Chapter 1 Introduction

A.N. – This story will be my Code Lyoko spin-off story. This story takes place one year after the defeat of the security program. So, with these stories, I will have the short summaries return for this story. Also, if you need a refresher, I suggest reading the final chapter of Rise of the Lyoko Earth Defenders to know where they are now. Let's begin! Update: The first six chapters were written a while bac, so they may be shorter. I plan to make 7+ longer.

Short Summary – The new Lyoko Earth Defenders have all married and the world has rebuilt from the war. The group of friends decide to have a friend's reunion to discuss the year apart. But bringing these friends together could gain the eye of someone else as well.

It has been one year since the security program was defeated in the tower in Norte Dame by the renowned Lyoko Earth Defenders. Every criminal who served under him was arrested in war crimes and tried. Some were executed, and some were sentenced to life. Others only serve a few decades. The Lyoko Earth Defenders were all married and now living a normal life but were haunted by memories of the past.

Aelita & Jeremy

Aelita and Jeremy used the money that they received from the government to buy and restore Aelita's childhood home, the Hermitage. Jeremy used his diary from his laptop to write a series of books based off of their adventures of fighting Xana, Anti-Xana, Tyron, the government, and the security program. While these may seem like fiction to some people, the final book will convince everyone that these series are all non-fictions.

Jeremy's appearance has not changed much. His hair is still the same length, and he still wears the sweaters and pants. Aelita on the other hand has changed her whole appearance. She grew her hair to length that her mother once had. She still has the bubblegum pink color. She now wears tank tops with miniskirts. She also had a variety of different colors and not only pink. Aelita's change came only now that she can live a normal life.

Night came and Jeremy was still working.

"So, my dear, what story are you on now?" Aelita asked Jeremy.

"I am currently writing about the altar. I will be naming this book Legend of the Lyoko Earth Defenders" Jeremy responded.

"Based off what the stories the spirits told us."

"That's basically the point. I am going to finish writing this chapter and I'll head to bed. Just ten more minutes."

Jeremy has banked hundreds from these stories. Only they knew the risks they took, how everyday they put their lives on the line for others. Now the world will know of their bravery. Jeremy still remembers when they officially shut down the supercomputer…for good.

Flashback

Jeremy, his friends, and everyone who they were fighting alongside was in the supercalculator room to mark the end of the Lyoko Warriors. This event was also televised around the world to mark the day that the Lyoko Warriors saved the world. Jeremy pressed the button to access the lever.

"Alright, first I want to thank everybody for what they did to help us restore freedom to world. Second, this is the last time the supercomputer will be deactivated. No matter what, we will never activate this supercalculator ever again" Jeremy says to the group of people.

Jeremy sighed and grabbed the lever and pulled it down. The supercalculator gave the sound it gave when they first shut it down after they thought they defeated Xana originally. The supercalculator descended into the floor and Lyoko was shut down, forever.

End of Flashback

Jeremy could not believe that their life as heroes was over. None of them could, but this day was bound to happen, they just didn't know when. Aelita was all ready for bed. She laid down and fell immediately asleep. But her first dream was not as peaceful as she would hope.

Aelita's Dream

Aelita was back in the tower in Norte Dame. She was going into her simulation that the security program prepared for her. She entered into a dark room and the simulation from when they were in the clock tower began. She immediately flew up to the top. She found just the dead bodies of her friends. She turned around and found the security program standing behind her.

"I have you now Aelita. Now and forever!" the security program said as he grabbed her by her neck, laughing.

End of Dream

Aelita woke up screaming again. This was the third time this week. She never thought she would come out of this war with more fear of the past, then when it began. Jeremy came rushing in.

"Aelita, are you alright?" Jeremy asked her.

"Yeah, just another nightmare" Aelita responded.

"About the war?"

"Yeah, but it always different. The one consistent thing about it, is that bastard, the security program."

"He's gone now Aelita. We don't have to fear him. But I know you are suffering. I think we need our friends here with us. Maybe we can find ways to cope with the state of our minds."

They kissed but Aelita was too scared to go back to sleep. She was too terrified of what she would see.

Yumi & Ulrich

Yumi and Ulrich discussed where they would go after the world rebuilt. They talked about going to Yumi's homeland in Japan. Another location was back in Germany. Ulrich wanted to stay away from there because of the war. Yumi was also a little traumatized because of her homecoming. So, they decided to stay in France. But they were both suffering from the toll the war took on them.

Yumi's appearance changed as she grew her hair out to the middle of her back. She also changed her black appearance to different colors such as purple and pink as well as blue and red. Ulrich grew taller after the war ended. He had a late growth spurt. Ulrich had a variety of clothes to chooses from so his appeal really had no changes.

Yumi went on to teach martial arts to students as a master. Ulrich tried for soccer but had not enough background to get in the team. So, he decided to teach alongside Yumi as a martial artist. He was known as master's assistant. He didn't qualify for master since he couldn't defeat Yumi in a match. Also, Ulrich only taught on some nights, while Yumi taught full time.

Yumi returned home from her shift.

"Hey, how was today's lesson?" Ulrich asked her.

"Alright, the students all learn fast" Yumi replied.

"Anymore nightmares or visions?"

