Moans filled the room. It was warm and not just because of the weather. Both of their bodies were slick and sticky but neither of them cared. All they cared about was making each other feel good. And by the way she threw her head back and he groaned into her neck, they were succeeding in doing just that.

Threading her fingers into his hair, Delilah whimpered as her love pounded into her as deep as as he could go. Isaac sucked at the nape of her neck, trying to give her a hickey. Even though there was no point since it would heal right away. That was one thing Isaac missed about being human- marking his girl so everyone knew that she was his and his only. Not that they already didn't. Most people would never understand how the hell he managed get a girl like her. But he did. Delilah was his as he was hers. He made sure to remind her of that when he hit that sweet spot that made her thighs shake when he shifted her leg over his shoulder just how she liked.

She was so close she could practically taste it. Her grip around Isaac's wrists braced her for that sweet release that was about to come. Wanting to help Delilah to get to that blissful place even faster, he kept one hand on the thigh resting on his chest as the other one reached down and rubbed her clit, almost painfully slow. It was that torturous pleasure that was enough for the hybrid to cry out as she came.

"Oh my god, Isaac!"

Hearing her scream out his name and watching her face scrunch up in ecstasy was all it took for Isaac to finish after her with a guttural groan. He continued to thrust his hips into Delilah, letting them both ride that wave out until neither of them could take anymore. After every last drop he had to spill into the condom he had on, Isaac lowered himself on his elbows so he could rest his forehead against hers. Both of their chests heaved up and down as they stared into each other's eyes and caught their breaths. Cupping his cheek, Delilah brought her love's head down even more so she could bring their lips together. Isaac lightly gripped her chin as he deepened the kiss more.

"I'm glad you're finally feeling better," he grinned cheekily when he broke the kiss.

Delilah laughed, playfully pushing him away. As she rolled over to her side, Isaac threw away the condom in the trash can next to her nightstand. Then he wrapped his arms around Delilah and kissed her cheek. She smiled.

"I feel like the answer's obvious," Isaac said, "but is it getting easier for you after… you know, everything that's happened?"

"Kinda," Delilah answered honestly, "Sometimes I still have dreams about it. More like nightmares. I feel stupid because I know he could never do anything to me like that again. Do anything to me again, really." She sighed. "But… I still can't that fear out of my head. It does get better. But it's a slow process."

"Look at me," Isaac told her.

She rolled over so she was now facing her love. He cradled her face in his hand.

"You should be proud of yourself, Delilah. You're making great progress every day. I know it's not always easy for you. And the fact that you still choose to have sex with me even though I always tell you you really don't have to is a bigger deal than you think. I see you improving, baby. And it's beautiful for me to see."

His encouraging words made Delilah's heart double in size. Just when she thought Isaac couldn't be any more perfect to her he always exceeded her expectations. There were times he referred to himself as the lucky one and she was always quick to disagree. If any one of them was lucky it was her.

"You're the reason behind my growth," Delilah told him, "You motivate me to become stronger. And you're the only one I feel comfortable to do anything with. So I have you to thank for getting me through everything. I'd be lost without you."

Isaac said nothing else. He just lowered his head and kissed the love of his life passionately yet sweetly. One of Delilah's legs wrapped around his waist as he drew her in closer. When they pulled their lips away Isaac smiled down at her.

"This is a really good look on you," he smirked.

"What? Me being naked?" Delilah laughed.

"Yeah," Isaac laughed also, "but more so you being naked while wearing just this." He took the angel wing charm and amethyst Delilah was wearing between his fingers.

"I told you I never take it off," the hybrid said, "I like feeling like I have an actual set of wings on me."

"Wings or not, you're still an angel to me."

Giggling, Delilah shook her head. "Sometimes you say the cheesiest things. But I love it. Almost as much as I love you."

"I love you too, my dancing queen," Isaac said before kissing her again. His love laughed again. "What's so funny?"

"I was just thinking. I may be part bird or angel, I still don't know. But sometimes… I feel like there's a wicked side to me."

Just before Isaac could ask what she meant, Delilah rubbed her still wet center against his member, instantly making him hard again. He bit his bottom lip when she gave him a look that was supposed to be innocent when her actions were anything but. Seeing her look at him like that was like a drug that he needed badly no matter how many times a day he got to have her like this.

One of Isaac's hands gripped onto the thigh that was resting over his waist while the other grabbed his dick and slid it back into her. Delilah let out a small moan at the sensation and held onto him as he rolled his hips slowly into her. It didn't last long though because they heard the front door open and close.

"Delilah? I'm home."

The girl's eyes widened. "Shit, it's Deaton!"

Both she and Isaac swiftly rolled out of her bed and started scrambling for their clothes. They realized they were holding each other's shirts and they tossed them to their rightful owners. As they finished throwing their clothes back on, Delilah could hear Deaton's footsteps making their way up the stairs and to her room. She started to panic but then she spotted her closet.

