Cody Fanatic: You're not the only one who's guessing Topher as the thief. Only time will tell where it goes.
CI: Yeah, I had fun giving Brody more moments to shine when he's not with Geoff, but it was his time to go. And yeah, I absolutely loved writing Dawn during the spice challenge.
Mark Levins: Glad you enjoyed the chapter! But yeah, I see what you mean with the Brody stuff. I was actually originally going to have the realization that Bridgette's mad at him be at the end of the restaurant challenge in Chapter 10 to give a bit more time for that rather than just Brody getting a hint, but didn't really have a way to slip the entire realization in.
Rockin' D-99 (Chapter 5 and 7): I found that Sky made for a good victim for one the villains, Heather in this case, due to how she was the only PI contestant, and as a result, the one who'd feel most out of place. However, as the Aftermath shown, just because she's out of the competition, doesn't mean she won't be getting any closure. As for Geoff, the truth or hammer stuff wasn't really meant to show that he's becoming Captain Hollywood again. Truth or hammer seemed to just be a staple in the Aftermaths as it was used in the first Action and first World Tour Aftermaths, before Geoff became and after Geoff got over Captain Hollywood respectively.
One day I'll release chapter without making you guys wait over a third of the year. However, today is not that day. Obligatory apologies for the gap between chapters. Either way, here's the next chapter! Hope you enjoy it!
The camera shown Chris standing in the dining room. "Last time on Total Drama Voyage! Teams were taken to Kochi India, where they put their spice endurance to the test. Some shown their nerves of steel, while others just couldn't take the heat." Footage of the contestants eating various spicy dishes are shown. A brief clip of Dawn calmly finishing ghost peppers is shown, followed by clips of Scott and Harold screaming on the ground in pain.
"Afterwards, teams raced each other to finish delivery routes, and a few bombs were dropped. Not just literally." A clip of the speedboats taking off is shown, interspliced with various clips of explosions caused by Chef's meatballs. "Scott started arming some bombs of his own, convincing our favorite delinquent to vote off Mike, and trying to provoke Mike to hit him in front of everyone. And as bonus, later getting some payback against a long nemesis." Clips of Scott talking with Duncan at the bar, calling out Mike after the spice eating challenge is shown, and finally, him blasting Fang away with an explosive meatball are shown.
"Bridgette dropped a bomb on Brody that not everybody's going to like his carefree atittude. Including her." A clip of Bridgette lecturing Brody on the top deck is shown. "But the biggest bomb came from Gwen, who after some pushing from Kitty, finally revealed that her mystery crush was none other than Duncan." Footage of Kitty talking to Gwen on the speedboat and the SS McLean is shown, being followed up by a clip of Gwen confessing her feelings to Duncan.
"In the end, Brody ultimately got the boot. Because despite taming the spice, he cost time for the team by being nice. And in Noah and Emma's eyes, that ended up being his greatest vice." A clip of Brody chugging down a bottle of Pepper X is shown, followed by a clip of Dawn and Brody pulling Bridgette and Leshawna's smashed speedboat back to the dock. Finally, footage of Brody saying his farewells to the team and boarding the Boat of Losers is shown.
The camera switched back to Chris in the dining room. "Who will-" Chris was interrupted as a ladder hit him in the head. "Ow!"
The camera panned over, revealing Bridgette and Gwen to be holding the ladder, the latter smirking at Bridgette's mistake. "Oh, sorry!" Bridgette said. She and Gwen placed the ladder against a wall before Bridgette climbed up it, and began hanging up party streamers.
"Can you kids quit interrupting my recaps?"
"Not our fault you keep hosting them in places anybody can walk in." Gwen replied.
Chris rolled his eyes. "Who will be sailing home next? Hopefully one of those two. Find out today on Total! Drama! Voyage!"
Leshawna, DJ, Gwen, and Bridgette were in the dining room. DJ finished setting up the final table. "There! We're all ready."
"We finished faster than I thought we would." Leshawna said.
"Brody did some preparation himself last night." Gwen explained
Harold came walking in. "And the word is out."
Bridgette high-fived Harold. "Thanks Harold. Now all we gotta do is wait and see who comes."
Harold smiled, as he pulled out a piece of paper he wrote on. "I don't think anybody will be passing up on the party. Not with invitations like these."
He tossed the invitation to Bridgette. "Party at 9:00, dining hall, food and games..." Bridgette stopped as she read the last line. "Chance to win the immunity idol?"
"I made that last part up." Harold said proudly.
"Yeah. We figured." Gwen replied.
"Harold, what fool is gonna believe that if someone found the invincibility statue, they'd announce it to the whole yacht, and give it up in party games?" Leshawna asked.
On cue, Scott came walking in, a determined smile on his face.
"Yeah. That explains it." Gwen said.
With the exception of Alejandro and Heather, all the remaining contestants were gathered in the dining hall. B was on the stage, installing a monitor on the wall of the stage. Leshawna and Harold were also on the stage dancing together while a nearby machine played music. Noah was reading at the bar section, away from the rest of the competitors. Everybody else was mingling or eating.
Scott was crossing his arms annoyed. Duncan took a break from laughing at Harold and Leshawna's dancing to nudge Scott by the shoulder. "Lighten up man. A party's a party."
"Yeah. A party that doesn't have an invincibility statue."
"Your fault for falling for something like that to begin with."
Scott grunted in annoyance before taking a look at another table. Emma, Kitty, Gwen, Bridgette, Mike, Dawn, and DJ sat together. Various bottles of alcohol were lined up, each holding a shot glass. Kitty was naturally taking a selfie of the table. "Looks like the others are getting more comfortable around Mike now. We gotta get him out quick before he wins the team over." Scott said.
"Relax dude. I convinced DJ to vote out Mike if we lose next time. With your vote and my leader vote, Mike's a guaranteed goner."
"Heh. That's what I like to hear."
"My turn. Never have I ever..." DJ smirked at Bridgette. "Made out in a tanning bed."
"Oh, that's targeting!" Bridgette yelled, but she took a shot with a smile.
"Your turn Dawn." Emma said.
"Hmm...never have I ever destroyed the windshield of my father's car after he divorced my mother?" She asked.
Most of the people at the table gave a confused look to Dawn. "That's...oddly specific." Mike said.
"And accurate." Gwen said, casually taking a shot.
"Dawn, we've been over this. Using your aura reading for this game makes things awkward." Emma told her.
"Oh. My apologies."
Kitty turned to Duncan and Scott. "You guys wanna join in? The more the merrier!" Mike didn't exactly look thrilled about the idea.
Scott shrugged as he walked towards their table. Duncan looked a bit conflicted. "Eh..maybe some other time." Duncan stood up and walked towards the bar section, pouring himself a glass of vodka.
Gwen looked down at the table. She had a feeling she knew why Duncan was turning the offer down.
"I feel like it would be safer to have people around you when you overdose." Noah said as Duncan sat at the bar section.
"Just because you'd pass out with one shot doesn't mean I would." Duncan replied. He then pulled out a book while drinking.
"The Murder of Roger Ackroyd huh? That's one of Agatha Christie's most famous books."
"You can drop the small talk Noah. What do you want?"
"Oh thank God." Noah then tilted his head towards Mike. "Mike's on your team now, right? Meaning you could ask him questions about our Lupin impersonator."
"What, you think Mike's in on it?"
"Not sure. But something happened, and the members of Team Heather seem to know what it's about. Or in his case, former members. Maybe you could find out from Mike what happened to get Chris so on edge."
"And why should I care about this?"
Noah smirked. "You know, that book's ending is considered to be one of the biggest twists in the entirety of the mystery genre."
Duncan widened his eyes and closed the book. "Ugh. Fine. I'll ask Mike if he knows anything."
"Good. Though the best way to get Mike to talk would be to get him to warm up to you."
The camera panned back to the table. "Your turn Scott." DJ said.
"Never have I ever been dumped." He said. Emma and Bridgette both took shots. Mike, after mulling it over, took a shot as well.
"Didn't Courtney break up with you in All-Stars though?" Kitty asked.
"I dumped her. There's a difference."
"Yeah, and you're desperate to get her back." Gwen muttered.
"Nobody was talking to you, gothball."
"Oooh, I'm a goth. Real original."
"Guys, cool it." Bridgette told them.
"Yeah, we're here for a good time." Mike added.
"You're right. Sorry." Gwen said.
"Feh. Whatever." Scott replied.
Suddenly the lights began to flicker, the music dying down. "Umm...we having power issues?" Leshawna asked.
B gave a thumbs up, his sign of telling everyone that things will be alright.
Soon, the lights cut off entirely, the room going pitch black.
"Seriously?" Gwen asked.
A few more seconds passed before the lights came back on in the dining room.
"Huh. Well, at least it didn't last long." Mike said.
"Wait a second. B, does this mean-?" Harold began to ask.
B nodded.
"Oh. I was wondering when it would be set up." Dawn said.
"Um...anybody want to explain this for the people who don't read minds?" Emma asked.
"The karaoke machine is set up!" Harold announced.
"Oooh. I love karaoke!" Kitty exclaimed.
"Don't expect me to sing." Gwen said.
Noah turned to Duncan and tilted his head towards Mike. Duncan shrugged as he walked towards the rest of the contestants.
(Confessional: Noah)
"I'm aiming for every advantage I can get this season. If it turns out one of the contestants is Lupin, then I can rat them out to Chris and have them get the boot. Meaning one less competitor to worry about. And if it turns out the thief is just somehone like an intern or stowaway, I can just haggle Chris for some cash in exchange for the info. Either way works for me."
The camera cut to Heather relaxing in a sauna, towels wrapped around her head and waist. This was easily her favorite part about being on the SS McLean. It's a shame that she had to share it with the losers on the other teams, but at least she didn't have to do chores this time.
Suddenly, something hit Heather on the head. "Ow!" Heather looked down and saw a wall tile on the ground. "Ugh. Figures Chris would cheap out in some areas.
