This story is in correlation with my other two Teen Wolf stories, Scars and Awake and Alive! The three intertwine with each other quite often but in different points of view, so I would recommend reading those as well so everything makes sense. I hope you enjoy!

Once the three arrived at the bar, Derek and Harvey sat at a table while Anabelle went to go order their drinks at the bar top. The alpha couldn't help but watch her as she sauntered over to the bar and leaned on her elbows at the counter. Her jeans wear hugging every curve she had and by the way the bartender was looking down at her Derek could only imagine how well her v-neck shirt was showing off her… goods.

A low growl emitted from the back of his throat when he noticed many of the other bar patrons staring at Anabelle's round backside. Even one guy who was sitting just a couple feet away from was trying to hit on her Derek could hear. He was so grimy with his graying greased up hair and yellow teeth. Derek could smell the cigarette smoke all the way from where he was sitting. How Anabelle was not gagging from being so close to the guy was beyond him.

The guy then said something inappropriate along the lines of Anabelle 'bearing his children with those hips'. Just as Derek was about to come to her rescue, she took matters into her own hands by throwing the guy's drink in his face and kicking his chair out from underneath him. Annoyance was written on Anabelle's face but it seemed like it was just another day for her.

"Are guys always harassing her like that here?" Derek asked, not taking his eyes off of her.

"Every single time we come here," Harvey answered, "I don't understand why she insists on coming back."

"Looks like she can handle herself pretty well though."

"Yeah, plus the bartender always feels bad and he thinks she's hot too so he gives us our drinks for free."

"Isn't that something…"

Anabelle finally arrived at the table with three bottles of beer in her hands. "Alright, fellas. Drinks on me."

Once she sat down, she raised her bottle followed by the two men. They clinked their beers together before taking a drink.

"Getting down to business," Derek said as he set his beer down, "We need a new lead on the kanima. Now that we know it's not Lydia it could be anybody."

"Are you sure you don't wanna reconsider Jackson?" Anabelle suggested.

"I thought he passed your test," Harvey said to Derek.

"He did. Which is why I still don't think it's him."

"Think about it, Derek," Anabelle said, "I know you sensed that he was at that house, too. But he was the only one that didn't come out. Who did? The kanima."

"Then how do you explain him becoming paralyzed by the venom?" Derek asked her.

"Maybe it was some sort of trick to convince you that it wasn't him."

"Something still doesn't make sense," Harvey said, "If it's not Lydia, then how is she immune?"

Derek and Anabelle looked at each other. "That we're not too sure about either," Anabelle admitted. She noticed Derek staring down at the beer bottle in his hands, deep in thought. "What?"

"Did you see the way Gerard was looking at the kanima?" the alpha asked her.

"What, like he was scolding a young kid?"

"Exactly. There's no way he doesn't know something. I think might be tied to it in some way."

"But why would he be trying to hunt it down if they're connected?" Harvey asked.

"Because he's a psychotic fuck who likes to mess with us," Anabelle scoffed, taking a swig of her beer.

The musician shook his head and chuckled. "Wow, it doesn't sound like you guys are even close to getting this figured out."

"We know!"

After looking at each other with confused expressions after they spoke at the same time, which seemed to be very common for them nowadays, Derek and Anabelle just took long drinks of their beers. Harvey noticed their strange interaction and was putting two and two together in his head when Derek's phone rang. He accepted the call and his tone became more serious than usual.

"Erica, slow down," Derek said into the phone, "What happened?… Why are they there?" His bushy eyebrows scrunched up. "How did he die?"

Hearing this brought Anabelle and Harvey to the edge of their seats. Who was the kanima's newest victim now?

"Alright, just tell them that we'll figure something out." Derek hung up and rubbed his forehead. "Fuck…"

"What's wrong?" Anabelle asked.

"Delilah's stepfather died earlier tonight."

Whoa. None of them definitely saw this coming.

"Kanima?" Harvey asked.

"Her mother. She shot him and they also found meth in her system and their house. She's being sent to prison. And then Erica said that Isaac told her something was wrong with Delilah's eyes." He pushed back his chair and stood up. "I'm gonna go make sure that they don't send Delilah away."

He went to go exit the bar when Anabelle got up and hurried after him. A jolt of what felt like electricity traveled down Derek's spine when he felt her hand on his shoulder. If Anabelle had felt it too then she was doing a damn good job at not letting it show.

"Maybe it's best if I go," she told him.