"Get in," she whispered to Isaac harshly, pushing him in anyway. He didn't get a chance to say anything before she closed the door. After fixing her hair that had become tousled due to having sex, Delilah opened the door to see her guardian standing right outside her door with his eyebrows arched. She smiled a little too brightly. "Deaton! Hi! How was work?"

"Work was interesting," Deaton said. He took in Delilah's nervous demeanor. "What have you been up to?"

"Oh, nothing," Delilah said, "Just…" she grabbed a random book from her shelf and held it up. "Reading."

"Huh." Deaton peered into her room. "Funny. I could've sworn I heard Isaac up here."

"We were on the phone with each other?"

But Deaton just chuckled, telling Delilah that she had been caught. "You know you don't have to lie to me, Delilah. Remember the agreement we had? Isaac is more than welcome to stay over just as long as-" he tapped on her door, "this stays open."

Smiling sheepishly, Delilah nodded. "Right. Sorry about that. I'll do better next time."

"I want you to know that you have no reason to be afraid of me," the veterinarian told her, "You don't ever have to sneak Isaac in or be uncomfortable to tell me anything. Everything is different now."

"I know. Sometimes it's still hard to remember that. But I know you're not like him. You've been really good to me over the past four months. I can't thank you enough."

"No need to. Just let me know if there is anything you need, okay?"

"I will," Delilah smiled, "Thank you."

"Of course." Deaton started to walk away but no before calling over his shoulder. "Hello, Isaac."

"Hey, Dr. Deaton," Isaac said from the closet where he was still hiding.

Delilah bursted out in laughter.

The morning after, Derek had called Isaac to tell him to bring Delilah inside the loft with him when she went to drop him off. When he explained the reasoning, the hybrid's stomach started doing flips and she thought she was going to be sick again.

Both of their memories of what happened when the young couple went to find Erica and Boyd were wiped out completely. They had no recollection of where they were, who else was there, and what happened to them. Derek needed them to remember so they could find Erica and Boyd and figure out what the alpha pack was planning. He told Isaac and Delilah the idea. Needless to say that neither of the two were happy with the idea. Which was why Isaac was now pacing back and forth in front of the large window. Delilah watched him, mentally telling herself to not throw up all over Derek and Anabelle's floor.

"Stop pacing," Delilah told her boyfriend as she sat on the table next to where Derek was reading, "You're making me nervous."

"Oh, I'm making you nervous?" Isaac said sarcastically, "Well, how do you think I feel? You know, I'm starting not to like this idea. Sounds kinda dangerous." He stopped for a moment. "You know what? I definitely don't like this idea, and I definitely don't like him."

"You'll both be fine," Anabelle assured him, "We'll be here to make sure nothing goes wrong."

"Does it have to be him?" Isaac questioned.

"He knows how to do it," Derek told him, "Anabelle and I don't. Be more dangerous if we tried doing it ourselves."

"You know Scott doesn't trust him, right?" Delilah said, fiddling with a random book, "Well… I'd personally trust Scott."

The confession his love made made Isaac feel a little funny, and not in a good way. But he'd be lying if he said that he wasn't thinking the same thing as her.

Derek looked up at the teenagers. "Do you trust me? Both of you?"

"Yeah," Isaac answered with hesitance. When the alpha looked at Delilah, she just slowly nodded. Isaac shook his head. "I still don't like him."

"No one does," Anabelle scoffed.

As if that was the cue, the door to the loft slid open, revealing Peter. Delilah was still weary of the man, especially when she remembered the very first time she encountered him. It wasn't like he gave of pedophile vibes, per se. But he was still so… off-putting. He did turn Scott and bite Lydia against their own will. Hell, the man killed his own niece just to become alpha, for crying out loud! Who the fuck would ever trust this man?

How Derek could let him help them was beyond Delilah. It didn't matter whether they were family or not. She knew that all too well.

"Boys," Peter said as he walked into the room, "and ladies. FYI, yes, coming back from the dead has left my abilities somewhat impaired, but the hearing still works. So I hope you're comfortable saying whatever it is that you're feeling straight to my face."

"We don't like you," Derek said with a straight face. He slammed his book shut and stood up. "Now shut up and help us."

Peter shrugged his shoulders. "Fair enough." He flicked out his claws. "So who's my volunteer?"

"I am," Isaac said, meekly raising his hand, "I don't know how this works but I am not letting you do this on Delilah."

"Well, isn't your boyfriend a nice guy," Peter smirked at Delilah, making her roll her eyes.

The former alpha had Isaac sitting on a chair in the middle of the room. Delilah stood anxiously against a pillar off to the side while Derek and Anabelle sat on the couch. Isaac looked as tense as his love felt as they anticipated what was about to happen.

"Relax," Peter told him, "I'll get more out of you if you're calm."

"Isaac, I really don't want you doing this," Delilah said.