Heather picked up the tile and put it back in place. As she did, she heard some cluttering from inside the wall. "Huh?" Heather started pulling away the tiles and pried away some drywall to discover the source of the noise. She then widened her eyes before giving out a smile.
Dawn and Harold were on the stage, Harold wearing his beanie and sunglasses.
"Like fate scoops up a fish, struggling in a net. Its brittle wings are torn by the tears as it trembles in cold sweat!" Dawn sang.
"You tore your wings now cry!" Harold rapped.
"The spider comes, a thirst in its eyessss"
"A butterfly with no wings is a moth in the flame! Just a rat on the floor with another name!"
"The venomous fangs sink into the soullll."
Kitty, Emma, Bridgette, DJ, Leshawna, and Gwen were at a table watching the two sing. The former four were looking somewhat unnerved at the performance, while Gwen was pleasantly surprised.
"Dawn's taste of music is...unexpectedly morbid." Emma noted.
"Kinda dig it, not gonna lie." Gwen said.
Mike was heading out of the dining room.
"Hey Mike, wait up."
Mike turned his head and saw Duncan walk up to him. "Oh. Um...hey, sorry about-"
"Relax man. Most of us have been through worse. You heading out?"
"Yeah. I'm not much of a karaoke guy, and after the drinking games, I kinda need to lie down."
"I get that. Still kinda weird how we're all on the yacht though, you know? Lupin's really got McLean on edge."
Mike widened his eyes and frowned. "Let me guess. You wonder if I know anything about who the mystery thief is?"
"I could go either way."
Mike rolled his eyes. "If you have to know, apparently Sierra was working with the thief. After she was eliminated, she apologized to Arsene as the boat was leaving."
"Huh. Wasn't expecting that. Thanks man." Duncan walked off.
"...Sure." Mike walked off.
It was the next day. Gwen was getting up from bed in one of the bedrooms while rubbing her head.
"Mornin'!" Kitty cheerfully said, giving Gwen a glass of water.
"Thanks Kitty." Gwen drank from the glass before putting it down.
"How much do you remember about last night?" Kitty asked.
"Pretty much all of it. Why?"
"All of it? You even remember asking out Duncan in front of everyone?"
Gwen dropped the glass in shock. "I DID WHAT?!"
"Ha! Gotcha! Duncan's your mystery crush!"
Gwen widened her eyes and facepalmed. She fell for that hook, line, and sinker.
(Confessional: Kitty)
Kitty chuckled. "Like I said. I have a strong love detector."
Harold was laying in bed, fast asleep. Suddenly, a voice played over the intercoms, waking him uo.
"Rise and shine, sailors. We'll be docking at our next destination in about 40 minutes."
Harold got out of bed, and stretched while letting out a yawn. He then turned to the bed. "We better get ready Leshawna."
"Mph. Literally the worst day for Chris to get us up so early." Leshawna said. Harold started picked up his underwear from the floor as Leshawna rose up from the covers. "Umm...by the way Harold..."
"I know. You still want to keep it secret that we're together again."
"Half right. But I'm also saying we're not together."
Harold was surprised. "Huh?"
"Look, I like you. A lot. But I dunno if we're ready to get back together. It's still too fast."
Surprisingly, Harold smiled. "Don't worry. I know you're not ready yet. But you don't have to rush. For love, I'll wait until the end of time."
Leshawna smiled. "Thanks Harold baby." She gave Harold a peck on the cheek before getting out of bed and heading to the showers. After she left, Harold let out a sigh.
The camera cut to the contestants standing on the beach shore of an island. Not too far away from the cost was a prarie, and even further back was a forest. Chris was in front of the contestants. "Sailors, welcome to Kangaroo Island. One of the largest islands in Australia, and the location of your next challenge."
Alejandro turned to Heather. For some reason, she brought a backpack with her. "Any reason you brought that with you?"
"Since we're on an island, I figured we'd be doing a survival challenge." She quickly said.
"Well, you're not entirely wrong Heather. You will be tested in your survival knowledge. But for this challenge, it'll be all about hunting!" The femtosecond he said that, a hand shot out and started choking Chris. "Grk! Can't...breathe!"
"What did you say?" Dawn calmly yet menacingly asked.
"Gah! Let me...finish! All animals...have to be caught alive!"
Dawn widened her eyes. "Oh. My apologies." Dawn let go of Chris' throat and casually walked back to the, understandable nervous, Shortcakes.
Chris took a few seconds to catch his breath before continuing. "See, according to our legal team, we've been a bit too cruel to animals over the seasons."
"What's the next shocking revelation? That you don't treat your interns well?" Noah asked.
Chris ignored Noah's comment. "So to prove how much we care, this challenge is gonna be all about building sanctuaries for animals."
"Wait, so your way of proving that you care about animals is to have us hunt them down, take them out of their homes, and stuff them in shelters that might not even be well-made?" Gwen asked.
"...Anyway, for a challenge like this, more survival expertise is required for the judging phase. So I'll be aided by a few former competitors." Chris said.
On cue, two people came swinging from the forest on vines. One was an incredibly tall dark skinned girl wearing beige survivalist garb and a hat. The other was a pale boy with shaggy brown hair, wearing a white shirt and orange vest. They both lept off their vines and landed on both sides of Chris.
"G'day mates." The tall girl said. She had a strong Australian accent.
"Who are these guys?" Duncan asked.
"Shawn and Jasmine. They were from Pahkitew Island." Bridgette explained.
"That was Sky's season, right?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah. Shawn in particular was the winner of that season. Jasmine got fourth place." Noah added.
"Heh. Someone's been doing their homework." Jasmine joked.
"Better be careful about showing how much you know though. A bigger brain means a bigger meal for the undead." Shawn said.
"...Wha...?" Emma reacted.
"Shawn has massive zombie paranoia." Bridgette explained.
"You're kidding, right?" Heather asked.
Shawn gave a sigh. It was disappointing, but not surprising, how few people bothered to prepare themselves for the apocalypse.
"Here's the idea. Teams will have 12 hours to create their own sanctuaries for the animals. Teams will be judged on things like their food supply, the shelter, how many animals you have, the health of the animals themselves, and so on."
"The three of us will be judging your sanctuaries." Shawn explained. "Not just by how many animals you captured, but also from the shelter you built, to the food you collected, to your water supply, to the location you picked. You name it."
"The team with the best overall sanctuary wins the challenge for the team" Chrs said. "And of course, you'll need to forage for food and water for these little guys. Wouldn't be a sanctuary if they can't provide for themselves. The only animals you're allowed to kill are stuff like fish or insects to feed your meat-eaters. Otherwise? Avoid harming them as much as you can. And be warned. Just like the Evergaldes, Kangaroo Island has a fair amount of variety with it's wildlife. And naturally, that includes some dangerous critters."
"Either way, this'll be a slam dunk for us. We got a master survivalist right here." Duncan said, nudging at Mike.
"You're forgetting how we have a nature expert ourselves." Emma replied, pointing her thumb at Dawn.
"Loving the spirit here. But before we begin, there's an important announcement to make. Both last place AND second place will be losing a team member tonight." Chris said.
"What?!" Kitty reacted.
"What's the point of even having second place then?" Leshawna asked.
"You'll see." Chris responded.
"All of you will have twelve hours to capture animals, gather food for them, and set up their shelters. Me and Shawn will be roaming around to pull you out of any serious danger." Jasmine said.
"But of course, you can't expect us to hold your hand the entire way through. Everything else about survival you gotta find out for yourselves." Shawn told them.
Chris clapped his hands. Soon, three interns walked up to the teams, each carrying a bucket, and a few baskets, one of them filled with a handful of supplies such as rope, cloth, and a few tools. "These will be the only resources you guys get. Everything else, you'll need to find or make for yourselves. You got 10 minutes to talk strategy before the challenge starts." Chris said.
The Shortcakes huddled up. "Alright, we'll need to delegate." Emma said. "Dawn, you'll be in charge of finding animals. Gwen, Kit. You guys look for food. Noah and I will look for materials to set up shelter."
"We'll regroup here in about two hours before we start building." Noah stated.
The camera panned over to the Blades. "So Mike, what's the plan?" Duncan asked.
DJ, Leshawna, Bridgette, and Mike were confused. "Um...shouldn't we be asking you that?" Bridgette asked.
"Yeah, I'm not team leader." Mike said.
"For a survial challenge like this? You might as well be." Duncan told him.
Scott smirked.
(Confessional: Scott)
"Which means if we screw-up, we know who to blame."
Mike raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "First step will be collecting branches and leaves from inside the forest. After we mark a site and gather branches, we'll split up into groups. Duncan, Scott. I know you guys are good at making traps, so you two will be in charge of trapping and bringing animals."
"Sweet!" Scott exclaimed. "I've been hunting critters evere since I was 6."
"Just remember. You need to bring them alive. Leshawna, Bridgette, DJ. You three will make the shelter. I'll look for water, and forage for food we can use to feed the animals."
The camera panned over to Team Heather. "So, what did you bring in your backpack Heather?" Harold asked.
"If you suspected this would be a survival challenge, surely you have some resources we can use?" Alejandro asked with a smirk.
"You heard Chris. We have to make our own tools unfortunately. Can't be helped." Heather replied.
Harold and B shrugged. Made sense. Alejandro however was naturally skeptical.
"So, where will be our site?" Harold asked.
"Here on the beach. We'll save on time that way. Plus, we can fish for food." Heather replied. "We'll build shelters and make tools first. THEN we'll go looking for animals."
Chris got an airhorn. "And...begin!" Chris blew the airhorn.
The teams dispersed. The Blades headed towards the forest, while the Shortcakes split up as they ran through the prarie Noah and Emma started picking up any sticks and leaves they could find along the way. Team Heather started heading towards the beach shore.
Chris turned to Jasmine and Shawn. "I'll be heading back to the SS McLean until it's judging time."
"What about the challenge?" Shawn asked. "Don't you need to keep an eye on things?"
"Hello? Why do you think I brought you two along. Holler if you need me." Chris started to head towards the yacht, before turning his head back. "Don't need me."
