IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!

Hey everyone, it's Beacon Alum.

I wish this was a new chapter, but sadly, it isn't. In fact, I won't be contributing any more chapters or stories for the foreseeable future. I'm truly sorry to all of the people who have read and enjoy Remnants of Magic and LATOADDW, but there is a reason for this.

About four weeks ago, I woke up feeling severe chest pains and shortness of breath that just wouldn't go away. Naturally, the first thing I did was get tested for COVID-19, but that test came back negative, so I chalked it up to allergies. You know, the changing of the seasons and all that. But then it happened again, and again, until there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't have pain of some kind.

After a week and a half of this, I finally went to the doctor when I began to cough up blood. My first thought was possibly an infection of some kind–I've had a bacterial lung infection in the past–so I wasn't terribly worried. The doctor took a sample of my blood and sent it back in for testing.

After a few days, I got a call from the aforementioned doctor asking me to come in for some more testing. While I was there, she asked me if there was a history of cancer or other similar illnesses in my family. I was adopted when I was born, so I really don't know, and I told the doctor as much. Just to be safe, I agreed to a biopsy. I got the results back last week.

I have Stage 3 lung cancer. Tumors have grown in my lungs and brachii, blocking the airflow and not letting me breathe effectively. I have surgery this Sunday to have them removed.

In light of this, all of my stories are going on an indefinite hiatus until further notice. Once again, I apologize to everyone who enjoyed my stories, but the next few weeks/months are going to be very difficult for me, and I just don't think I'll be able to find the time or energy to write. Hopefully, things will eventually go back to normal.

Thank you to everyone who's favorited, followed, and reviewed my stories.
