Wesley and Mendon stood in the transporter room, preparing to depart ways. "Thank you again for your encouragement," Mendon said, shaking Wesley's hand. "It was, perhaps, undeserved, but very appreciated."

"No problem," Wesley said. "And hey, if you see Mordock any time soon, tell him I said hi, okay?"

Mendon smiled a little. "That is unlikely, Ensign Crusher, but if I see him, I will convey your greetings."

"I hope you guys finish up soon," O'Brien grumbled at his station. "Starbase won't wait forever."

Wesley nodded. "Just saying goodbye."

Stepping on the transporter platform, Mendon waved as O'Brien beamed him out. The transporter chief turned back to Wesley. "Benzites are a little strange, if you ask me," he said.

"Nah," Wesley replied. "Just different than us."