Gwen and Kitty were looking at a group of bright yellow mushrooms with a dark red center near a tree. They were also relatively slimy. "Do you know if they're safe to eat?" Kitty asked.
"No clue. Maybe if we show them to those survival experts, they'l let us know." Gwen kneeled down and started picking up the mushrooms, shaking the slime off them before putting them in her basket.
Kitty started helping Gwen pick up the mushrooms. "So, did you tell him?"
"You're never gonna let this go, are you?" Gwen asked.
"Like I said, I've had to deal with people not being honest with their feelings way too many times."
Gwen rolled her eyes. "If it makes you feel better, yes. I told him. And it's safe to say that he doesn't feel the same way."
"Sorry to hear that. But you gotta admit, getting it off your chest felt good, didn't it."
"Yeah...I guess you're right about that." Soon, they heard some rustling from above. "You hear that?"
The two looked up and saw a koala eating some leaves in the tree they were under. However, it seemed to be struggling to eat them. "Awww. It's a cute koala." Kitty said.
"'Cute' isn't the word I'd use. Koalas bring up some bad memories." Gwen widened her eyes. "Wait a second...that means this tree is-!"
Soon, a few leaves started descending down to Gwen and Kitty. "Aughh!" Gwen hastily moved back from the leaves, falling to the ground as she did so.
"Umm... you ok Gwen?"
"I'm MASSIVELY allergic to eucalyptus. I don't want to touch any of those leaves."
"Oh yeah. Makes sense." Kitty then widened her eyes. "But wait a second. We have an animal right here, and a ton of food we can use for it. Gwen, give me a boost"
"Uh-uh. No way am I getting anywhere near that tree."
"Come on, you don't have to actually climb it. Just help me up, and I'll get the koala and leaves."
Gwen groaned. "If I get one rash, we're bailing." Gwen put her hands together, Kitty using them to boost herself up to the tree.
"Urghh..." Kitty started climbing up the tree before reaching the koala. "Phew."
The koala turned to Kitty, chewing on several eucalyptus trees.
"Hey little guy! Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt you." Kitty started to move her arm towards the koala. "We're just gonna take you somewhere-"
Immediately, the koala lept to Kitty's face and started scratching her face rapidly. "Augh! Ow! Hey!"
"Kitty!" Gwen yelled.
Soon, Kitty lost her grip on the tree, she and the koala beginning to fall. "Wauuuuughhhhh!"
Gwen ran up and caught Kitty as she fell, the koala now on her head.
"Whoa! Thanks Gwen!" Kitty exclaimed.
Gwen took a look at her legs. Some small rashes were there due to the eucalyptus leaves that fell, but nothing too major.
The koala was looking pretty shook, before taking a look at Gwen. Kitty was about to get out of Gwen's arms before the koala started crawling off her head and onto Gwen's arm, causing more, but thankfully small, rashes to appear.
"Umm...what is it doing?"
"Awww. He likes you." Kitty cooed.
The koala made it's way onto Gwen's head and started sleeping, the eucalyptus leaves in it's mouth centimeters away from Gwen's head. "Kitty, get it off me right now." Gwen whispered
"But we finally got it down."
"I don't care. It has eucalyptus in it's mouth, and will maul at the drop of a hat. Get. It. Off. Me."
Kitty picked up the two baskets. "Look, all we need to do is not disturb it, and we can get it back to our site just fine. Besides, one of us needs to carry the food, and I'm pretty sure you'd want the role of picking up eucalyptus leaves even less."
Gwen sighed. "You owe me, big time."
Kitty nodded. She then got out her phone, and struck a pose next to Gwen.
"You know that a selfie could wake up the koala, right?" Gwen asked.
"...I'll wait until we get back."
Alejandro, carrying a net and two baskets, walked past Heather, who was sitting by the beach side having cast out a fishing line constructed by B.
"Are you sure you won't need my assistance?"
"Someone's supposed to bring animals for us, remember?"
"True, but it would be wise to be prepared to feed the animals when I bring them to the site, would it not? It'll be smarter to help you stock up on resources before I go off searching." Alejandro replied.
"I don't need your help Alejandro."
"You sure? I-"
"Let me guess. You have an uncle, or cousin who works on a fishing boat?" Heather guessed.
"...My sister-in-law to be accurate." Alejandro replied.
Heather glared at Alejandro.
"I'm going, I'm going."
The camera panned to, Harold and B, who were constructing woode gates for the animals.
Harold finished hammering in a nail before he let out a sigh.
B was in the process of setting down wooden stakes.
Harold walked up closer to B and sighed again.
B finished setting down the stakes and started whacking metal with a hammer.
Harold walked closer to B, put a hand on his shoulder, and let out another sigh.
Frustrated, B turned to Harold, and made a 'go-on' gesture.
"Oh, it's nothing B." Harold said.
B rolled his eyes and began to walk away.
"Ok, I'll tell you."
B's eye twitched a bit before he turned back to Harold.
Harold started pacing around. "It's about Leshawna. She said that she still likes me. And she knows how I feel. So... why doesn't she want to get back together?"
B opened his mouth before being interrupted.
"Yeah. I get that not every couple is meant to be. But how will we know if that's the case for us if we don't give it a shot?"
B rose his finger to speak up.
"I guess it is kinda unfair to not take Leshawna's view into consideration, huh? But how can I when I don't know what her reason is?"
B opened his mouth yet again.
"You're right. Asking you about it isn't going to give me any answers. If I really want to understand what Leshawna's feeling, I have to talk with her. Thanks B!" Harold ran off.
B blinked a few times before shrugging and getting back to work. Harold said everything B was gonna say. B continued hammering the metal ore before he formed a shovel head. He then tied the shovel head to a branch, and started digging a hole in the center of the fence.
"Ow!" The voices of Harold and another voice yelled from the distance.
Evidently, Harold ran into somebody on his way. B shrugged and continued digging. Eventually, he hit something sturdy and smiled. He reached down and picked up ye another metal ore.
Scott tightened a snare that was tied to a tree "Trust me, nobody at the farm was better at making snares than me."
Duncan started laying leaves over the ground. "Maybe, but something tells me you were even better at getting caught in them."
"Please. Watch and learn, piercings." Scott stood up, backed a little bit away from the snare and cleared his throat. "Soiee! Soooieeeeeee!"
Duncan was unimpressed, before hearing a similar sound from the distance. Running up towards Scott was a livid boar-pig hybrid. Before it could reach Scott however, it's leg got caught in the snare, causing it to be lifted upwards, suspended from the tree.
"Huh. Not bad farm boy." Duncan complimented.
"Heh heh. I learned a thing or two about hog calling back home."
"But how'd you know there would be pigs on this island?"
"If you don't do your homework about pigs, you won't last long at a farm." Suddenly, the two of them heard a rumbling from the distance. "Umm...do you hear that?" Scott asked.
Duncan smirked.
Charging at the two of them from the opposite direction was a trio of wild boars, all equally angry as the one that previously charged at Scott.
"Crap!" Scott was about to book it, but Duncan held him by the arm.
"Wait for itttttttt."
Right when they reached the leaves laid out by Duncan, they suddenly fell through a pit.
"Whoa-ho!" Scott ran to the pit and looked down. "You're not half bad yourself."
Duncan walked up next to Scott. "Yeah. Problem is getting the pigs out of there to bring to the site. Think you can hogtie them?"
Scott smiled, as he swung around some rope. "Who do you think you're talking to?" Scott accidentally wrapped his arm around with the rope. "Augh!"
(Confessional: Duncan)
"I gotta say. Scott's pretty alright. I was only planning on sticking with him until the merge came along since I needed allies against Bridgette and Leshawna. But maybe it won't hurt to hang with him for a while. Could use a bit of a pallete cleaner after all the time I spend hanging out with softies like Zoey and DJ. "
The two of them began dragging the boars, rope tied to their legs, back to their site. "So, just to get things straight, you me and DJ are voting for Mike next time we lose, right?" Scott asked.
"Probably, yeah." Duncan answered.
"What do you mean probably? I thought you convinced him."
"I did. He's not against it, but the first person he brought up when I talked about voting someone off was you."
Scott frowned. "Even though I was the one who stood up agaiinst Alejandro for him?"
"Zoey blamed you for Cody's screw-up back in Florida. Still, Deej isn't exactly dead set on it, and like I said, he wasn't against voting off Mike."
"Still, it would be better if we can guarantee control over the vote." Scott scratched his chin, then smiled. "And another blowup is just what we need to do it."
Duncan raised a unibrow. "Huh?"
"Listen. All we need to do is get Mike ticked off a bit. We don't make it too obvious of course. But if he blows his lid in front of the team again, this'll secure DJ votes with us against Mike. Heck, maybe Leshawna and Bridgette too."
"Dunno if we'll really need to go the extra mile for that."
Scott put a hand on Duncan's shoulder. "Listen. I watched enough Total Drama to know that DJ and Bridgette aren't gonna hold a grudge against Mike for something he regrets. If we don't make them think he's a threat now, those softies are gonna go after us. Do you really wanna risk that?"
Duncan thought it over. "Fair enough. Let's go with it."
The two fistbumped before continung to walk back to their site. From behind a tree, Alejandro popped his head out, rubbing the tummy of a baby seal in his arms.
(Confessional: Alejandro)
Alejandro gave out a chuckle. "Well played Scott."
Gwen and Kitty walked to their site on the prairie. Emma managed to get a fire going, while Noah was drawing shapes nearby several stones that were placed next to each other to form a circle.
"Yeah. That'll keep the animals from getting out." Gwen said.
"I'm drawing out plans. You'll make gates and shelters for them eventually. The stone cricls are just to make sure we don't jumble the animals together."
Kitty put down the two baskets. One filled with mushrooms, the other filled with eucalyptus leaves. "Don't you mean we'll be making them?"
Noah said nothing, as he continued drawing out plans.
Emma took a look at the koala on Gwen's head, now awake, and somewhat on edge. "I thought Dawn was the one who was getting animals?"
