I can't believe it's been two months since I've last updated this story. I am so sorry that it took me so long to get this out but I am back and ready to keep going. So here's the first episode of season 2!
Random note: So I know that Daniel Sharman is on The Originals along with Danielle Campbell (Delilah's face claim) and that they are a thing on the show. I don't watch The Originals, but I have looked up some clips of the two from the show and oh my goodness, they are the most adorable pair ever! And the fact that I've had those two paired together in my story before Daniel was on the show just made my feels for them a thousand times stronger! I definitely ship Daniel and Danielle so hard! And if any of you guys wanna make graphics of Isaac and Delilah (or of any of the couples in my other stories), that would freakin' awesome!
Okay, I'm done rambling for now. Enjoy the chapter!
Isaac woke up the next morning with the sun shining through the window directly on his face. Groaning, he ran his hand over his face before snuggling his head deeper into his pillow. That was when he realized that he wasn't in his room. His eyebrows scrunched together when he looked down at the plush purple pillow underneath his head, which was much softer than the one on his own bed. Then Isaac noticed the lack of clothing on his body, confirming where he was.
Chuckling breathlessly, he shifted so he was now lying on his back. He rested his arm on his forehead. Last night actually did happen- it wasn't a dream. Isaac made love to Delilah. And it was the most incredible moment he had ever experienced in his life. Who would have thought that Isaac Lahey, the grave digger who was abused and labeled as an outcast, would lose his virginity to Delilah Lambert, one of the most loved girls in the school? But he did. He felt like that he was now on top of the world and not even the thought that he had to go home to face his father later could bring him out of his bliss.
Speaking of Delilah, the blond finally noticed that his girlfriend wasn't lying beside him anymore. She had probably woken up already. Isaac looked at the alarm clock next to her side of the bed and saw that it was 10:03 so he should maybe get up, too. He pushed his upper body so he was sitting on the edge of the bed and grabbed his boxers and pants that were lying on the floor. After he pulled those on, Isaac got up and walked out of the bedroom.
When Isaac reached the bottom of the stairs, he could hear Delilah humming in the kitchen. He ran a hand through his curls and smiled as his eyes landed on the brunette cooking something on the stove. It looked like Delilah had already showered since her hair up in a messy bun. The only clothes she wore were a white Aztec print hoodie and a pair of black booty shorts. Her sleeves were rolled up so Isaac could see the scars and bruises that covered her arms and also her legs. While those marks on his girlfriend's body upset him every time he saw them, Isaac was glad that Delilah wasn't afraid to hide her body from him anymore since she let him explore every single inch of her the night before.
He walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach. Isaac expected her to tense up at this but she just leaned into his touch even more. "Good morning, beautiful," he said, placing a gentle kiss on her neck.
"Good morning," Delilah giggled, "I'm guessing you had a very good sleep last night."
"Mhmm, I did," Isaac smiled, "Especially when I had you lying right beside me. How are you feeling?"
"A little sore," the dancer admitted, "but it's nothing I can't handle."
"Oh," Isaac said with a slight frown, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you or anything like that."
Delilah just chuckled. "Isaac, it's totally fine. It's expected to hurt a little after the first time having sex. But I'm okay. I'm walking, aren't I?"
"Yeah, you're right about that," her boyfriend laughed along.
He stood beside Delilah and continued to watch her finish cooking breakfast. Occasionally, they would steal glances at each other and smile bashfully. No words were spoken, but they didn't mind the comfortable silence. Right as Delilah turned the stove off, Isaac walked back up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He pressed his forehead against hers as her arms went around his neck.
"Hey," he said softly, "Last night… was hands down the best night of my life. Everything about it was just perfect. And not just because we had sex. It also got to spend the whole night with you."
As Delilah smiled widely, dimples imprinted on her cheeks. "It was perfect for me, too. Better than anything I imagined."
"I'm glad to heart that," Isaac said, "I really do love you, Delilah. So much."
"And I love you." Delilah stood on her toes as she kissed Isaac's lips. He hugged her closer to his body as he kissed her back passionately. As soon as his hands slipped underneath the back of Delilah's sweater, a loud ding went off, making the two jump apart from each other. Delilah laughed at herself for being so jittery. "Well, now we know the toast is ready."
