Hello everyone. Long time since I've written a story. I thought I would write one. I'm not so sure where this story is going to lead but I am going to try my best with it. This story is TIBBS. Tony and Gibbs romance story. Again, I'm not sure where to go with it but this is just for fun for us. So sit back, relax, and enjoy a TIBBS fanfic.
Disclaimer: I do not own NCIS characters or anything revolving around the show.
Without any more waiting, here she is...
Chapter 1
Gibbs woke up with a startle. His cellphone next to his bed was ringing. He grabbed it and flipped it open. "Yeah, Gibbs," he mumbled as he threw his legs over the side of the bed, rubbing the tiredness from his vision. "On my way." With that, Gibbs hung up the phone. A petty officer was found dead in Rock Creek Park. Gibbs quickly got dressed and went downstairs to start his truck. He heard the hum of his truck starting and put his shoes on to get out the door. It was the beginning of summer. The air was warm, and the trees buzzed with cicadas. Gibbs hopped into the truck and drove to NCIS. His drive was quiet; nothing to bother him, no noises. Just quiet. Gibbs turned on the radio and listened to the weather.
"It's gonna be a nice one out today folks! Sunny and 78 degrees, with a nice, light breeze. Make sure to wear your sunscreen because it is gonna be a perfect day to be outside!" Gibbs hummed at the news. At least it will be decent weather, he thought. Hopefully his agents won't be distracted too much with the nice weather. Gibbs' agents consisted of special agents Kate Todd, Tim McGee, and Tony Dinozzo. Tony... he thought. Tony has been with Gibbs for almost five years now. He was a damn good agent and a good friend. Tony always had Gibbs' six and knew exactly what Gibbs needed before he knew himself. Gibbs smiled at the thought of his agent. He felt something for the Italian. He has since he found Dinozzo in Baltimore. He wasn't sure why he had feelings for the man, but he knew they were there. Gibbs sighed as he pulled into NCIS parking. He nodded to the men at the gate and took the elevator to the bullpen. As he stepped off the elevator none of his agents had showed up yet. He grabbed the keys to truck, his side arm, and badge. As Gibbs closed his drawer, all three of his agents stepped off the elevator.
"Ya know, Tony, we don't always need to hear about your weekend lovers. Honestly, it concerns me you haven't gotten an STD yet," Kate said. Tony scoffed as they walked to their desks.
"Grab your gear. We have a case. Petty officer in Rock Creek Park." Gibbs stated. The agents grabbed their things. Gibbs tossed the keys to McGee who caught them in his hate.
"Oh, nice one McGee!" Tony high fived McGee with a smile. Gibbs rolled his eyes as he headed for the garage.
NCIS
All four agents hopped out of the truck and gathered their gear. Another truck from NCIS pulled up. Their medical examiner Dr. Mallard and his assistant Jimmy Palmer got out of the truck in their blue jumpers. Gibbs nodded to them as he walked over to the scene of the crime. He knelt down to look at the petty officer's face.
"Dinozzo, shoot and sketch. Kate, bag and tag. McGee, go interview," Gibbs stated. The agents split into their tasks and began to work the crime scene. "What do we got Duck?" He turned to face the beloved M.E.
"Well, Jethro. It looks like our young petty officer perished between 0600 and 0700," Ducky said as he pulled and read the liver probe. He began to look over the body for any marks and injuries.
"Any signs of a struggle?"
"No. I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary, Jethro. I will know more as soon as we get him home. Do we have identification? I am not finding anything on him." Ducky searched the man head to toe for a wallet or any other identification.
"Let me check with the local LEO's." Gibbs stood up and walked over towards the local police. McGee jogged over to him from the left.
"No one heard or saw anything this morning. A female jogger by the name of Emily Kraft found him this morning. She said she didn't touch anything but immediately called the police. I gave her my card to call me if she remembers anything else," McGee explained.
"Good work, McGee. Go help bag and tag." McGee nodded and started towards the scene. Gibbs found a cop and stopped him before he went anywhere else. He flashed his badge. "Special Agent Gibbs, NCIS. When you arrived did anyone touch the body?"
"No. I was first on scene and then officer Jarn was after me. We saw the Marine symbols on his joggers and shirt, figured he must be a Marine. We called you." Gibbs nodded.
"Here's my card. Call me if you can think of anything." The cop nodded and Gibbs walked back towards the crime scene. He saw Tony sitting over by the truck and jogged to him. "As he got closer, he saw a distraught look on Tony's face. He faced Tony. "Dinozzo, what's wrong?" Tony looked up to him.
"I knew that man," Tony said quietly. Gibbs sat next to him on the edge of the truck. "I saw him this weekend at the Club X. We uh.." He paused.
"You what, Tony?" Gibbs asked. Tony bit his lip. Dammit Tony don't tell me... "Dinozzo, c'mon."
"We danced at the club. We went home together and hung out." Tony paused.
"Did you sleep with him?" No words. Gibbs repeated his question, more sternly this time. "Dinozzo, did you sleep with him?" Tony nodded slowly. Gibbs took a step back. He never had a clue that Tony was gay. Or bisexual.