"We happened to run into this koala when we were looking for food." Gwen answered.
"Joy. Australia's worst animal." Noah said.
"Noah!" Kitty scolded.
The koala wasn't exactly happy at Noah's comment either. It started snarling at Noah, claws extended. Gwen gulped as the eucalyptus leaves were looking dangerously close to falling out of the koala's mouth, and onto her.
"Noah. Can you wait until it's off me before you tick off the animals?" Gwen asked.
"None of mother nature's creatures are 'the worst'." Sure enough, Dawn popped up right behind Noah, startling him. Behind her were a kangaroo, and a pair of emus.
"We've gotta start putting bells around you."
Dawn walked up to Gwen and gently took the koala off her head, rubbing it's tummy. Gwen felt an immeasurable amount of relief. "Koala's have distinct traits that make them unique, like all animals. That doesn't make them inferior."
"In fairness, koalas are a tad bit more than just unique." A voice said. The Shortcakes turned their heads and saw Jasmine wlak up to them.
"Oh, hey!" Kitty said.
Jasmine kneeled down at the food supply. "Not a bad haul you got overall. But for the koala? Everything but the eucalyptus leaves would be useless."
"Wait, really?" Gwen asked.
"Their diet is almost exclusively eucalyptus leaves." Emma explained.
"But because eucalyptus leaves offer pretty much no nutritional value, they don't have much energy or brainpower to do anything." Noah added.
Kitty took a look at the koala Dawn was holding. "This one sure had energy when it attacked me though."
"Weirdly enough, it looked like it was having trouble eating the leaves." Gwen said.
Dawn started rubbing the koala's tummy. "This koala is a baby, so it's not ready to feed on eucalyptus leaves directly. I'll look for it's mother. In the meanwhile, Kitty, Gwen, see if you can find koala droppings."
"Droppings? As in...?" Kitty began to ask.
Noah nodded. "The joeys are raised on eating their mothers' poop. Still think that koalas are cute?"
Gwen and Kitty were both looking grossed out. Dawn was still happily calming down the joey in her arms.
"Depending on how unlucky we are, the adult koalas will need to eat it too. Because guess what? Koalas grind their teeth down fast, making them unable to eat eucalyptus leaves anymore. Care to explain how they deal with that problem, Dawn?"
Dawn sighed. "...They let themselves starve." She admitted.
"They let themselves starve. But yeah. I can totally see what makes them beautiful creatures."
"The droppings of Koalas play a key role in helping the woodlands grow, along with nourishing other animals. Their fur also proves to be a useful material for birds to make their nests." Dawn stated. "Despite their flaws and disadvantages, they help nature flourish. And that's what makes them beautiful."
Noah rolled his eyes. Jasmine however gave an impressed smile. "I gotta say, you blokes seem to know your stuff." She took a look at the kangaroo and emus Dawn brought, who were calmly placing themselves in the stone circles. "And you seem to have a way with these critters. I'm surprised you managed to get them to stay in one place."
Dawn smiled as she put the koala down in one of the circles. "Thank you."
Kitty picked up the basket filled with mushrooms. "Hey Dawn! Are these mushrooms good for the animals?"
"For the emus yes. But we need to find fruit for the kangaroo.
Dawn nodded and took the basket to the emus. "Here you guys go." Kitty placed mushrooms in the emus circle.
Suddenly, the kangaroo let out a roar.
"Um...why is it-?" Noah began to ask. He was interrupted when the kangaroo hopped in front of him and kicked him, causing him to fly off camera. "Wauuuughhhh!"
"Noah!" Emma yelled.
The Kitty jumped towards Emma, ready to kick her too.
"Whoa!" Jasmine yelled. She ran up and wrapped her arm around the kangaroo. "Calm down there, mate!"
The kangaroo broke out of Jasmine's grip and kicked her, sending her to the ground.
The emus looked like they were about to run in a panic, but Dawn placed her hands on both of them. "It's ok. Everything will be fine." However, Dawn was looking scared herself. Dawn turned to the kangaroo. "Please, calm down! What's ailing you?"
The kangaroo ignored Dawn. It leapt in the air to stomp on Jasmine, but the Australian rolled out of the way.
"Alright, we're gonna get a bit rough now." Jasmine tackled the kangaroo, pinning it to the ground. The kangaroo was fighting to break free.
"Umm...shouldn't we do something?" Gwen asked.
"What can we do exactly?" Emma asked.
"Take it easy there, tiger. Nice and easy. Eaaaaasyyyyy." Jasmine said.
The kangaroo's muscles relaxed as Jasmine's word echoed in it's head. Soon, it stopped fighting.
"That ought to do it." Jasmine stood up, and brushed herself off. The kangaroo stood up as well, looking as docile as it was a few minutes ago.
"That was amazing!" Kitty exclaimed.
"Agreed. Where'd you learn how to do that?" Dawn asked.
"Just a little trick I picked up back home." Jasmine answered.
"Why'd it suddenly freak out like that anyway?" Gwen asked.
Jasmine pointed at the baskets. "It noticed that you guys had food, but nothing that it wanted. You got mushrooms and eucalyptus, but Kangaroo's aren't really fans of either of those."
Dawn led the kangaroo back to it's circle. "I knew that it was hungry, but it's mood was completely docile."
Emma, now carrying an unconscious Noah over her shoulder, raised an eyebrow in confusion. "And it flipped out just like that?"
"Let that be a lesson for you, mates. Don't let you guard down, even when you think you got the situation under control." Jasmine said. "Animals moods can change at the drop of a hat, and you best be prepared in case things get ugly." Jasmine walked away from the Shortcakes.
(Confessional: Dawn)
Dawn placed her face on her hand, in thought. "I've never claimed to know everything about nature, but I wasn't expecting there to be so much that I didn't know about. It's odd. On one hand, yes. I'm disappointed. But at the same time, it's thrilling to know that there's still so much I can learn. The universe truly is large and mysterious."
The camera cut to the Blades, their sanctuary set up in the forest. DJ and Brudgette, having constructed several fences, were feeding the various animals that were captured. Two platypuses, multiple lizards and geckos, a few wallabies and kangaroos, a handful of different types of birds, many boars, and what seemed to be dozens of rodents. Additionally, rather than just the two baskets that were provided by Chris, Mike and Leshawna had weaved multiple different baskets for the team, said baskets divided into various different types of food. Leshawna was weaving more baskets, while Mike left to find more food.
Bridgette walked up to the platypuses, carrying a basket filled with berries. She tossed some berries into the pen, but the platypi didn't look remotely interested. "Oops. Remind me, what did Mike say these guys eat again?"
Suddenly, Mike swung down from a vine, snatching Bridgette's basket, and replacing it with a basket filled with worms and insect larva. Mike then landed on a tree top. "Platypuses are carnivores, so they won't be interested in berries. They're more into bugs and crayfish."
Bridgette nodded, as she started putting in the worms and larva. The platypi were much more interested in them than the berries.
Near Leshawna was DJ feeding a wallaby. He was sniffling as tears streamed down his cheeks.
"DJ, is something wrong?" Leshawna asked.
DJ turned to face Leshawna. She noticed the smile on DJ's face. "I've been near animals for over three hours now...and I haven't hurt a single one!" DJ raised his arms in the air. "It's over! I'm not cursed anymore!"
"Umm...pretty sure that's been the case for a few years now."
"Make way for the rodent hunting master." Scott walked up to the Blades, proudly carrying a bundle of tied up rats and possums.
"Scott, I think we have enough rodents." Bridgette said.
"Hey, the more the merrier. Chris never said too much of a kind of animal would hurt our chances, did he?" Scott asked.
Leshawna shrugged. "Toss them in."
Scott walked up to the fences containing rats and possi and tossed them in. He was about to head back to looking for more animals before Mike leaped down in front of him with a frown. "What?"
"Seriously dude, can you undo the binds before you throw them in the fence? Most shelters don't keep their animals tied up together."
"Relax dude." Mike turned his head, noticing Duncan approach them, dragging a net that had a handful of wallabies in it. "Just undo the binds. Not that big a deal. You've done it plenty."
Mike crossed his arms. "The fact that I have to keep doing it is the problem. It wouldn't kill you guys to think about the rest of the team for once."
"Yeah. You sure were thinking about your old team back in London, weren't you?" Duncan asked.
Mike rolled his eyes. He was getting sick of that incident being held over his head. But it's not like he could exactly protest messing up there. "Can you just give me your knife for a bit, Duncan? I need to cut the ropes."
Duncan handed Mike the knife, who went to undo the binds on the rats and possi brought by Scott. Duncan was about to head to an empty section to place his captued wallabies before Bridgette walked up to the two of them. "Hey Scott? Duncan? I think we need to talk about Mike." She whispered.
"Yeah, he picks a lot of fights, but he's not as big a hothead anymore, so I doubt he'll be causing much of a problem." Scott said.
"That's not what I mean. You don't have to bring up something he regrets at every turn."
"Well when he stops getting in our faces for everything we do, we'll back off." Duncan replied.
"Yeah, Mike isn't blameless. But continuing to antagonize him isn't gonna help either." Bridgette replied. "Listen. Who's right or who's wrong isn't what's important. We need to work together as a team if we want to win. And co-operation is a two-way street."
Duncan shrugged. "Whatever."
Mike finished cutting the binds on the animals before wordlessly tossing Duncan back his knife. Duncan caught it and walked off. Bridgette crossed her arms, but Scott put a hand on her shoulder.
"You're right. We're a team, so we need to work together. And that includes getting along with the new member." Bridgette widened her eyes before smiling at Scott. The farmboy then ran up to Mike. "Hey Mike. Sorry about all that. I'll make sure to untie rats myself before I dump them."
"That'd be great, thanks." Mike said, though his tone made it clear he wasn't convinced.
"By the way, need any help getting some food? I know a thing or two about truffle hunting!"
"Huh? Um...I'm good. But thanks for the offer anyway Scott." Mike replied.
Scott nodded as he picked up some more rope and headed off.
