With a groan the brunette pushed her sunglasses further up her nose, cursing the bright sun that shone down on them. Already it had been a week on the island and she still wasn't used to the bright light, being used to the big city of New York. Besides, the hangover from the night before didn't really help, either.
Heavy breaths sounding in her ears, Warmth spreading all over her body from the hands caressing her skin despite the soft breeze blowing through the curtains.
"I thought you were going home early? It's a school day, today" her colleague inquired with a smirk, putting a large plate of Kamekona's Shrimp Special. "Here, it's good for a bad hangover."
Karen had a feeling that not just her hangover would be cured in a minute, her stomach heaving with the smell of fish. She'd never drink so much after the night before. "Why do you have to be so cheerful, especially on a day, you have to work with parents that couldn't care less about their kids being little shits?"
Laughing softly Ally sat down next to the new Hawaiian resident and bumped their shoulders. "You're one to talk, Karen. You're working with teenagers."
"At least they know how to behave, the parents not so much." She grumbled, taking a sip of the water her co-worker brought her, feeling the queasiness in her stomach subside for a moment.
Lips laying kisses over her skin, leaving a hot trail behind, the scruff on his chin lightly scratching her on his way down. Her fingers raking over his head when he found her pearl.
Swallowing the first shrimp, Ally grinned. "So, what have you been up to last night? Must have been quite a party for you to be like that."
"I-I met a guy last night." She started, leaning her elbow onto the table to support her hurting head. "He bought me a drink and we danced, had some fun and"
"And you ended up in your bed at the hotel?" The blonde inquired, popping another shrimp into her mouth with a bright smile. "How was it?"
A deep moan left her lips as she felt lips attaching themselves to her neck. Hands wandering over hard muscles underneath soft skin. Two sweaty bodies moving against each other. Back and forth, they moved on the mattress and Karen couldn't care less how loud she screamed his name, feeling the pressure building inside
Shrugging her shoulders, the brunette shook her head. "I don't know, everything is a bit hazy and this morning he was gone."
"Well, this ain't such a big island, the possibility of seeing him again is quite high. Besides, you wanted to get away from your cheating fiancé and your ex-best friend" Ally patted her back with her free hand while she licked away the delicious sauce from the other, eliciting another groan from her friend.
Grimacing at the sight in front of her, Karen shook her head. "Ally, how can you eat this at 10am and be so chipper after a night of drinking when I feel like a MAC truck hit me and I might throw up any moment?"
"Oh hun, I told you," she started, grinning at the haole, "it's the best cure for a hangover on this island."
Defeated, the brunette nodded her head with a final groan. It was going to be a long day and it wasn't even half done yet.
"So, you were out pretty late last night." Danny started, watching the scenery fly by on the way to their next case.
Steve raised his eyebrow, a question reflected in his gaze. "And how would you know about my bedtime? Last time I looked I was still an adult."
"Last time I looked, the only adult around was me." The blonde told his partner, pointing at himself while the Lt. Commander grinned at him. "You forgot your wallet in my car, so I wanted to give it back, but when I got back to your house you still weren't home."
Clearing his throat, Steve shifted in his seat. "I was still at the bar and met someone."
"Y-You met someone? As in someone getting you intel or is there a new romance I don't know about?"
Danny wasn't too happy after Catherine left his partner stranded, even after he told her he loved her and he was tired of Steve moping around like a teenager who's crush let him down. He already had enough of that with Gracey.
Shaking his head, Steve turned to the blonde detective, knowing exactly what he was asking. "There's nothing going on, I had a nice night with a nice woman and that's it."
"That's it." Danny copied him, repeating the question one more time. "That's it?! Don't make it sound so casual. Your girlfriend just broke up with you on the phone and you go out and get your rocks off?"
Holding his hand up to stop his partner's rant. "Now wait just a second, I'm not getting my rocks off. It was a one time thing, she probably was a tourist anyway, so I'm not goin' to see her after last night."
Gaping at him, Danny couldn't help the corner of his mouth lift a fraction. "Was it a good night at least?"
He felt the heat of her gace raking over his body, making his skin tingle in a good way. Steve leaned down with a smile gracing his lips as he sealed his own over hers, moaning softly when her fingers ran through his hair, lightly scratching along his head.
Karen, or at least that's what she told him her name was, pushed herself against him. Her lower body grinding into his, as he pulled her legs around his waist. Steve made sure she felt his hardness, the evidence of what she had done to him before he laid her out on the mattress.
This was what he needed after Cath left him to find Najib and fight the rest of the Taliban. He wanted to feel something, anything and if a night with this woman was going to achieve that, he'd gladly take it.
"Good?" Steve asked with a smirk. "It was great."
Danny returned his grin before he raised his hand to tightly grip the door handle, Steve stepping on the gas following behind the perp that showed up on the street.
