This story is in correlation with my other two Teen Wolf stories, Awake and Alive and No One Else! The three intertwine with each other quite often but in different points of view, so I would recommend reading those as well so everything makes sense. I hope you enjoy!
TRIGGER WARNING: Sexual content, mentions of sexual abuse, abuse, and gun violence
Waking up was an absolute bitch. Isaac wanted to shut his eyes as soon as he opened them to make his head stop pounding. It was dark except for the faint red lights blinking on the alarm clock on the nightstand next to him. 2:27 in the morning. He groaned knowing that getting up for school the next morning was going to be such a nightmare. With everything going on with the kanima and such, school should be the least of Isaac's worries right now.
A small moan came from the left of him. He looked over to see Delilah wincing as she turned towards him. Her eyes may have been still shut but Isaac knew she was starting to wake up. When he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, Delilah slightly nuzzled her cheek in his hand.
"How are you feeling?" he asked her softly.
"Like I just got tased by the deputy's daughter," Delilah groaned.
"Yeah, I'm not feeling too hot either."
Isaac slowly got out of bed and opened the door. He looked up and down the hall. No Anabelle. Interesting. Maybe she had left to go on a run or something.
"I guess it's just you and me here," Isaac said as he closed the door.
"If it wasn't for the fact that we had already missed too many days of school, I'd say we play hooky," Delilah said.
"Wow, you really have turned into a rebel." Isaac chuckled as he laid back on the bed.
Delilah then remembered the confrontation she had with her alpha earlier and covered her face with her hands. "Oh god, I was such a brat to Derek earlier."
"Yeah, that was pretty bad."
She gave her boyfriend a deadpanned expression. "Thanks."
"Look, I'm sure he'll get over it," Isaac assured her, "He knows this is a difficult transition for you. But he can also see that you're trying."
"I just… I wanna do the right thing, but with the kanima and Lydia… it's like I can't tell what the right thing is."
"I know. But we're trying to be the good guys."
"Even though our appearance literally says quite the opposite." Delilah gestured down to her corset.
Chuckling, Isaac asked, "Can you even move in that thing?"
"Honestly, my entire torso is just numb at this point. Can you actually help me out of this? I'm surprised it hasn't burst open yet."
He didn't respond verbally, but Isaac sat on the edge of the bed as Delilah stood up and turned her back towards him. One lace at a time, he untied the back of her corset slowly. When she turned back around, Isaac took the article and clothing and tossed it on the bed. He took a good view of the girl standing before him, only in her jeans and boots. This girl was a fucking dream. Just when he thought she couldn't be any more gorgeous, he was always proven wrong. He would never be able to resist her no matter what time of day.
Placing one hand on the curve of her back, Isaac pushed Delilah closer to him so she was standing between his legs. She grabbed his face gently and brought their lips together. As they kissed, Isaac was unbuttoning her jeans and pulling down the zipper. It wasn't long before he grabbed Delilah by the waist and brought her on the bed so she was laying on her back. He made his way to the foot of the bed and started to slip off his jacket, not breaking eye contact with her the entire time. The way the brunette laid back against the pillows with her fingers running through her hair and knees bent was doing something to Isaac that he knew he had to be really careful not to go too animalistic on her.
Delilah decided her love was being too slow so she crawled to where he was and helped him pull his black t-shirt over his head. But he laid her back down afterwards so he could pull off her boots and jeans. Isaac debated on whether he should tease her or not but then decided against it as he didn't think he was going to be able to wait that long either. So he pulled down her lacy panties (the one thing Erica did that was helpful to their relationship was buy Delilah some new lingerie) down her smooth and soft legs and tossed them to the side. Hovering above her, Isaac placed kisses all the way from her lips down her torso just until he was right above her private area. He gently spread her legs open and she shivered as the cool air hit her wet spot.
Breathy moans escaped her lips when Isaac began peppering even more kisses on her inner thighs. Delilah thought back to the night they had slept together for the first time when she had just learned about Isaac being bitten. She remembered how much he had to restrain his shift when he was inside her and now she understood his struggle. Werewolves really were hypersensitive she learned as Isaac began lick up and down her slit and she ran her tongue over her growing fangs. Delilah tangled her fingers in his curly blonde locks and she was so close to digging her claws in his scalp when he sucked on her clit. How the hell were werewolves supposed to do contain themselves in positions like this? It was damn near impossible!
