Chapter 3 The Mission
A.N. – Okay, this is pretty much an informational chapter that explains the what's going to happen over the course of like the next 8 – 10 chapters. Let's see what the new Lyoko Spies mission is! Also, happy Thanksgiving!
James Marshall – The character you submitted probably won't work in any stories. One of your character names that you submitted will be used later in the next season.
Short Summary – The Lyoko Spies head towards the location Agent Chris provided them with. Once they enter, they are refitted with their old avatar outfits. Once they are briefed, they are met with everything they will need to complete the mission. Can the Lyoko Spies figure out what is going on?

It was 8:55 PM and the four were at the Eiffel tower. They were looking for the rock that was fake. They found it and flipped it over and Aelita saw a button.
"This is probably our way in" Aelita said.
"8:58, probably should hit now" Ulrich said.
Aelita hit the button and the platform they were standing on descended into the ground before the ground was replaced to avoid suspicion. They descended lower into the underground before they came to a stop right outside Chris' office. They were met with some other agents who were working for Chris.
"You four here for your 9 o'clock appointment with Chris?" one agent asked.
"That's us" Yumi responded.
"Chris is inside his office, straight ahead. We'll let you in."
The Lyoko Spies followed the agent, and he opened the door and they stepped inside.
"Glad to see you came" Agent Chris said, turned away from them.
"The threat is almost too real to ignore" Aelita responded.
"I know. After what happened with your year long war of man vs machine, we can't afford another coming of the apocalypse."
"If history has taught us anything, you get rid of any power-hungry tyrants before they cause a worldwide panic." (WW2 reference.)
"Well, we got two tyrants here. One who is dead and one who may be in hiding. But, hopefully after you find the first missing scientists, you'll get some information relating to our real suspect."
"Or a location to where this man is" Odd adds.
"Anything that gives us an edge."
"What about our outfits?" Yumi asked.
"Taken care of."
Agent Chris presses a button and a case raised from the floor and held the Lyoko Warriors avatar outfits, along with their weapons.
"Where did you get these?" Aelita asked as all four of them approached the case.
"From the museum. Took them on account of 'official government business'."
"I see."
"Before you get equipped, let me give you the mission rundown. Your mission is to find all the missing scientists. We have four locations in the world which have been reported as active or suspicious activity. There are rumors of a fifth secret location, but we have no information on it. We are currently investigating. Your mission right now is to find the scientists and save them. We don't know what is happening. Now suit up."
The Lyoko Spies all undressed and reequipped their Lyoko avatar outfits.
"Feels like we're Lyoko Warriors again" Yumi said.
"Nostalgia feeling. It does feel weird, but also natural" Ulrich commented.
"We did spend a full year in these, not mention the 6 years fighting on Lyoko before fighting in the real world" Aelita says.
"Wish I had a better outfit then a giant purple cat, but pickers can't be choosers" Odd says.
"Don't forget, the supercomputer fitted you for that."
"If you're all done, can we get started?" They all nodded in response. "Okay, first the four locations we all know about. The first base in Siberia. Somewhere buried under ice and snow. The second one is somewhere in the Sahara Desert. Our scans could not identify a location. The third one is Amazonian Jungle. We have faint signals but all the moisture from the rainforest and the thick tress we could not get an accurate signal. The final one is somewhere in Alps in the Himalayan region. I will give you a map that point out the regions. You can choose which ones to investigate, and we'll be en route to that location."
"Okay."
"No problem" Odd adds.
"Okay, now for the spy's best friend, the gadgets," Agent Chris said pressing another button and having a case come up out of the ground. "These three gadgets will help you accomplish all goals needed. The first is the image changer. This handy device can change your appearance to any appearance uploaded into the database. This is how you hide yourself from any unwanted eyes. The second is a tracker. As long as all four are active, the faster we can get the location. Press this button to send me a signal and we'll be on our way. Just expect a surprise entrance. The final one is the map. This electronic functions like a map and GPS. Enter coordinates or a location and this device will map you a route to the location entered form your current location. This will also show you a general area. Here's a demonstration. Paris, France."
The map jumped to life and expanded into a general map of Paris with all buildings and surroundings.
"Pretty cool" Odd said.
"Start thinking about where to go first and a convincing excuse. The faster we complete the mission, the faster we save the world."
"One more thing, why are these locations like the ones the security program housed supercomputers?" Aelita asked.
"After the war, these labs were I pretty good shape. The world went into a kind of inspection type to determine if they were or could be used. Due to the evil contaminate, most were deemed unsafe and were closed and demolished shortly after. The others were closed for remodeling and reconditioning. These four are all previous labs. What they are doing or what they contain is currently unknown. That is your job."
"We'll get it done" Ulrich said.
"I hope so, for your and everyone's sake." With that, the Lyoko Spies left, and Agent Chris went back to what he was doing. He pulled up an old picture of the Project Carthage project team. "What was Project Carthage originally for? What possessed Franz Hopper to build Lyoko and create Xana?" He saw the face of the project lead for it. "That face. I know I've seen that face somewhere before. Hmm? What did you want Carthage for?"
Aelita was looking over the same picture that was left from her father right before she and him were virtualized into Lyoko.
"Still wondering about Project Carthage?" Jeremy asked her.
"There is still the mystery of what this was. We discovered that it was a military project, but what was its intended purpose that it got terminated?"
"Who knows? Who also knows if there is someone alive from the project that would talk?"
"I just hope that no one plans to bring back the power of this program."
Aelita was beginning to wonder if the person behind all of this was planning to recreate Carthage.
"Are one of you who we are looking for?" Aelita whispered not loud enough for Jeremy to hear.
The next day the Lyoko Spies all met to discuss what to do. They decided to meet in the secluded part of the woods next to Kadic. This was the perfect place to discuss this secret matter.
"So, all except for Ulrich and Yumi are we covered?" Aelita asked.
"I told Melissa that I would be taking an extended vacation with Aelita, Yumi, and Ulrich" Odd said.
"I told Jeremy that I was looking to reconnect with you three."
"Then we're all covered. Time to figure out what the hell to do" Yumi says.
"What we have to do is to figure out where to go first" Aelita said activating the map and the four location were all marked on the map of the world.
"The closest one is in the Sahara Desert" Odd said.
"Back to sandstorm country" Ulrich said.
"Don't forget, William was behind that. We were in the middle of a war" Aelita told him.
"Still, we better be careful" Yumi said.
"Okay, then our first location will be Egypt in the Sahara Desert."
With that the Lyoko Spies all prepared for their first of their brand-new adventures.
A.N. – A short chapter but it provides the layout for the future chapter. Next ones will be longer, I promise. But now the mystery element comes in. Who is behind this?
