MANHUNT FOR PRO HERO ERASER HEAD
The search continues into its second day for Pro Hero-turned-villain, Aizawa Shouta — better known to the public as Eraser Head.
Eraser Head was arrested nine days ago following a months-long investigation by the Majestic Agency into Yakuza activities, which was prompted by the abduction of three underage UA students (all of whom escaped unharmed).
He faces charges including forgery, bribery, illegal gambling, money laundering, racketeering, assault, and murder, and is also considered a suspect in several disappearances still under investigation.
Aizawa was a graduate from UA and went on to be known as the Pro Hero Eraser Head. In more recent years he has filled the role as a teacher at UA, most notably overseeing the controversial Class 1-A, who have filled headlines every since the USJ Training Center incident several months ago, which was the first public appearance by the the League of Villains terrorist organization. Aizawa was one of the teachers present at the USJ facility during the attack, although his role was overshadowed by Pro Hero All Might.
A few months later, it was Aizawa who accepted responsibility for the kidnapping of Class 1-A student Bakugo Katsuki by the League of Villains while attending the UA summer training camp, although the student was soon recovered, unharmed, by a team of Pro Heroes.
The recovery of Bakugo Katsuki, however, lead to a devastating showdown between All Might and the villain known as All For One in Kamino Ward. The area was devastated, with dozens of civilian lives lost and hundreds of injuries. Both UA and the Public Safety Commission came under intense scrutiny following the Kamino Ward incident, with significant reforms promised by both.
UA is now faced with perhaps its most damaging scandal to date — how the Pro Hero prep school overlooked hiring Yakuza leadership to its staff. Pro Hero Majestic released a press statement upon Aizawa's arrest, which cites tracing his Yakuza activity back to shortly after his graduation from UA. He is considered the boss of the Shibanme No Kishu-gumi syndicate. They rose to power after splintering from Samiyoshi-kai over a decade ago.
Aizawa's involvement raises questions with regard to the presence of other potential villains in Hero society, and the likelihood of abuses of power as a result. UA staff have reassured the public that they are investigating all possibilities, but faith in the school has been damaged over the course of the year. Parents are steadily withdrawing their children from the once-prestigious academy, with many students choosing not to continue in their pursuit of Hero careers.
The whereabouts of Aizawa Shouta are presently unknown. Although it is believed likely he has remained local due to his ties to the area, there is the possibility he has fled to evade law enforcement. When first approached by Heroes for apprehension, he took an intern hostage and attempted escape out the fifth floor of a hospital window. At this time he is described as armed and dangerous, and should not be engaged with. His Erasure quirk is documented as being able to erase the quirks of others for as long as he is able to keep his eyes open or has his target in line-of-sight, but he cannot affect mutant-class quirks.
The means of his escape is still unknown.
If seen, contact the Public Safety Commission, or Detective Tanaka Minato in the organized crimes unit.
