Ash vs Glacia

A man with graying red hair was tending to a small garden that sat beside a log cabin deep within Petalburg Woods, the man was hard at work watering his crops before coming to a stop upon hearing footsteps approaching the cabin. He instinctively reached for his belt, his hand gripping a Pokeball before quickly lightening his grasp upon seeing a man with a graying black haired goatee.

"Finally found some wood for our fireplace?" The red head asked.

"Of course," The dark haired trainer smirked while holding a decent sized log within his arms. "This'll last us a few weeks!"

"Good, good.." The red haired trainer smiled lightly while looking towards the distance. "I heard somebody's revived our former teams so it's best we avoid going into civilization for awhile, no doubt the International Police will be looking for us. We're prime suspects after all."

"Shouldn't we do something about this?" The dark haired trainer spoke with a worrisome expression. "What if they succeed and gain control of Groudon and Kyogre?"

The red head gave his lover a calm expression while slowly shaking his head. "No, I know that somebody will be a stop to this. I heard of several kids and young adults stopping multiple crisis's throughout the Pokemon world, it's happened here before and it'll happen again. I'm too old to bother with this nonsense."

A pair of lilac colored eyes watched the lovers from the safety of a nearby bush, the individual quietly listened and kept her presence a secret until they eventually entered the cabin for a late meal.

"Agent Anabel, report." Looker's voice spoke from a lilac colored Rotom Phone that the woman pulled from her pocket.

"Everything's okay, Looker. Maxie and Archie are innocent in all of this, the two are happily married in a cabin in the woods and have no intention of interfering with Groudon and Kyogre a second time."

"Curious," Looker continued. "Our reports say that those two are running the new version of Team Aqua and Magma. Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way, there has to be something we're missing here."

"Meowth!" Thunder fired out of a clothed Meowth's body, striking the opposing Magmortar who cried out as electricity surged through his body.

"M-Magmortar..." The Fire type groaned as he collapsed onto his side, swils formed within his eyes as his body went limp.

"Bzzzt! Magmortar is unable to continue battling which means the battle goes to Tyson! Congratulations Tyson, your new ranking is 5,555!" The Rotom Drone declared shortly before leaving.

"Dang, I wasn't expecting to win but I didn't think you'd destroy me like that..." Finn sighed out as he recalled Magmortar to his Pokeball.

Tyson who was much older than when Ash had last seen him as he was now sporting a goatee and moustache, flashed the former Pokemon Hunter a light smirk. "Don't sell yourself short, I've won several Pokemon Leagues. It would take quite an incredibly strong trainer to take me on." Tyson retrieved his Rotom Phone and emitted a light chuckle as Virgil's face appeared on the screen. "And I think I've found the right opponent!"

"Well I wish you luck with that," The two shook hands and Tyson took his leave, heading off in one direction while Ash arrived from the opposite direction, the two missing each other by a mere minute.

"Hey Finn, is Glacia around?!" Ash shouted out as he and Marnie approached.

"Huh? Oh, hello Ash!" Finn offered the young trainer a smile and waved as the Alola champion made his approach. "Yeah, she's around. She's actually been expecting you, follow me!" Finn turned and began leading the young couple back towards his and Glacia's home where the elderly Elite Four member could be seen waiting on the front porch.

"Hey Glacia, look whose arrived!" Finn excitedly shouted out. "Are you gonna use that new Pokemon? That one neither of us saw until a few months ago?!"

Glacia's cheeks burned brightly as she cast Finn a harsh look.

"A new Pokemon?!" Ash excitedly gasped out, his eyes brightened at the prospect of meeting a new Pokemon.

"I wonder if it's a Dark type..." Marnie spoke with a similar look of interest.

Glacia offered the pair an amused smirk while making her way towards a battlefield that sat directly in front of her home. "Well Ash, I trust you've made the proper preparations for this battle?"

"I have, we're doing a six on six right?!" Ash eagerly questioned.

"Pikapi?!"

"Right you are," Glacia lightly cackled while taking her position on the battlefield. "Standard rules apply, you may only use one Z-move or Mega Evolution and the battle will come to an end as soon as either side is unable to continue. Are you ready?"

"I was born ready, let's do this!"

"Pika pika!" Pikachu eagerly exclaimed as the pair raced towards the opposite end of the field while Finn and Marnie took their positions at the sideline, with Finn standing in as the referee.

"Alright you two, prepare to release your first Pokemon on the mark. Get set, and go!" Finn shouted out.

"Centiskorch, I choose you!" Ash shouted while hurling a Pokeball forward.