(Confessional: Scott)
"Let's see. Pit Duncan and Mike against each other? Check. Come off as more co-operative than either of them? Check. All that's left is to make sure we get last place."
Leshawna placed one of the baskets she weaved inside the fence for the wallabies. In said baskets was a large amount of grass.
"Psst. Leshawna right?" A voice whispered.
Leshawna looked around. "Umm..."
Suddenly, eyeballs opened up infront of a nearby tree."Wha-?!" A hand covered Leshawna's mouth to keep her from screaming.
"It's me, Shawn. One of the judges" Shawn stepped forward, covered in frosting that looked strikingly like tree bark. "I've been camoflauging to keep an eye on how the teams are doing."
Leshawna reeled back. "How did you-?"
"I worked at a bakery before." Shawn answered.
"...In what world does that answer my question?"
"Anyway, apparently Harold wants to talk with you in private. He's at the Emu Bay Shale, on the North Coast."
"Ok...how'd you find this out?" Leshawna asked.
"He accidentally tripped over me when I was camoflauging as a rock. He's not very co-ordinated, is he?"
"Eh. He has his moments."
"Hey, Leshawna." Bridgette's voice called out.
Shawn went back to camoflauging in front of the tree as Bridgette ran up to Leshawna, carrying a bundle of straw and hay. "Mike found some more material for you to weave."
"Thanks Bridge." Leshawna started weaving a basket. "Hey, can I tell you a secret?"
"Sure. What's up?"
"Me and Harold have been hooking up on the down low."
"That's great to hear." Bridgette began heading back to feed the animals before she stopped herself. "...WAIT, WHAT?!" Bridgette ran back to Leshawna. "When did this happen?!"
"Since a little bit after my elimination in World Tour."
"Wha...two years?! And you've kept getting back together hidden for that long? I thought you were done with lying."
"We're not back together."
"Well you're definitely more than just friends like you've been saying."
Leshawna chuckled. "Fair enough."
Bridgette let the information sink in for a bit. "So...who else knows?"
"As far as I know, you and Shawn are the only ones."
"Wait, you told Shawn? You and Harold never even met him."
Leshawna gave a stink eye to the tree. "I didn't exactly tell him."
Bridgette was confused but shrugged it off. "So you like him. He likes you. And you've been hooking up for over two years now. But you're still not together again?"
"Girl, it's not that simple. Sometimes being in a relationship gets messy."
"Your'e telling me that? Have you seen me and Geoff? We've broken up three times the first year we started dating alone. I know that relationships can get messy."
"Oh yeah. I got in a ton of hot water with Jasmine, both before and after we got together." Shawn's voice said.
Bridgette reeled back in shock and looked around. "Where did...?"
"Don't worry about it." Leshawna insisted.
Bridgette blinked a few times in confusion, before getting back to her point. "Anyway I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want to do. But I can say that this doesn't sound good for either of you.
"Maybe. But the amount of relationships I've seen crash and burn on this show are enough of a red flag for me. Some people just don't work out as a couple, y'know?"
"But you don't know if you and Harold would work out or not."
"Well..."
"Maybe you're right. Maybe you guys won't last. But either way, you should at least talk to Harold about this to make sure you know how he feels about this."
Leshawna said nothing for a while. "...Guess you got a point. Leading Harold on isn't gonna help anything." Leshawna stood up. "Tell our scrawny leader that I'm dipping out for a sec."
"You mean Duncan, or Mike?"
"Yes." Leshawna walked off.
Alejandro placed the seal inside one of the fences. The seal barked a bit before happily jumping into a make-shift pond, greeting the other seals brought by Alejandro. Alejandro turned to B. "I have to say my silent friend." Alejandro gestured to the various fences set up, all of them having large holes and the vast majority of them filled with water. And with the metal B gathered, he was even able to make wire to fortify the fences. "You work fast."
Jasmine walked up to Team Heather. "You lot have nice looking cages for the animals set up. But it won't matter if you can't feed them."
"We're aware. Heather's working on getting food right now." Alejandro told her.
Jasmine took a look at Heather, flailing her pole around in the sea. "You might wanna help your gal out there, mate."
Alejandro turned around and sighed. "Patience isn't exactly one of her strong suits."
Jasmine turned to B. "I'd recommend finding some fresh water for your animals there mate. Normally marine animals can get by on water from their food, but since you're lacking in that department at the moment..."
B nodded before walking off, bucket in hand. Alejandro then turned to his girlfriend. Heather was continuing to fish by the ocean, moving her pole around in circles. She hasn't pulled in any fish yet, and it's already been four hours. "Ugh! Come on you stupid fish, bite!"
"You know, I'm still williing to offer my services." Alejandro said as he walked up to her.
Heather rolled her eyes. "Fine. Whatever. What am I doing wrong?"
"Well for starters, moving around the lure like that isn't going to attract fish. It'll startle them." Alejandro placed his arms over Heather's. "You need to keep it steady."
Heather smiled a little.
"I'll leave you mates too it then." Jasmine said. She walked away from the beach.
A few minutes passed of Alejandro helping Heather before there was a powerful jerk.
"Did you feel that?" Heather asked.
"Reel it in!" Alejandro exclaimed.
Heather started reeling the fish in. Despite it's strength, the fish surprisingly wasn't fighting back. If anything, it was willingly coming up to the shore.
When a familiar two-legged shark came up on shore with a smile, that began to explain why it wasn't pulling away.
"Oh come on!" Heather complained. "You swam from India all the way to Australia?! Do you have nothing better to do than help Chris torture us?!"
Fang shrugged, before opening his mouth.
Alejandro moved in between Heather and Fang. "Wait! I think we can work out a deal. You want to know about Scott and Duncan's location, yes?"
Fang widened his eyes and smiled.
Gwen, Kitty, and Emma looked nervously at the fences they constructed. "I'll admit. I never took any classes about construction." Emma said.
"Well...they're not the worst in the world." Kitty said.
"Only the worst that we've seen." Gwen replied.
Uneven planks of wood were formed in various circles, several nails noticeably sticking out, and multiple open gaps being visible. The fences were stable, but clearly not put together well.
"It couldn't be helped. Noah's still out cold, so he never got to finish his plans." Emma said.
"Guess all we can do now is hope Dawn can get an impressive enough haul of animals." Gwen said.
"Assuming she hasn't lost her touch." Emma said. Gwen crossed her arms at Emma's comment, but said nothing.
"Hey, guys?" Kitty asked. "How do we open the gate for the animals?"
"...We forgot to make doors, didn't we?" Gwen asked.
Emma sighed. "My bad. I should have had that in mind." She admitted. "We don't need to start all over at the very least." Emma and Kitty walked up to the gates to fix their mistake.
Gwen raised an eyebrow.
(Confessional: Gwen)
"I'm not exactly buddy-buddy with her, but recently Emma's been...ok. She's definitely still a pain sometimes, but for the most part, she's toned down on the control trip she was on earlier this season, and she's more considerate of the team now. Well, most of the time anyway."
Dawn had her hand in front of a Black Tiger Snake, coiled around a tree. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you."
The snake hissed at Dawn, but didn't react. Dawn slowly walked up towards the snake.
"I can tell you're hungry. Don't worry. We have food at out sanctuary. You'll be provided for."
The snake began to calm down. Dawn smiled as she rubbed the snake's head. Suddenly, the snake widened it's eyes and lunged at Dawn's arm.
"Whoa there!" Jasmine puled Dawn aside, narrowly having her avoid the snake bite.
The snake hissed at Jasmine. The australian picked up a branch and swung it in the air. "Hey, shoo!" Jasmine yelled.
The snanke hissed again, but decided to slither away.
"You alright there? I get going for an impressive haul, but tiger snakes are among the deadliest snakes in the world, let alone on Kangaroo Island."
Dawn sighed. "It seemed so calm. I even let it know that we'd bring it food. Why did it attack?"
Jasmine pointed in the air. Dawn looked up and noticed a hawk fly by.
"I see now. One of it's predators was near me, so the snake felt threatened."
Jasmine nodded. "You catch on quick. Be sure to be more aware of your surroundings in the future."
Jasmine was about to walk away, before Dawn grabbed her arm. "Excuse me, but by any chance, can you teach me how to better pacify animals?"
Jasmine raised an eyebrow. "You're Dawn, right? From what I gathered, nobody knew more about dealing with animals than you did."
"But I couldn't calm the kangaroo down. I didn't even sense hostility from it because it's emotions flared too quickly. There's still much I need to learn."
"Sorry shiela, but me and Shawn are here to give advice and keep you safe. With all the moving around we need to do to keep eyes on you guys, I don't really have the time to tutor you. And you don't exactly have time to study up on it. You still need to gather animals for your sanctuary.
Dawn was disappointed, but calmly nodded. "I understand. Thank you anyway." She began to walk away.
"Hold up a sec." Jasmine called out. Dawn turned around. "One piece of advice I can give you is that you're too gentle. Don't get me wrong, you're not supposed to be hurting the critters. But sometimes, to get animals to listen to you, you need to show them who's boss."
Dawn widened her eyes before smiling. "Thank you for your advice, Jasmine." She walked off to find more animals.
Fang dropped a large pile of fish inside one of the baskets before going back into the ocean.
"Ruthless." Heather told Alejandro, though her tone was impressed rather than disgusted.
"I'm well aware, yes."
Fang came back up, carrying several penguins, seals, and even a dolphin. It walked up to the fences, and put the animals in respective sections.
"Penguins? I thought we were in Australia." Heather said.
"Kangaroo Island has quite the variety in animals Heather." Alejandro walked up to the shark and patted him on the back. "You have our gratitude. They're in the forest."
Fang gave a thumbs up to Alejandro before running off.
B came back with another bucket of fresh water. He then widened his eyes in shock as he saw many more of the pens he made filled with various different animals.
"It's a long story." Heather told him.
Alejandro walked back to the forest, leaving only Heather and a confused B on the beach. B walked up next to Heather.