"Ohh… Isaac…"
Suddenly like light switch, something had flipped in the pit of her stomach. She was starting to feel funny, but not in a good way like Isaac usually succeeded in making her feel. No, Delilah could feel her breaths getting shorter like someone had pulled a plastic bag over her head. Her legs started to squirm but Isaac seemed to grip even tighter on her thighs so she couldn't escape. She squeezed her eyes shut and it caused the unshed tears to burn her eyes.
"Isaac," she breathed out shakily, "Isaac, please."
But said boy took this as she was enjoying what he was doing and he just kept going. Delilah finally opened her eyes so she could stop Isaac but when she did, she had lost her voice as she looked at the man in between her legs.
The hair was no longer the mop of golden curls that she loved. Instead it was black and spiked with too much product. When he looked up at her, the sweet face was replaced by one that was older and eviler. It was the face that had been haunting her ever since she was little girl. He grinned devilishly and Delilah screamed.
"Get away from me!"
She kicked his chest with so much force that his body actually broke a hole into the wall. Her breathing became steadier and her werewolf form started to retract. Reality kicked in when Isaac groaned in pain and grabbed the back of his head. Delilah's eyes widened in horror.
"Oh my god." She jumped out of the bed and scurried over to her boyfriend. "Isaac, I am so sorry! Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay," Isaac tried to assure her as he winced, "Damn, being a dancer sure has its advantages when it comes to self defense, doesn't it?"
His girlfriend wasn't laughing. "This isn't funny. I could've seriously hurt you. I'm so sorry…"
"Baby, it's okay! It was an accident." Isaac rested his hand on her cheek. "I should be the one apologizing. I should've stopped when you told me to."
Shaking her head, Delilah told him, "It's not your fault. I just… I thought I could-"
"I know. But we both should've realized that it was way too soon for us to do anything yet. You need to heal… we both do. We'll even do counseling if that's what you want. Whatever it is that you need… we'll do it together."
Tears were flowing out and Isaac was able to catch every one of them. Delilah wrapped her arms around his neck as she cried in silence.
"He was right… he did ruin me… I'm sorry…"
"No," Isaac said sternly, running his hand over her soft brown hair, "you have nothing to apologize for. I'm sorry that you're scared and in pain. Trust me, Lawrence is going to get what he deserves one way or another. You'll get your justice, Delilah. I'll make sure of it."
He kissed the top of her head as her crying finally died down. When they pulled away from each other Isaac still had his hands on her face. Delilah could tell that he wanted to say something else but he kept stopping himself before he could. "What is it?"
"I- I don't want you to freak out… but when you kicked me, I swear I saw your eyes change colors. Multiple colors."
Oh, no. Delilah jumped up and ran into the bathroom. She flicked on the lights so she could get a better look at her face in the mirror. Of course her eyes were her normal green now, but it didn't ease her mind knowing that she was having some sort of malfunction again.
"Delilah, is everything ok?" Isaac asked as he watched his love check herself out.
"I- I don't know," Delilah answered honestly, "The same thing happened at Scott's house. Allison pointed it out. I don't know what it means."
"Maybe Derek will know. Tomorrow after school we can ask him."
With one last tear trailing down her face, Delilah looked at Isaac in the mirror. "What's wrong with me?"
"Nothing. I'm sure everything is just fine. Whatever it is, we'll figure it out. Together."
The next day seemed to carry on like normal. Delilah was having much more control of her shift and didn't have anymore mishaps so far at school. All she had to do was just get through the last couple classes of the day after lunch and she was golden.
Speaking of lunch, Delilah and Erica were currently sitting across from each other in the cafeteria. The brunette was actually eating her sandwich while Erica was making googling eyes at any boy that crossed her path. There was even one time where she had winked at one boy and he slipped on a puddle of spilled milk and fell on his butt. While it was entertaining to watch, Erica seemed to be enjoying this a little too much.
"Have you actually considered asking any of these guys out on a date?" Delilah asked.
"Eh," Erica shrugged, "Don't get me wrong, I love the attention-"
"Oh I've noticed," Delilah teased.
Her best friend deadpanned. "As I was saying, none of these guys are really my type."
"What do you mean? There are some cute ones!" Delilah pointed to a boy in a baseball uniform. "What about him? He's a baseball player, and you know baseball players have nice butts."
"I'm sure Isaac would love hearing you say that."
"Oh he already knows his butt is my favorite."
Hearing Delilah gush over her boyfriend's body parts made her shudder. "Gross. But nah, he's too skinny."