"Are you sure?" Derek asked.

Nodding, Anabelle said, "You don't really have the best track record with the police and they might not let her go with you. I'll see if they'll let her stay with me until we can find her something more permanent."

Deciding that she had a point, Derek agreed. "If you need anything-"

"I'll call you." The she-wolf smiled softly. "It'll be fine. At least we finally got the bastard dead. Just like we wanted."

She walked away after squeezing Derek's shoulder lightly, and he watched her up until she walked out the door. When he sat back down, he saw Harvey eyeing him knowingly and smirking.

"What?" he asked.

"You like her," Harvey said smugly.

If Derek had taken a drink, he would have definitely been choking on it. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about the way you look at her," Harvey explained, "Don't think I didn't notice you drooling over her at the shop."

"I was just appreciating her being a good musician, that's all. Nothing more to it."

"Just like there's nothing more to the fact that you looked like you were going to pass out when she touched you just now?"

"She caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting her to be right behind me."

But Harvey wasn't so convinced and he laughed. "Uh huh. Admit it, you've got a huge crush on her."

Derek's eyes rolled so hard they could have fallen out of their sockets. "Crush? What are you, in fucking middle school? I don't like her like that. She's off limits. I grew up with her as my friend only. And now that we're older, she like a colleague."

"A colleague you wanna make out with."

"You are just like a child," Derek scoffed.

"Yeah… my wife says the same thing," Harvey grimaced before taking a drink.

The men silently agreed that they were ready to leave and began to head out. But the bartender stopped them before they could out the door.

"Whoa, where do you guys think you're going?" he asked, "You have to pay for your drinks."

"I thought they were on the house?" Harvey said.

"Yeah, for Anabelle," the bartender told him, "But now she's not here. So pay up."

"Sounds like you got this, don't you, Harvey?" Derek said, "Consider this as paying me back for driving you here."

And payback for riding his ass about his 'nonexistent feelings' for Anabelle.

He patted the musician's shoulder as he pulled his wallet out. Harvey gawked when he saw Derek start to walk out the door.

"Hey, wha- how am I supposed to get home now?" Harvey asked incredulously.

"Call your wife!" Derek called over his shoulder before leaving.

After grumbling about these 'fucking werewolves', Harvey hastily pulled out his phone. He cringed as he dialed his wife's number. "Hey, Braedon…"

It was late when Anabelle finally got Isaac and Delilah out of the police starting and back to her apartment. While the two fell asleep in her bed, the she-wolf was feeling wide-awake so she decided to go for a run. She had thought about calling Derek to ask if he wanted to join her, but after that literal spark she felt at the bar, Anabelle figured it was best for her to just be on her own.

Deciding to stay human for her run, she replaced her signature boots with tennis shoes before she took off. It was another cool night on the preserve and Anabelle mentally pat herself on the back for actually being prepared this time and wearing a thick burgundy sweater. She let the wind slap her face as she ran, drying off the sweat that was building up on her forehead.

A snap of a branch brought her exercise to a screeching halt. Her light brown eyes turned electric blue when they searched around her. She didn't see anything but the sound of another branch breaking alarmed her that she was not alone out here.

One of her hands shot up and grabbed the bullet that was flying her way midair. She was able to catch it between her fingers and she could smell the wolfsbane it was laced with.

Hunters.

Something hard smacked her forehead, making Anabelle fall backwards. The hunter above her shot at her head again but she rolled away just in time. She scratched at his thigh and he dropped his gun. When she got up, he went to grab his gun but she grabbed the branch on the tree closest to her so she could swing herself and kick his chest. She landed in a crouch as she let go of the branch when the hunter fell onto the dirt.

Anabelle grabbed the man by the front of his shirt and rose her claws up so she could rip his throat out. But before she could swipe, her wrist was suddenly pinned to the tree with a dagger. She roared in pain. Her other wrist was stabbed as well right before she could free herself.

"Struggling will only make it worse, dear."

A growl escaped the pure wolf's throat as she slowly looked up at the two men walking towards her. "I thought I smelled something rotten."

"Ah, Anabelle," the older man smiled almost too politely, "the youngest of the Fierro clan. My, look how much you've grown."

"Yeah, time sure did fly after your crazy bitch of a daughter killed my family, didn't it?" Anabelle let out a cry as a third dagger entered her thigh.

"Such foul language for a lady," Gerard said, shaking his head, "That could get an omega like you into a lot of trouble."