"Well, if you want to take his place-"

"No." Isaac was quick to cut Peter off. He looked at Delilah and raised his hand out. "Stay there. I'd rather it be me than you." His girlfriend stepped back, not saying another word. "How do you know how to do this, again?"

"It's an ancient ritual used mostly by alphas," Peter said as he aligned his claws along the back of Isaac's neck, "since it's a skill that requires quite a bit of practice. One slip and you could paralyze someone. Or kill them."

How comforting. "You- you've had a lot of practice though, right?" Isaac stuttered.

"Well, I've never paralyzed anyone," Peter replied.

"Oh, fuck," Delilah heard Anabelle grumble under her breath. And the hybrid had to agree.

Isaac scrunched up his eyebrows. "Wait, does that mean that you-"

His sentence cut off with a grunt as Peter dug his claws into the back of his neck. He struggled under the man's grasp but he just kept him in a headlock as he tried to unlock his memories. Peter started grunting as well and his eyes kept flashing from blue and back to his normal eye color. His head began to twitch. Derek and Anabelle shot up from the couch, ready to intervene if they had to.

"Wait, I see them," Peter said.

But Delilah was experiencing Isaac's pain which made her not pay attention to what was happening. Her hand went to the back of her neck as she let out a cry. Isaac's pain along with whatever the hell was going on with Peter was going into overdrive. Falling onto her knees, Delilah's eyes turned violet as blurred images flashed in her brain.

It was dark. No source of light was let into whatever building they were in. She couldn't make out who was there, but she did hear roaring and screaming. All of it was muffled, but still present. There was fighting taking place. Someone was being thrown around.

And in the background, there was a man… a man wearing dark sunglasses. It had to be the alpha leader Deucalion since he was blind. He was watching everything go down. But then he turned around. Even though he couldn't see her, it was like he was staring right at her. His head tilted to the side as if he was curious about her.

"The cure… she's the cure… she's the cure…"

"Stop!" Delilah screamed, "Stop, stop, stop, stop!"

And he did.

As soon as Peter took his claws out of Isaac's neck, both he and Delilah slumped forward. She was able to stop herself with her hands before she could hit the floor. Her breath was coming out in short pants as was Peter's. Ugh, she might just throw up right then and there.

"What'd you see?" Derek asked his uncle.

"It was confusing," Peter panted, "Um, im-images. Vague shapes."

"But you saw something," Derek pressed.

Peter furrowed his eyebrows. "Isaac and Delilah found them."

"Erica and Boyd?"

"I barely saw them," Peter stammered, "I mean, glimpses."

"Jesus Christ," Anabelle groaned, growing impatient with the man, "You did see them though, didn't you?"

"And worse."

Anabelle looked at Derek. "Deucalion." The alpha sat back down and rested his forehead against his hands.

"He was talking to them," Peter said, "Something about time running out."

"What does it mean?" Isaac asked Derek and Anabelle.

"He's gonna kill them," the alpha said.

"No, no, no, no, no, he didn't say that," Peter told him, "He did make them a promise that by the full moon that they'd both be dead."

"The next full moon?"

"Tomorrow night."

Derek shook his head in defeat. When he looked back up at his uncle, he could see the man was still looking confused about something. "What else?"

"He was saying something about a cure," Peter said.

"A cure for what?" Anabelle asked.

"I don't know," Peter told her, "but whatever it is, it involves her."

Everyone's eyes fell onto Delilah, who was still on her knees. Her eyes had turned back to green and were fixated on the floor. Isaac stood up, being careful not to stumble as he was still feeling a little woozy from having Peter's claws in his neck. He knelt next to Delilah.

"Baby?"

She squeezed her eyes shut. "I think I'm gonna be sick." She swiftly got up and ran to the bathroom.

As soon as she saw the toilet, Delilah fell onto her knees once again and began to throw up. She felt Isaac's hand on her back, rubbing up and down. His melodic voice was telling her that he was right there with her. Luckily the sickness didn't last long. But Delilah was still not feeling well. Mostly due to fear.

"What could he possibly want with me?" Delilah asked, mainly to herself.

"Whatever it is, baby," Isaac said as he smoothed her hair back, "I'll protect you. We all will."

Despite her boyfriend's persistent protesting, Delilah deciding to go to school for the rest of the day. It was a new year and even though there were much bigger things to worry about, she didn't want to fall behind on her schoolwork. She had a 4.0 GPA to maintain, after all. Being a werewolf-caladrius hybrid wasn't going to be an excuse to fall into bad habits.

The nausea was still present throughout the day (she really did need to ask Deaton what that was all about) but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been the past few weeks. Maybe all Delilah needed was a distraction from all things extraordinary to keep her stomach settled. The day also seemed to be going by quick, probably because it was only a half day for Delilah. But she didn't necessarily mind.