"You might wanna get that before the house burns down," Isaac teased, playfully biting his girlfriend's bottom lip.
"For your information, Isaac, I am a great cook," Delilah shot back, "I'm confident that I can make breakfast without starting a fire."
"Whatever you say, babe." Isaac chuckled before giving Delilah another kiss and pulling away to grab some plates.
They filled up their plates with the food Delilah made, which consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. While Isaac set their plates and silverware on the table, Delilah poured a couple glasses of orange juice. She went to go sit across from her boyfriend but he wrapped his arm around her hips and gently pulled her down next to him. A big smile stretched across her face when he kissed the side of her head.
Breakfast was quiet, but that was no problem for either one of them. Both of them felt that they had reached a point in their relationship where not a lot of words really needed to be spoken. It was actually a relief, to be honest. They were both afraid that after they had sex, it was going to be very awkward to be around each other. The situation couldn't have been any more opposite. Because they were in an intimate position, the couple now felt that they had nothing to hide from each other. They were even closer to each other, as if it was possible to do so. It was a little terrifying that they fell so hard in such a short amount of time, but at the same time, it couldn't have felt any more natural. Like this was exactly how it was supposed to turn out for them.
After they ate, Isaac helped Delilah wash the dishes and put them away. He couldn't stay much longer because he had to go back home so he could get ready for work. Plus he figured that his dad was already extremely pissed that Isaac didn't come home from the dance so he didn't want to risk staying out later than he should. Isaac went back up to Delilah's room to put on his shirt and shoes and grab the rest of his stuff. Delilah then walked him out to the front door.
"Are you sure you're gonna be okay?" Delilah asked, "If you want, I could drop you off at work on my way to the store."
"No, I should go home," Isaac said, "I have to face my dad eventually. I'd rather have it be sooner than later." He cupped her cheek in his hand. "What about you? Will you be okay by yourself?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine," the dancer assured him, "I was gonna ask Erica if she wanted to hang out later anyway so I wouldn't be alone."
A sigh slipped past the blond's lips. "Alright, well, be careful tonight. And if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me." Leaning down, he gave Delilah a small but loving kiss. "I love you."
"I love you, too, Isaac," Delilah said, smiling.
She gave him one more kiss before letting him walk out of the house. The biggest smile broke out on her face the longer the previous day's events replayed in her head. Electricity buzzed through Delilah's body as she thought about the way Isaac's hands were so gentle, like he didn't want her to break. He gave her nothing but tender, love, and care, and Delilah could not have felt any luckier to call him hers.
Feeling extremely giddy, Delilah ran up to her room and grabbed her phone from her nightstand. She texted Erica for her to come over as soon as she could and that she had so much to tell her. Apparently, she didn't have to wait long because only eight minutes later, someone knocked on the door. A grin was plastered on her face as Delilah ran back downstairs to open the door for Erica.
"You are not gonna believe what happened last night," the brunette said before pulling Erica in her house and upstairs to her room.
"Whoa there, girly," Erica laughed nervously, "Is everything alright?"
"Yep," Delilah answered with a chipper tone, "I've never been better."
"Are you sure?" Erica placed her hand on Delilah's forehead. "I think you might be running a fever there."
Giggling, Delilah swatted her friend's hand away. "No, I am not running a fever. And I don't have any other sort of illness." She couldn't help but bounce on the balls of her feet in excitement. "Isaac and I finally had sex."
Erica's eyes grew so wide that Delilah swore that her eyes were about to pop out of her head. "What?! You- oh my god! Holy shit! Are you serious?"
"Cross my heart and hope to die."
"Oh my god!" Erica sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to her. "You better sit down and tell me everything right now."
"Well," Delilah started, taking a seat, "we went to the dance, which was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. We only had each other, but we managed to make it fun."
"I don't wanna hear about the dance, Delilah," the blonde said, waving her hand around, "What happened afterwards?"
"Actually, about a couple hours before the dance ended, Isaac asked me if I wanted to leave and then come back here. I kinda had an idea what he was planning but I wasn't really too sure. But I said yes and then we came back here. We started kissing and things got heated so we took it to my room. Clothes started coming off then… well, you get the picture."