"For the record, no. Nothing special happened between me and Alejandro." Heather said.
B looked at Heather suspiciously.
"Ok sure, he helped me catch some fish when I was having trouble, alright? But that doesn't change anything."
B raised an eyebrow.
"No, I didn't find it 'sweet' of him! He was just doing it for the challenge anyway."
B shrugged and simply stood in silence.
"Gah! Do you ever shut up?!" Heather stomped away.
The sun was beginning to fall. Scott was catching his breath as Duncan wiped his hands. A dingo was dangling above them in a net trap set up by Duncan. Scott was looking a bit scratched up though.
"I'm getting sick of being used as animal bait you know." Scott said.
"Hey, my trap, my plan. If you want to catch an animal with one of your snares, I'm fine with luring them there if it'll make you happy." Duncan said.
Scott scoffed. "Thanks for only offering now. The challenge is almost over."
Duncan shrugged and began bringing down the net. "So Scott. You plan on making a move on Court after the competition?"
"As if I care about that. She had her chance with me, and she blew it."
"Pretty sure Florida told all of us how that's a load of crap." Duncan smiled.
Scott grumbled in frustation, before realizing something. "Why are you so chummy with me anyway?"
"'Cause of what Heather asked you in Truth or Electrocution?" Duncan asked. He remembered the revelation that Scott resented him for patching things up with Courtney while he hasn't.
Scott nodded. "That and because you're pals with Zoey. I know for a fact that she warned the Blades about me."
Duncan started climbing up the tree to get the net down. "Like I told you before, I voted Geoff out literally every time we competed together. Doesn't mean we're not buds. Besides, I'm not planning to fight you over Courtney."
Scott raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you pining for her back in All-Stars?"
"That was then. This is no. Dating's way more of a hassle than what it's worth. Besides, Court's way too much of a control freak for my liking."
"Come on, her bossiness is half of what makes her so hot in the first place."
"Yeah, but too much of it gets annoying."
Scott shrugged. "Fair enough."
Duncan brought the net down from the tree, while making sure it still kept the dingo. "If it makes you feel better, Courtney's definitely still into you. She complained about how you were all the time when me and her made up."
"And...that's a good thing?"
"I know Court. She wouldn't complain about a guy so much like that if she didn't still like him."
"Really?!" Scott asked excitedly. He then widened his eyes and coughed. "I mean, cool. Whatever."
The two heard a roar from the distance.
"Are you kidding me?" They both asked in unison.
Rushing towards them from the distance was Fang.
"I'm getting sick of fish breath over there." Duncan was about to position himself, but Scott held an arm to block him.
"Nuh-uh. I'm finishing this."
Duncan raised his unibrow. "Aren't you terrified of the guy?"
Scott took a deep breath. "Right now, I'm more annoyed than scared of him." Scott calmly walked up towards the mutant shark, getting out a lasso.
Fang seemed surprise, but smiled, continuing to run towards Scott.
Scott spun around the lasso. "Two years. Two years you've been chasing me around."
Fang opened it's mouth, ready to maul Scott when he came down. Scott threw the rope at Fang.
Right before Fang could bite at Scott , the rope tied around his snout, snapping the shark's mouth shut.
"All because I took one of your teeth. Well I'm sick of it!" Scott started running around Fang, having the rope wrap around his legs.
Fang tried to attack Scott, but it quickly tripped over the rope and fell to the ground. This made it all the easier for Fang to wrap the rope around the rest of Fang's body. Soon, Fang was tied up on the ground, immobile.
"Whoa!" Duncan reacted.
Scott tightened the knot on Fang. "You know, we COULD bring him to our shelter. Doubt any of the other teams have a mutant shark captured."
"Unfortunately, fish breath over there's just gonna cause a wreck if we try. And we can't keep him tied up or that'll go against us in the judging."
Scott shrugged. "I'll deal with dumping the shark then."
Duncan nodded. "Great work there by the way man." Duncan offered a fistbump to Scott, the farmboy accepting it. Duncan started to head back to the Blades' sanctuary. Scott smiled for a while, satisfied. Suddenly, he heard someone clear their throat. Scott groaned.
"You can come out now, Al." Scott said.
Alejandro walked from behind a nearby rock. "You're lucky that Duncan was too pre-occupied to notice me. I hope you haven't forgotten our deal."
"Relax El Suspicious. I haven't forgotten." Scott turned to Fang. "You want to be untied, right? Then we're making a deal."
Fang snarled at Scott.
"I ain't scared of you anymore, pal. Deal with it. If you want to swim again, you'll listen to what I have to say."
Fang thought it over for a bit. Then, it made a nodding gesture.
"Good. Now, first thing you're gonna do is bite my leg." Scott told him.
Fang looked confused but then gave out a grin.
(Confessional: Scott)
"I could have just left Fang laying there to rot. But I needed my team to get last place. Otherwise, Alejandro would rat me out to the Blades."
Harold was standing atop a rock on the Emu Bay Shale, facing the waves.
Leshawna made her way past a few emus before walking towards Harold.
"I've been waiting for you, my love." Harold asked.
"I haven't even said anything. How'd you know it was me?"
"Admittedly, I accidentally said that to Alejandro a while ago. That made things pretty awkward."
Leshawna gave out a chuckle. "So. I take it you wanna talk, right?"
Harold turned around to face Leshawna and nodded. "I understand wanting to keep things secret from everyone else. But I was really confused when you said we're not together again."
"Because we're not."
" I get back during Season 1. Things moved fast. But we've been a thing for two years now. We kiss, hang out one on one and there were a good amount of times we-"
"I know. But those were just, you know, casual hookups. Not serious."
"Then why don't you want it to be serious? We both like each other." Harold paused. "We do both like each other...right?"
Leshawna sighed. "Of course I still like you, Harold. But that's the same reason why I don't think we should be serious."
"What do you mean?"
"Think about all the times people broke up on the show. Owen never talks with Izzy anymore. It took years for things to stop being awkward between Gwen and Trent. I don't even know if that Sky girl is on speaking terms anymore with the boy she was with her season."
"Technically, they never actually dated."
Leshawna rolled her eyes. "The point is, as crazy as it is to imagine sometimes, I don't want to lose you in my life, Harold. And if we ever get serious, and it doesn't work out..."
Leshawna didn't finish, but Harold understood what she meant. "I get it now. You're worried about what'll happen if it doesn't work out."
Leshawna nodded. "Yeah. I know you want us to be an item for real. But I don't know if it's a good idea."
Harold said nothing for a little while. Then he punched his palm. "When we get back to the SS McLean, and both of us survive elimination, meet me in the dining room."
"Huh?"
"It's a surprise. Just promise me you'll meet me there."
"Well, sure. But what if Chris doesn't let the losing teams on the yacht this challenge?"
"He's still way too paranoid about the Lupin impersonator. He'll want us all on the same boat until he gets that sorted out."
Leshawna shrugged. "Fair enough."
Suddenly, both of them heard a roaring from the distance. "What was that?" Harold asked.
Suddenly, a large amount of animals came running on the Shale. Emus, rats, dingos, platypi, and kangaroos. Leading them was Fang the Shark.
"What the-?!" They both reacted.
Leshawna and Harold were expecting Fang to attack them, but the shark simply ran past them, leaping into the water. The majority of the other animals were simply wandering around the shale.
Suddenly, a dingo lept towards Harold to maul him before Leshawna punched it back. The dingo snarled, before running in the opposite direction.
"Thanks Leshawna." Harold said.
"No problem. But what's going on?" Leshawna asked.
"You might wanna head back to your site." Harold suggested.
Leshawna nodded and quickly ran back into the forest.
(Confessional: Leshawna)
"This...isn't a good sign." Leshawna said.
The camera cut to Leshawna returning to the site. She widened her eyes as she saw that several of the gates they built were destroyed, over half of the animals were gone, and Duncan and DJ were on the ground, looking as though they were trampled over due to the hoof marks all over their clothes. Mike, looking somewhat beat up himself, was feeding a handful of the remaining animals. Scott was laying on a tree with a wounded leg. Shawn, still covered in treebark-like frosting was next to Scott, wrapping a bandage around his wound. Bridgette was pacing around looking worried before she suddenly noticed Leshawna and ran up to her.
"Leshawna!" Bridgette ran up to Leshawna and hugged her. "Thank goodness you're ok!"
"What happened?" Leshawna asked.
"Fang escaped." Scott said.
"What do you mean escaped? We never caught him." Leshawna pointed out.
Duncan and DJ stood up. "Me and Scott ran into him on our way back. Scott tied him up."
"I was planning on dumping him in the sea so he couldn't bother us,but he broke out of the ropes and attacked me." Scott lied.
"That's when Fang suddenly came to our site and started tearing the place up." DJ finished.
Leshawna blinked a few times. "And...how long was I gone?"
"About 15 minutes." Bridgette answered.
Leshawna put a hand over her head and sat down in shock.
Shawn finished wrapping a bandage around Scott's wound. "Good thing I was here, or your sanctuary would have been way more damaged."
"Where did you pop up from anyway?" Scott asked.
"He was camoflauged as a tree for a while." Leshawna explained.
Shawn lept onto a tree branch. "Some of the animals headed towards the prarie. I gotta make sure nobody else is hurt." Shawn headed off, jumping from branch to branch.
Mike looked at Scott suspiciously. "So, how did Fang escape?"
"He thrashed around a lot. Overtime, it broke through the ropes." Scott answered.
"And he just found his way to our site by luck?"
Scott his his nervousness.
"Fang's smarter than your average shark in case you didn't notice." Duncan pointed out. "And I don't think anyone would let themselves get mauled on purpose."
Bridgette looked at Mike, silently begging with her face to not start a fight.
Mike knew that pressing Scott on the issue wouldn't be a good look for him. Especially when it looked like Scott was injured. "Let's just see if we can salvage this."
Kitty was walking near the gate they made for the koala. In her hand was some koala poop she found. "Ew, ew, ew, ew, ewwwwww." Kitty said. She quickly placed the poop down into the gate. Soon, the baby koala walked up to it and started eating it.