"Let's do this, Vanilluxe!" Glacia shouted while tossing a Pokeball of her own.

"Vanil!"

"Centi!" The two Pokemon cried out upon bursting from their Pokeballs.

"Water Pulse!" Glacia shouted out.

"Vanill!" Vanilluxe cried out as a powerful pulse of water fired from her mouth.

"Coil!" Ash defensively shouted out.

"Centiskorch!" Centiskorch quickly coiled into a ball, raising his Attack and Defense as the water blasted against his body.

"Now use Burn Up!" Ash shouted out while throwing his fist forward.

"Centi!" A massive wave of fire erupted from his body and flew across the field before making contact with Vanilluxe's body.

"V-Vanilluxe!" Vanilluxe cried out as flames lashed against her body, sweat started pouring down her forehead shortly before she collapsed onto her side as swirls formed within her eyes. "Vani..."

"Vanilluxe is unable to battle, the round goes to Ash and Centiskorch!" Finn exclaimed while showcasing a bit of shock.

Glacia remained cool and collected as she returned Vanilluxe to her Pokeball. "Rest up my dear,"

'Wow, Ash sure has gotten stronger since the day we met. He just beat down an Elite Four member's Pokemon with a singular attack!' Marnie thought while giving her boyfriend an admirable expression.

"Alright Cetitan, time to level the field!" Glacia exclaimed while tossing a ball into the air.

"Cetitan?!"

"Pikapi?!"

"Who's that Pokemon?" Marnie pondered.

"Morpek?"

Finn merely smirked as what appeared to be a large spiked white land whale appeared on the battlefield.

"Cetitan, the Terra Whale Pokemon. Cetitan need to have tough muscles to be able to support their immense bodies, and physical attacks using their bodies have incredible power. They also migrate around the snowy regions, protected by a thick layer of subcutaneous fat." Ash's Rotom Phone read out upon scanning the mysterious creature.

"We found it while vacationing in the Paldea region." Finn explained.

"Paldea? Where's that?!" Ash excitedly asked as he'd never heard of the region until that day.

"Oh I'm sure you'll find out someday," Glacia smirked while thrusting out her arm. "Alright Cetitan, use Heavy Slam!"

"Cetitan!" The land whale cried out as it leaped into the air before promptly belly flopping towards the ground below.

"Fire Lash!" Ash defensively shouted out as Cetitan approached his Pokemon.

"Centi!" Centiskorch's tail ignited into flame as he lashed out at his opponent however it wasn't enough to stop the incoming weight which he soon found himself crushed by. "Centi..." Centiskorch groaned beneath Cetitan before the land whale moved, revealing Centiskorch's limp form as swirls laid within his eyes.

"Centiskorch is unable to continue battling!" Finn announced with a proud smirk.

"Good job, dear." Glacia praised Cetitan.

"Cetitan!" Cetitan beamed.

"Centiskorch, you okay?!" Ash cried out.

"C-Centiskorch..." Centiskorch weakly nodded.

"Alright Centiskorch, return! Sirfetch'd, I choose you!"

"Sirfetch'd!" Sirfetch'd lashed out with his leek as he burst from his ball.

"Return, my dear." Glacia swiftly recalled Cetitan to it's ball before grabbing hold of a different Pokeball. "Beartic my dear, it's time to battle!"

"Roar!" A Beartic bashed it's paws together as he burst from his ball.

"Hail!" Glacia cheerfully cried out.

"Roar!" Beartic roared out as a thick hailstorm covered the battlefield.

"Meteor Assault!" Ash shouted out.

"Sirfetch'd!" A yellow aura surrounded Sirfetch'd as he shot across the field, stabbing his leek against his opponent's chest!

"B-Beartic!" Beartic grunted out as he was knocked back. The force of the attack nearly knocking him off his feet.

"Hyper Beam!"

"Roar!" The orange-yellow energy beam erupted from Beartic's mouth and shot across the field, exploding directly at the feet of Sirfetch'd.

"Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd cried out as the explosion sent him flying but the warrior bird was quick to get back to his feet, boldly thrusting his leek forward as if to ask if that was all Beartic had.

"Brutal Swing!" Ash shouted out.

"Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd cried out as he harshly swung his leek towards Beartic.

"Dodge and strike with Superpower!" Glacia shouted out.

"Beartic!" Beartic swiftly dodged, recharging quickly due to his sheer power before delivering a powerful blow across Sirfetch'd's face.

"Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd gasped as Beartic's fist collided against his face.

Ash clenched his fists. "Alright Sirfetch'd, let's try Meteor Assault one more time!"