"Good for you, girl!" Erica squealed, lightly smacking Delilah's knee, "So how was it? Is Isaac good or bad in bed?" She playfully nudged Delilah with her elbow. "Come on, you can tell me."
The brunette shook her head and chuckled. "God, you're such a dork! But seriously? It was amazing. Although, it did hurt a little in the beginning. You know, when it first went in…" Delilah blushed a bit at the confession. "But Isaac was so sweet about it and made sure I was okay before he continued. It wasn't perfect, of course. The first time is never perfect. Just being with Isaac was incredible and made the whole experience unforgettable. Especially when we both said 'I love you'."
"He told you he loved you?" Erica asked in awe. She placed a hand over her heart and smiled. "Aw, that's amazing, Delilah. I'm so happy for you two. You both deserve to find love like this." Reaching over, she pulled her best friend in a hug.
"Thanks, Erica," Delilah said, smiling when she let the blonde's words soak in, "I'm really happy, too."
"So, I gotta ask… how big is he?" Erica asked, wiggling her eyebrows. Delilah grabbed her pillow and hit Erica on the arm, only making the girl laugh hysterically.
Just as he predicted earlier, as soon as Isaac got home from Delilah's house, he was met with his dad's wrath. It started with about five long minutes of yelling obscenities at the boy, the words 'irresponsible' and 'stupid' used repeatedly. Then Dave moved on to the physical punishment that lasted another ten minutes. By the end of it all, Isaac ended up with new bruises and scratches on his body and even a black eye. Dave eventually got bored and retired to his room. Once Isaac was able to stand up with wobbling legs, he cleaned himself up to get ready for his shift at the cemetery.
Even all of the abuse he received from not coming home when he was supposed to was not as bad as he sought it out to be. In the end, he still had the night of his life with his beautiful girlfriend. She was worth any sort of punishment that came Isaac's way.
After showering and putting on cleaner clothes, Isaac hopped on his bike and pedaled to the cemetery. Everything went on as usual so far. There was some paperwork that needed to be filled and then he had to start digging up spots for upcoming funerals. It was nothing out of the ordinary.
Until it reached his fifth hour at the graveyard.
Isaac was on the backhoe, creating a spot for a woman named Kate Argent to be buried in the next day. It was getting dark out, almost pitch black. While it would have freaked other people out to be wandering around a graveyard at this time, Isaac was used to being out there all by himself. At one point, he stopped the backhoe and ran his hand through his sandy blond curls, letting out a deep sigh. Delilah was still at home by herself and Isaac couldn't help but wonder if she was okay. So he pulled his phone out of his pocket to send her a text asking how she was doing.
That was when he started hearing noises. He looked around but saw nothing but tombstones and statues. Everything seemed to be in place. It was probably just the wind. Isaac was about to shrug it off and go back to work when he heard the noises again. Only this time, they were much louder. Looking off to the side, Isaac saw something that was very odd. The lights on the backhoe shone on a larger tombstone that had a hand creeping around the front of it.
What was even odder about it was that the hand had claws. Like the type of claws a wild animal had.
"What the hell?" Isaac said to himself, scrunching his face up in confusion.
Out of nowhere, he felt something hit the side of the backhoe, catching him off guard. Then it started to topple over. Isaac gripped onto the machine so he wouldn't fall, but it was too late. He ended up falling into the hole he was digging up. The backhoe blocked the top so the poor boy was trapped with no way out.
Holy shit. Isaac was going to die. He was going to die tonight in a graveyard. This couldn't have been any more ironic. At least there was now a spot dug up so he could easily be buried in. That didn't make this situation any less terrifying.
Luckily, he didn't have to worry about dying in a hole much longer. The backhoe was suddenly lifted and turned upright to Isaac's amazement. He was mentally contemplating on how he was going to get out of there when he saw a pair of jean-cladded legs circling around him.
Maybe Isaac spoke too soon. Maybe he was going to be murdered tonight.
Coming into view was a man that looked to be only a few years older than Isaac. His short hair was as black as the night itself and his eyes were like a strange combination of green and blue. Stubble grew on his jaw, giving him a rugged look. The dark outfit he wore was completed with a leather jacket, which made Isaac think that this was not a guy you'd want to fuck around with. He swallowed the large lump forming in his throat as the stranger bent down near the hole.