"I guess that means your over Stiles then."
"Yeah, I mean, there might always be a little bit of feelings for him there, but I think I want a guy who's a little more mysterious. You know, the tall, dark, and handsome type. Someone who's not going to break his back when he tries to lift me up."
Speaking of tall, dark, and handsome- Isaac entered the cafeteria with Boyd in tow. The corner of Delilah's mouth irked up in a sneaky smile as she remembered learning about Boyd's little crush on Erica just about a week ago. It was time she played matchmaker and she couldn't wait!
"Excuse me for just a moment."
Delilah quickly got up walked to her fellow male betas. She smiled up at the two, almost straining her neck since they were about a foot taller then her. Maybe she should invest into taller boots.
"Hey guys," she greeted perkily, "Boyd, Erica and I are at that table over there if you wanna go sit with her. Isaac and I will be right there."
Shrugging his shoulders, Boyd said, "Sure thing," and walked over to their table.
"Okay, how much coffee have you had today?" Isaac asked his girlfriend who was practically bouncing on her heels.
"Only one." Isaac raised an eyebrow and Delilah rolled her eyes. "Okay, it might have been a venti, but that doesn't have to do with anything."
"So why are you acting like you have a master plan to take over the world?"
"It may not be to take over the world, but I do have a plan." Delilah poked her boyfriend's chest. "You're gonna help me get Erica and Boyd together."
Immediately Isaac was shaking his head. "Alright, I'm out of here."
"Oh come on!" The brunette grabbed his arm, "It would be great! He likes her and he's her type. We could even double date!"
"Baby, do I look like Cupid? I'm lucky enough that I'm with you- I don't think I'm qualified to set people up on dates."
"If you help me it'll get Erica off our backs." Delilah rested her chin on his chest. "Please? For me?"
Isaac grumbled as he stared down into his girlfriend's puppy dog eyes. "It's a good thing you're cute."
"Thank you."
After giving him a kiss, Delilah took Isaac's hand and sat down across from Erica and Boyd as they were already making small conversation. Delilah nudged her boyfriend and shot him a knowing wink, making him roll his eyes but he wrapped his arm around her shoulders anyway.
"So," Delilah spoke up, "I think the four of us should hang out more."
"What do you mean?" Erica asked, "We always hang out with each other after school when we're at the subway station or chasing the kanima."
"Yeah, and we're hanging out right now," Boyd pointed out.
"But that's training," Delilah waved her hand, "I mean hanging out outside of school and our supernatural stuff."
"And do what?" Boyd asked.
"Anything we want! There's bowling, ice skating, amusement park, or even that underground rave that's coming up in a few days!"
"Of course the dancer wants to go to a rave," Erica teased.
Delilah threw a baby carrot at her best friend, making her laugh. "Oh, it'll be fun!"
"You know some of us don't dance, right?" Boyd asked.
"It's easy- you just gotta let the music take over you and let your body do the rest." Delilah wiggled in her seat, excited from just thinking about it. "Also, Isaac here can teach you a few moves."
"Oh, don't do this to me," said boy moaned in embarrassment, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"No, come on, Isaac," Erica laughed, "Show us your dancing skills!"
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Isaac snapped, cheeks turning red.
"Yes you do, baby," Delilah played along, "Remember shaking your butt with me at winter formal? You were a natural!"
"Delilah, I love you, but you are not helping!"
Even Boyd was laughing at this point, which Delilah considered to be a great success. Isaac may have been blushing super hard but he knew that it was all in good fun and that he was actually enjoying himself with his new friends. It gave Delilah a sense of joy and warmth that these four lonely strangers could come together and actually become somewhat of friends.
It was incredible how much two months could change everything. Just then, Delilah would have been sitting with her old crowd, sitting off to the side quietly as they all gossiped about who was hot or not and making fun of those like who was surrounding her now. She had never felt like she could really be herself until she had joined the pack. And even though she could feel her old friends just a few tables over glare at the back of her head, Delilah really could care less. For once, she was content with where she was. She beamed from true happiness as she laughed along with pack and Isaac kissed her cheek.
There was a substitute in Delilah's last class of the day. It just so happened to be Mrs. Argent- Allison's mother. It started to unsettle her and she could even feel Scott and Allison's nerves, who were sitting a couple rows behind her. Delilah wasn't sure if Mrs. Argent knew about her, even though she most likely didn't. It still didn't ease the tension in her body.