Gwen struggled to refill the water bowl for a kangaroo due to the uneven gaps for it's gate. "Is Noah conscious yet?" Gwen asked.
Emma rested Noah's head on her lap, rubbing it. "He's still out cold. Don't think he'll come to until the challenge ends."
Gwen sighed. Finding food and water for the animals went easier than expected. But actually caring for the animals? With how their team was doing, Gwen could only hope there wouldn't be a babysitting challenge coming up soon.
Suddenly, the three Shortcakes heard a rumbling.
"Umm...do you hear that?" Kitty asked.
Suddenly, running towards the Shortcakes' site was a swarm of boars.
"What the-?!" Gwen reacted.
Emma picked up Noah. "We need to make a break for it."
"But what about or site?" Gwen pointed out.
"We need to get the animals out safely too!" Kitty added.
"We can't do anything about it either way. We need to keep ourselves safe guys." Emma pointed out.
Gwen and Kitty didn't like it, but Emma had a point.
"Don't worry." Dawn said, suddenly popping up behind Emma. She noticeably had several scratches on her face.
"Where have you been?" Emma asked.
"I'll explain later." Dawn told her. She turned around and walked towards the boars.
"Think she'll calm them down?" Kitty asked.
"I dunno. It didn't work with the kangaroo." Emma pointed out.
One of the boars was about to bite through Dawn. Suddenly, Dawn placed a hand on it's head. "Stay!" Dawn ordered.
The boar shook Dawn's hand off it before tackling her to the ground. Soon, it and the other boars surrounded her.
"Dawn!" Kitty yelled in concern.
Gwen picked up a rock and was about to throw it, but someone grabbed her arm.
"Bad idea to provoke the boars." Shawn said. "They'll just come after you."
"Well we have to do something!" Gwen yelled.
"That's why I'm here. So just-" Shawn began to say.
He was interrupted when Dawn stood up, and faced a boar, firmly grabbing it by the snout. "I said stay!" She yelled. "We're not here to hurt you! So just listen!"
Dawn tightened her grip. The boar began to struggle, but was gradually calming down. Suddenly, it stopped trying to struggle. Dawn smiled before turning to the other boars, still looking aggressive. Suddenly, Dawn clapped her hands in front of them making them reel back. "Calm down! We're not here to threaten you. We're here to provide food and shelter for you."
The boars widened their eyes before backing away from Dawn.
"Whoa!" Shawn yelled in amazement.
She let out a sigh of relief. "Alright, follow me to the site everyone." Dawn led the boars to the Shortcakes' sanctuary. Kitty and Gwen ran up to her.
"That was amazing!" Kitty exclaimed.
"And you got animals to listen to you again!"
Dawn smiled. "Thank you. It's apparent that sometimes I need to be a bit more forceful to truly get animals to listen."
Emma walked up to Dawn with her arms crossed. "Look, I appreciate the save, but where were you? You haven't been here since the kangaroo attack, so we don't have much animals in our sanctuary. We still only havw two emus, a kangaroo, and a koala"
Shawn looked around the site. "The construction of the shelters isn't exactly the best either. Uneven planks, more nails used than needed, and the gates aren't the most stable looking. And if your animals were small enough, they could probably crawl out through the gaps."
"Well, I can't help much with construction. But..." Dawn began to say.
On cue everyone heard a large amount of bird cries. Flying downwards for the air were dozens of birds of varying species. Owls, hawks, honeyeaters, egrets, and more. The truly bizarre thing was that most of them were carrying other animals either on their backs such as koalas, geckos and echidnas, or with their talons, such as snakes and rodents.
"What the-?!" Kitty, Emma, Gwen, and Shawn all reacted.
The birds placed the animals they were carrying in seperate pens, before the birds flew into their own. "It took some time organizing it, but I figured more ground would be covered this way." Dawn explained.
"How did you get them to...?" Emma began to ask.
"Well it started by finding the mother koala." Dawn explained pointing to it. A koala walked up to the baby koala that was brought by Gwen and Kitty. As the koalas hugged, a few small birds popped out of the mother koalas fur, before flying into it's own seperate pen. "After I subdued her, I got it to listen that we were taking care of it's young one. Then she agreed to provide droppings and fur for several of the birds. Which in turn, I used to convince the birds to safely pick up more animals for us to bring to their shelter."
"Whoa..." Kitty said.
"That's what makes nature so amazing. Of course animals and plants are beautiful individually. But it's how they all interact to help make the ecosystem, even the planet as a whole function that truly makes it special."
"A series of networks to provide resources, eh? Sounds like you're prepared for survival." Shawn complimented. "Doesn't change how the shelters themselves aren't the best built, but the sheer amount of animals you got will do you favors."
Suddenly, Noah rose up, stretching his arms. "Ughhh..."
"Noah!" Emma ran up to him and gave him a hug. "You're ok!"
Noah smiled. "Thanks babe." He broke the hug before standing up. "I dunno how long I was out, but we better-" Noah suddenly noticed the various animals in pens. "What just..."
Kitty smiled as she walked up to Noah. "It's all thanks to what you beleived was Australia's worst animal."
The mother koala defecated, the baby koala happily eating it's poop.
"...Yeah, I don't care what happened. That stance of mine isn't gonna change." Noah replied.
Suddenly, a flare shot off in the sky. "Night has fallen! All teams. Judges, look around the sites to see their final state, and return to the SS McLean for your decision! All teams return to the beach within 30 minutes!" Chris' voice played over the intercoms.
"I gotta go, but stay on your toes. You never what's following you around at night." Shawn told the Shortcakes. He then ran off.
"...He was talking about zombies there, wasn't he?" Gwen asked.
"Probably." Emma said.
(Confessional: Noah)
"I should be more annoyed that I couldn't finish my plans for the pens and fences. But getting to sleep through most of a challenge without anybody getting mad about it? I'm not complaining."
The camera flashed to all the teams standing at the beach near the SS McLean. Noticeably, this was where Team Heather set up their sanctuary. It had an aquatic theme to it, with vrious fish, penguins, and aquatic mammals swimming in countless holes that were filled with water, to varying depths. And naturally, due to the team having B, the construction of the fences and gates put that of the Blades' and Shortcakes to shame. Not only were the wooden gates sturdy and evenly spaced, but the makeshift pools were lined with a metal outline amongst the sand.
Chris, Chef, Shawn, and Jasmine walked down the drawbridge of the SS McLean. "We've all discussed your sanctuaries and your ability to capture and provide for animals."
"Um...you stayed in the yacht the entire challenge." Mike pointed out.
"I can see through the cameras, Mike." Chris told him.
"Blades, you were pretty balanced throughout most of the challenge." Shawn said. "Great hunters for the animals, knowledge about what to feed them, and some impressive weaving skills to boost the amount of supplies you could hold.
"Unfortunately, you were hit with some bad luck involving animals. Maybe your animal curse isn't over yet, eh DJ?" Chris teased.
Surprisingly, DJ didn't look bothered by the comment. "At least no animals got hurt this time."
Chris frowned at the lack of a strong reaction.
"Fang's attack on your shelter led to most of your animals escaping, and several of your pens being damaged. You didn't do too bad on repairs, but with the limited amount of time you had, the damage was pretty noticeable." Jasmine said.
"It wasn't our fault though." Bridgette pointed out.
"True. But if a hospital was caught in a fire, accident or not, would you say it'd be safe to put patients in there?" Shawn asked.
Bridgette sighed. "I guess not."
"Besides. How you handle animals is part of the criteria too." Jasmine pointed out.
"Shortcakes. You REALLY got lucky near the end." Chris said. "You barely had any animals until literally the last minute. And the construction of your pins were easily the worst."
"But you did put the most effort in making sure the animals you had were provided for." Jasmine said. "And the large amount of animals brought in by Dawn at the very end helped you pull through."
"And Team Heather-" Shawn began to say.
"We know. You can declare us first place already." Heather interrupted.
Jasmine raised an eyebrow. "Rushing to conclusions there, ain't ya?"
"We had the best constructed shelters, caught a large amount of animals, and got a ton of food to provide for them."
Shawn and Jasmine looked at each other and shrugged. She wasn't wrong.
Chris frowned. "You know, I'd prefer to built up suspense for these things...but fine. Team Heather, you're the winners of the challenge."
All of Team Heather cheered.
"That said, the real question is who comes in last. The team that got their sanctuary nearly destroyed? Or the team that was barely able to keep one standing to begin with?" Chris asked.
The Shortcakes all looked nervous. As did the majority of the Blades, with the exception of Scott.
"The three of us decided that the last place team is...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...

... The Killer Blades."
"Whoooooo!" The Shortcakes cheered.
The Blades all groaned, though Scott was naturally hiding his joy.
"Wait a second. Didn't you say both second and last place were losing a team member?" Harold asked.
"Nice memory Harold. And I did. I also left out though that first place was losing a member too." Chris said.
"WHAT?!" Heather, Alejandro, and Harold yelled.
"Blades, I want you to prepare to vote someone off. Shortcakes, Team Heather. I want all of you guys to rank your teammates from favorite to least favorite? Naturally we'll make sure you're telling the truth."
Chef held out the collars previously used for Truth or Electrocution.
"But...why?" Gwen reacted.
"All will be explained. This time, all teams will be present at the elimination ceremony. And yes, this means that second and last place get to board on the SS McLean again, and the cost of needing to do some chores." Chris turned to Jasmine and Shawn and gave each of them a large stack of cash. "And here's your payment for the challenge."
"Thanks!" Shawn exclaimed.
"One question. Why'd you hire us to begin with if you were gonna be a judge anyway?" Jasmine asked.
"Somebody needed to make sure the contestants were safe. Who else but two of the best survivalists on Total Drama."
(Confessional: Jasmine)
"Did Chris hit his head or something? Since when did he care about keeping contestants safe?"