"Look, I'm not one for small talk so if you're gonna kill me, can you just do it already?"

"We're not here to kill you," Chris spoke up, "We actually want to make you an offer."

Of course this made Anabelle even more suspicious. "What kind of offer?"

"One that could save your life." The she-wolf raised an eyebrow as she waited for Chris to continue. "We know you've become partners with Derek."

"You could say that…"

"And you've been on the hunt for the kanima," Gerard added, "You haven't had so much luck with that, have you?" He chuckled as Anabelle grew silent. "Let's just cut to the chase. We're willing to take the kanima off your back. Derek doesn't know what he's doing. He's only going to cause more harm if he keeps going the way he is and the beast will never be caught. If you can get him to back off, we won't bother you anymore. Leave it to us."

Laughing, Anabelle shook her head. He couldn't be serious. "You don't think I know your fucking game? You're more delusional than I thought if you think I'll actually trust you."

"But I thought you didn't trust Derek." Chris said.

"I don't trust anyone. And even if I do tell him to stop, he wouldn't listen to me."

"Then why are you helping him? He's only going to put you and these kids in harms way again."

She didn't know how to answer. Maybe it was because she was starting to get lightheaded from the blood loss. Nothing aggravated Anabelle more than the Argents actually having a point, but they did. It was the same battle she had with herself every time Derek did something she didn't agree with. Why does she keep giving him so many chances?

But she couldn't walk away from him. It was easier to do so after the fire, but now… something had changed. Anabelle couldn't describe it. There was something that always brought her back to him. And she was secretly hoping that Derek could finally grow into the leader he wanted to be. He just needed the push from her.

Gerard noticed Anabelle become softer as she remained deep in thought. "Well, well. Looks like you finally learned your family's secret. And now you've had a change of heart. How precious."

Secret? "What secret?"

"I actually don't think she knows," Chris said to his father when he realized Anabelle seemed genuinely confused.

"She has to," Gerard argued, "They're both at the point where they should. She wouldn't protect him otherwise."

"In case you've both forgotten, I'm still here!" Anabelle snapped, trying to break free from the daggers.

The elder hunter took slow strides so he was just inches away from her face. He roughly grabbed her by the chin when she tried to turn her head away. Anabelle was forced to stare into his cold and dark eyes, like he was the real monster.

"We will get the kanima," Gerard threatened, "even if we have to get through Derek and his little pack. But soon enough, we'll end up getting them too. One by one. We'll make sure we save Derek for last so he can watch them all go down and he'll become alone and helpless."

"Touch him and those kids and I'll rip your throat out with my teeth," Anabelle seethed.

"Oh, don't worry about that, Anabelle," Gerard said, "You won't have to watch them die… because you'll be the first one to go, omega."

He swiftly pulled out the daggers in Anabelle's wrists and she collapsed on the ground. The Argents and their hunter walked away, Chris looking back at the she-wolf one last time.

The crimson blood trailed down Anabelle's arms and blended in with the sleeves of her sweater. She yanked out the dagger in her thigh, making her wince. All of the energy she had was wiped out so she leaned against the tree as she tried to catch her breath.

Gerard and Chris didn't scare her. She was going to protect Derek and those kids at all costs. Even if she died trying.

With everything happening with the kanima, Derek almost forgot about other things that he should be worrying about. For instance, there was a full moon coming up in just a few days. Three out of his four betas would be experiencing this for the first time and they had no idea what was going to hit them. And now one of them might not even be fully werewolf so who knows what's going to happen to her that night.

He knew he should be focusing more on getting his pack in shape so they can have better knowledge of their powers, but he just could not forget the kanima. Especially now that the Argents are involved. And Gerard… Derek still had that moment with him interacting with the kanima. What in the hell could the old hunter possibly be up to?

There was a lot riding on his shoulders right now. Sometimes he wondered if killing Peter to become the alpha was a mistake. But he knew that his uncle had to be punished for his wrongs. He thought he was doing somewhat of a good deed. However it seemed to be that no good deed goes unpunished. But Derek was still determined to be the best alpha he could be. Just like his mother was.

Now that he had Anabelle finally on board, all Derek needed was Scott to get on his side. Then he'll finally be unstoppable. Nothing could take him down.

"Getting ready to capture a dragon there, Derek?"

Said man was so deep in thought he didn't even hear Anabelle come in the subway station. But there she was, leaning against a pole with her arms crossed. She smirked as she gestured towards the chains Derek was holding.