"We slept together a few times. He wanted a relationship and I told him no, I wasn't interested in a relationship with him. Gibbs, please don't say anything to the rest of the team. I don't want them to know I'm bi. Please." Tony eyes brimmed with tears. Gibbs nodded.
"What is his name?"
"His name was Michael Hafter. He was a petty officer first class. He was home for the weekend. He said he wanted to party this weekend, but he wanted to stay with me. I am pretty sure he left his wallet at my place, Gibbs. That's why it isn't here," Tony explained. Gibbs nodded.
"Alright, well let's get everything back to NCIS and figure out what's going on. Go help McGee and Kate finish up, Tony." Tony nodded and walked over to Kate. Well, this changes things a lot, Gibbs thought. Tony was bi. Gibbs was bi. Gibbs could have a relationship with the man he has been wanting a relationship with for a while now. Gibbs rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. His name was called and brought him out of his thoughts.
"Gibbs, I think we found something," Kate called out. Gibbs jogged over to Kate, who was standing by a large bush. In her hand was an evidence bag with a small silver arrow with an orange cone attached.
"What is it?" Tony asked. Gibbs frowned.
"I'm not really sure. Make sure this gets to Abby ASAP," Gibbs said. All four agents gathered up evidence and loaded it into the truck. "Tony up front, we need to talk." Kate and McGee silently made fun of Tony as they climbed into the truck. Gibbs hopped in the driver side and shut his door. As the truck started, Tony climbed in and buckled.
"Whatcha need boss?" Tony looked down in his lap. Gibbs turned to look at him.
"Do you need to sit out of this case?" Tony whipped his head around.
"Of course not, Gibbs. I can handle this. We had no real feelings towards each other. It was just a fling," Tony explained. Gibbs carefully studied Tony's face for any hint of weakness. Anything that would tell Gibbs he couldn't do this case. He found nothing.
"Okay," he said. Gibbs started the truck and they drove back to NCIS. Tony spoke up once more.
"Are you freaked out by my revelation? That I'm...you know." Tony paused. Gibbs shook his head. Tony sighed with relief. "Okay, good, because I don't know if I could deal with you being freaked out. I mean I don't think our work dynamic would work if you were weirded out by the fact that I am bi. Not to mention that-"
"Dinozzo." Tony turned towards Gibbs in silence. Gibbs smiled with a chuckle. Tony smiled too. "You're good. Let's get this case started and figure out what's happened. We can talk more about this later." Gibbs turned into the parking garage and parked the truck. Everyone hopped out and unloaded the car. "Get everything up to Abby and tell her to put a rush on it." Gibbs grabbed an evidence cart for the team and headed inside. He took the elevator up to the bullpen and tried to relax. He stopped the elevator between floors. Gibbs leaned against the cool steel of the elevator. Okay, so what. He is bisexual. That doesn't mean he likes you Marine. Get it together! Gibbs patted his cheeks to wake himself up to the new realization. He started the elevator again and waited as the doors opened. Once they opened, he went to his desk and looked thru his emails.
"Gibbs, a word." Gibbs turned to the voice. It was Agent Fornell of the FBI. He furrowed his brow.
"Sure. What are you doing here?"
"Not here. Conference room?" Gibbs nodded. He set his badge down and stood. He followed Fornell to the elevator and once more stopped it. Fornell and Gibbs faced each other with arms crossed against their chest. "Did you find the murder weapon of your case yet?"
"Fornell we just got back. We didn't even-"
"Didn't even see any marks or struggle marks?" Fornell questioned. Gibbs glared at Fornell.
"How do you know?" Gibbs took a step towards his FBI friend. Fornell sighed.
"We have an open case right now. Someone is taking down men with a poisoned blow dart. This guy has killed 5 other men. All different men, no connection between any of them except one thing. They all have been to Club X the weekend before," Fornell explained. Gibbs blew out an exasperated sigh. "Find out if this guy did, Gibbs."
"I already know he did."
"How?" Gibbs looked down.
"Tony."
"Tony? You mean, your Tony."
"He is not my Tony, Tobias," Gibbs warned. Fornell held his hands up in surrender.
"Alright, alright. So, let me guess, Tony is bi? He slept with this guy or just danced with him?"
"That is none of your business," Gibbs warned. He glared at Fornell. "Either way if this guy is targeting men from this club, then we need to figure out who this guy is and why he is doing this."
"You think I don't know that? We've been trying for the last six months to find evidence on this guy. He leaves nothing at his crime scenes. Not a speck of DNA. Nothing. Not even a fingerprint. He's smart," Fornell explained. Gibbs sighed and then remembered something. The silver dart.
"What does a blowgun dart look like?"
"What?"
"Fornell, what does a blowgun dart look like?" Fornell thought for a second.
"It small, maybe four inches long. Made of steel." Gibbs turned the elevator on and went down to Abby's lab. "Gibbs, why ya ask?"
"I believe our guy had a slip up. I think he left a dart at the scene." Gibbs walked into Abby's lab with Fornell following close behind. Abby's lab was loud with her music. Gibbs turned off her stereo and she turned.