"Need a hand?" he asked, holding his hand out to Isaac.
He looked back and forth between the man and his hand, not really sure whether to trust him or not. But the stern look on the older male's face told him to just grab on. Not wanting the man to lose his patience, Isaac grabbed his hand and let him pull him out of the hole. Once he was out, Isaac brushed the dirt off his clothes as he stood up.
"Are you Isaac Lahey?" the man asked.
"Uh, y-yeah," Isaac stuttered, "That's me. I'm s-sorry, did you need help with something?"
"Actually, I'm here to help you. My name's Derek Hale."
"Derek Hale…" Isaac's voice trailed off as he tried to remember where he heard that name before. Then it hit him. "Wait, aren't you the guy who locked some of those students in the high school and murdered that one girl? I thought you were arrested."
"I was found to be innocent," Derek said, "The charges were dropped and I was exonerated. So, no. I did not trap those students and kill that girl."
Isaac nodded his head, but he still wasn't too convinced that this guy was not as good as he claimed to be. "Uh huh. Look, I really don't think you should be here right now. It's best if… if you just leave." He backed away slowly, his hand reaching for his phone if he needed to call the police.
"That's quite the shiner you have there," Derek commented, making Isaac still his movements, "How did you get it?"
"It's from lacrosse," Isaac mumbled, averting his eyes away from Derek's stare, "I fell during practice."
"Funny. I don't understand how someone can get a black eye from being benched the whole time. Especially when their father's not there to give it to them."
Hearing this made Isaac's eyes grow wide. No one really ever comments on his injuries other than Delilah. They just never cared enough to say anything about them. So why was this random guy pressing on about this?
Slowly, Isaac looked up at Derek with scared eyes. "How do you know about that?"
"Never mind how I know," Derek said, walking up to the teenager. He slipped his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket. "What if I told you that there was a way to rid of all of the pain and suffering? A way to change your life for the better?"
"What are you talking about?" Isaac asked.
What he saw next was so extraordinary that he wasn't even sure if he was imagining it at all. Derek rolled his neck, causing the bones to crack. Then his ears grew longer and pointier. More hair started growing on his face, his sideburns meeting his stubble. His face scrunched together and it was now beastly looking, almost dog-like. When he opened his eyes, they were no longer green. Instead, they were now blood red. Derek bared his teeth and showed off sharp fangs. And when Isaac looked down at his hands, he noticed that those were the claws that freaked him out earlier.
Back away, Isaac gripped onto the backhoe to regain his balance since he thought his legs were going to give out on him. This could not be real. He blinked his eyes rapidly, only to come to the conclusion that he wasn't dreaming and this was in fact happening.
"You- how did you… what the hell are you?"
"I'm the answer to your problems, Isaac," Derek said, shifting back into his human form, "I am an alpha werewolf, the highest status of my kind. And as an alpha, I have to have a pack stand behind me to help fight off any sort of danger that threatens not only werewolves, but Beacon Hills overall. I think you would make a promising addition to my pack. A beta, if you will."
"Uh…" Isaac started, not really sure how to process everything that was happening, "Why do you want me?"
"You seem like a loyal kid," Derek said, "And I feel that if you want something, you'll do what it takes to make it happen. Based on your home life, you are able to put yourself through difficult situations, which is brave and a needed quality in being a werewolf. If you accept my offer, you will become faster, stronger, and more powerful than you've ever been in your life. You will no longer be the kid who is always pushed around, an outcast… you'll be somebody. Just take a good look at Scott McCall. He went from a pathetic loser to the co-captain of the lacrosse team."
"Scott McCall's a werewolf?" Isaac asked in disbelief, "Damn… that actually explains a lot."
Derek nodded his head. "You could have that same success. And best of all, you could finally defend yourself if your father ever tries to lay a hand on you again. All you have to do is accept the bite."
This was all too much for Isaac to wrap around his head. It was so sketchy. Why should he trust some guy he's just met minutes ago? "Thanks, but I think I'll pass." He turned around to walk away.
"That girlfriend of yours sure is something special, isn't she?"