"Yeah, but that's why I don't drive. I have this feeling that it will happen during then, but now they're happening more here at home."

"Yeah, they have been the same for me as well. All here, but mostly they have been nightmares."

"I'm going to sleep. Long day, need to recharge for tomorrow's lesson."

Yumi went upstairs but as she climbed, she envisioned climbing a grassy hill. As she reached the top, she saw her village from home destroyed. She closed her eyes and tried to forget.

"Calm down Yumi. It's all in the past. He is gone" Yumi said to herself.

"Yumi," a man said as he placed his hand on Yumi's shoulder and Yumi got defensive almost kicking Ulrich in face thinking he was the security program. She still wasn't fully recovered from her vision. "A little defensive, are we?"

"Next time, try asking from far away."

"Why?"

"I thought you were the security program. I saw my home during the war. After I saw it, the security program appeared, so I kinda got caught up in the moment as I was trying to calm down."

"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to spook you."

"No, it's fine. I just wished this didn't happen as much." Yumi's phone rang, and she picked it up. "Yes? Jeremy? Hold on." Yumi put her phone on speaker.

"Me and Aelita are having a friend's reunion and we want you two as well as Odd and Melissa to come. So, are you coming?" Jeremy asked them.

"Yeah, sure we'll show up" Yumi responded.

"Count on it. We are actually still in France actually" Ulrich added.

"Excellent. See you soon" Jeremy said in excitement.

Yumi hung up and they started to pack for the trip. As Ulrich was packing, he had his eyes closed and Yumi saw a tear coming from his eye.

"Ulrich come out of the fantasy" Yumi said, and Ulrich came back.

"Sorry, just seeing that day in Germany."

"Which part of it?"

"Death."

"Okay. I know you miss him, but just know, he's always watching over you and us. I am pretty sure he is happy for what you did."

Odd & Melissa

Odd and Melissa used the money to buy Odd's parents' old house. Odd turned one of the rooms into a studio for his video making and artist talents. Odd suffered from his traumatic events during the war but was able to channel it through his movies. He made a few short films and was hoping to land a motion picture deal.

His wife, Melissa didn't change her appearance and shared in some of the suffering with Odd. When she served under the security program, she saw too much of what the security program really was. Too much killing. Too much blood. Too much death. It was only after the war; she realized the error she made. She cries sometimes at the choices she made and how others suffered because of it.

Odd started to wear his hear down again. He wanted to remain unnoticed by the world by using a fake name and different appearance then people knew him from. Odd's fear still remained the same, losing Melissa.

Odd worked from home and only left for filming purposes. Today, he was more or less overworked.

"Man, I though this movie making business was going to be easy, but it's a lot more difficult than it was in high school" Odd said to himself. But Melissa was listening to him.

"It always is" Melissa said from behind him.

"Melissa. What are you doing here?"

"Coming in to check on my movie making man. You are always working too hard."

"Yeah, but the money from the government wasn't going to last forever. And this was my best talent from Kadic."

"Doesn't mean you have to work to the bone. Movies take time."

"I know. Wish we had more time together. The last time we had any time together was the week our honeymoon was."

"Don't forget that our relationship was also less physical as well. I understood because saving the world came first."

"Yeah, but we were never really physical till I turned 18."

"Come on. Having something to eat. I know your appetite hasn't changed."

Melissa walked out and Odd followed. As he exited though he saw two figures standing at the end of the hallway. As he approached, the figures fell. As they cleared, he saw the corpses of his parents. He then turned around and saw Melissa. But then Evil William appeared from the darkness behind her and grabbed her.

"Sorry, she is with us now" Evil William said as he pulled her back into the darkness and as Odd ran toward her, she vanished.

"No!" Odd screamed and Melissa checked on him.

"Odd, what's wrong?" Melissa asked him.

"Melissa! Oh, I was lost in the past when you were working for the security program. I also saw Evil William too."

"I saw him every day. And now, I realize he was consumed and formed by darkness."

"Our William was the same way. Consumed by the evil but was never truly lost."

They hugged and Melissa saw visions of her in the tower just watching as the security program tore the world apart.

"I'm sorry everybody. I never meant to hurt any of you" Melissa said.

"That is all in the past now. They all understand" Odd responded, trying to comfort her. Odd's phone suddenly rang. "Hello? Oh, Einstein, long time, no see. How are you and princess? Okay, hold on." Odd put Jeremy on speaker.

"Okay first, Odd you are still going to call me that?" Jeremy asked.

"Stop being so smart, and we'll talk."

"Fine. Number two, we are doing alright. Finally, me and Aelita are having a friend's reunion and Yumi and Ulrich are coming. What about you and Melissa?"

"We'll be there. Right Melissa?"

"Definitely" Melissa responded.

"Excellent. See you soon" Jeremy said and hung up.

Odd and Melissa packed and headed to the airport to go back to Paris to see their old friends once again. But someone was watching them. Someone who was interested in them.

"So, they are all coming together. This could be my chance to talk to them. What I am doing is against protocol, but they have the best chance of succeeding more than any other agent. I just hope that getting them involved in this bullshit doesn't result of the government getting involved. He wanted the best, and he is getting the best" the man said.
