda at a split for who we're voting off." Leshawna said. "Scott thinks it would be best to vote off DJ because of his injuries, but I think that the brother shown guts this challenge, AND still shown that he can help our team out."
"And Leshawna thinks we should vote out Geoff because, along with not doing much of note, he stupidly got himself out of the game by the end. Brody dumbs the guy down even when he's on another team." Scott said.
"So, why are you talking to me about this?" Duncan asked.
"Because you have the leader vote man."
"Yeah. Out of eight possible votes, we'll have haf of them right here if we agree on someone." Leshawna said.
Duncan shrugged. Made sense. "Alright. Gimme a bit." Duncan thought it over. "Alright. Here's who we're voting off tonight."
The camera cut to the Blades' cabin cruiser at night time. The Blades were sitting on stools, Chris holding up a plate of shrimp. Amy and Sammy were also standing near Chris, likely to catch a ride home alongside the loser. "Two in a row huh? Hopefully you guys don't become a second Team Victory."
"Just get on with it already." Leshawna said.
"Yeah, I want to go home already." Amy said.
Chris shrugged as he picked up a piece of shrimp. "Leshawna, you're safe." Chris tossed a shrimp at Leshawna, who caught it. "Duncan, Bridgette. You're also safe." The two Blades caught the shrimps tossed at them.
"...Zoey." Chris tossed the shrimp to the red head. "Scott." Chris tossed the semi-final piece of shrimp at Scott's face, which recoiled to his hand. DJ and Geoff both took a look at the plate. One sole piece of shrimp remained.
"The final shrimp goes to...

DJ."
DJ and Bridgette both gasped. "What?!" DJ asked in shock.
Geoff shrugged. "Makes sense. I did kinda screw up at the end there."
Bridgette stood up. "But...but...no! Geoff can't leave so soon!"
Geoff put a hand on Bridgette's shoulder. "It's all good babe. Besides, I already won a season of Total Drama. I don't mind being voted off early."
"Ridonculous Race ISN'T a Total Drama season!" Chris yelled.
Tears started to steam from Bridgette's eyes. "Geoff...I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too babe." Geoff gave Bridgette a long kiss on the lips before turning to DJ.
"Man, this ain't right. I should be the one going home. All I'm doing is dragging the team down." DJ said.
"Dude, don't let what Alejandro said get to you. You won us the first challenge despite your injuries, and you gave some killer kicks even though you're still healing." Geoff offered a fistbump. "Do your best bruh."
DJ wiped a tear from his eye and fistbumped Geoff back. "I...I will."
Geoff then turned to Duncan. "You too man. Lead this team to victory."
Duncan smiled, stood up, and high fived Geoff. "Take care man."
The boat of losers came by, Chef driving it. "Wait, party boy's the one being elimnated?"
"Yeah. If I knew that, I wouldn't have bothered with the twins. Oh well." Chris said.
"Um...what?" Sammy asked.
"Didn't the guys who picked you up tell you? You two will be hosting the aftermaths. The main reason I got you as cheerleaders was to show you to the audience beforehand"
"Wait, what?!" Both of the two reacted in shock.
"Ah sweet, didn't know there'd be aftermaths this season." Geoff said.
Chris turned to Geoff. "Geoff, since you're a veteran at being an amateur host, you cool with showing these two the ropes during the first Aftermath? It'll be in about three more episodes."
Geoff nodded. "Totally. This is gonna be sweet!"
Sammy sighed. She was hoping that this cameo would be the end of her Total Drama times. Looks like that wasn't the case. Geoff and the twins got into the Boat of Losers before it took off.
"Gotta say, I'm actually gonna miss Geoff. Will DJ stop being a liabiility to his team? Will Owen be able to prove himself as a capable leader? And who's gonna be eliminated next? Find out next time on Total! Drama! Voyage!"

Man, this chapter took a lot out of me. Having to write a chapter that emphasizes more on the action of the challenge, along with it being the longest chapter in the story to date certainly didn't help. It's a huge relief to get it off my back.
When planning the story out, it was initially Brody who was gonna be eliminated by accidentally messing up a challenge due to antics involving him and Geoff. But I decided to have Geoff eliminated first so I could write how Bridgette would react to Brody indirectly causing Geoff's elimination in future chapters. Will she blame the other surfer dude? And how will the rest of the team, especially Gwen, react to Emma's increasingly bossy attitude?
Also, ah-ha! You fools! You thought Sammy would be cut from the fanfic completely didn't you? Yeah, as Chris revealed, there will be aftermaths in this story hosted by the twins, alongside Geoff. Who can imagine the potential chaos that'll occur?
Well, hope you guys enjoyed the chapter and have a great day!