"Gibbs. I'm fast but not that fast," she said. She turned to see Fornell behind him. Fornell waved. "Hi Fornell. What are you doing at NCIS on this fine day?"
"Abby, have you seen the silver metal dart thing yet?" Gibbs looked through all the evidence to find it.
"Yes, actually. I dusted it for prints and found a partial. I am running it through AFIS as we speak. I found the cone was still attached too, so I swabbed that for anything incriminating. I can tell you that it is a blow dart. Used with the blow dart gun, and it can be used for hunting animals." Abby said.
"Good work, Abs. Keep it up. I'll send Fornell down with a Caf!Pow for you." Gibbs started to walk out of the lab with Fornell on his tail.
"What? You mean I have schlep for you?" Gibbs nodded and pressed the up button on the elevator. Both men stepped in and rode the elevator to the lobby. Gibbs gave Fornell money for the Caf!Pow and kicked him out of the elevator. Fornell groaned. "Keep me posted!" He shouted as the doors closed. Gibbs nodded and rode the elevator up to the bullpen. All three agents sat at their desks.
"What do we got?" Gibbs asked. Tony started first.
"Okay, so this is petty officer Michael Hafter. He was home on leave and was to return today to report for duty. He was out on a run this morning and found dead around 0730." Kate interrupted.
"Hafter was an only child and his parents passed away 2 years ago in a car accident. Hafter did not have a place to live around the immediate DC area, and I haven't found where he was staying for the weekend." Tony bit his lip. Gibbs saw the nervous action and looked at the big screen where Hafter's face was.
"McGee what else?" Gibbs turned to him. McGee sighed.
"His phone was destroyed when we found it laying on the ground beside him. It looks like it was stomped on. I'm trying to fix it so I can find any recent contacts and any other information on him." Gibbs nodded.
"Keep looking McGee. Tony, I want you to help McGee with the phone. Kate, I want you to call FBI and talk to them about this case. Fornell told me this is the same M.O as a case they've been working on for six months already. Get anything you can." Gibbs phone began to ring. He answered it. "Gibbs." A pause. "On my way, Duck." Gibbs hung up the phone and began towards the elevator. On his ride down to autopsy he began to think of the case. Why a blow dart gun? You'd have to be within fifteen to twenty yards to be accurate enough. He entered autopsy and found Ducky with the man on the table.
"Ah, Jethro. This is an interesting case indeed."
"Is that so?"
"Why, yes, Jethro. This man died of the smallest thing. A blow dart." Ducky held the dart up in his hand. The dart was covered in Hafter's blood. "The dart was shot into his heart. Cut open the aortic artery and our poor petty officer died as a result of bleeding internally. However, I noticed a slimy substance on the end of the dart itself. I assume it was most likely poison, as a second chance to kill this man."
"A second chance, Duck?" Gibbs looked at the dart closer. Ducky nodded.
"Yes, indeed. Had the dart not been accurately shot into his heart, the poison would eventually kill him. However, with the blow dart, you would have to be quite accurate, and have enough power behind the blow to launch it far. I remember as a young man when I traveled, there was a village that would use blow darts are a weapon to hunt animals. However, when I watched them hunt, they would have to be pretty close. If you were not close, you wouldn't have hit the target. Jethro, I'm afraid whoever we are after is incredibly smart and deathly accurate. We must watch our backs. Especially because the blow gun is very quiet. That is why many use it to hunt small game such as rabbits and squirrels here in the States," Ducky rambled on. Gibbs nodded.
"Thanks Duck. Let me know if you find anything else." Gibbs left autopsy quickly before Ducky could continue on with his story. As he left, he bumped into Tony coming off the elevator.
"Boss, I remember something about this weekend," Tony held the door open for Gibbs to hop onto the elevator. Gibbs got on and waited for Tony to continue. "This weekend, when I was at Club X with Michael... I mean Hafter. There was this one guy who kept following Hafter and I around. He was kind of creepy and kept giving me the heebie jeebies. When Michael and I were about to leave, the guy disappeared. I couldn't find him after we left but I kept getting the feeling that someone was watching me all weekend," Tony stopped the elevator before it reached their floor. "Boss?" Nothing but silence.
"Tony, we think this guy is targeting men who sleep with men. The last few people killed were all gay or bi. I don't want you to be next on his list." Tony sighed softly.
"Gibbs c'mon you don't think..." Gibbs glared. "Alright, alright. Lay low. For now." Gibbs nodded. "Listen, Gibbs... I was wondering if I could stay with you for a couple days. Just until this case blows over?"
"Not a bad idea. Safer with me." Gibbs turned the elevator back on. Oh man. I hope I can handle him staying with me, Gibbs thought. He sighed and stepped out of the elevator with Tony. They continued to work closely on the case. Gibbs knew he needed to find this guy soon before he takes Tony or any other man. Gibbs looked over to Tony's desk and studied him as he worked. Tony's strong jawline and beautiful green eyes. His voice was smooth and calming as he talked on the phone. Gibbs shifted in his chair as his pants became tight with arousal. I think I am screwed, he thought.
Here is the end of Chapter 1. More to come in the future. Literally. ;) Can't wait to write more.