It was just before her last class of the day when everything started to get suspicious. Delilah was answering another text from Isaac, asking her how she was feeling, when all of a sudden she had bumped into someone, knocking her phone out of her hand. Of course Delilah was quick to apologize but when she looked up at who she had just hit, her heart just about stopped.

One of the twins that was chasing her and Isaac the other night was currently towering over her. He politely smiled down at her, although Delilah didn't think associating him with that word was really appropriate. All of the fear she had experienced that night with him and his boyfriend trying to kill her and her boyfriend came rushing back. She wanted to run but her feet were practically stuck to the floor.

He bent down and picked up Delilah's phone. He held it out to her. "You dropped this."

"Uh… thanks," the hybrid replied shakily, hands trembling when she took her phone back.

The boy's cold eyes remained on her for just a second too long before he walked away. At the end of the hallway was his brother, waiting for him. When they met up with each other, they both looked back at Delilah. They just stared at her, both of their faces unreadable. Delilah's hand went to her stomach as she felt it cramp up again. She had to find a bathroom before she could get sick again. And to get the hell away from these twins.

But as she started to back up, she ran into someone else. Her body tensed up again but then she relaxed when she caught a familiar scent. She sighed in relief when she turned around and saw Scott.

"Oh, thank god it's just you," Delilah said. She began to stutter. "I- I don't mean that in a bad way, of course. I just m-mean that-"

Scott just chuckled. "That's okay. I've actually been looking for you."

"You have?" Delilah asked.

"Yeah," Scott nodded, "I wanted to see how you were feeling after yesterday. I heard you throwing up out Derek and Anabelle's house."

"Well, that's not embarrassing at all," Delilah mumbled, "But I'm okay. I think I was just overwhelmed by everything that's been going on lately."

"I get that. As long as you're okay."

"I am." The hybrid smiled. "Thank you."

Both of them looked down at their feet, feeling a little awkward. Scott mostly because he remembered when Stiles and Natalie pointed out his crush on the girl standing before him. Which he never really thought about until he was actually talking to her. Yes, his heart remained with Allison. But since he was single, he was allowed to look at other girls. And Delilah just happened to be on his radar. Not that he would ever act on that anyway. She wasn't even available. Scott knew she was very much in love with Isaac. And Isaac trusted Scott. He couldn't break that trust.

As for why Delilah was feeling awkward… well, she was always the shy girl. Plus she heard Scott's heart skip a beat for some odd reason. It was weird, but she kept quiet about it.

He cleared his throat. "Also, Derek and Anabelle told me about how Peter tried to get you and Isaac to remember what happened the other night."

"Yeah, that didn't necessarily quite go well," Delilah said, instinctively rubbing the back of her neck.

"But I have a plan," Scott told her, "I already talked to Deaton so after school, go to the animal clinic. I'll have Derek, Anabelle, and Isaac meet us there."

Delilah raised an eyebrow. "And you're sure that whatever this plan is will work?"

"It's worth a shot," Scott shrugged, "You trust me, right?"

This was easier to answer than when Derek asked the same thing earlier. Delilah nodded.

"Yes. I trust you."

"Good," Scott smiled lopsidedly again, "I'll see you later, Delilah." He squeezed her upper arm lightly before going to find his best friends.

The hybrid watched as he walked away. Sometimes Scott could be strange. But he really was a nice guy. And she hoped that whatever plan he was conjuring up would actually work. Because like everyone else, she really wanted to find her best friend and fellow pack member and bring them back home safe and sound.

This was a bad idea.

A really, really bad idea.

Her green eyes could not stop staring at the two large metal tubs placed in the middle of Deaton's office. They were already filled with water, which was bad enough for Delilah. But as Scott, Stiles, Natalie, Derek, and Anabelle dumped dozens of bags of ice into the tubs, the girl was ready to opt out of this. She couldn't even focus on what Deaton was saying to her and Isaac as his voice sounded far away.

"Obviously, it's not going to be particularly... comfortable," the veterinarian told them, "But if we can slow both your heart rates down enough, you'll slip into a trance-like state."

"Like being hypnotized," Isaac said.

"Exactly." Deaton led him into the room as everyone else finished up their task, "You'll be half transformed. It'll let us access your subconscious mind."

Isaac knelt next to his tub, gazing down at the large amount of ice floating around. Delilah, on the other hand, never moved from the doorway. She rested her hand on her stomach as she tried to calm her nerves.

"How slow do their heart rates need to be?" Scott asked.

"Very slow," Deaton said vaguely.

"Well, how slow is very slow?" Derek asked.

Deaton shrugged. "Nearly dead."

"What?!" Anabelle exclaimed.

Exactly what everyone else was thinking. The werewolves looked at each other. Maybe they should have thought this through a little better.

As soon as Isaac dipped his fingers into the water, he drew back his hand even faster with a hiss. "It's safe though, right?"

"Do you want me to answer honestly?" Deaton asked.

"No," Isaac sighed, "No, not really."

Snap!