(Confessional: Alejandro)
"Out of my teammates, Heather is obviously my favorite. Her looks, her fierce attitude, her cunning. She's truly wonderful to be around, despite her many faults. My second favorite would be B. He's rather dependable. Harold is capable too...but can be quite annoying."
The camera cut to Duncan mopping the floor.
"Keep up the good work Duncan." A voice teasingly said.
Duncan noticed Alejandro walk up to him, the spaniard walking out of the confessional with a lie detecor collar around his neck.
"Laugh it up Starscream. Just be grateful your team didn't get last place, or you'd be guaranteed to go home tonight." Duncan said.
"Starscream...?" Alejandro asked.
"...You had a really lame childhood, huh?"
Alejandro shrugged. "Regardless, that's what I wanted to talk with you about. See, the merge is coming soon, and I don't really have much in the way of allies."
"Pass." Duncan immediately said.
"What if I told you some useful information?"
Duncan laughed. "Why should I trust you? Especially after what happened in Africa."
"Think about it for a second. During World Tour, was there anyone I was more honest with than you?"
The delinquent rolled his eyes. "Go ahead. Not like it means I'll believe you."
Alejandro smiled. "We'll see."
(Confessional: Heather)
Heather was frowning at the collar she was forced to wear.
"Ugh. Hate this stupid 'tell the truth or get zapped' routine. Fine. Alejandro's my favorite teammate. And I guess I'll rank Harold over B, not like it matters."
(Confessional: Gwen)
"I'd definitely rank Kitty as my favorite teammate. Sure, her constant selfies and insistence on playing Cupid get annoying. But she's really cool overall. Dawn would be second. I really owe her for helping me patch things with Duncan and Courtney. Least favorite would probably be Noah by default. I was never really fond of him to begin with, and I dunno, I guess I'm kinda ok with Emma now."
(Confessional: B)
B stood in front of the confessional in silence for a while. Right when he opened his mouth, the batteries for the camera died.
The camera cut to all teams standing at the top deck of the SS McLean. The Blades were sitting in chairs, while the Shortcakes and Team Heather were watching from two seperate bleachers set up on the top deck.
A drawbridge was lowered, connecting the SS McLean to the Boat of Losers, Chef naturally in it.
Chris wasn't holding a tray of shrimp this time. Rather, he had a ballot box.
"You have all cast your votes and made your decisions. We're out of shrimp tonight, so instead, we'll be counting the votes by hand."
"What about the leader vote?" DJ asked.
"Since they count as two votes, we'll be drawing seven ballots."
(Confessional: Bridgette)
"We had a real teamwork issue today. But Duncan was the only one actively trying to provoke someone. And that's not something a leader should do."
(Confessional: DJ)
"Duncan convinced me to vote off Mike. Sorry man, you definitely helped us out. But I don't know you that well, and you've been kinda scary lately."
(Confessional: Scott)
"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Duncan or Mike? Who's gonna go?"
Chris pulled out a small slip of paper. "We have one vote for...Mike."
Mike tensed up.
Chris pulled out another slip of paper. "We have one vote for Duncan."
The delinquent crossed his arms, annoyed.
"We have another vote for Duncan."
Gwen started to get worried from the bleachers.
"We have a vote for Scott." Chris said, pulling out the latest slip.
Scott remained calm.
"We have another vote for Scott. And another vote for Mike."
Chris briefly set the ballot down. "That two votes for Duncan. Two votes for Mike. And two votes for Scott."
Mike shook nervously. Duncan glared intensely at the ballot box. Scott was looking perfectly calm.
"In the event that this last vote isn't towards any of you and results in a tie, we'll have a three-way tiebreaker to decide who gets eliminated. Either way? One of you three is going home tonight.
Chris pulled out the last ballot.
"The final vote goes to...

... Scott."
Mike sighed in relief, as did Gwen. This didn't go unnoticed by Noah.
Scott was shocked. "What the...I get Mike, who else voted for me?!"
"Sorry dude. That was me." Duncan said.
"Huh?!"
"Wait, I thought you were voting off Mike?" DJ asked.
"That was before I found out Scott's been sabotaging us." Duncan said.
Scott widened his eyes and glared at Alejandro. "You told him?!"
"Don't know what you're talking about." Alejandro lied.
"Wait, so why didn't you tell the rest of us?" DJ asked Duncan.
"Zoey did the same thing, and all that did was keep Scott on his toes. If he caught on that I knew, and if you guys didn't believe me, he'd probably find a way for me to go home." Duncan answered.
"It's true. He did the same thing to me back in Season 4." Dawn said from the bleachers.
The delinquent turned to Mike. "Got lucky that you voted for him too. Thanks for that."
Mike was surprised.
(Confessional: Alejandro)
"Scott would have let his team win had I not reminded him of our deal. It was only a matter of time before he would stop throwing challenges. Which means I have no more use for him."
"Arghh. If only I found that dumb immunity idol." Scott complained.
"Wait, so you WERE sabotaging our team?!" Leshawna asked.
"Zoey was right!" Bridgette yelled. "Argh, I can't believe I trusted you!"
Scott shrugged. "Nothing personal. I was just playing the game."
This didn't stop most of the Blades from glaring at him. Duncan however stood up, and offered a fist to Scott. "Yeah. Same here."
Scott raised an eyebrow before smiling, accepting Duncan's fistbump. "Later man." Scott walked down the drawbridge and entered the Boat of Losers, Chef taking off.
Chris turned to the bleachers. "Now, based off how you guys rated each other, the overall most liked teammates of the Shortcakes and Team Heather are Kitty and Heather!"
All of the contestants from Island, barring Harold, were stunned about the latter. "Excuse me, Heather is the most popular member of her team? The queen of mean?" Leshawna asked.
"She's been surprisingly nice lately." Harold answered.
"And you don't think it's all an act?" Gwen asked.
Harold shrugged.
"For what it's worth, all members of Team Heather were chosen as the most liked teammate by exactly one other teammate. But both Harold and B ranked her second, so she won out by the average." Chris explained.
"So...now what?" Kitty asked.
"Remember when I said the Shortcakes and Team Heather would also be losing a teammate? Kitty, Heather. Say hi to your new teams!"
Noah and Emma gasped.
"Wait, what?!" Heather yelled.
"Felt like it was time we shaked things up a bit." Chris said.
Kitty turned to her now former team. "Aww. I'll miss you guys."
Gwen smiled, and hugged Kitty, Emma later doing the same. Kitty got out her phone, and took a selfie with her and all the Shortcakes in frame.
"Heather. Normally we'd have you select who you'll have as the Team Leader replacing you, but with you admitting Alejandro's your favorite teammate, your boyfriend will be taking over."
Alejandro smirked at Heather. Heather just scoffed. "Whatever." Heather picked up her backpack and got out of the bleachers for Team Heather and walked to the bleachers of the Strawberry Shortcakes, Kitty naturally doing the reverse.
"Looks like we always end up on the same team, huh?" Heather asked Gwen.
"Unfortunately." Gwen replied.
"Rest easy sailors. You're all safe. ...For tonight." Chris said.
Leshawna walked into the dining room. The lights were all turned off. "Alright Harold. I'm here. Where are you?"
On cue, a few lights came back on. Harold was on the stage, wearing his sunglasses and beanie, standing by the karaoke machine. "I knew you'd survive elimination Leshawna."
"Heh. Knowing my luck, I was surprised. I take it you had a counter to what I brought up?"
Harold nodded. Soon, intense guitar music began to play, accompanied by drums.
"Midnight shadow. Evaporates. Accelerate. Through this old highway city!
Into the night, you by my side, your tear-stained eyes
Rouge running down your cheek"
Evidently, Harold's response was through the karaoke machine. Leshawna wanted to be surprised, but couldn't.
"But baby! Tonight everything's all right! As long as you're here next to me, my sweet babe!
Now let's let go of our, past and our future! This night has room for only two, you and me!"
Leshawna's eyes began to waver. Suddenly, the wall behind Harold began to glow, and spotlights shined on Harold.
"So come and see, I'll show you paradise tonight!
"Not just 1 kiss, not 2 kisses, not 100! I've got a full clip of love for you. Baby!
Hold on to me and I swear I won't let go! I'll never, let you slip away from me!"
Harold span around with the mic.
"Machine gun kiss, let's just."
Two pillars of flames set off next to Harold as he hit the last line.
"Fall in loooooovvvvvveeeeee!"
The flames died down. Harold took a few breaths before putting the mic back in place.
"You always gotta go for the theatrics, don't you fool?" Leshawna asked. "You could have just said it's worth taking a risk."
Harold smiled. "I figured I needed to show off my mad skills to get you to listen."
Leshawna chuckled as she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Harold. "Maybe you were right."
The two kissed each other, the lights dimming around them.

Whew. Finally done. Once again, I am SO sorry for the wait guys. But I hope the chapter was worth it.
Our first major villain of the fanfic, Scott, has been eliminated. I had a ton of fun writing him. He was a great blend of comic relief, and drama starter which made for a lot of fun moments. Back in the planning stages of the story, when it was initially Mike who got eliminated in the restaurant challenge instead of Zoey, the plan was for him and Alejandro to orchestrate Zoey's elimination, Alejandro bringing up moments from the past involving Mike to throw Zoey off her game, while Scott convinces Duncan to vote her off with him to prove that he's still a bad guy. Since that plan got scrapped since I still wanted to do stuff with Mike, I instead decided to give tiny glimpses of potential redemption for Scott, only for Alejandro to shut that down before it could truly happen. But hey. At least he finally got over his fear of Fang.
And yeah, Harold and Leshawna have been hooking up in secret, but are now officially together again. I was going back and forth on whether or not I'd want to have the conversations about their relationship be in previous chapters or not, but decided that it would be funnier if the nature of their hookups to be a complete surprise for the characters and audience, just like how it was in Island.
And of course, Heather is now on the Shortcakes, while Kitty is now on Team Heather. What does this mean for Noah's alliance? And how will will Heather and Kitty fare on their new teams? Only time will tell. Also, one more challenge chapter before we have our second Aftermath!
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter! Have a great day!