Isaac halted his steps at this. His breath hitched as his stomach churned and his heart beat erratically. Slowly, he spun back to face Derek.
"What did you just say?"
"It's Delilah, right?" Derek continued, "Delilah Lambert. Yeah, she's a cute girl. Very good-hearted." He made a tsk as he shook his head. "It's just such a shame that she has to go through the tragedy of being abused and pushed around by her stepfather every night while her drunk and drugged-up mother just stands by and watches it all happen. Almost like you." Isaac's fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. "God, it must absolutely kill you to know that every night when you're not there, you girlfriend is at home being beat up by the people who are supposed to be her family or crying on the bathroom floor with bleeding wrists and there's nothing you can do to stop it. But, what if you can? Consider this, Isaac. Become like me, you can protect her from any sort of harm. She'll never have to be afraid anymore as long as you're with her. You'll become her hero. Isn't that what you really want? To become the hero to the girl you claim to love?"
Now this guy was playing mind games. How dare he use Delilah's tragic home life to his benefit to get to Isaac? Had he not have a sense of consideration in his body whatsoever? But Isaac would be lying if he said that it wasn't intriguing him a little more. And it wasn't like Derek was wrong. That boy would do absolutely everything for his girl and he wanted nothing more than for her to be safe all the time, meaning that he might have to make unusual precautions like becoming a werewolf.
"Can I think about it?" Isaac asked.
"I'll give you two days max," Derek told him, "Once you've decided, come to this address." He handed Isaac a little note. When he read the address, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Wait, why do you want me to meet you at an…"
Isaac looked up only to find Derek gone. He searched around him, but all that did was make his head spin. This whole night was just way too much for him to handle. All he wanted to do was sleep it off, but sadly, there were graves that needed to needed to be dug up. With a sigh, Isaac climbed on the backhoe and went back to work.
Apparently sometime after Isaac got off of work, there was a robbery at the graveyard and Lydia Martin, who was attacked at winter formal, escaped from the hospital and came through here. Isaac went with his father the next morning to go check it out and talk to the police. They stood by as the police investigated the crime scene. After a while, Sheriff Stilinski and Deputy Henderson walked over to Dave and Isaac to ask them questions about what they know.
"And what was your name again, son?" Deputy Henderson asked.
"It's Lahey," the teenager responded, "Isaac Lahey."
"You work for your father, Isaac?" Sheriff Stilinski asked him.
Just as Isaac was about to answer, Dave spoke up. "When he's not in school," he said. He glared over at his son. "Which is where he needs to be in twenty minutes."
"Yeah, we understand that," Sheriff Stilinski said, "But we've got a missing teenage girl, and our K-9 unit led us here. She's not wearing any clothes, and if she's out here tonight, and the temperature really drops-"
The sheriff continued to talk, but Isaac tuned out when he noticed Derek standing off in the distance, watching the conversation and most likely listening.
"I'm sorry," Isaac finally said, shaking off Derek's mysterious ways, "I… I didn't see anything."
"Trust me," Dave snickered, "if he saw a naked girl outside a computer screen, he'd remember. Actually, now that I think about it, after Saturday night, the only naked girl Isaac has eyes for now is his precious Delilah."
Deputy Henderson noticed the way Isaac's jaw tightened at the way his father talked about the girl. Before he could say anything else to make the boy upset, Deputy Henderson decided to step in. "Your girlfriend's Delilah Lambert?"
"Y-yes, sir," Isaac answered, nodding his head.
"My daughter Natalie worked with her on a class project last year," Deputy Henderson said, "She's a good kid. You picked a very nice girl, son."
Isaac smiled lightly in appreciation. "Thanks." The deputy nodded his head.
"How'd you get that black eye, Isaac?" Sheriff Stilinski asked.
"School," Isaac lied easily under his father's glare.
"School fight?"
Shaking his head, Isaac replied, "Nah, lacrosse."
"Lacrosse?" Deputy Henderson asked, "You play lacrosse for Beacon Hills High?"
"Yeah."
"My son plays for the team," Sheriff Stilinski said, "Well, I mean, he's… he's on the team. He doesn't typically play. Not yet, anyway. It's, uh…" He paused when he noticed Isaac looking a little distant. "Something wrong, Isaac?"
