Chapter 8 : Prepare on What Coming
"Master, we're here as you requested,"
"Good, you are all here because there is a matter that we need to discuss," remarked Trell from behind the hologram table in front of him. He eyed each of them. It seemed Mole was still sleepy, Kiala was fresh and bubbly, Meza strict as always, and Kuvira...good as well.
"But first, we need to wait for Grand Master Daizan to arrive," He walked from behind the table and stopped in front of them, towering over them.
"How long?" Kuvira asked with a raised eyebrow. She doesn't expect an answer soon, at least not from their object of discussion.
"Not for long, my dear," the master bender arrived quietly. The room their in now is the room for a tier-one mission only. The highest priority mission AUG need to be conducted.
"Now we can cut the chit-chat."
"Sir, yes, sir!" They shout together.
"Kuvira, we all in this room know your situation. The trial order had come to my office yesterday. They want you in court in two weeks." Daizan stated while he observed their reaction. Kuvira just stood silently there.
"I just got here several weeks ago," Kuvira said quietly. "Is there nothing you can..." Daizan raised his hand to interrupt Kuvira.
"But that is not the only problem we need to face right now, we also found a disturbing truth. Our intel in the Earth Kingdom has located a small Earth Empire garrison in the southern region. Their leader is Commander Guan." Kuvira's eyes narrowed dangerously.
"I order them to surrender, no exception," She roared as her metal plates buzzed loudly.
"We haven't accused you, Kuvira. But I want to ask you about that. Do you know anything about that garrison motive ?" Daizan asked her calmly.
"No," she calmed a bit, but still looked pissed off with the news. Here she is, starting a new life with nice people and a great environment for several weeks. All to be crushed cruelly by what happened in the outside world. In two weeks, she will be on trial for her actions in the last three years. That's not a problem, she can handle what people throw at her, even when the whole world seemed against her. But the second news was what made her mad. The last time she was in power, her last order was for all Earth Empire military to stand down and surrender. But now, a garrison led by who she deemed worthy to command an army refused to surrender. She will have a headache in several next few days.
"What do you think about Commander Guan ?" Daizan asked again.
"A professional commander, I trust him with the southern forces because he has leader requirements and charisma, he is clever and one of my top officers," Kuvira think with her hand on her chin.
"We also knew that King Wu has initiated Earth Kingdom transition from Kingdom to Republic," Ka Trell said. "My gut tells me that Guan will use this momentum to seize power again,"
"How?" Mole asked.
"Every Republic is from the people and returns to people," Trell answered. "So the people elected their leader."
"So...?"
"Urghh, are you that thick? So there will be an election, a public election nonetheless, people will vote their leader, whoever the candidate is." Answered Kiala annoyed with Mole' thickness. She even wonders how can he be one of their best earthbender. Mole only has an 'ooh' looking face and scratched his head sheepishly.
"Correct, every province and city in the Earth Kingdom will hold their election step by step. They can choose which province they will compete at. But we have some guess for where he will show his face," Trell continued.
"So we have three things to concern, and all these three is somehow connected. Kuvira's trial, Guan's Earth Empire remnant, and Earth Kingdom Election, anything else?" Meza summarized their talk. "first, we need to be concerned is how Kuvira will face the trial, if she is proven guilty, she never see us again," said Meza suddenly who began to enjoy being with Kuvira. "Even if she gets compensation, Beifong obviously will watch her closely." Kuvira has a smug smile on her face and that somehow annoyed Meza. "What is with that face? we concerned about your wellbeing here and you just smile smug off like that."
"Thank you for your attention, Meza. I'm touched, really. But I can handle myself for the trial, thank you very much." Kuvira replied easily. But before Meza can retort again, Daizan interrupt him.
"Good, but our White Lotus agent and several Alliance agent will be on the field for observation, most of the world's leaders will be there to attend the trial. Security is a priority with an additional mission to observe and supervise all activity in the court, including and especially Avatar and her gang,"
"So we got that covered ?" Meza asked. This should be Team Meza mission, so he needs to know who else is involved in this mission. This mission was currently the most prestigious mission they will conducted with other branches and units.
"Oh, we got that covered, several White Lotus teams will join you in the mission. You will meet the team leaders soon." Daizan said.
"Shinobi will also join the mission, 2 shinobi three-man-squad will meet you at the location. They are the support unit in the field." Ka Trell said. "who they are is secret until the mission time."
"I think that enough for the trial, how about the Election and Guan's problem ?" Meza said. But Trell's eyes are on Kuvira, ignoring question from Meza.
"Kuvira, you know we have Earth Empire personnel in our ranks?" Trell asked.
"I didn't know we have Earth Empire personnel, how are they?" Kuvira asked surprised.
"About 50, and trained as well,"
"So, what about them ?"
"Those former Imperial will be our field agent in several different areas, mostly in the southern region to scout the movement of Guan, they are in the field now,"
"So we just need to wait," Mole said.

"Dismissed!" Team Meza dispersed to their own business. Meza himself stayed there when three persons with similar uniforms enter the room. It was the team captains.
"You all have been called here to be part of an important mission. The situation is as follow : Kuvira Trial will begin in two weeks, meanwhile we have other problems, Guan's remnant and Election. Your main objective is to supervise and support what happened in the trial. I have a gut somehow Kuvira will involved with Earth Kingdom Election,"
Grand Master Daizan stepped in to continue.
"You will be in the courtroom during Kuvira's trial. After that, escort her until the mission is over. Remember, until further notice, the trial is the mission. Beware of your surrounding and stay alert. Meza will lead this task force, any questions? No? Dismissed!". The captains left the room and prepare for the mission in two weeks.
