Chapter 11 Race Against Time
A.N. – So this chapter maybe different as I will post time stamps like I did for 'Exiled Out of Paris' in Fall of the Lyoko Warriors. As you might remember, Aelita discovered a bomb, and the whole lab is rigged, outside and inside. Let the race against time begin!
Short Summary – The Lyoko Spiers enter the lab and the door locks behind them as the bombs arm. The Lyoko Spies need to find the scientists, find a new way out, and find the last set of coordinates before the lab explodes.
Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko. I am just a fan of the show.
The Lyoko Spies open the door to find the lab empty. There corridor leads down a long hallway. All four of them enter and the trap activates. The door closes behind them and immediately locks. Yumi tries to open it.
"It's locked!" Yumi exclaims.
Suddenly the bombs all activate on the walls.
"The bombs are active as well!" Aelita adds.
"We walked into a trap!" Ulrich concludes.
Aelita tries to work on a bomb and tries to defuse it. A shock is released from it and she is sent flying backwards with a screech.
"Aelita!" Ulrich says and goes down to her. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. Damn bomb has a defense mechanism" Aelita says. She walks up to it. "We only got 30 minutes."
30 Minutes Till Detonation
"I'm contacting Chris" Aelita says but can't get a signal through. "It's jammed. We're on our own this time."
"So, we need to find the scientists, and find a way out?" Ulrich questions.
"Not to mention the terminal that contains the last set of coordinates."
"Aelita, be practical. We are in a race against time. We have no time."
"We need those coordinates. If Evil William is behind this, he will resurrect the security program, and our world will perish."
"First, let's find the scientists" Yumi says as they rush down the corridor.
28:30 Minutes Till Detonation
They enter what appears to be what was once the supercomputer room.
"I guess this was once the supercomputer room" Yumi says.
"There is no terminal, or even scientists" Aelita adds.
They see another corridor that leads down another path.
"This seems to lead to another part of the lab" Aelita points down.
"Hopefully to where the scientists are" Ulrich says.
Agent Chris sat in the chair waiting for a signal from the Amazon for the Lyoko Spies. He was informed of their arrival in the Amazon, but it has been hours. He pulls out his communicator and tries to contact Aelita. All he gets is static.
"My communications are jammed. They must be in danger" Agent Chris says. He gets over the intercom. "All special agents, get to the choppers. We are heading to the Amazon."
Agent Chris got on his black jacket and holstered his gun before heading up to the helipads.
26 Minutes Till Detonation
The Lyoko Spies entered the next corridor and found the scientists all chained up and held captive by what seems to be the ninjas.
"Ninjas?" Ulrich asked.
"How are they around. I thought they disbanded after Tyron's death" Odd says.
"They must be specters. Evil William must be behind these" Aelita adds.
Suddenly a screen lit up with a black figure and a distorted voice. "Welcome spies. I have been waiting a long time for this moment when we can finally speak to each other."
"Whoever you are, you're not getting away with this!" Aelita exclaimed at him.
"I beg to differ. You're trapped in my world. The scientist finished what they were assigned to do. Once the sun reaches its zenith above the laboratory, I can resurrect my master."
"You can stop playing the mysterious villain now, Evil William."
"The screen lit up to reveal him. Didn't take you long I see."
"It was pretty easy once you started trying to stop us with old tactics."
"How did you escape Paris?" Ulrich asks.
"Right before you entered the tower, I escaped to the city limits, and waited to see what happened. He also gave me his resurrection program research. I just finished it."
"That was the program Melissa mentioned before she confronted me" Odd states.
"She was telling the truth. It was a resurrection program" Yumi adds.
"And with your negligence in looking into the program after the wars end, is what led to where we are and what is going to happen" Evil William states.
"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Aelita says.
"You won't be saying anything very shortly. Either my associates will take care of you, or the bombs will silence you forever. But if you somehow manage to escape and survive. Come find me. I'll be waiting. Kill them" Evil William tells the ninjas.
The ninjas drew their weapons but didn't go after the spies. They looked down at the scientists. They all drew their weapons above their heads. "NO!" Aelita screamed as the ninjas slashed their weapons on the scientists, killing them on contact. Aelita felt a sense of rage flow through her as well as her friends.
"I never thought he would go this low" Odd says.
"The game has changed. No saving anymore" Yumi adds.
"Which means no limits" Ulrich says next.
"Then what are we waiting for. Let's kill these motherfuckers!" Aelita finishes as they rush into battle.
Ulrich was first and he immediately locked swords with a ninja. They had a grudge match going on. Ulrich took a chance at an opening and kicked the ninja before swinging his sword slicing him in half.
Odd was next. He was running towards it and the ninja was doing the same. Before Odd came face-to-face with it, he slid and when he was under the ninja, he fired a laser arrow getting rid of it.
Yumi was running towards her ninja. She threw her fans and the ninja deflected both. Yumi then jumped as the ninja tried to kill her and she leapt off his back. The ninja also fell down. As Yumi landed she caught one of her fans and threw it at the ninja, defeating it.