"No," Isaac said, breaking his attention away from the spot Derek was standing but is now gone, "Oh, no, sorry. I was just remembering, I actually have a morning practice to get to."
"Just one more question," Sheriff Stilinski promised, "You guys get many grave robberies here?"
"A few," Isaac answered, "Usually, they just take stuff like jewelry."
"And what did they take this time?" Deputy Henderson asked.
"Her liver."
The two police officers looked at each other which suspicious expressions. "Huh," Deputy Henderson said, "Alright, I think we have everything we need from you, Isaac. You're free to leave and get going to school."
"Thank you," Isaac said to them, "And I'm sorry that I wasn't enough help for you."
"Don't worry about it, kid," Sheriff Stilinski assured him with a small smile, "You were more than enough help."
With a slight nod, Isaac walked over to the front gate to claim his bike. He hopped on it then rode off to school to get to practice on time. Like always, it went by pretty slowly. That's what happens when you hardly get to participate and sit off to the side all the time. Isaac did get to play a little, so it wasn't a total bore. In the locker room after practice, Coach Finstock discussed more about Lydia Martin running around the town and if anyone helped find her, their grades would be raised to A's. Everyone seemed to be excited about that, but Isaac was doing okay in Coach Finstock's classes so he didn't both signing up. Plus, there were other things going on that he had to worry about.
The other classes throughout day seemed to drag on, too. Especially when Isaac got to chemistry. They were taking a quiz so the silence gave him the opportunity to think. With Delilah sitting next to him, Isaac stressed even more about the proposition Derek gave him the previous night. If he hadn't brought his girlfriend up, Isaac wouldn't have ever even thought about taking the offer. But now it was all he could think about. Who would have ever believed that one day, a random guy would just pop up out of the blue and casually offer to turn you into a freakin' werewolf? No one would! And Isaac was still having a hard time wrapping his head around that.
Honestly, the personal benefits Isaac would gain from accepting the bite wasn't what intrigued him. It was the fact that with this new change, there was a strong possibility that he could protect Delilah from any more abuse, both from Lawrence and herself. He wasn't exactly sure how he could actually do that. But with the strength being a werewolf could provide, he could physically fight Lawrence back if he was ever in a situation where he could. Isaac was willing to do whatever it takes to make his sweet Delilah feel safe and never be scared of anything ever again.
Before he knew it, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. Isaac jotted down the final few answers on the quiz and then turned it in to Mr. Harris. After Delilah turned in her paper, she laced her fingers with Isaac's and walked out of the room.
"So how do you think you did?" Delilah asked him.
"It wasn't too bad," Isaac said, shrugging his shoulders a bit, "Some of the questions were harder than others, but I think I did fine."
"Well, I sure hope so," Delilah giggled, "We did spend, like, five hours covering that chapter last Tuesday. It might as well be a second language to me now." When she looked up at Isaac, he was looking down at his feet and biting his bottom lip. "Hey, are you okay?"
His head snapped up. "Hmm? Oh. Yeah. I'm good. Just have a lot on my mind, that's all."
"Oh, okay." Delilah clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "Um, do you wanna talk about it?"
"No, it's nothing you need to worry about," Isaac assured her, "Let's just go outside and eat our lunch." He slung his arm around her shoulders and smiled down at her. "Like we always do." Delilah smiled back and wrapped both her arms around his waist.
They went outside to the lacrosse field and sat at the top corner of the bleachers. After eating their lunch, Isaac pulled Delilah closer to him so she was sitting between his legs and her back was pressed against his chest. He placed kisses on her neck as they sat there in a comfortable silence. No matter how peaceful the atmosphere was, Isaac's mind was far from it.
"Can I ask you something?" he mumbled into Delilah's neck.
"Of course," she said, "You know you can ask me anything."
Isaac took a deep breath. "If… if there was anything you could do to change your life, you know… like with Lawrence and your mom… would you do it?"
"It depends. What sort of thing are you talking about?" Delilah asked.
"I don't know," her boyfriend said, trying to pick the right words to say, "Maybe… trying something new. Something that you've never thought about trying before that makes you feel better about yourself. Something that makes you happy. Kind of like a lifestyle change."