"Sirfetch'd!" The yellow aura surrounded Sirfetch'd once more as he charged across the clearing before stabbing Beartic with his sword shaped leek.

"Bear!" Beartic uttered out a faint grunt before collapsing onto his side as swirls formed within his eyes. "Bear..."

"Beartic is unable to continue battling!" Finn declared.

Glacia calmly returned Beartic before grabbing hold of another ball. "Alright, Cetitan use Ice Spinner!"

"Cetitan!" A large spiky ball of ice surrounded Cetitan as it emerged from it's Pokeball, the Pokemon began rapidly spinning in place before whisking across the field. "Cetit!"

"Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd explained as the attack landed a critical hit, the brave knight clutched at his heart as he fell to his back. "Sirfetch'd..."

"Sirfetch'd!"

"Pikapi!"

"Sirfetch'd is unable to continue battling!" Finn announced with a proud smirk.

"Sirfetch'd you did great out there, now rest up. We'll take it from here," Ash offered his fallen Pokemon a smile as he returned him to his Pokeball. "That Cetitan sure is powerful... alright Primeape, let's show them what you can do! I choose you!"

"Primeape!" Primeape angrily screeched out as he burst from his Pokeball.

"Use Seismic Toss!" Ash shouted out.

"Prime!" Primeape grabbed hold of Cetitan before leaping into the air above, the feisty ape began rapidly twirling about in the air before hurling Cetitan towards the ground below. "Primeape!"

"Cet!" Cetitan grunted out as a large crater formed where he crashed. "Ce-Cetitan..." Cetitan groaned out as he slowly stood back to his feet.

"Prime..." Primeape's eyes shot red for a brief moment as he glared at Cetitan.

"Heavy Slam!" Glacia shouted.

"Cetit!" Cetitan leaped into the air and began rapidly descending towards his opponent.

"Counter with Close Combat!" Ash shouted out.

"Prime!" Primeape grunted out as he met Cetitan's body with his fists, the feisty ape grunted out in pain and his eyes shot red once more as he began rapidly punching at Cetitan's body before ultimately knocking the large whale away from him!

"Cetitan..." Cetitan groaned as he collapsed into a snowy bank. Steam emerged from Primeape's ears and his eyes remained a dark shade of red as Cetitan slowly stood back up.

Ash felt a vibration in his pocket and quickly reached into it before activating his Rotom Phone to reveal the Pokedex app had alerted him to a new move. "What's Rage Fist...?"

As if on cue Primeape rushed across the field before taking a swing at his opponent, a large burst of energy that took on the shape of a fist emerged from Primeape's fist and shot across the field before landing a blow on Cetitan's face!

"Cetita!" Cetitan groaned before finally collapsing onto his side, swirls formed within his eyes as he laid in defeat.

"Prime... Prime..." Steam continued flaring from Primeape's ears as he glared at his downed opponent.

"What kind of attack was that?!" Ash gasped out. Marnie looked similarly confused while Glacia and Finn gave each other a knowing look however they chose to remain quiet.

"Cetitan is unable to continue battling." Finn declared as Glacia returned Cetitan to it's Pokeball. "That's fair but you should know that Cetitan's not the only thing I caught while in Paldea!" She enlarged another ball and tossed it into the air. "Go Baxcalibur!"

"Baxcalibur!" A large kaiju with icy covered scales emerged from the ball and unleashed a powerful roar as it leered at his opponent.

"Prime..." Primeape didn't flinch as Baxcalibur leered at him.

"Whoa, whose that Pokemon?!" Ash excitedly exclaimed as he fished out his Rotom Phone.

"Pikapi?!"

"Baxcalibur the Ice Dragon Pokemon, this Pokemon blasts cryogenic air out from its mouth. This air can instantly freeze even liquid-hot lava."

"Wow, I bet this Pokemon is quite powerful!" Ash gasped out from amazement.

"Pika..."

"Glaive Rush!" Glacia shouted out.

"Bax!" Baxcalibur charged forward, stabbing Primeape with his sharp claws upon making impact!

"P-Primeape..." Primeape grunted out, his eyes shot dark red once more as he growled at his opponent.

"Close Combat!" Ash shouted out.

"Prime!" Primeape began rapidly lashing out at his opponent, his fists bashed against Baxcalibur's body while his legs lashed out against Baxcalibur's.

"Bax..." Baxcalibur grunted out.

"Icicle Crash!" Glacia shouted out.

"Bax!" Baxcalibur roared out as a series of sharp icicles began raining down upon his opponent.