Aelita was last. She made a shield and pushed it, stunning the ninja. She ran up to the ninja and fired an energy orb directly in the face of the ninja. The ninja flew back and disappeared. Evil William saw everything.
18 Minutes Till Detonation
The Lyoko Spies went over to the bodies of the scientist and found they did not survive.
"It's no use, the ninjas made sure they died" Ulrich says.
"It's actually hard to believe we would fail. We were meant to save everyone" Yumi adds.
"We didn't fail yet. Our only objective now is to find the lase set of coordinates, get the hell out, and then take down Evil William" Aelita responds.
"Well, we better hurry. We got to find an exit before this place explodes" Odd says.
"You guys go. I'll find my own way out."
"Are you sure Aelita?" Ulrich asks.
"Yes. I gotta find those coordinates. It wouldn't make sense if all of us died. Just promise me that if I don't make it, find him and this shit."
"We promise princess" Odd responds.
"No doubt" Yumi adds.
"Good luck" Aelita tells them.
"You too Aelita."
Ulrich, Yumi, and Odd took off in one direction and Aelita took off in the other.
15 Minutes Till Detonation
The Lyoko Spy trio was running through the corridors, trying to find another exit. They ended up finding a control room.
"What's this?" Odd asks.
"Looks like a control room of sorts. Maybe we can find the door controls" Ulrich asks.
Yumi searched the terminal. She found the door controls were overridden from a remote location. She overrode the controls and allowed for a short window where the doors were unlocked.
"We got 10 minutes to get to an exit before the doors lock again" Yumi tells the two.
The three rushed for the front entrance where they came in. They all made it out before the doors locked behind them. All that was left was to wait for Aelita to get out.
5 Minutes Till Detonation
Aelita found what was the main research room. She went to the main terminal and accessed the last video journal that was made.
"Well, today is the day we finish our objective, but I was informed that we will not leave. We were all tricked into working for our freedom. We don't know what we were helping with. But considering the circumstances, it will probably be nothing good. We hope that our actions will not cause more problems. If we for some reason don't survive, to whoever finds this, fix pour mistakes and stop the one who put us here."
The video feed ended and to letters appeared on the screen.
"E - W? Must be the final set now to escape" Aelita says as she activates her wings and flies to the top.
1 Minute Till Detonation
The rest of the group was outside, still waiting for Aelita, but saw nothing. The seconds were ticking down and they all looked in horror. Suddenly the bombs exploded, and lab along with was destroyed.
"Aelita…no" Yumi said as they were about to be in tears.
"As soon as you're done mourning my not death, let me know" Aelita said as she slowly lowered down before deactivating her wings.
"Aelita…you're alive!"
"Yeah, I opened a hole in the ceiling, and I flew out as the lab exploded."
"Did you find what you needed?" Ulrich asks.
"Yeah, E – S."
"E – S?" Odd asks.
"Whatever it means doesn't matter right now. We have a full set of coordinates. We just have to arrange them, and we'll know where Evil William's main lab is."
Suddenly, Agent Chris and his team came from the choppers. Agent Chris stepped out and saw the lab in flames.
"Exactly where in my mission brief did I say, 'blow the lab up?'" Agent Chris asks them with his arms behind his back.
"The lab was a trap from the start. We have the coordinates. The scientists on the other hand perished before we could save them" Ulrich says.
"I think I need to debrief you personally. Get in the chopper. We'll head to headquarters back at Paris."
"But we're not done" Aelita says to try to continue the mission.
"I know. There is something more going on out there. But I need the rundown and then we can discuss the final mission."
The Lyoko Spies and Agent Chris and his agents all boarded the choppers and headed back to Paris.
"So, Evil William was behind this all along" Agent Chris says in the director room at the spy headquarters.
"Yes, he was the one as the scientists described to us. He hid his identity so he couldn't be found" Aelita responds.
"After the war ended, we did try to find him, but we found nothing."
"What about these coordinates we found?"
"Enter them into the computer. See where it puts you."
Aelita entered the four coordinate points and the location showed where the Prime Meridian and the Equator met.
"Apparently, the 0 meant degrees and the letters meant North – South, and East – West."
"The Prime Meridian and the Equator" Yumi responds.
"Yes, which means Evil William's lab is where they meet."
"But it's just ocean" Ulrich says.
"Then that means the lab is underwater."
"I'll get you to a place in Africa where you can set out. I'll get you a boat and you can dive down to the underwater base" Agent Chris says.
The Lyoko Spies all left the headquarters and prepared for their final mission.
Evil William turned around in his chair and awaited the arrival of the spies as well as the sun's zenith position over the lab.
"Once that sun reaches its zenith tomorrow, my master will resurrect, and the spies along with this world will perish and meet eternal suffering. The final battle begins tomorrow."
A.N. – So, the main villain has finally been revealed. I was planning on doing it when they found the main lab, but I did a chapter earlier. So, the next chapter will be revolved around the final lab. There are exactly two chapters left! This story will return in 2022! Happy New Year! PM me with story ideas if you have any!