She could sense Scott glancing over at her, so she looked at him. He saw that she was clearly nervous but he just nodded his head at her just to let her know that she was okay and to just play it cool. Delilah just took a few deep breaths, made sure her shift was in control, and just focused on the board in front of her.
If only Isaac were here to make things easier because little did she know that the huntress's mother was the least of her worries.
About twenty minutes of the class had gone by before there was a knock on the door. Mrs. Argent went to answer and it ended up being Deputy Henderson. They exchanged a few words as the class murmured to each other about what could possibly be going on.
"Delilah Lambert," Deputy Henderson said, making the brunette snap her head up, "If you could please gather your belongings and come with me."
'Oooh's' were coming from her peers as Delilah packed her books and supplies in her bag. When she made her way towards the door, she glanced once more at Scott and Allison, who just looked back at her in confusion. All Delilah could do was shrug before following the deputy.
Deputy Henderson led the girl into the principal's office and she dropped her bag at the sight of who was standing next to Principal Argent.
"Lawrence."
The same numbness she had felt the night of her rape was suddenly flooding her body. She hadn't seen her stepfather since that night and she had dreaded the reunion. All of a sudden her voice was gone and she had become speechless. As much as she wanted to run, her feet were practically nailed to the floor. She was trapped.
"Miss Lambert," Deputy Henderson spoke up, "Your stepfather had called the police department this morning and informed us that you have not been home in almost a week. Is that true?"
"Well…" Delilah stuttered, "I-I mean, yes. But you see-"
"Your mother and I have been worried sick about you, Delilah," Lawrence scolded with a fake parental tone that made her want to roll her eyes, "Your phone's off so we can't call you and make sure you're okay, you don't leave a note, nothing. We thought you had been kidnapped. Or worse, dead."
Bullshit. "I was just over at a friend's house…" Delilah said quietly.
"Running away from home is a serious issue, Miss Lambert," Deputy Henderson said, "It could come with major consequences."
"Fortunately for you, we are aware of your academic achievements and participation of extracurricular activities here at the school," Principal Argent spoke up, "You are not in trouble with us. However, you will need to be under surveillance to make sure you are attending all of your classes every day and if needed you will need an escort."
"You will also be dropped off and picked up by either your mother or stepfather everyday, starting today," Deputy Henderson continued.
"What about my car?" Delilah asked.
"Your mother and I will come get your car later," Lawrence told her, "From now on, you no longer will be able to have access to yours or anyone else's car." He held out his hand for Delilah's keys.
Scoffing, the girl said, "I'm sorry, are you serious? All of this because I stayed with a friend for a few days?"
"This is just for your own protection, Delilah," Principal Argent assured her, "There are dangerous people out there. We're just thinking of your safety."
There was something about the way he was eyeing Delilah that made her feel very fidgety, almost like he knew something about her. He was an Argent after all, so maybe they did know that she was one of Derek's pack.
Lawrence still had his hand out towards her, giving her a knowing glare that told her to do as he said or else. Even though Delilah knew she was going to get 'or else' either way, she dug her keys out of her bag an hastily dropped them in Lawrence's hand.
"And one more thing," he said as he turned towards the other two men, "It has come to my attention that Isaac Lahey has returned to school."
"He just came back yesterday," Principal Argent nodded.
"I want you to make sure he isn't anywhere near Delilah. I don't care if you have to switch any of their classes. She's not allowed to have any sort of contact with him. Are we clear on that, Delilah?"
She looked deep into Lawrence's almost black eyes, gazing at the pure evil that lied within. A million different emotions were running through her- fear, anger, vengeful, more than Delilah was not sure she could handle. But she didn't let her voice waiver as she answered.
"Crystal."
With a curt nod, Lawrence walked out of the office, instructing Delilah to follow him. She gave one last glance to the principal and deputy, the latter giving her an almost sad and puzzled look, and left with her stepfather.
The final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. Isaac walked out of his French class to go meet with his girlfriend at her locker just like they had planned. But when he got to her locker, she wasn't there, which was strange because her last class was right next to it.
Maybe she had went to her car. So he went outside. While her car was out in the student parking lot, again Delilah wasn't there. Now Isaac was starting to get nervous. He began searching everywhere among the school from the lacrosse field to the dance room to the girls' locker room to all of her classes and now back to her locker. Still no sign of her. He tried to get ahold of her cinnamon scent but it was nowhere to be found.
Then he saw Trenton walking with his buddies. He was in Delilah's last class, he had to know where she went. "Trenton!"