With furrowed eyebrows, the brunette pulled away from Isaac and searched his face. "Are you… please tell me that you're not talking about drugs."
"Wait, what?"
"Because you know that with my mom and Lawrence, I am completely against that stuff," Delilah said, "And I know that there are some drugs out there that I know are designed to make you feel good, but there are much better ways to do that."
"Delilah, I-"
"Hold on," Delilah continued, "You're not doing drugs, are you? I know that there are some guys on the lacrosse team that use steroids to increase their strength and speed so they would perform better. Especially Greenberg, but then again, he's always been a little sketchy so that doesn't really surprise me-"
"Baby," Isaac interrupted, cradling his girlfriend's face in his hands, "Take a deep breath and relax. I promise you, I am not doing drugs, nor will I ever try to persuade you to do drugs. I would never go down that road."
"Then what's going on, Isaac?" Delilah asked softly, placing her hands over his.
Sighing, the blond took her hands in his. "I promise you that it's nothing to worry about. It's just that… last night, I talked to this guy about some of the things that I've been going through at home."
"Like a guidance counselor?" Delilah asked.
"Uh, yeah," Isaac said hesitantly, "Something like that. Anyway, he's offered to help me not feel so weak and become stronger. What that exactly means, I'm not sure. I'm guessing he'd teach me things like self-defense. So, like, if my dad tries to do anything, I can protect myself."
"That sounds… pretty intense."
"Yeah, you could say that," Isaac chuckled nervously, "I wasn't sure I should believe that he could really help me, but he seems pretty legit. He gave me some time to think about it before I made a final decision. What do you think I should do? I mean, what would you do if you were me?"
"Well, it all just seems strange that all of a sudden, someone is willing to help you learn to defend yourself after barely meeting them," Delilah said, "I mean, do you trust what this guy says?"
"I think I do," Isaac said after a few moments of silence, "I know it seems sudden and even a little suspicious, but it all sounds too good to pass up. What if this is the only chance I have to make a change in my life? I just… I don't wanna be that stupid and pathetic loser everyone sees me as anymore. I wanna be stronger and braver. I wanna be somebody…"
Delilah frowned when she saw how Isaac's own words affected him. It always upset her to hear him talk so badly about himself. Especially when she valued Isaac so much. Reaching up, Delilah tenderly stroked his black eye.
"Isaac, you know that you are not stupid, pathetic, or a loser. I think that you are the most incredible person I've ever known. But, if you believe that this guy can help you, then who am I to stand in the way of you getting help? I just hope that you know what you're doing."
Nodding his head, Isaac pressed his lips against hers. "I do. I promise that I know what I'm doing and that I won't let you down."
And that's what solidified Isaac's decision to become a werewolf.
Later that night, Isaac was walking down the steps of the abandoned subway station in Beacon Hills, which was the address on the paper Derek gave him. It was a random location, almost a little eerie. It actually fit him quite well. When Isaac got to the bottom of the steps, he saw the werewolf emerging from one of the old and rusty subway cars. Derek immediately noticed the boy.
"I'm guessing you made your decision?" Derek asked, walking over to Isaac.
Said boy nodded his head. "I want it. I want the bite. I wanna be like you and be able to protect my girlfriend from anything that is a danger to her."
"Roll up your sleeve," Derek immediately ordered. Isaac did what he was told then Derek took ahold of his wrist. He glanced down at it before looking back up at Isaac. "This is your last chance to change your mind. The bite either turns you or kills you. And if you do live, there's no going back to your normal life."
"I know," Isaac said, "But I have to do this. For myself and for Delilah."
Derek nodded and brought Isaac's wrist up to his mouth. He bared his sharp fangs. "This is going to hurt."
With that being said, Derek sunk his fangs into Isaac's skin. The teenager grit his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut at the blinding pain. Isaac was expecting it to hurt, but not to the point where he started screaming. It was almost like being set on fire. Every punishment he had received from his father was nothing compared to this. But at the same time, it filled him with adrenaline that he had only experience once when he had sex with Delilah.
Her face was the last image in his head before passing out on the cold hard floor.