"Now, I'm not sure if dragons are real," she joked, "But I'm sure they could easily melt those chains and then you'd be really screwed."

"I think you've been around Stiles and Natalie a little too much," Derek said as he dropped the chains back in the trunk, "Sarcasm's not really a good look on you."

"I don't know, I think I'm pretty funny." Anabelle winked, making Derek shake his head. She crouched down and inspected the contents of the trunk. "I forgot that the full moon was coming up."

"Me too," Derek admitted, "There's been a lot I haven't been keeping track of."

"There's also been a lot going on," the she-wolf said, "I guess I can't really blame you for making certain things more of a priority."

"This whole you being nicer to me thing is gonna take a while to get used to."

Anabelle looked behind her at Derek. "Would you rather me go back to hating you?"

"Oh, so you don't hate me anymore?" Derek asked sarcastically.

"It's like a 30/70 feeling with you."

"Which is the higher percentage?"

The smile that grew on Anabelle's face was almost seductive when she said, "Wouldn't you like to know?"

Pretending that that smile didn't have any effect on him whatsoever, Derek crouched down next to her. He thought back to their childhood as he pulled out the equipment with Anabelle.

"Remember that one full moon when we were in the 7th and 8th grade?" he asked her, "The one where they locked us up together for the very first time and you broke out of your chains?"

"Yeah, and I actually tried to rip your head off," Anabelle chuckled, "Puberty was a weird time for me."

"I was actually kind of impressed how strong you were back then."

"Why do you say that like I'm not strong now?" the she-wolf accused.

"I didn't say you aren't," Derek shrugged, "But just not as strong as me."

Those were some fighting words.

Holding back a laugh, Anabelle said, "I beg to differ. Don't forget- I'm the white wolf."

"Well, I'm the alpha," Derek reminded her as he flashed his red eyes at her.

"Okay, Mr. Alpha." Anabelle took the chains out of his hands and placed them back in the trunk. Standing up, she took off her jacket and tossed it to the side. She held her fists up. "Put your money where your mouth is."

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Let's spar."

Now Derek had to laugh. There was no way. "You're not serious."

"Very," Anabelle said, "What's the matter? You scared?"

"No." Derek closed the trunk before standing up, "I just don't want to hurt you, that's all."

"I think I can hold my own," the she-wolf told him, flashing her blue eyes.

That sounded like a challenge and the alpha accepted. He took slow strides to Anabelle and stopped when he was able to look down at her since she was a few inches shorter. They both started each other down as they waited for the other to make the first move.

Derek went to hold Anabelle in a headlock but because she was faster, she was able to grab his arms and hook her own around them. This made it so she could lock them behind his back. She smirked when he struggled to remove his arms from her grasp.

"Giving up, Derek?" Anabelle teased.

"Not a chance."

Since his legs were still free, Derek wrapped his leg around hers so they could both fall on the ground. Anabelle was quick to get up with him on her tail. While her back was turned to him Derek grabbed a fistful of her curly brown hair and yanked her back against a pole. She went to rub the back of her head but he took both of her wrists tightly and pinned them above her head. He made sure to keep his body pressed against hers so she couldn't escape.

"I win," he smirked slyly.

Blowing her hair out of her face, Anabelle looked up a him with a tiny pout. "Well that wasn't fair."

"Who said anything about playing fair?" Derek taunted.

All of a sudden, he was sucked into another vision.

There was an adorable little girl, about two years old. She had beautiful curly raven black hair that she inherited from her father and light brown eyes that resembled caramel that came from her mother. It was a nice and sunny day which was always welcomed in the usually cold Beacon Hills. To match the warm weather, her mother had dressed her a yellow sundress but let her remain barefoot so she could play around freely.

Running along the river, she chased around a blue butterfly that flew just a few inches too high for her to grab. She got a little too excited and jumped up to try to catch it. But she ended up falling back on her butt. It looked like she was about to cry until the butterfly landed on her nose, making her erupt into giggles.

Her laughter only grew as the butterfly flew away and landed on the large black wolf's snout instead. You would think she would be scared of a creature about three times her size, but she wasn't the least bit frightened. How could she be when he looked so silly with a butterfly on his nose?