The jock groaned when he saw Isaac. "Oh great. What do you want, Grave Digger?"
"Where's Delilah?"
"I don't know," Trenton answered.
"You were just in class with her."
"So? It's not my responsibility to keep track of your girlfriend, Lahey. So maybe instead-"
The next thing Trenton knew, he was being pressed against the lockers by Isaac's forearm. None of the athletes were expecting him to have the strength he did. They didn't even dare to try pulling him off, especially with the way he was glaring at their friend and huffing and puffing.
"All of my life, I have let you clowns push me around and I am done," Isaac seethed, "I know it's difficult for that useless brain of yours to comprehend that she actually loves someone like me over you. But she does and you can't change that. And maybe your massive egos should stop compensating for the balls you guys don't have and get over yourselves. So I'm going to ask you this one last time- where is Delilah?"
"Dude I'm telling you the truth!" Trenton exclaimed, "All I know was that the police had her leave class early and then I saw her leave with her stepdad."
That was all Isaac needed to know. Fuck!
He yanked his arm away from Trenton's throat and stormed away, leaving the jocks confused. When Isaac exited the building, he saw Erica standing by Delilah's car.
"Tell Derek Delilah and I are going to be late," Isaac told her, continuing to walk.
"What's going on?" Erica asked worriedly as she followed him.
"Lawrence took her out of school early. He's taking her back to the house."
"Let me come with you," the blonde begged.
"No!"
Isaac stopped and spun around. He could feel his eyes flashing but he was fuming so bad that he did not pay any attention to them.
"There can't be too many of us there," he explained, "If we all shift in front of him, he's going to use that to his advantage and have us all locked up. This is something I've needed to do for a long time. Now go." He didn't wait for Erica to answer before he took off running as fast as he could.
Delilah could feel her hands start to shake as she waited for Lawrence to unlock the door. Her mother's car wasn't in the driveway so she wasn't hope. Not like it would have stopped Lawrence from punishing Delilah anyway. He let her walk in first and he locked the door behind him. And just like she anticipated, he pushed her harshly up against the wall.
"Where the fuck have you been!" he spat in Delilah's face as he grabbed the front of her shirt.
"I already told you!" Delilah cried out, "I was with my friend!"
"Stop lying to me!" Lawrence shouted, "I know you were with your precious Isaac. But mark my words, Delilah- you will never see that boy again!"
"You can't keep me away from him!"
Letting out a deep and sinister laugh, he pulled his gun out of his back pocket. "I'm pretty sure I can."
Without thinking twice, Delilah knocked the gun out of her stepfather's hand. This only angered the man even more and he threw her on the dinner table. She landed on the vase and she winced when she felt broken glass dig into her back. Lawrence grabbed her by the through and pinned her back on the table when she tried to get up.
He laughed again. "Oh, now you think you've got some fight in you. I think you seem to forget that I'm ten times stronger than you."
"You'll never be stronger than me," Delilah choked out, "You're just a fucking creep that likes to prey on young girls. There's nothing strong about a man who picks on those smaller than him."
"I beg to differ," Lawrence growled, "If you want, I can remind you just how much power I have over you." Keeping one hand on her neck, he used the other to undo his belt buckle. "And since you like running that pretty mouth of yours now, let's see you put it to good use."
Delilah didn't even realize when her claws came out, but when she swung her arm, she had swiped Lawrence's face. Perfect lines were etched on his cheek and had started to bleed out. He touched the wound and stared at the blood that was on his fingertips. Steam might as well be blowing out of his ears, he became so furious.
But just as he was about strike at Delilah's face, they both heard glass shattering upstairs. Delilah used this opportunity that Lawrence was distracted to kick his face and run upstairs. The man yelled as he held his now broken nose.
"Delilah Lambert, you better get your ass back here now!"
As soon as she was up in her room, she locked the door and pushed her vanity in front of it for extra blockage. Her green eyes widened when she turned around. The window was broken and Isaac was grabbing clothes from her dresser and shoving them into her dance bag.
"Isaac, what are you doing here?" she whispered harshly.
"I'm getting you out of this house for good," he told her, not breaking focus, "something I should've done a long time ago."
"He's going to see you!" Delilah exclaimed, "You have to get out of here!"
"No. I'm not going to let you be his rag doll anymore and I'm not leaving here without you."
"Isaac, please-"
A loud bang on the outside of her door made her jump. "Open this fucking door right now, Delilah!"
"Run," Isaac told her, "I'll handle him."