They all turned around to see Natalie pulling on the rubber glove Stiles was now wearing. The couple were laughing up until they noticed all of the eyes on them.

"What?" Stiles said dumbly.

Derek just gave them a stern look. Natalie smacked her boyfriend's arm lightly.

"Stop messing around," she told him. Glaring at the redhead, Stiles hastily ripped off the glove and threw it down to the side.

Isaac stood back up. He exhaled, still feeling nervous about this.

"Honey, if it feels too risky, you don't have to do this," Anabelle told the boy. Scott nodded in agreement.

But the beta didn't respond. He just pulled his shirt over his head and set it on the table behind him. Normally Delilah would have been drooling over his physique.

Not once did she ever take her eyes off the tubs this entire time.

Derek noticed how quiet it was on her end and he looked over at her, actually looking concerned for her. "Delilah?"

"I, uh…" the girl sputtered, "I…"

"She's afraid of the water," Isaac told Derek, "Her stepfather would try to drown her in her bathtub as punishment."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Scott asked with wide eyes.

"I didn't think this is what you had in mind!" Delilah shrieked.

Stiles snorted. "It's a good thing we never thought you were the kanima then."

Both Isaac and Delilah shot dirty looks at the human boy. But Natalie was already pinching his arm before they could snap at him. Stiles yelped at the intrusion and rubbed his arm.

"I apologize for my idiot boyfriend," Natalie said.

"Like Anabelle said, we're not gonna make you do this if you feel like you can't," Derek told her.

She shook her head. "No. I h-have to do this. For Erica and Boyd. I have to do this." She then unbuttoned her cardigan, leaving her in just her bra and denim shorts.

"I'll be right here with you," Isaac said softly.

He took Delilah's hand and kissed it, helping her relax just a bit. She nodded, taking deep breaths. Isaac helped her into the tub and she gasped as soon as the ice chilled her skin. Slowly, she sat down. Tears stung the corner of her eyes when Isaac let go of her hand so he could get in his own tub. Delilah was shivering bad, but she couldn't tell if it was from the freezing water or from how petrified she was.

There was no time to change her mind. Anabelle and Natalie pushed her back deeper into the tub as Scott, Derek, and Stiles did the same to Isaac, causing the water to overflow.

Soon they young couple were both struggling under everyone's grasps. The water was just way too cold and they couldn't take it. When they shot up from the water, both of them were starting to shift. Isaac's eyes turned yellow while Delilah's violet. They screamed, flashing their fangs.

"Get them back under," Deaton instructed. Everyone tried to hold them back down but they were both putting up a fight. "Hold them."

"We're trying!" Derek snapped.

Finally they were able to keep them still. Isaac and Delilah stopped thrashing and just lied at the bottom of the tub. The hybrid was no longer feeling scared, but now focused on what she was supposed to do. She felt her body rise up to the top of the water. It felt like she was floating in the ocean, bobbing along calm waters. She was mentally taken out of her reality and all she could see was white. Delilah's heartbeat was decreasing, but not enough to announce her dead. This had to mean it was working.

"Now, remember, only I talk to them," she heard Deaton say. His voice sounded so far away. "Too many voices will confuse them and draw them out. Isaac? Can you hear me?"

"Yes, I can hear you," she heard her boyfriend say. It worked on him too.

"Delilah, can you hear me?" Deaton asked her.

"Yes," Delilah answered shakily, eyes still shut.

"This is Dr. Deaton. I'd like to ask you a few questions. Is that alright?"

The young couple answered in unison. "Yes."

"I want to ask you about the night you found Erica and Boyd. I want you to remember it for me in as vivid detail as possible, like you're actually there again."

"I- I don't wanna do that," Delilah heard Isaac start to panic, "I don't- I don't wanna do that. I don't wanna do that."

"Isaac, it's alright," Deaton soothed him, "Just relax. They're just memories. You can't be hurt by a memory."

But that wasn't helping. "I don't wanna do that. I don't wanna do that."

Hearing Isaac freak out only made Delilah hyperventilate. His energy was traveling throughout her body and it made her start to whimper and try to move out of Anabelle and Natalie's grasps as well.

"No," she begged, shaking her head, "No, no, please, no."

"Relax," Deaton told them both, "Relax. If you need to, find each other."

Delilah reached out her hand and she instantly felt Isaac take it in his. As he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand, she exhaled. Being each other's anchors was all it took for both of them to keep calm.

"Good," Deaton praised, "Now let's go back to that night. To the place you found Erica and Boyd. Can you tell me what you see? Is there some kind of building? A house?"

"It's not-it's not a house," Delilah heard Isaac say, "It's stone. I think marble."

"That's perfect. Can you give me any other descriptors?"

"It's dusty… so empty."

Finally, Delilah was starting to get glimpses of her surroundings as she thought about what happened that night. Nothing was really clear, but she felt a very bad presence among her and Isaac. She was scared. She started to whimper.