"Prime..." Primeape gritted his teeth as the sharp icicles rained upon his back, the feisty ape attempted to stay strong but eventually gave in and collapsed against the ground as swirls formed within his eyes. "Ape..."

"Primeape is unable to continue battling!" Finn announced with a proud smirk.

"Primeape return, you did great out there and deserve a long rest." Ash praised as he recalled Primeape to his Pokeball. "Alright Tyranitar, I choose you!"

"Tyra!" Tyranitar roared out upon bursting from his ball. The two kaiju Pokemon then gave each other a light glare as they locked eyes with each other. "Tyra..."

"Bax..."

"Ice Beam!"

"Use Flamethrower!" Ash hastily shouted out.

"Tyra!" Tyranitar roared out as fierce hot flames emerged from his mouth. The flames shot across the field and melted the ice attack before moving across Baxcalibur's body upon making contact with him.

"Bax..." Baxcalibur grunted out.

"Now use Stone Edge!"

"Tyra!" Sharp jagged rocks emerged from the ground and surrounded Baxcalibur before rapidly closing in on the kaiju, giving him a tight squeeze!

"B-Bax..."

"Blizzard!"

"Bax!" Baxcalibur roared out as a fierce blanket of ice and snow began pelting his opponent.

"Now use Hyper Beam!" Ash shouted out.

"Counter with Hyper Beam!" Glacia shouted out.

The two kaiju fired off the orange-yellow energy attacks which ended up clashing against each other. The two Pokemon glared into each other's eyes as they pushed back against the opposing side, neither looking to give up.

"Tyra!"

"Bax!" The two Pokemon growled before Baxcalibur grunted out to hold his leg, allowing Tyranitar the brief edge he needed to finish things off!

"Bax!" Baxcalibur cried as he fell onto his back, swirls formed within his eyes as he laid in defeat.

"B-Baxcalibur is unable to continue battling." Finn stuttered out with a stunned expression.

"Alright, way to go Tyranitar!" Ash praised.

"You were amazing!" Marnie beamed.

"Pika!"

"Tyra..." Tyranitar blushed as Glacia recalled Baxcalibur to his ball.

"Well my dear, it looks like it's time for you to shine!" Glacia shouted out as she hurled a Pokeball forward. "Use Wood Hammer!"

"Abomasnow!" The shiny Abomasnow burst from his ball and slammed a large log against Tyranitar's body, causing the kaiju to grunt out.

"Tyra..."

"Use Flamethrower!"

Tyranitar took a deep breath before unleashing a series of hot flames against his opponent.

"A-Abomasnow..." Abomasnow gritted his teeth while sweat poured down his body.

"Wood Hammer once more!" Glacia exclaimed.

"Abomasnow!" Abomasnow roared out as he brought another log down upon his opponent.

"Tyra-" Tyranitar went cross eyed for a brief moment before faceplanting against the ground as his body went limp.

"Tyranitar is unable to continue battling!" Finn swiftly declared.

"Tyranitar return, you did great out there and deserve a long rest." Ash offered Tyranitar a smile as he recalled him to his ball. "Alright Typhlosion, I choose you!"

"Typhlo!" Typhlosion cried out as he burst out onto the battlefield.

"Use Overheat!" Ash shouted out.

"Typhlo!" Typhlosion roared out as a large stream of fire erupted from his mouth. The blast shot across the field and pushed Abomasnow back but the large tree Pokemon remained standing.

"Abomasnow!"

"Water Pulse!" Glacia ordered with a sly smirk.

"Aboma!" A powerful pulse of water shot across the field and splashed Typhlosion.

"Typhlo..." Typhlosion shivered while giving off a look of discomfort.

"Use Flamethrower!" Ash shouted out.

"Typhlo!" Typhlosion's flames erupted as a powerful stream of fire erupted from his mouth, the fire stream shot across the field before making contact with Abomasnow.

"A-Abomasnow..." Abomasnow sweated before collapsing onto his side as swirls formed within his eyes.

"A-Abomasnow is unable to continue battling." Finn lightly stuttered while Glacia calmy returned him to his ball.

"Nothing to worry about dear, alright Glalie you're up!"

"Glalie!" A Glalie burst onto the field shortly before a pink energy field enveloped his body as Glacia reached for a Mega Ring.

"Let's show them the power of our bond, Mega Evolve!"

"Glalie!" Glalie exclaimed as he emerged from the pink light in his Mega Evolution form.

"Earthquake!"

"Glalie!" Mega Glalie slammed against the snowy ground causing a vast vibration to flow across the field.

