Dreams Do Come True – A Sonic the Hedgehog Romance Fanfiction

Keep in mind that in this fanfiction, only the following events are canon: Sonic 1, Sonic Before The Sequel, Sonic Before The Sequel Aftermath, Sonic 2, Sonic After The Sequel, Sonic 3&K, Sonic Chrono Adventure and Sonic CD. As well as a few custom locations made by me :)
Though, places from other games, fan games and roms might be mentioned but the events of said games not considered canon.
This is supposed to be just a small portion of a story I want to tell in the future and may be rewritten because of it. Also, I want to test out my writing skills, so please comment and give me feedback, it helps out a lot! (v)

Chapter 0 – Small Intro
.
Home sweet home, Planet Earth. A place full of vibrant, green forests and shooting, blue oceans. A planet as cool and blue as a certain hedgehog. Someone who might call themselves "The Fastest Thing Alive".
Welcome to South Island, home to everything from beautiful valleys teeming with life to massive urban cities with people from all over the world. And it's here on this tropical isle that we find a heroic little hedgehog, just chatting and, deep down, wanting to experience more adventures and have more thrill in his life. And he would get a brand-new adventure, just not one he would expect…

"I can still remember it as if it happened yesterday." Said the Speedy, Blue Hero, Sonic.
"Yeah, the thrill and horror of going from island to island, kicking Eggman's butt!" Said his Lovable, Young Sidekick and Best Friend, Miles "Tails" Prower.
"Miles?" Suddenly shouted a woman downstairs.
"Oh no" Simply said Tails.
"You know it's bad when she calls you by your real name." Said Sonic. "Good luck, Little Buddy." He said as he patted his best friend on the back.

Tails went downstairs to check what his mother had called him for, and now Sonic was left alone. Looking around his room, he saw multiple sketches and drawings of machines he couldn't quite understand and laying on the floor and his desk were multiple gadgets varying in size and "usefulness". Oh, and the room smelled of oil. That's probably why his windows were always open and why he had so many blankets.
Then, from the corner of his eye. He saw a photo Tails took of them standing in Horizon Heights, watching the blue, vast sea.
"Oh, the memories…" Said Sonic as he approached the frame standing on the edge of Tails' wooden desk. "I can still remember it" He said.
"The first time we met on the edge of Fortress Flow. That moment changed my life." Said Sonic with a little nostalgia in his voice.
"I saw a little, naïve, yet passionate kid, who followed me this far. I had to rescue him and bring him back to safety. However, I panicked and jumped in the water, in my worst nightmare." Now Sonic was laying on Tails' bed holding the frame in his left hand.
"We travelled all the way up to the edge of space and then back to Emerald Hill to retry again." He then stopped and had a moment of realisation. "He saved my life." He said incredulously. After a short pause, he continued. "I guess he wanted to repay me for trying to save him back…" Said Sonic, still shocked about the revelation.

"Yeah, I was searching for you and even from your airplane, the view was amazing." Said Tails calmly as Sonic turned, surprised by his appearance.
"Oh, yeah. It was a surreal experience up there..." Said Sonic, still thinking about his prior adventure. Then he snapped out of his bubble and looked at Tails.
"Anyways, how did it go with your mom?" Said Sonic in a questioning manner.
"Yeah, fine I guess, it's just-" Said Tails before he got interrupted by a hooded figure.
"She was just asking about me, that's all." Said the Tough, yet Calm Friend, Knuckles.
"Oh, Knux! Nice to see ya!" Said Sonic excitedly.
"Yeah, glad to see both of you." Said Knuckles in a calm voice.
"Nice hoodie, by the way." Said Sonic, now looking at Knuckles' Grey Hoodie.
"Oh, thanks." Said Knuckles, a little surprised.
Then Sonic looked around.
"Hey, the gang's all here now!" Sonic said with sparkling eyes.
"Well, I would have wanted to say that if it weren't for…" Knuckles said sheepishly while putting a hand behind his head.
"I am part of the team!" Said the Almost-Always Bubbly and Brightly Coloured, Amy Rose.
"Oh, Amy…" Said Sonic, unenthusiastically. "Glad to have you…"
"What did you say?" Said Amy in a passive-aggressive tone as she started pulling out her hammer.
"Oh, nothing!" Said Sonic, waving his arms in self-defence.
"That's what I though" Responded Amy, still somewhat angry.
"Well, now that we're all here, why don't we play a game?" Tails said.
"Yeah" Everyone responded in agreement.

After a long evening spent chatting, playing video games and then arguing with each other, they all returned to their respective homes, just as the sun was setting.
And with that, the end of another seemingly normal Friday Evening. Or so everyone though, but the next day they would soon realise that what would happen, would change their life forever.

Sorry if you didn't understand a lot, especially half-way through. That scene was from the game Sonic Before The Sequel, which I really recommend you should play!