"Delilah?" she could faintly hear the veterinarian, "Delilah?"

"Someone's here," said girl panted. She felt herself dig her fingers into Anabelle's arm. "Someone's here."

"Delilah, relax," Deaton soothed.

"No, no, no, they see us!" Delilah cried, "They see us!" She let out a scream as she writhed in the water.

"Just memories," her guardian told her, You won't be hurt by your memories. Just relax and hold Isaac's hand. Relax." Delilah squeezed her boyfriend's hand gently, bringing her back down. "Good. Now tell us what you see. Tell us everything."

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer in the animal clinic. Everything around her looked black and grey. The only thing that looked familiar to her was Isaac, who was holding her hand as they walked up the stairs. Their eyes scanned around the building as they took in their surroundings. It was clear that this was some type of old and abandoned building. What kind of building, they weren't sure. They couldn't see any signs or letters. Or anyone, for that matter.

They reached the top of the stairs and they hid behind a couple of pillars. Their eyes still wandered around the area to keep watch and make sure they weren't caught.

"I think the coast is clear," Isaac whispered. His eyebrows scrunched together as he heard a couple voices. "Do you hear that?"

"Erica and Boyd?" Delilah asked.

"I think so," Isaac nodded, "Listen."

"But I can't control it," they heard a deep male voice say. That was definitely Boyd. "None of us will."

Another voice popped up. Female this time. "Do you think we'll end up…"

There was a pause. "Maybe."

"… I don't want to hurt you. I would never forgive myself if anything happened to you."

"It wouldn't be your fault. It's okay. Trust me, the last thing I want to do is hurt you either."

"Boyd? I'm scared."

"Me too."

Something was off. Delilah realized it while she listened in on her pack mate's conversation. Isaac noticed his love looking confused.

"What is it?" he asked her.

"That other voice…" Delilah said, "I… I don't think that was Erica."

"What?" Isaac questioned, "What do you mean? Who else would it be?"

"I don't know." Delilah's eyes turned violet. "But I'm gonna find out." She started to walk towards the voices.

As she walked, Isaac realized that the voices Delilah was following were no longer Boyd's and whoever he was talking to. Instead, it sounded like there were multiple people. Isaac ran after his girlfriend.

"Wait, baby!" he called out softly, "Wait, wait!" He caught up to her and pulled her back. Delilah was about to ask him what he was doing but he covered her mouth and hushed her before she could say anything. "Stay quiet."

"And remember, Deucalion said that we were not allowed to kill her if we see her," a man's voice said. His voice was deep like Boyd's but nowhere near as friendly.

"I don't get it," a younger-sounding guy spoke up, "What's so special about this girl?"

"She's a hybrid." Now it was a woman. "She's part healer. Deucalion thinks that she can heal him if we can lure her in. He's calling her the cure."

The couple looked at each other with wide eyes. They were talking about Delilah. Who else could they have been talking about? Isaac held her as tight as he could without hurting her as if he was trying to protecting her.

"So what do we do with her?"

"Charm her. Convince her that every pack needs a healer. Tell her that if she joins us, she could become the most powerful being there was."

Delilah started shaking like a leaf in her boyfriend's arms. "Isaac… we need to get out of here. Now!"

They turned around to make a run for it but it was too late. Isaac was grabbed and thrown to ground. Roaring in his face was that one alpha that had disguised as a nurse while Isaac was in the hospital. Delilah screamed for him and then suddenly she was yanked by the hair and thrown against a wall. She was grabbed by the throat by that large alpha that Derek and Anabelle fought in the elevator. While they did say they couldn't harm her, he still bared his teeth at her and snarled in her face to scare her.

Everything got confusing after that. Flashes of darkness were making both of the teenagers' head spin. Random voices were shouting at or around them but none of them could make out what they were saying. All of this yelling and coldness and darkness was causing Delilah to struggle to breathe. Suddenly her flashbacks were switching from being in the animal clinic to wherever the building they were at was and even Lawrence trying to drown her. She wanted to scream to Deaton to let her out of this nightmare but she couldn't form the words she really wanted to say.

Things started to finally become clear again. But not for the better. Isaac and Delilah could finally see the bank vault Boyd and whoever else was with him were being held hostage in as they were being dragged away. The alphas threw them in what looked like a supply closet and locked them in. Delilah rubbed her head, feeling sore. She gasped when she saw the large gashes on her love's stomach.

"Oh my god, you're hurt," Delilah said as she crawled over to him. She placed her hand over his heart. "Here, let me-"

"No, baby, it's okay," Isaac told her, holding her hands, "I'll heal, I promise. You're not hurt though, are you?"

"I'm fine," Delilah told him.

"We need to call Derek and Anabelle," Isaac said, gritting his teeth as pain shot through his stomach. He patted all over himself. "Shit! I don't have my phone."

"Oh, here, I have mine." Delilah pulled her phone out of her pocket.