When Isaac woke up the next morning, his head was slightly pounding from when he hit his head on the floor at the subway station. He rubbed his forehead with his fingertips as he looked over at his alarm clock. It was a half hour earlier than he usually would have woken up. But once Isaac was awake, he couldn't fall back asleep. So he just lied down on his back and stared up at his ceiling. That was when he realized that he was in his bed. Isaac didn't even remember coming home after passing out from the pain of the bite.
His eyes then widened as every memory from last night came flooding back.
Suddenly, Isaac jumped out of the bed and ran into his bathroom. He was taken aback when he stared at his reflection in the mirror. Every scar, bruise, hints of acne, and even his black eye were gone, almost like they were never even there in the first place. Isaac pulled his shirt off to see that every imperfection on his chest and stomach had also vanished. His usually pale skin was now vibrant and had more color to it, like he had spent more time out in the sun. And his eyes… they looked so bright and full of life. It was like he was staring at a brand new person.
"Well, I'll be damned," Isaac chuckled to himself.
Feeling much more energized, he took a quick shower and threw on the first set of clothes he could find. He clumsily threw on shoes and socks, grabbed his backpack, and ran out the door. Then he hopped on his bike and pedaled as fast as he could to the school. Now that he was a werewolf, all of his senses heightened. He could hear every single conversation and smell things that aren't the most pleasant, like strong perfume, cologne, and even hormones. Although it was a little overwhelming, Isaac couldn't be any more excited to experience such a new life.
Since he arrived at school earlier than usual, Isaac headed straight for Delilah's locker. He found her taking out a couple of textbooks before shutting it. Turning her head, Delilah immediately locked eyes with her boyfriend and smiled widely. Isaac took big and quick strides to get to her before grabbing her face and kissing her with all of the passion he had.
It took Delilah by surprise, but she was definitely not complaining, especially when Isaac added his tongue into the mix. She moaned in his mouth, making him smirk before kissing her again. When he pulled away one last time, Delilah panted with a goofy smile on her face.
"Wow," she laughed breathlessly, "Someone's in a really good mood. If you kissed me like this every morning, I actually wouldn't mind getting up early for school."
"From now on, Delilah, things are going to change for us," Isaac told her, "Things are going to be different. All for the better."
"Isaac, your black eye," Delilah gasped, "It's gone. How'd it heal so fast?"
"Must've happened overnight," Isaac quickly lied, not wanting to give any information away, "But I mean it, baby. I'm gonna do everything I can to make you the happiest girl in the world because I love you more than anything and you deserve nothing but the best."
Delilah smiled as she rubbed her thumbs along Isaac's jawline. "I love you, Isaac." She brought his head down to hers and they began to kiss again.
So Isaac is now a werewolf and Derek made his big appearance! Things are about to get crazy, folks! Especially in these next few chapters. I hope you guys enjoyed it. PLEASE review and let me know what you think! Also, if you haven't checked it out yet, I updated Awake and Alive last week so go show it some love along with No One Else, which should be updated in the next couple of days. I would truly appreciate it!
There has been something I wanted to bring up since the last time I updated. I received a review in the last chapter (I will not name names) that said something along the lines that it doesn't make sense that Isaac doesn't do anything to stop Delilah from cutting herself and that these two got together way too fast. I understand where they are coming from, but being someone that suffers from depression and bad thoughts, you can't force someone to stop hurting themselves and tell them to get better and expect them to automatically do it. You can help someone get on the right track to getting better, but emotional healing takes time. Hell, I've had depression since I was thirteen and five to six years later, I'm still having a difficult time getting better. And Isaac understands that it takes time to heal from depression and that he can't force her to stop cutting. But he'll do whatever he can to make her happy.
Also, I know that Isaac and Delilah getting together as fast as they did and falling in love so fast seems a bit ridiculous. But with the ideas I have planned for the story, it's necessary for me to have these things happen the way they did. I've said this before but I'll say it again- I don't write the things that happen in this story just for the hell of it. There is a reason for everything. I really hope that you all understand that and keep this in mind for the next few chapters because that where extremely big things happen for Isaac and especially Delilah.
I hope that I have gotten my points across, but overall, thank you guys so much for sticking with me through my crazy updates. It means everything to me! I'll definitely update soon! xoxo, Maddie :)