"You don't understand," Delilah begged, "He has a gun. If he shoots you-"
"Then I'll heal. But I'd rather it be me then you."
Tears began to pour out as she continued to plead her boyfriend to leave. "Isaac, please don't do this. If anything happens to you I don't know what I would do."
"Delilah, this can't go on any longer," Isaac said as he grabbed her face, "I'm not going to keep standing by and watch you take this abuse any longer. And I know you said I can't always be the hero, but I will die trying if it meant getting you out of here safe."
Just as she opened her mouth to refuse, the door was kicked open, sending the vanity flying and almost hitting the young couple. Isaac pushed Delilah behind him as Lawrence stood in front of them, gun pointed at them and breathing heavily. Blood ran down his now crooked nose.
"Nice to see you again, Isaac," he snarled, "It's a pleasure I could be here for your final moments together. Say hello to your father for me, okay, kid?"
He went to pull the trigger but Isaac tackled him down to the floor. The werewolf was able to gain the upper hand and throw a few punches at Lawrence's face. Isaac was able to grab the gun and toss it to the side before holding the man in a chokehold. His fangs grew and his eyes turned yellow when he looked up at his love.
"Delilah, run! Now!"
But then Lawrence elbowed Isaac in the chest, making the boy loosen his grip. The man quickly reached for the gun, aimed, and shot Isaac in the shoulder. He collapsed onto the floor and groaned. Delilah's heartbeat tripled as she watched him bleed out.
"Isaac!"
She tried to get to him but Lawrence stood up and pointed the gun back at Isaac. "Make one more move and I'll shoot him right in the heart."
Raising her hands up in defense, Delilah said, "If you're gonna kill one of us, then take me."
Isaac's eyes widened. "Delilah-"
"No, Isaac. You were right. I'm tired of waking up every day in fear of what you would do to me next. I thought things couldn't possibly get any worse but you proved me wrong when you defiled me that night. You stole a part of me that I don't know I could ever get back. But I'm done being afraid of you. And I'm done with you making me feel I'm weak and worthless. I'm capable of being so much more than you will ever be. So if you wanna kill me, I'd probably be better off dead anyway. But that will never change the fact that you are a lowlife son of a bitch that will end up in jail at some point. Then you'll be surrounded by bigger and badder criminals who'll make you feel the pain you made me feel."
Lawrence laughed. "Wow. That's some speech, Delilah. Who knew you had it in you?" Then he pointed the gun at his stepdaughter. "But we both now I'll always win."
"No!"
When the sound of the gunshot rang through the air, Delilah squeezed her eyes shut and held her breath. Everyone was anticipating the moment the bullet would hit the girl and finally end her life.
That moment never came.
So when Delilah finally opened her eyes, she was absolutely gobsmacked at the stunned look on Lawrence's face. The gun fell out of his hands. Suddenly he dropped down to his knees and fell sideways. Delilah couldn't take her eyes off the bullet wound that was now lodged in his back. The blood stain rapidly grew on his white shirt, resembling paint on a blank canvas. She looked up and she could not believe what she was seeing.
Underneath the doorway stood Gloria. Her hands were trembling badly as she lowered her own gun. There were so many conflicting thoughts going through Delilah's mind as she and Gloria looked at each other. A part of the girl wanted to run into her mother's arms and thank her for saving her life and finally ending the torture Lawrence endured for years. But she also knew it was a little too late for reconciliation.
Groaning broke Delilah out of her internal battle and she scurried over to Isaac, who was clutching his shoulder. "Oh god, Isaac, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I should be fine," Isaac winced, "It's just taking a little longer to heal than normal."
"Maybe because the bullet's still in your shoulder. Here, let me try to get it out." Delilah extracted her claws and dug into the wound, making Isaac roar out. "Sorry! Sorry!"
She finally got the bullet out, but nothing still was happening. "It's still not healing."
"I think I remember hearing Derek say that bullets that are laced with something take a little longer. I think we should try call-"
What the couple saw next instantly made her shut up. Purple veins were running down from Delilah's shoulder to her hand that was placed over Isaac's wound. The wound glowed that same purple for just a few seconds before closing up. It was almost as if he had never been shot.
Isaac was about to ask what had just happened but stopped himself when he looked deep into her eyes. They were no longer flashing colors anymore. They have seemed to decided what they wanted to be when Delilah shifted. But it wasn't the golden-yellow color Isaac was expecting like the rest of the betas.
Violet.