When she tried to dial Derek's number, her hands were trembling so bad that she accidentally clicked the flashlight button. She let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Erica was in the room with them. Actually, it was more like Erica's body. Her blonde hair was ratted and her skin was blue. Her eyes were opened, but just like the rest of her body, they were so lifeless. And they were on Delilah. Nausea hit the hybrid as she stared at her best friend and she crawled over the mop bucket in the corner in the room so she could throw up into it. Isaac rushed to her side so he could try to calm her down but there was no use.

"No!" Delilah screamed, "No!" She went over to Erica's body and held onto her. "Erica…"

Tears wracked her entire body as she mourned over her dead best friend. Isaac rubbed her back, which is all he could really do for her since no words could make this better. His eyes looked up, squinting as he tried to detect what the letters on the little plaque attached to the wall said.

Beacon Hills First National Bank.

That was when the young couple snapped back into reality.

"I saw it!" Isaac said, "I saw the name." He stood up from the tub, Scott and Derek helping him up. Deaton wrapped a towel around him as Anabelle wrapped one around Delilah, who was sitting on the floor. "It's, uh- B- Beacon Hills First National Bank. It's, um... it's an abandoned bank, and they're keeping them locked inside, inside the vault."

Delilah's eyes were squeezed tight as she repeated to herself mentally that she was okay. She didn't drown and she wasn't hurt. Lawrence was dead, he couldn't get her anymore. There was nothing for her to fear. She was safe.

Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes. Everyone in the room was staring down at her.

"What?"

"You don't remember what you said right before you came out of it, do you?" Stiles asked her.

She shook her head. "No."

"You said when they captured you that they dragged you into a room and that there was a body in it," Stiles said.

"What?" Delilah asked, "What body?"

"Erica," Natalie told her regretfully, "You said it was Erica."

What? That was impossible. Erica couldn't be dead.

"No…you're lying. That's not true… that's not-"

Then she broke down when she realized it was. Anabelle caught her before she could fall. Delilah buried her face into the pure wolf's shoulder as she cried over her best friend. This couldn't be happening…

Even Derek still refused to accept it. "She's not dead."

"Derek, she said, 'There's a dead body. It's Erica.'" Stiles said, pointing to Delilah, who was being held by Isaac, "Doesn't exactly leave us much room for interpretation."

"Then who was in the vault with Boyd?" Derek wondered.

"Obviously it was someone else, dude," Natalie told him.

"And maybe it was the girl on the motorcycle," Scott suggested. He turned to Isaac and Delilah. "Okay, the one who saved you?"

Isaac shook his head. "No, she and her husband weren't like us. And whoever was in the vault with Boyd was."

"What if that's how Erica died?" Stiles questioned, "They, like, pit them against each other during the full moons and see which one survives."

"Basically like a werewolf battle thunder dome," Natalie scoffed, "How fitting."

"Then we have to get them out of there before the full moon," Anabelle said, "Tonight." Derek nodded in agreement.

"Be smart about this, Anabelle," Deaton told her, "You can't just go storming in."

"If Isaac and Delilah got in, then so can we," Derek said.

"But they didn't get in through a vault door, did they?" the veterinarian challenged.

"We need a plan," Scott said.

Sighing, Anabelle reminded him, "Scott, the full moon is in less than 24 hours. How are we gonna come up with a plan in that time?"

"Uh, I think someone already did," Stiles announced, reading off his phone, "'Beacon Hills First National closes its doors three months after vault robbery.' Doesn't say here how it was robbed."

"It shouldn't take too long to figure it out," Natalie shrugged.

"How long?" Derek asked.

Natalie snorted. "How long?" She nudged her boyfriend. "You believe this guy?"

"It's the Internet, Derek," Stiles told the alpha in a 'duh' tone, "Okay? Minutes."

When everyone else left, Delilah had stayed sitting on the operating table. She hadn't spoken a word since she remembered the tragic news about Erica. It still didn't feel real to her. There were so many questions about her best friend's death that she felt that she needed answers to, like how long ago she had died. Honestly the more Delilah thought about it, she decided she didn't want to know the details. It would just make her feel worse.

She had her head down, staring at her hands. Isaac was watching her from underneath the doorway. He was going to go back to the loft with Derek and Anabelle but he told them that he would catch up with them later. Right now it looked like Delilah needed him more. But Isaac also didn't want to bombard her with any questions yet so he just stayed back so she could continue to process everything.

"Poor kid," Deaton said as he popped up next to Isaac, making him jump slightly, "She's never had it easy, has she?"

"Not as long as I've known her," Isaac sighed, "I don't know if she ever told you, but she and I lived next door to each other for most of our lives." He shook his head in disappointment. "Not once did I ever figure out what it was actually like in her house until after our first date. I still kick myself sometimes because I should have known better." He chuckled humorlessly. "Out of a people I definitely should have known."