Typhlosion uttered out a grunt of discomfort as he maintained his footing. "Phlo..."

"Hang in there Typhlosion, we've got this!" Ash exclaimed while reaching for his Z-Power Ring. "Let's go, Inferno Overdrive!"

"Typhlo!" Typhlosion screeched out before moving in synch with his trainer as a large ball of fire formed above him. Typhlosion then thrusted his palms forward, sending the large fire ball flying towards Mega Glalie!

"G-Glalie!" Mega Glalie cried out as the fire razed across his body, the pink light enveloped his body once more as he dropped to the ground. A soft thud was heard shortly before the light faded to reveal Glalie's defeated form. "Glalie..."

Finn's eyes widened as he stood in shock for a brief moment before making the final call. "G-Glalie is unable to continue battling, the win goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town."

"Alright, way to go Typhlosion!"

"Way to go, Ash!" Marnie cheered for her boyfriend.

"Pi Pikachu!"

"Typhlo!" Typhlosion cried out as he shot a celebratory flamethrower towards the sky above.

Glacia could only smile as she returned her fallen teammate before slowly making her way towards her opponent. "Well done Ash, you've succesfully beaten all four of Hoenn's Elite Four along with our former Champion! There's only one opponent standing in your way of becoming World Champion now, Steven Stone."

"And good luck beating him, he's gotten stronger ever since he regained his title from Wallace!" Finn chimed in. "I may still have doubts about you kid but I think you might actually pull it off."

"We'll certainly try our best!" Ash excitedly exclaimed with clenched fists, Pikachu and Typhlosion's expression matched his own. "We won't rest until we're strong enough to beat Cynthia, we'll be the very best like no one ever was!"

"Pika pi Pikachu!"

"Typhlo!"

Glacia smirked lightly while reaching into her dress pocket to reveal a white colored Mega Stone that contained a light and dark blue swirl within. "Well I think this will help out in your journey, Drake informed me that you have a Glalie of your own." She revealed upon placing the Mega Stone into his hand. "This is Glalitite, with it your Glalie can Mega Evolve!"

Ash's eyes lit up once more as he fantasized his own Glalie Mega Evolving, he couldn't wait to experience the phenomenon with his long time partner. "Thanks so much, I promise that I'll look after it!"

"So what to you plan on doing next?" Finn asked.

"Well he did promise Drake that he'd partake in a full six on six Pokemon battle the next time we saw him, I reckon it might be a good time to do it." Marnie spoke up.

"That's right, we've gotten stronger since then and I'd love to give it my all against him!" Ash eagerly exclaimed while glancing off towards the direction of Draco Island. "Just you wait, Drake. We'll be battling again real soon!"

"Grafa!" In a distant region, small lemur Pokemon hopped from tree to tree in search for food. Other Pokemon were at his usual spots and chased him off upon noticing him so he had no choice but to wander in search of food. Eventually his eyes landed upon a crate of large yellow berries, the lemur licked his lips and eagerly rubbed his hands together before plunging down into the berry crate, disappearing into the depths below as he began eagerly feasting.

"Choke!" A Machoke slammed down the crate lid a few minutes later, seemingly unaware of the stowaway as the Magikarp Salesman approached.

"Catching you was the best decision I ever made, apart from defending me from angry customers you also provide free labor!" The salesman spoke while gleefully rubbing his fists together. "Who would have ever guessed that the long thought extinct Hopo Berry was actually hidden away here in Paldea all this time, I'll make millions selling this stuff!" He gleefully exclaimed while slapping a label that read 'Hoenn' onto the berry crate.

"Choke, Machoke!" Machoke eagerly exclaimed before Magikarp Salesman gave him a light shove. "Now load these crates onto the boat, fortune awaits!"

After a long hiatus, I've returned. After a long period of self doubt, I finally met somebody that helped show me that I am loveable and that love does exist! I was just incredibly unlucky and not given a chance before I met her, I'm not ugly or boring just unlucky until now! So now I'm actually able to write romance again!

Originally Cetitan was going to be the only Paldean Pokemon that Ash met in this chapter but once the game released and I met Arctibax? I just had to include his line in the story! And a certain other thing wasn't originally planned either, I'll refrain from saying what it is in case you haven't played yet but if you have then you'll understand!

Grafaiai's inclusion was always meant to be, after all there's not many Poison types in this story so I figured he'd be perfect for the 'Next generation Pokemon taking a team slot' role like Munchlax, Bonsly and Mime Jr before him. Anyways next up is the Delta Emerald arc! Hope you all enjoyed it and apologies for the delay! :D