The wolf shook his head until the butterfly flew away. He then walked up to the little girl and started licking her face. Her infectious giggles and childlike wonder only encouraged the wolf's affection. She wrapped her chubby little arms around his neck and snuggled her face in his fur that just so happened to be the same color as her hair. This action made the wolf's tail wag happily.

In the distance was a howl that was recognizable to them both. The wolf lowered himself so the girl could climb onto his back. He made sure her arms were still tight and secure before he took off running through the woods.

On the other side of the woods near a cliff stood the white wolf in all of her beauty. Every time the black wolf saw her he fell in love all over again just like he always did ever since they were around the little girl's age. Speaking of which, she lightly tugged on his fur to get him to start moving again.

As soon as they reached her both of the wolves nuzzled their noses together, almost mimicking a human kiss. Just like he did, she licked the little girl's cheek a couple of times and bumped their own noses together. Dimples appeared on the girl's face as she gently stroked the side of the white wolf's face. The black wolf watched this soft and touching moment between mother and daughter and his heart swelled in a way that he never thought he would experience.

For the first time, he felt whole again. With his mate and his daughter right by his side, everything in his world had meaning and love. Nothing could ever compare to this moment.

The vision ended and Derek snapped back into reality. He realized he was still pinning Anabelle's body against himself and the pole. Her face looked just as confused as he felt.

But now that he had her so close to him, it was like he was really seeing her for the first time in a new light. There was no doubt she was incredibly beautiful, Derek always knew that. However he was feeling something that was beyond sexual attraction. No, in that moment, it hit him just how much this woman meant to him. Those feelings he had been experiencing since they found each other again still didn't make sense to him, but he now realized that he cared for Anabelle deeply. Not only did he still want to protect her from everything like he always did, Derek decided that he would die for her.

His green eyes scanned over Anabelle's features. Lucious and soft caramel brown curls that made her eyes cascaded over her shoulders down to below her breasts. Her nose was shaped to perfection along with her cheekbones and jawline. God definitely took his time sculpting this woman like she was the finest work of art. Her smooth skin was sun kissed and Derek felt a little stupid to feel a little jealous of the sun. Then when he finally got down to those plush pink lips, he began to wonder how incredible they would feel on his own.

Harvey might have actually been right. That son of a bitch.

Just as he was about to leaned forward, his and Anabelle's names were called from the top of the stairs. She moved out of his hold a little too quickly than Derek would have liked. But the disappointment was long gone when he saw Scott running with a convulsing Erica in his arms with Stiles and Natalie running behind him.

"What happened?" Anabelle asked with wide eyes.

"The kanima attacked her," Scott said, passing Erica off to Derek, "She broke out into a seizure."

They all hurried into the subway car and Derek lowered the beta in his arms to the floor. "Anabelle, hold her up." She did as instructed and held Erica so she was sitting up.

"Is she dying?" Stiles asked.

"She might," Derek answered nervously, "I…" He held up Erica's arm. "Which is why this is gonna hurt." He broke her arm in half and she screamed.

"What the fuck?!" Natalie shrieked as she saw bone poking underneath Erica's skin, "You had to break her arm?!"

"It'll trigger the healing process," Derek told her, "I still gotta get the venom out. This is where it's really gonna hurt."

He gripped Erica's arm tightly, squeezing out the black blood like he was wringing out a towel. The girl's screams were agonizing and Anabelle could hardly bear to hear them. But she just had to keep holding her still so Derek could save her.

Once all of the venom was drained from her body, Erica slumped into Anabelle's arms. The she-wolf brushed her now frizzy blonde hair back and comforted her as if a mother was calming down her child from a nightmare.

"You're okay, sweetie," Anabelle cooed, "I got you. You're okay."

Erica looked up at Stiles and patted his arm. "Stiles. You make a good Batman." Said boy smiled at the compliment. "And Natalie? You're not Harley Quinn… you're Wonder Woman."

Derek and Anabelle left their beta with Stiles and Natalie as they walked out of the car. Scott followed after them.

"You know who it is," Scott accused them.

The older werewolves turned around. When Derek looked at his partner, Anabelle nodded her head at him. He knew she had been right all along. It was time he admitted it. He sat down on a crate.

"Jackson."

"You just wanted Erica to confirm it, didn't you?" Scott asked. Derek nodded. "I'm gonna help you stop him. As part of your pack." This shocked the alpha and omega. "If you want me in, fine. But we'll do it on one condition. We're gonna catch him, not kill him."

"And?" Derek asked, raising his eyebrows.

"And we do it my way."