"You shouldn't blame yourself," Deaton told him. He smiled softly. "You know you're all she practically talks about."

For some reason, this shocked Isaac. "Really?"

Deaton nodded. "She always says that if it weren't for you, she probably wouldn't still be alive. She says you saved her life."

"But I haven't done anything special. I just try to be the best boyfriend I could be for her."

"That seems to be more than enough for her. Sometimes all someone needs is just to be heard and cared for. Make them feel like they're not alone. Delilah has faced so much. And I know you have too. But you both always seem to make it through together. Just like tonight."

It was true. As long as he had her, everything was doable. He thought about that one night during his second full moon when Derek told him about anchors. Delilah fit that bill to a T. Without her, Isaac would probably be dead too. She had saved him too. Hopefully she knew that.

"I love her so much," Isaac said softly.

"I know you do," Deaton responded, "just like she loves you too. Keep doing what you're doing." He patted the boy's shoulder. "I'm glad she has you."

The veterinarian walked away to finish up his work for the night. Isaac decided to finally go up to his love to see how she was doing. Not once had she looked up, even when Isaac took her hands in his.

"I still can't believe she's gone," she whispered, rubbing her thumb over his hand.

"Me too," Isaac said.

"She was just so young," Delilah said. She sniffled, letting Isaac know she was crying. "There was so many things she never got to experience yet. Things that we never got to do together. Boyd must be so heartbroken…"

"Erica knew how much you loved her too," Isaac assured her, "You were always such a good friend to her. Remember that, baby."

Delilah finally looked up at Isaac, eyes bloodshot and silent tears running down her face. "Her parents… what am I gonna tell them?"

"Leave that to Derek and Anabelle. You don't want that pressure on your shoulders. They can handle it themselves."

"Can we still do something for her? Just in case they decide not to do a funeral. I still wanna give her a proper remembrance."

"Of course we can, baby." Isaac kissed her before pulling her in.

Neither of the two went to school the next day. Isaac was still feeling a little unwell due to almost dying from ice cold water. While Delilah did want to go to school, both her boyfriend and Deaton advised against it. She was feeling a lot of things when she woke up that morning, both emotional and physical. It was the first day in weeks that Delilah wasn't feeling nauseous, but she was feeling a little achy and tired. Probably also because of the underwater experiment. But she was still in disbelief over losing her best friend. She didn't want to pretend everything was normal for a day.

Once Delilah gained the energy enough to roll out of her bed, she got ready of the day. Black was hardly a color she kept in her wardrobe. It was all mostly bright or pastels. But this was not a bright day. So for the first time in about ten years, Delilah intentionally wore all black, including the motorcycle jacket Erica had gifted her when she finally became a part of the pack. It was fitting. Such a strong color for such strong feelings.

Then she went to work. She had printed out a photo of Erica from before she had turned. Erica probably would have hated the picture Delilah chose because of when it was taken, but the hybrid loved it. It was a candid photo from the first lacrosse game they had gone to together. In the picture, Erica was laughing at something. Her smile was so big and bright and her eyes shut. Even though it was from before she had gone through her transformation, it reminded Delilah of a simpler time. Before they all got dragged into the world of the unknown.

The next thing Delilah did was go to the flower shop and grab a small bundle of lilies and a candle. After that, she went to pick up Isaac from the loft. He was dressed in all black, mostly out of support for Delilah. Although he was feeling the loss as well. Despite the constant teasing of how Erica always third wheeled the couple, she was his friend too. They had all become closer with each other since they spent so much time together as a pack. And even before then, Isaac always appreciated how good of a friend Erica was to his girlfriend and that she actually cared about her, unlike Delilah's old group of friends. He was sad that his love had lost that.

Isaac held Delilah's hand as she drove through the woods in their common but now also solemn silence. She stopped just before the spot by the riverbed that they hadn't been to in months, before Delilah was turned. As soon as they got out of the car, she went to the tree that Isaac had carved their initials on and set down the framed photo and flowers. Then she walked over to the riverbed. Taking the lighter Isaac borrowed from Derek, Delilah lit the small candle. She set it in the water and let it gradually float away.

There was a moment of silence as Delilah bowed her head. She shook her head.

"It still doesn't feel real… I am so sorry, Erica. God, I wish I would have found you sooner so I could have at least tried to heal you and save you. You did not deserve to go out the way you did." She took a shaky deep breath. "Thank you for not only being the most amazing friend I could have asked for, but also being like a sister to me. You were one of the only people I felt like I could really be myself with. We may not have known each other for a long time, but I know our friendship would have lasted a lifetime. I'm going to miss you so much, Erica… I hope I can make you proud up there."

Delilah kept her head down as she heard Isaac's footsteps coming up behind her. He stood beside her and held her hand. Resting her cheek on his bicep, the hand that wasn't holding his was placed on his arm. Silent tears rolled down her cheek as she mourned over her best friend.
